Ranking Every Mario & Luigi Boss 

A lot of people seem to be missing what I said at the beginning of this video, so I’ll just say it here; all of the major bosses will have their own list at some point in the future. I didn’t think it was fair to put them on the same list as the regular bosses, because their battles are much more complex and intricate. That is why none of the major bosses are on this list.

I’m going to watch this again but every time he says “Bro moves.” I’m going to take a shot of whiskey. Wish me luck.

Imagine if they would have done a boss fight where you play as Bowser and have to fight the Bros. That would have been a cool boss fight.

Fun Fact with the Starlow attack: If the bros get hit with it Starlow would be pissed at the bug, but when the Bros hit her to counter it she gets pissed at them. Thought it was a funny attention to detail

I always liked how Sunnycide’s Yoshi mechanic in the battle reflects on how you progressed through the insides of Yoob by freeing Yoshis so they could push the boulders around.

"Bowser (BiS) is a middle boss and therefore isn't that challenging." Me when I was 10 harshly disagrees.

Now yes, I cans definitely agree with Bowser being Numb 1, but he was all fun and games until you reach the Gauntlet Challenge, because that battle was just really difficult.

Great video! I absolutely love all of these games and this list was a great way to relive some of the best moments! This video must’ve taken a long time to make, so I really appreciate all of the work that was put into it.

Wasn’t expecting much, but this was surprisingly thorough and I watched the whole thing. Brought back quite a few memories for me, as I haven’t played any of these in a while. Also I like the touch of the different boss battle themes playing in the background. Ranking your favorite boss battle themes at the same time, maybe?

Fighting yourself is always my favourite concept in fighting games, but a lot of times those moments turn 'weird', as your 'opponent' starts using their attacks in a way you never have, or has completely different attacks or even abilities. But in this fight specifically? He uses the attacks in the EXACT same way as you. It's such a great detail to me that they made counters to all of those attacks you use. I'm very happy to see you share those thoughts, a really good list imo!

You should’ve factored in personality/iconicness. 1337 Hammer Bros would’ve ranked way higher in that case. And Smoldergeist would’ve actually got a rank (The fight plays the boss theme, so it counts), because it’s actually funny watching him keep going like “I WILL BEAT YOU IN MY TRIAL, FOR REAL, THIS TIME” and “I hope you mourn your decision for eternity”

3:55 I managed to cheese wisdurm with the green shell. You only do defensive attacks when it's small so it's your turn when shwe transforms, then use a perfect green shell with mario and then luigi. By the time it's her turn, she transforms back to small, and repeat this until she dies. The small form is easy unlike the big form, so it works.

I remember struggling so much with Blizzard Midbus when I was 8 that when I had to watch the cutscenes I always out loud mocked Fawful and Midbus telling them to shut the frick up. I got grounded after my mom heard that, lmao

Tbh you can cheese queen bean if you have advanced splash brothers and attack her crown since it doesn’t get affected by spikes.

You absolutely didn't have to say it, but the shroobs in Bowser's Inside Story are actually optional, so you don't have to fight them to finish the game. However, you do get a worthwhile reward for beating them.

Bowser X is one of my favorite boss of all time in Bowser Inside Story. It got some unique moves and hard to avoid but I manage to beat more than 20 times!

6:25 you can actually survive the explosion but its a massive multi hitting damaging explosion that shields won't protect for so long. I had a full health Luigi survive with 7 HP with Both Marios Down

ANTASMA 😭

Bowser and Antasma is easy......in normal mode. IF WE ARE TALKING HARD MODE HOLY CRAP!!! By far one of the most difficult fights in the game and easily the hardest fight up to that point

The best fight is dark bowser and the dark star in bis, the theme slaps and the fight is good

Has anyone ever debated a decision, and use the UI of this game to make that based off the decision.

The giant bosses were a cool concept but I had a terrible time 😂 it’s the reason why I was never able to finish Bowser’s Inside Story, the only M&L game I wasn’t able to complete. Although I’m at the age where I could easily just complete it within a few days if I really wanted but now I gotta worry about rent and university and relationships and adult stuff 😅😅

I think you should have factored in how the bros moves effect the fights, they can make the game a lot more fun.

18:25- I think the reason was because they didn't want to make paper versions of original enemies. After all, the current PM games aren't connected to the classics in any way, shape and form.

