Love this! I think I'd go: 1. Shout at the Devil 2. Girls Girls Girls 3. Saints of Los Angeles 4. Dr. Feelgood 5. New Tattoo 6. Too Fast For Love 7. MC '94 8. Theatre of Pain 9. Generation Swine Even though I put Shout #1 it's the one in my Top 5 that I'd probably listen to least of, but it made them stars so that's why I put it there. Also, depending on my mood, I would swap #4 & 5.

I appreciate New Tattoo being so high on the list. That was the new album when I was first starting to get into the Crue so I’ve always had a soft spot for it. I have fond memories of constantly watching promo appearances on vh1 and late night shows that my dad had recorded for me on tape from that time period. Plus the incredible Behind the Music from a couple years prior. Good call on Bitter Pill, too. Not sure why they took that of the subsequent greatest hits. I love that song.

Nice review Sean. I knew because of your age you would pick the 2 top albums. Theater of pain has nostalgia for me I was a junior in high school. It's funny how your perspective on these albums and different groups it's so funny because if you were alive and buying them as they came out you would see the progression and you wouldn't maybe rank them the way you do but it's still a fun video.

As a “boomer” - I agree 100% with your list. John Corabi is an amazing musician and that album (and the Quarternary EP) was excellent. Theater of Pain is weak. Shout at the Devil is ok. Feel good had great songs too to bottom plus Bob Rock production.

I saw Motley Crue with Ozzy back in 1984. The ticket was $13.25 I’ll always like the first two albums the most but the 1994 album with Corabi is great but I don’t consider it Motley Crue. Also Vince’s singing on Girls Girls Girls and Dr Feelgood was the best of his career. They peaked as a band for those two albums IMO but the first two had the biggest influence on me as I had just graduated HS and was ready to take on the world.

I’ve been a CRÜE Head since SHOUT AT THE DEVIL came out in 1983. I was just turning 11 years old and that album changed my life. Not long after I realized they already had another album out called TOO FAST FOR LOVE and I begged my mom to buy that album for me. Yes I had to do many chores to get it but well worth it because that album also was killer. Theater of pain for me was just weak with the exception of home sweet home and city boy blues but they redeemed themselves with the GIRLS album. I’ll cut this off hear but motley through the years has disappointed me and has pumped me up. Bottom line is when a rock band has been around for decades it’s hard for them to please everyone for that duration. God bless the CRÜE!!!!!!

Not sure why I like this channel so much but keep it up. Kiss is my fav for reasons and crue was my number two when younger. (I'm 51). Keep the rankings coming, you're on to something with this channel. Fun to hear someone else's takes. Be well.

Hey Sean 👋, you, my friend, are wise beyond your years! Although we may disagree on some of your choices, all of your reasoning for YOUR choices have merit in my humble opinion... I have to tell you, without going into any real detail because the story is long and sometimes a little foggy (lol), I WAS THERE MAN! My band was playing up and down the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and up and down the Strip in Vegas from the mid 80's to the late 90's at which time it felt a little silly running around the stage in leather pants and still chasing a record deal. Since music was my life, I stayed in the "Biz" and became a professional audio engineer. In my 40+ year span in the music industry I was so very blessed to have rubbed shoulders with most of my music heroes! I either opened for, was a stage manager for, or ran monitor mix for everyone from KISS to James Brown, Mariah Carey to L.A. Guns, Christina Aguilera to Poison, Prince to Motley Crue, etc... (You get the picture) Your love and deep KNOWLEDGE of music in general totally gives me hope that not all millennials have mush for brains! Lol... I'm so sorry that you weren't around then. YOU WOULD HAVE HAD A BLAST! Who knows, maybe even have played in my band! Lol... Either way, I'm sure that we would have been fast friends... Keep the faith and keep fighting the good Rock-N-Roll fight my "Brother from another mother" Lol... Speaking of which, you have an awesome mom to have taken you to concerts with her like that! I can't tell, because the Thumbnail is so small, but is that your mom or your girlfriend in the pic? God bless and take care bro...

I thoroughly enjoy your lists. Motley was my favorite growing up, but I truly believe they should have called it after the 2005 tour. I thought that Carnival tour was a great show. I'm thrown off quite a bit by New Tattoo since it's just pieced together scraps/ material over the Dr. Feelgood years. Also thrown off by you low Shout placement, but agree 100% with your feelings on the 1994 album. Always fun to hear others views on bands, so I appreciate your video and keep them coming.

