I personally love yinchin's skin. We all wanted a western pirate so the fact that we at least have that skin as an option to look more like a western pirate makes me feel a lot better. Also it looks like it's straight out of bloodborne and I dig that. I put the all black apollyon color palette on that skin and it almost looks like a female Father Gascoigne
I fucking adore it because of my love for bloodborne, I would've bought it almost immediately if I hadn't played Pirate so much before the skin came out.
I'd love it if Ubisoft would actually give us story mode character skins. Either as a whole skin, or discoverable bodyparts would be very nice (though seperate parts would mean more freedom to customize a character to your liking) and an actual berserk for berserkr. Begone with that weird looking wolf hat. Not sure how to explain it, but it looks out of place. An actual animal skin (either a wolf or bear) as a coat ('serk') would be awesome. Also, there is some kind of accuracy to Maddox breaking his oath to save his people. To the old Scandinavians, honor is a very important thing (as is with many ancient cultures) but they were also more pragmatic. Not surprising considering Scandinavia is a pretty harsh place to survive in the old days. If keeping your oath means to led your people starve, you'd be a terrible leader/chieftain. Breaking your oath will put quite a dent in your honor for some time, but if it's to save your people then that in time would be considered the more honorable thing to do.
Ramiel is unironically my favorite. The elven part with the long golden hair is just incredible design. The armor is a bit oversized but its not entirely counter historical due to some kings opting to wear oversized armor given they wouldnt be doing any fighting anyway. They would be protected from arrow and crossbow fire.
Given I've only paid for Maddox and Wukong is probably all that needs said regarding my favorites. Since they've done Wukong, I'd love to see a Thor skin for Jorm. Or alternatively, one of his sons.
Given that Thor is canonically dead in For Honor, it'd probably be one of his sons or a random Jorm who ended up fucking with the next faction to get a hero.
Best to Worst Imo Yokai Slayer Meiko - I’m a sucker for anything ghostly themed and I love the body horror elements Oath Breaker Maddox - This is what the Vikings should’ve looked like Lord Ramiel - Looks like a legend as you said, only downside is you can’t lower the helmet and the hair coming down Inquisitor Yinchen - Better than pretty much all of Pirate’s gear (Not saying much) Conquistador Vela - Really like the color scheme and sun motif, although it’s a bit bland Baigujing - It’s pretty neat Wukong - It’s cool but there’s too much going on Commander Ravier - Looks like the Lord of Cinder, not bad but other skins are better Poo poo Viking man - I don’t need to say anything
I just like wukong because the antennas its a new take on customistation. And i bought maddox because im scandanavian and he actually looks like a viking.
- Great: 1. Oathbreaker Maddox - What all viking drip should look like 2. Inquisitor Yinchen - Love the design and colours 3. Conquistador Vela - I love the skin but unfortunately it was made for a hero with one of the highest drip factors - Good: 4. Commander Ravier - Looks cool, I like the tapestry and the baldwin mask but is a tad edgy 5. Baigujing - The true hero skin of the journey to the west event in my eyes, looks decent - Better than bolthorn: 6. Wukong - I hated this skin at first but it grew on me. On one hand, the skin is finely detailed and fits with the monkey thing the shaolin has going on but on the other, there's too much going on and not in the best way. He looks a bit out of place and falls into the bad middle ground of looking playful and whimsical and looking serious. At least we finally got a wu lin hero skin 7. Lord Ramiel - Not bad ig but the armour makes no sense + it stitches back and forth like fabric when u move and I cannot ignore it. 8. Yokai Slayer Meiko - Looks too overdone for me. If the hair was shorter and less pronounced it would've been 4th place - Poo: 9. Poo viking - somehow managed to be worse than the raider "fashion" we alr had
I never realized that problem with the Ramiel skin actually but now that you said it I can't unsee it. The dude looks like Legolas, but is built like a brick. Having his face look just a bit older, or just covering it with his awesome looking mask would have just made it so much more cohesive in design.
Im a BP main and I personally love Ravier i think its really cool that it has this dark gothic vibe. Im really into 40k and so i like to make her look a like a sister of battle as well with white hair red robes and and gold metal material i personally love it
I m rep 50 hl and don't really get what s the hype with the maddox skin. Yes it looks good no doubt. But hl already has chainmail chest pieces. They just gave him a bear helmet and pants. It makes him look even more viking than scott if that s a good thing. It literally is just breach guardian/commander skin

