Which positions do you feel are most important?

I’m new to nfl and and just learning all the different positions , they’res loads 😂

Corners play a lot better when they have good pass rushers in front of them because no corners can cover forever even if you have a great one they will get exposed if the QB has all day to throw

Running backs are mainly used for short down situations or quick dumps when under pressure. The running back position is becoming a hybrid wide receiver position.

I’m starting to believe a really good TE that can change the game with their blocking and receiving is a huge advantage not to tip plays and keeping the defensive personnel to get mismatches for the offense by keeping LB’s on the field to stop the run. If you can find 2 TE’s that can both block good and fast enough to be mismatches for LB’s can be a deadly offense!!!!!

I love this question!!! Obviously, Quarterback is the most important posion on Offense. But, I believe, when given the responsibility, the Center is the second most important position. The Center calls blocking assignments on any given play. He has to look over the defense and call blocking assignments based on the play called and what he sees. Changing assignments at the LoS. Jeff Saturday was a great one. As for "skill positions".... WR, WR Slot, RB, Scatback, whatever, etc... I like TE. A TE like Gronk - superior in blocking, receiving, route-running, etc... is a devestating weapon. He is so important, even when he doesnt touch the ball.

Especially with a good coach and system the QB can be a huge factor

Finally someone who agrees about the running back position! So many good ones out there and they're extremely dependent on o-line performance. Almost never worth big contracts.

For my Seahawks in defense it’s the cornerback position and in the offense it’s the tightend position!

For my Cardinal's, is definitely Tackle &Guard

Even top corners can’t go 1 on 1 with the best WR’s they will need safety help if you up against Julio or Michael Thomas or Tyreek Hill

On Defense... I think it depends on your Base Defense. If you run a 3-4, Id say the most important position is Nose Tackle. In a 4-3, probably your Middle Linebacker.

Receivers are more important than tackles... id rather have a competent tackle and a star wr than a star tackle and an average wr

Number 1 qb and number 2 pass rush 3 offense line 4th wide receiver and conerback 5 middle line backer 6th middle line backer and then you got the rest

Long snapper is obviously #1! In all seriousness I mostly agree but I would value safety over the edge position. Sounds crazy but hear me out. Because of the speed in which the ball is out of the QB's hands you are right that the interior rush is more essential. You were right in mentioning that a shut down corner allows you to scheme pressure. Such schemed pressure comes more in on the edge. So you can get edge pressure without a great edge rusher. Today as you said, it's about building back to front. If you look at the best defenses in football, safety play is largely a backbone of those defenses- See Packers, Bills, Pats etc. I agree corner is the most important. But if you have a shutdown corner and good safeties, your defense is more likely than not top 10. Safeties also allow for more schemed pressure, like you said they can do many things, and disguising coverage can drive QB's to game changing turnovers. I'm a Bills fan. The heart and sole of our defense are Hyde and Poyer. Great rankings though, love your show.

You are super wrong about having the edge rusher at 4 they should be 2 I agree interior pass rusher are great but a QB can just escape the pocket like you said but if you got an edge rusher that’s not a possibility u need both to have good disruption

Pass rushers of any kind are more important than corners. Receivers are gonna get open no matter what, but not all o lines are going to be able to protect the qb which can neutralize the qb. Any wide receiver can get open vs any corner back, it just happens

I think there are only 5 corners that are more important than the elite edge or interior rushers because there are only a few shutdown corners being Tre White, Gilmore, Humphreys, Ramsey, and Sherman. There some other good corners, but these guys can take away your best weapon. So I agree there more important but idk if the position as a whole is.

The Packers got burned badly for not having a good run defense

I searched a video on this for fun. You’re out of your mind. Rush attack is super important. Running the ball tires the D and opens up passing. DBs get frustrated when the front 7 give up yards on the ground and lose focus. Interior lineman on both sides are top aside from QB. Period.

Linebackers are very important

The center is top 2 of importance

All o line positions are top 3 it goes tack guard center quarterback

For me #1 Quarterback #2 cornerbacks #3 wide receiver/tight ends

So green bay is good interior run defender and linebacker are our weaknesses and they are not important according to mitch 11 and 5 go pack go! We also have Adam's lazard is gonna break out and so is jace and someone else could too

Long snapper, Center should be number 1. You said it yourself that they get physical action so often, their careers don't last long. A good long snapper will turn points

QB > DL > OL/CB > Edge Rush Backers > gets very murky for me after this

You really have to take all this with a grain of salt

You also need to be taking contracts into account here. When you add in cap space, the top elite & highest paid WRs are the worst position in the nfl, & it’s not even close

The only way to go is QB WR DB (including safety, they can impact the game more than any position on D) Edge.

Running back i easiest position to learn on offense and probaly all positions as ive played rb wr safty cb and linebacker in practice rb was always easy as long as u can run fast and break tackles and guess what that's a natural athlete so easy to play essy to be filled wrs at my school could be rbs but are rb is to good plz put ur opinions just be mature about it

For me playing center it definetly deserves to be up more because if the offensive line makes a mistake the coach will blame it on you for not telling everyone else what to do on the line. And at least for our school the run game counts the most on the center and being the center is stressful but its worth it in the end.

No you’re wrong. The leagues trends , strategies come and go then come back again. Stop using winning a super bowl as some kind of example on how to construct a team. The Chiefs won because they have Patrick Mahomes, simple as that. Some of the best teams last year ran the ball like it was the 90’s still.
