I grew to liking it more than Sam's Story. I enjoyed the relationship between Klebnikov and his son, and the final combat scenes during the Novosibirsk Riots.
They haven't made a bad one yet. Literally all the games are incredible, and super great experiences. One of THE MOST underrated franchises ever IMO, and FAR better than the bullshit that COD has turned into.
@@ACben55 nope, but they are on my list. I think I have the first one, but I gotta finish my current series first. The "Extinction Survival" book series by Walt Browning, read by Bronson Pinchot. Super great, and I definitely recommend it.
However, in my opinion, I view Exodus and Fallout New Vegas (the true Fallout 3) is at a tie. They are both extremely well and thought out games, however Fallout 2 tops both.
@@alannugent6607Personally, the only game that beat metro exodus was rdr2, far cry 3, bloodborne and bioshock, but without a doubt these 5 are the best in the video game industry
@@reversecolin1256788that's why the devs are great though. "you guys didnt like the dlc? yeah sure we'll add a skip button, no hard feelings" instead of the usual "you're banned from the forums for complaining and potentially causing a boycott"
Also prolly the most terrified ive ever felt in a game. Dont get me wrong.. ive been scared before. Ive jumped before. But being down in the blind one's lair under the map bunker literally had me near hyperventilating sneaking through there. Ive not had a game surpass it yet.
Two colonels was probably one of the most heartbreaking experiences I’ve had in the Metro series so far. Seeing the station before and after, hearing Khlebnikov’s final words, and listening to miller “talk” to Khlebnikov.
Yeah. Man i didn’t cry but i was just staring at tv unable to open my mouth. I was just sad knowing that miller would die too and it was 2 dads that sacrificed themselves for their childrens well being which really gets to me. But i was also sad that there was no more metro games to play and it was last peace of content until next metro game drops in 2024 game is worth every penny and every second that i have spent on it
It's going through the main story and picking up Kirill's radio transmission trying to hear from his dad and then to play through it, hit so god damn hard
The scene is written perfectly, radiation poisoned Miller starting to rant to Khlebnikov, only for the camera to pan out and its Miller talking to a corpse, and the music hits perfect at the moment - honestly such a heartbreaking scene.
@@yigitpala1 I gave up on Stalker 2 after i saw how they advertised it with "additional campfire contents" locked behind pricier version, not to mention how the guy in dev team responded to negative feedbacks from fans about the NFT shenanigans.
Such a feeling will never go away sadly. I wish so badly to experience so many games and books for the first time. Though we will never get to. Forever repeating stories set in Stone, enjoying the journey and dreading an ending we know too well.
I just finish the series from 2033 to Exodus. And Im in love with the story. The author really portrays the effects of nuclear war. One of the best games I have ever played. And same to you, I hope I can experience the series for the first time again.
@@hemendraravi4787Yeah, I've passed game 3 times on PS3 playing like an angel, still got the bad ending, after this I literally said "fuck this" and been playing killing everyone, feels much more interesting and fun.
@@Another_Good_Guy just play the game as you want and then look up the good ending on RU-vid that’s what I do because it’s extremely difficult to get the “canon” ending. I’ve done it a couple times following a guide because you get “karma points” for the stupidest stuff like finding a hidden crate or body with ammo or simple experiencing something in the environment.
@@MrSqeez01it is not hard to get the good ending at all just dont kill everything u see knock out enemies when u can 2nd game do the same and dont be brutal around the little dark one
The most flawless and pure series ever made. They genuinely put their heart and soul into every detail of the world of metro and create a perfect game every time. Can’t wait for the next one if there is one
Agreed, the only thing I didint like about exodus was the dessert area but that's completely subjective still an amazing game (I haven't played the first two just exodus but from what I've seen they are great and look awsome)
@@Tobi-RU-vidthe first two games are a lot more linear than exodus but are still absolutely amazing games and I highly recommend playing them. as far as I’m aware the entire series is currently on sale on steam and not by a small amount either
Metro is a game where men go to cry. Especially in the metro endings. But by far. On God. Metro is like a hidden gem that holds even more hidden gems. From the horror to the stuff that would make men cry. Especially when you get the ending where Artyome dies, now THAT I leave you crying even after the credits are over
It's because the game incorporates such deeply and longheld values to men like sacrifice, family, and comradery. These 3 things dive to the heart of every man.
@@bbbbbbb51 and that I agree so much. From the first Metro game to Exodus, the metro franchise has a special place in my heart for being so unique and yet emotional. With some Flashbacks of the past like the tank one just kicks you right in the strings. My first time seeing it I had to pause it just to stop tearing up a bit. Especially when I got the ending where Artyome dies when that made me cry a bit.
Two colonels really shows the love of a father to his children. I didn't cry but damn that was really sad. I knew he died but still wished he would survive.
Metro is so good because it's such a good adaptation from the book. 4A Games works closely with the creator of the books so it's pretty much quality controlled all the time. Great franchise, great games, great DLCs. Everything is great. Literally one of the most consistent franchises in gaming, currently
I'm happy to say I had the honor of playing the original metro 2033, and even though it's not as solid as the redux version it's still one of the greatest games I've ever played to this day
Metro series is just perfect. Personally feel like the movement is clunky at times, but they probably wear like 80 pound of gear. Plus it didnt stop me from playing each game like 3 times and the dlcs twice.
