Did you know: the GameCube controller was designed with Luigi’s Mansion in mind? The dev team made requests to the teams working on the controllers. Also every button has a purpose on the game. How practical that is may be questionable, but it’s still interesting.
My favorite controller in the list is the GamePad. I have such nostalgia for it, since Smash 4 was my first real video game. Nintendo land was the second.
Every new gen kid be looking at GameCube controller like wtf.💀 Edit: can’t believe I have to say this but I like the GameCube controller (a lot), but you have to admit, it looks a bit goofy.
N64 controller is severely underrated. Was the first controller to give meaty handles to make it feel super ergonomic and comfortable. I never played a game with the d pad. I agree that the c buttons were a little small
I didn't like the N64 controller either because it was uncomfortable for me but it was still good for its time at least. Yet wasn't enough to satisfy me but I did like playing N64 games.
@HungryWarden I just use the right analog stick on modern controllers as the c buttons. And assign the c left and c down buttons as the top and right buttons.
10:13 yes it does, the nunchuck has an accelerometer it just doesn't have a pointer. how do you think wii sports boxing works? i also know that a lot of those things where you shake the wiimote and nunchuck don't actually work if you only shake the wiimote like dkc returns. they don't make it very apparent since it doesn't have rumble but the nunchuck absolutely has motion control
Interesting List. There were 4 controllers I did not see. The Nintendo Switch Online NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64 wireless controllers. My favorite controllers are probably the Wii Remote family of controllers. I also really like the Wii U Pro controller.
Hey check out this new wooden axe I bought; the whole thing is made of wood, not just the handle. it also has a hammer on the bottom. So innovative. ;)
I just saw the vid of ideas for Mario kart. I think they should add quests in online matches to keep players more entertained during races, and the rewards are unlock able golden skins/styles for skins. For example the tanooki marios golden unlockeble skin should be the white and gold version of it, and toad can have like golden spots on his head instead of red. Also you names 50 CHARACTERS AND DIDNT BRING UP BABY YOSHI!! That’s at the top of my list it would be hilarious. And last they should make stats for characters and karts not too different so that people can use the combos they like and still be competitive
I have to disagree with the position of the Wii U Pro Controller in the ranking. It has 80 hours of battery life and is incredibly comfortable. With a third party adapter it is a great PC controller. If you complained about the stick on the N64 controller you should have also docked the joy-cons for their stick drift design flaw. The nunchuck does have a three-axis accelerometer when you said that it didn't have one. If it truly didn't have one how did shield blocking in skyward sword work?
I’m genuinely surprised the n64 controller ranked so poorly. That was a ground breaking controller at the time and present controllers probably wouldn’t be where they are had it not been for that controller! Never felt uncomfortable at all to me.
Turned off the video after putting the N64 controller so low. Like so many others, this video seems to only base its opinion on the N64 controller on how it looks and not how it functions, which was excellent for the time. It was both very intuitive and VERY comfortable once you actually had your hands on it. The extended handle and Z-trigger are something no controller since has been able to match.
One look at the thumbnail and I thought "You're going to hell before you die for calling the Joy-Cons bad". But I had to watch the video before to make sure before commenting.
yea even though I do think the switch pro controller is the best controller for Nintendo consoles, if you're going to give innovation so much value then the wavebird or snes controller rlly should've been first.
You forgot to mention that the N64 can also be with your left hand on the left side and your right hand in the middle. I think that this is the rarest method used of the 3 ways that you can hold the controller though.
Nintendo doesn't even make the best controllers for the Switch. 8BitDo, Gulikit and Flydigi all make kickass controllers that absolutely blow any Nintendo Switch controller out of the water. Nintendo fell off.
The GameCube controller literally works perfectly fine in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, what are you talking about? Also NES Max that high is so whack. Wavebird is super overrated, the wired ones are more responsive and reliable, plus they have slightly better build quality in my experience. N64 controller really is not that bad, aside from the subpar analog stick which is its only real flaw.
