@@lunaknights3539 the first batch of games I played was pretty strong top to bottom. Battletoads was less of a game and more of some sort of torture device lol
ive been going back to playing old games, and discovering what i never played or heard of....i came across your channel searching for a list of the entire NES game list ranked and found you....going to tell you right now this is going to be a long trek, and i will be around to watch your quest of this....big venture to have....good luck bro
Wow, really liked this video. Short yet detailed reviews of each game explaining why they're ranked as such, and I found myself agreeing with a lot of it. Very excited for the future of the series.
Glad to hear it! Yeah I wanted to sort of tie a ribbon around the ones I’ve run through. I’m pretty excited to see how the list evolves over time. Any you disagree with? Just gonna guess Megaman 2 😆
@@retronateActually, nah. As I die hard fan of the Mega Man series, even I have to agree with this list. If I'm being biased, maybe MM2 could sneak into 3rd over Contra, but that's only if I HAD to change anything.
What an attempt. I’m curious to see where this series goes. I’d put Castlevania, MM2, or Contra ahead of Ninja Gaiden. However, all are amazing games and would be in my top 20 all-time on NES.
Glad you enjoyed! I’m interested to see how it unfolds as well. And these lists always reflect pieces of our personality and what we value on a game. No qualms with any of the games you mentioned being rated higher on another list.
Great analysis. Every point you made was spot on. I think this is a fantastic idea that you set out to pass every game before you rank it- that's what it really takes to truly be able to fairly rank NES games and understand them individually. Not an easy overall task whatsoever.
Another stellar job my friend, i personally would have both mega mans higher on my list, but i enjoy hearing your personal opinions on them more than anything 🤝
Im gonna have to say 1-10 megaman 2, super C ,megaman 1, ninja gaiden, contra, castlevania, bionic commando. Crystallis ive actually never heard of til now (looks rad) and never played bayou billy somehow 😅
Funny thing about Contra, I've only ever beaten it once. And while I DID use the code to get 30 lives during that attempt, I then blazed through the game without dying once. It was the first time I'd ever gotten to the first stage's boss, let alone beat it. And I thought the game would get even harder after that... Only for the first stage to be the hardest one, IMO.
@@faerieknight2298 I always felt Energy Zone was most difficult. Sometimes the stray bullet takes me out in snow field. But this was the game my older brother and cousin spent HOURS on as kids. I’d sit and stare in amazement.
@@retronate Fair enough. I'd thought that after the pure bullet hell of the first stage, the rest of the game was easy by comparison. But Contra does earn it's reputation for being legendarily hard.
No they’re coming! I’m only rating the games that I’ve actually completed. I’ve got walkthroughs of the 10 games in this episode and I’ll eventually be forming a full ranking of all NES games. I’m really looking forward to both of the titles you mentioned. I’ve heard nothing but good things.
Sure you don't want to turn this into an eliminator for the stream, too? Sure would be fun to see you react to a game you like being treated like the (rightly maligned) Perfect Strangers theme song. Kidding of course (except about Perfect Strangers). I'm looking forward to your complete ranking and seeing how your rankings change as you complete more of the games.
This is the same process I followed when assembling my tv theme song rankings, so you’re getting a bit of a peek behind the curtain. I’m interested to see how these shake out as well.
I haven’t, but I intend to play all the games eventually and then slot them into the list wherever I feel it’s appropriate. Rambo is one that I’ve heard mixed reviews on.
Zelda and Metroid probably should have taken some of the lower spots (at least) in this video. Also, even though I am a HUGE fan of Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario 3 should have been number one...easily. Decent list though.
I haven’t finished those yet so they haven’t been ranked yet. Once I complete a walkthrough video of those titles, I’ll incorporate those into my overall ranks. So they’ve still got a shot! More episodes of this will come out as I complete more games.
Easily the most creative pause music of the bunch - a collection of mixed sound effects from the game. The high point of the soundtrack. Turbo tunnel isn’t bad. The rest are a snooze.