Exodus has this "floaty" feeling throughout the entire game. I got use to it, wasn't a big deal but holy hell it took me out of the immersion sometimes.
As my mate once said and I agree wholeheartedly "The metro series is one of the most perfect series ever made in gaming" It has remained as honestly one of, if not my number one favourite series in gaming
I got a good ending by killing people. You just can't kill anyone in that level with Alyosha, I think. I lost a moral point when I killed one of these guys.
@@Marlin-ez actually you can kill the Pioners if they spotted you and shoot at you first, just don't kill them if they surrender. I fought through the entire camp after you got free from the hanging trap and only spare one surrendered guy but i still got the good ending for that chapter.
You can also get the good ending in Last Light by shooting, just make sure you don't leave Pavel to die. Much as he might deserve it, doing so is pretty much a guaranteed bad end. Also, you can save the mother bear from the watchmen at the end of the fight, for extra karma points :)
Dude, the music swelling at the end of Metro Exodus as you bring miller back to the train. The only game that has been able to make me ball my eyes out. The extra work for the good ending was totally worth it
One of my favorite franchises. I caught Metro 2033 and metro last light on a new years sale in like 2013-14 and I’ve loved them ever since. Always recommend them to my friends as I feel these games don’t get enough attention.
Yea siir! Currently replaying metro exodus now. I beat it yesterday on hardcore now on to hardcore ranger with a NG+ attempting it on iron man mode wish me luck 😅🍀 Im also loving how you can now find green tapes throughout your play through about the developers talking about their game and how they changed certain things within it! very very cool! I don’t think there has been another game like this, other than fallout but honestly if this had the same budget as fallout did this game in my opinion would be waay better 👌
Those tapes you could find were awesome I loved it, something's would've been pretty interesting to see if it wasn't changed but mannnnn iron mode killed me especially when I'd die to some silly crap 😂😂
I first played the Metro games a couple years ago and let me tell you. I was NOT expecting to *VERY* quickly view all 3 games AND their dlc as one of the single most perfect game series I think I'll ever play. I've already replayed all 3 a dozen times over each and it still doesn't get dull. Part of that is the writing and story beats. It also drove my interest in reading the books to full on NEED to read them. And I was not disappointed, it's rare to find a version every bit as amazing as the books but here we are. I can't wait for Metro 4
the OG metro 2033 game was what got me into gaming to begin with. saw the trailer on TV and thought it was so cool that I convinced my dad to get me a 360 so I can play it.
I got exodus the other day and it’s fast become one of my favourites. I find myself constantly wanting to explore the world and do all the small side missions because it’s so interesting. The open world isn’t vast or over packed and whenever you do explore you’re rewarded. It’s such a gem
@@Brenden_Simpson i did everything except playing the frickin 20 violas and dark one was like ''Nah this guy is satan'' and i didnt get the good ending
The parts of Two Colonels where you kill the damn creatures with the flamethrower were some of my favorite and most satisfying parts of the entire game.I would like to see more places where we can control big guns or armored trains like in the first games. I love games where we can create chaos with a big gun like this.
The only "bad" things in Metro games is the lighting system and how if you are standing in the dark close up they will not see u but idc since it's still one of the best game series I played.
Redux 2033 on my opinion is the most thrilling and exiting one. I used to be scared as a kid going alone by myself, but now I act like I’m the main character cuz I am.😎
I find it so interesting how each Metro game has their own strengths from each other. You can't really call one the best because they all are so evenly matched in quality.
Metro 2033, Metro 2033 redux [its the remake of 2033], metro last light redux [its just a remaster of last light and it has all dlcs on disc], metro last light redux bonus chapters, Metro Exodus, Two Colonels, Sams Story.
Ive been saying this BEFORE the redux versions, the story and atmosphere in the original game is peak 2000s visuals, story, atmosphere. And they did it again with the same game just added sugar and it still slaps.
the Metro series is a true testament to smaller game companies who care about their gameplay, stories, characters and their overall immersion... rather than micro-transactions, online multiplayer, flashy superficial nonsense, etc...
I hold a grudge that they changed so much compared to the books, but if i ignore the books and focus on the games themselves, they are freaking amazing. I only played 2033 and last light, from which the gameplay was similar, and i hated the last light story, but tge 2033 i replayed many times, doing both endings, and the hardest difficulties. I like to come back to it, especially because of the ranger mode, which should be added to every game of this kind. Playing with no HUD, russian with no subs, and on survivalist is just so immersive. I am looking forward to playing exodus.
The metro series is the goat. Before I even played metro and stalker, was it weird that I dreamed of Russia would be like these if a Nuclear Apocalypse happens?
Best solo game series by far I love all three for different reasons first is horror second is the super soldier feel and the third is like reading a book with how well the story unfolded can’t wait for the 4th one
Remember playing this back in 2011 a year after it's release, amazing game, then last light which was an amazing sequel too. Even though we never heard back again of the dark ones in Exodus I really enjoyed it. We need another game like this.