11:27 he doesn't know what he is talking about. It is used everywhere. Hd rumble just means that the rumble can be adjusted in strength, speed, and something else that I am blanking on. But that means that it has more than one option for rumble
15:11 I don’t really actually like the Nintendo switch pro controller. It feels very uncomfortable when you’re holding it especially near the top so I think that number one should go to the GameCube controller or Wii U pro
My ranking: 1. GC WaveBird 2. GameCube 3. Switch Pro 4. SNES 5. Switch Joy-Cons 6. Wiimote + Nunchuck 7. Wiimote/Wiimote MotionPlus 8. Wii U Gamepad 9. N64 10. NES Dogbone 11. Wii Classic Pro 12. Wii U Classic 13. Wii Classic 14. NES 15. NES Advantage 16. NES Max 17. Virtual Boy
Im the only who still play with a Wii U? I play virtual consoles on my Wii U like street fighter and super Mario bros, and you can play Wii on Wii U, so I play Wii sports sometimes and punch out Wii
I stopped taking this clown seriously after he had the audacity to put the joycons so high up, and leave the Wii U Pro controller so low down on the list. The Switch Pro controller is crap, it's easily prone to stick drift and built poorly.
Wii U is way better than the Nintendo switch because the we U controller has a resistive touchscreen and the Nintendo switch has a capacitive touchscreen the Nintendo switch and the Nintendo switch controllers suck the Wii u and the 3DS are way better because of their controllers and their touch screens
Agreed, the hardware quality is just so much better than the crappy Switch. I still have my Wii from 2009, with all of its accessories perfectly intact. I highly doubt a Switch would even last half as long, especially if subject to abuse.
@@BenjiDarius it does, literally in mario galaxy the spin gives you a higher boost if you shake the wiimote and doesn't when you shake the nunchuck and when you play as Luigi it's the oppossite
@@BenjiDarius it literally does. Play Wii Sports boxing and swing around the nunchuck while the remote is sitting on a desk or table and tell me there isn't an accelerometer in it.
why is the Wii U pro controller lower in ranking than it should be? I guess the Wii U pro controller is criminally underrated just like the Wii U itself, but the fact that the Wii U pro controller was OUTRANKED by the NES MAX is OUTRAGOUS
My top 5 Nintendo controller GameCube controller Wii u gamepad Switch, Wii u, wii pro controller Honourable mention: dual joycon (spoiler: it failed although it would be a good idea if made more comfortable) Dual joycon w/ switch screen is like gamepad but more uncomfortable
The Wiimote is Always My Favorite I play some Wii Games like. Mario Party 8 Blazing Angels Squadrons of World War II Super Smash Bros Brawl Wii Sports Wii Play Wii Sports Resort Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary Super Mario All Stars Super Mario Galaxy Mario Kart Wii Super Mario Galaxy 2 New Super Mario Bros Wii WWll Aces Mario Party 9 Space Invaders Geteven Super Mario Bros Mike Tyson’s Punch Out Castlevania lll Dracula’s Curse
If we mention performance, it's great, but in terms of quality, the hardware in the joycons can be awful sometimes. They could easily break if you aren't careful.
@@KixVuxThe worst quality Nintendo hardware ever made. It's nowhere near as well built as the Wii Remote, and I still have mine from 2009 functioning perfectly.
If the Wii classic control is a copy of the Snes controller, than literally EVERY major controller after the Snes one is a snes controller (Namely Playstation)
Just got the switch Super Pro Controller it’s amazing compared to the pro dock on the base doc the only downside Is that it just defeats the point of the detachable controllers but whatever it’s still the goat anyways
I used to play on the wii u in 2020 but in 2023 my charger broke. R.I.P Some people hate the wii u and i understand their opinion. My controller is the Gamepad
The Switch is a crappier version of the Wii U, in terms of build quality. If the Wii U had succeeded, I don't think Nintendo would have become as greedy as they are today, and I'd probably be still buying from them.