I remember when I first heard PRIMAL SCREAM and I was stoked because I thought Motley was going in a heavier direction with that next record and as it turned out their next one came five years later and was very heavy, but it wasnt with Vince on the vocals

Just found the channel. Enjoyed the ranking but as someone who grew up buying these albums on release days I’ve got to disagree with the rankings. Theater (too low) - this was the blues-influenced record, not Girls. This shocked people when it came out because people thought Crue was a metal band and they went back to their Aerosmith roots even down to Nikki stealing Steven Tyler’s black and white striped outfit. There are some clunkers, and there are some vastly underrated tracks such as “Fight for your rights, City Boy Blues, and Raise Your Hands to Rock.” A great sign that Motley would never release the same record twice. (but maybe the same song) Shout (too low)- This was the definitive LA street album before GnR released Appetite. Raw, gritty, violent, and ugly. Tommy’s playing is incredible and Nikki’s storytelling has never been better. “10 Seconds to Love” and“Red Hot” are underrated gems and “Danger” is their best album closer. Not to mention “In the Beginning” is still one of the best openings any album had. Girls (way too high) - I bought the 30th anniversary and outside of the two singles it’s all filler. Motley is trying to recapture the street kings vibe but it’s hard when everyone knows you’re living in the Hollywood hills. Lyrics like Bad Boy Boogie are just lazy (bad boy boogie.. bad is bad?) and “All I Need” wasn’t needed. Rodeo was left off and it boggles the mind why a band who had spent the last 5 years on the road wrote a great song about being on the road and left it off. For another piano ballad that couldn’t touch “Home” and wouldn’t because they purposely made a video they knew would be banned? Too calculated to be shocking. Thankfully not only did they sober up for Feelgood but they embraced their roles as the elder statesmen that other bands wanted to be. Because when you’re having GnR open up for you… you’re no longer the young punks.

And if we are gonna be honest here, there is only one reason that Motley 94 isn't most people's #1 and it's a pretty big road block, but majority of fans will say it's Not Crue anymore, but it's such a FN banger that I had no choice but to put it at the very top of my Crue albums, because there's still Mick Mars and Tommy Lee's playing on this record and It's their very best work by a landslide margin, especially Tommy's drumming on this one!!

I've seen Motley Crue 3 times on tour....'Theatre of Pain', 'Girls, Girls, Girls' and 'Dr Feelgood' and they have NEVER been that great live, especially Vince Meal!!! The theatrics were good, especially during the 'Dr Feelgood' tour. Actually when I saw the 'Dr Feelgood' tour, "Skid Row" opened for them and sounded way better. I was already a fan of John Corabi because I really liked 'The Scream'. When they released "MC '94", IMHO it turned out to be one of the BEST albums to EVER be recorded by ANY band. Still listen to it today, all the time. It's fantastic, from start to finish. Most people don't know, but John Corabi was extremely involved with the recording of 'Generation Swine', doing backing vocals and playing guitar. He was not credited at all and had to sue Motley Crue for royalties due to him.... Typical Motley (Nikki Sixx) Crue

My rankings would go something like this: 1. Too Fast for Love 2. Motley Crue 3. Shout at the Devil 4. Theatre of Pain 5. Dr Feelgood 6. Generation Swine 7. Girls Girls Girls 8. Saints of Los Angeles 9. New Tattoo ...and I honestly think that Generation Swine would go two or three notches higher on my list if Corabi had still been the singer in the band. If Too Fast for Love hadn't been such a mind blower of an album - god, I still remember when it came out, and there was just nothing like it - that self titled album would stand miles above everything else they released. And I could never possibly put New Tattoo low enough. What a drag of a record.

Absolutely you're #1 Too Fast for Love has got to be the same with tons of Crue fans. First time I heard it I had zero clue what I was listening to. Remember back in the 80s everything had to have a label Metal, Punk, Glam, Pop. This was just awesome!

I was surprised. I felt that Dr. Feelgood would be at the top but also relieved when it wasn't. My personal Crue favorite is Shout at the Devil and, like many other Crue fans, I hated Generation Swine and never regained interest in the Crue. Did read The Dirt though. I let a friend of mine borrow it and he never gave it back to me.

Wild side, girls girls girls, dancing on glass, all in the name of, bad boy boogie, your all I need… 3: Dr feelgood 2: TFFL 1: Shout at the devil

Wow. I'll give you credit for not shying away from unpopular opinions. I can't see ANY universe that's SOAD and TFFL aren't at the top. I also love the Corabi album, but that's not the MC sound. They should have named themselves something different. Feelgood is 2-4 good songs, and a buttload of cheap filler. I think Girls and Theatre have better album cuts than Feelgood. I think Tatoo is underrated, but no way better than their first two.

I would put Shout at the Devil #1. I'm very surprised that you and a lot of the comments have such high praise for the 94' album. For me, Motley Crue just cannot have a different singer other than Vince Neil. Dr. Feelgood was such a disappointment for me. I remember hearing it when it came out and thought it just sounded too polished and pop oriented. The lyrics are also horrible on most of the songs. Dr. Feelgood, the song, is one of their best however IMO. Like most bands of the 80's, people generally just don't get into their later stuff much. For me, Crues last good album was Girls Girls Girls. I like Theater of Pain but I understand the criticism of it.