Maddox lore is some grox shit - he murdered the majority of his village, because they didn't want to break an oath. so much for "saving his people". But the skin kicks ass.
Interesting that Maddox gets the top spot because I'd put him in the same category as Ramiel and Vela. He could have easily been just a new Highlander armor set and doesn't really do anything to elevate the fantasy or class lore in the way that Wukong, Seiko, and Ravier do. Also Yinchen goes at the very bottom (yes, below burnt toast Bolthorn) of my list because f**k the pirate and an inquisitor skin is wasted on that class. It should have obviously been Peacekeeper.
Only thing i disagree with is ravier being so high, if put ravier below warmonger just because hes kinda boring imo. Other than that, i basically 100% agree. Good list. New viking hero in February! Get plundering
What frustrates me about Ramiel the most is that the skin is bugged on PlayStation at least for me. Ever since i got the skin when it came out his right hip armor plate has been stuck in permanent T-Pose mode and no matter what i did it just won't fix itself.

I think the new warden hero would be about number 3 if it was out before this video. It's no thugshaker Maddox or Ravier, but it is definitely the better of the two warden hero skins

turns out im a rare breed that likes the Bolthorn skin lmao. Reason is that ashy skin is cool and he kinda has a diffrent vibe then the rest of the vikings in for honor But he is a best skin

Ramiel having an Elven design is not a problem. The problem is that they let the same immature people of the dev team have a hand in the skin that ruin much of the rest of the game too, so he looks like a 9-year-old went into an MMORPG, picked an Elven knight and maxed out all the body sliders.
Feels weird that we have this many now, my rankings are 2 different ones, fashion and Character wise Character wise: 1. Meiko, her event was so fun, and i love her look 2. Maddox, his lore feels refreshing and new unlike every same introduction to the outlanders 3. Ravier, she is so commanding and very interesting 4. Wukong, you summed up what i feel bout this monke well 5. Ramiel, him being the first warden of his land is pretty cool ngl. Also being friends or having a pact or whatever with a wyvern is epic 6. Vela, while i was hoping for a lb skin, she does what I wanted for that skin in hers and she was the antithesis to the entire theme of that season which while counterintuitive was pretty cool 7. White bone spirit, the skin we werent supposed to have but so glad we do because all she wanted to do was tell a story 8. Yinchen, she started off a better year, but slowly. Not really a huge fan of her background but she has other redeeming factors, not her lore 9. Bolthorn, i just dont like him Fashion: 1. Meiko the asymmetricality is so good, it feels like something completely new 2. Ravier her mask and shield gives a "conquer or be conquered" vibe and i love that cuz shes a knight 3. Vela what you can do with her armor is miles better than ramiel 4. White bone while i dont like that you cant change the colors it looks fine on its own i don't see it too bad 5. Wukong funny monke 6. Yinchen its armor that i wanted for default pirate 7. Maddox not a huge fan of the contrast between the head and the chainmail 8. Ramiel he looks pretty basic tbh 9. bolthorn sooooo ugly
The pirate hero skin is really not as good as some high level armor parts in my opinion, she can easily become a Chinese Royal Navy and looks very bad ass
I have to say, other then one bad skin...... you know which one im talking about without even naming it, all the skins have been amazing. For Ramiel, it has a elf like charm to it. Probably why I hate it so despite being a knight main.
I don't get the hype behind the Maddox skin, it looks good yeah, but it could have easily been a regular set for Highlander It's ok but it looks a bit generic
I've bought the Ramiel skin and even tho it has some flaws it looks decent, but then i realized my custom made warden skins looks much better than ramiel's fat ass i've stopped using it.
I feel like you can say the same thing with Ravier skin as well, yes she has some unique elements but you can always do better with knights fashion. And that's why i think ppl really like the new highlander skin bc vikings fashion is so bad.(sorry not sorry viking fans)
One thing I hate about BP hero skin is the shape of the mask. It's too chubby? I don't know i wanted the mask to look sharper but she's looking like a eastern europe grandma with those hanging cheeks and that smile.
I guess most people dont know that yinchen is inspired by Warhammer 40k inquisitors, which are super holy soldiers that swear undying loyalty to their god emperor which is why it's my personal favorite hero skin
I agree the Highlander skin is great but the sword blade is more a baseball bat than an actual blade. It looks bad, almost like straight out of WoW, and he has so many other swords that are absolutely glorious and you are locked out of ALL OF THEM. That's why I won't buy the skin.
i think they should not make skins and heros in general be gender specific. and defending it is just bootlicking, Ubisoft isn't an indie studio with no funding, they can do multi gender.