R.I.P Alpha Dream 2000 - 2019 Reason fo the company died: On 2019 released the remake of Bowser inside story for 3DS but sadly that game didnt got many purshaces Thats why the company died

These are my thoughts, personal favorites, and pet peeves from this entire list. (Yes I am aware that this list is his opinion, but this is MY opinion that I just want to state. You can completely ignore this if this upsets you.) First of all, Dream Team was my first and favorite Mario and Luigi RPG, so even if I'm trying to judge objectively, I will still have bias towards Dream Team bosses. Also, I haven't played Partners in time, so I have no opinion about those bosses. First of all, my man Grobot was done dirty He has 3 attacks, 2 of which are pretty fun to counter, (Hammer and chase attack) yet I think he was ranked under Popple from SS, despite Popple having like 2 attacks that only vary when you don't counter. I feel like he was a bit harsh on Durmite and Wisdurm, because I think their attacks are decent, yet they were ranked relatively low. Especially because Wisdurm has her own gimmick, along with pretty creative attacks like switching which position the Bros are in while shooting projectiles. I honestly hoped Bowser and Antasma were ranked higher than Popple and Rookie. Torkscrew has a fair placing. I'm happy with Big Massif's placing, since he is very fun to fight with all of the Hooraws' attacks all in one. I hoped that Mamoshka would be in the top 10 because it's pretty difficult sometimes with unique attacks, but it got snubbed off the list. I also wish Elite Trio got higher, it's my favorite multiple enemy boss, and they each have one attack, and then some team attacks along with the bullet bill and split knockout gimmick. Definitely a good boss that I wanted to be higher. Pi'illodium is a pretty tricky boss with a lot of different attacks, and I wish it was ranked higher, definitely. I honestly think Popple&Wiggler (DT) should have been above solo Popple (SS) due to Wiggler himself and the fact that Popple actually has unique attacks. I'm also disappointed that he forgot Bowser Jr (DT), yet he included Bowser (BIS). Don't get me wrong, I think Bowser deserved number 1, I just wish that Bowser Jr. From DT got a ranking. Same for Smoldergeist, though I would rank him at like, 3rd to last. Another thing that kinda annoys me in this list, is that the ranking along with his opinion seems more based on concept. For example, he ranked the Shroobs (BIS), over a lot of other bosses that have way better (and more than one) attacks, but Shroobs were ranked higher because of the concept despite being disappointing in terms of combat. Another thing is that my personal hopes was that Mamoshka, Big Massif, Elite Trio, and Pi'illodium to be at least in the top 15. While every fight except Pi'illodium made it past top 15, and Big Massif got #7, I am disappointed about Pi'illodium being under 15 in the rankings. My final pet peeves with the list is how high the Koopalings were ranked, and also the Chargin' Chucks. I personally think the Koopalings, especially in SS, should've been ranked WAY lower. The fights in PJ have unique attacks with team synergy. While SS has those too, there are some recycled attacks along with them being spaced apart pretty close. However, in PJ all of the Koopalings except Morton, Iggy, and Lemmy, have a wand attack, so I guess they're the same in that regard. However, the counter attacks in SS just don't seem that fun for me, though Larry's is fun. All the other bossfights I didn't talk about I either think is a fair placing, or I didn't care enough to talk about them.

PiT is the only Mario and Luigi game that doesn’t modernized style or remake (at least here in the U.S.) There is a remake of it in Japan or some country, I forget

My major boss list, worst to best: (note: I haven't played Superstar Saga, so it wont be on here) -PPJ Bowser and Paper Bowser. If you died from Shiny Robo Bowser, and restarted the fight, SRB will appear instead of the Bowser duo, so I am considering them different bosses. -PPJ Ludwig and Larry. I don't like the dark card concept -PPJ Roy and Wendy. They are a bit generic. -PIT Elder Princess Shroob (part 1). The battle is really easy compared to the... OTHER 2 BOSSES. -PIT Princess Shroob. I love the fight. However, it can't stand againts the rest. -DT Dreamy Bowser. Same with Princess Shroob, but it is a bit better. -PPJ Morton, Lemmy, Iggy. I love the concept where you have to stun them, then throw everything you got at them. -PIT Elder Princess Shroob (Part 2). The fight is probably the hardest one on the list, as I have not beaten it. -The Dark Star. The fight has a good concept, great attacks, and you have only a small window to attack it before you have to deal with its minions. -Fury of Fawful. Like the Dark Star fight, you have to take out a different target before attacking Fawful. He has better attacks, and it just feels good to punch that fink rat. -Antastma. The music is a masterpiece, the attacks are great, and the nightmare concept is exellent. The only thing putting the bossfight down is that it has too little hp. -Shiny Robo Bowser. This fight has exellent music great attacks, and the fact that you can't use trio attacks until his armor is broken. -Dark Bowser. Everything in this boss fight is executed perfectly. Dark Bowser has the best set of attacks in the game, including his own minion attack that he uses after taking 1000+ damage. Inhaling Fawful is one of the most intense moments in the game. He also has his own attacks that are difficult to dodge, and are fun to dodge. And like the Dark Star fight, you only have a few turns to hit the Dark Star after taking out a few other targets. And to top it all of, there is one of the most epic boss themes that I have ever heard.

My only real disagreement with this list is that I think elite trio and DT Kamek should be much higher. Beyond that, fine list.

Just to note, the original Superstar Saga version of Piranha Bean had an additional attack where he'd occasionally spit a shrunken Prince Peasley at you.

I'm assuming you also weren't counting giant bosses from DT (e.g The zeekeeper)
