Quest two has been my favorite so far. So great, and very affordable! I feel like lots of people can now play VR. Before, only the rich people could. Now we can meet many more people and play more games! I also love the constant updates and the long list of features. Pretty amazing! Love your videos and thank you for informing us of all the stuff! It’s crazy to see the evolution of VR!
id say the quest 2 REALLY brought it into the lime light tho. every Christmas there are millions more being sold. the quest 1 just wasn't refined but it showed people that stand alone vr WAS possible.
Same here but soon I’m selling my rift s after only a year, recently I just stopped being able to run games on it and that never used to happen and I can no longer be bothered with technical difficulties and I’m getting a quest 2 and my pc will only be used for screen games, kinda funny how I can run red dead with decent graphics settings at 60 fps but can only run rec room at 40 fps now, too many issues with rift s like the robot mic and stuff though it did bring me many fun days
The vive got me into vr gaming back in 2018 I didn’t own it there was a place I would go to with my dad to play half an hour was 20 pounds but it got me into vr gaming so it’s gonna be my favourite
I have the quest and quest 2 and the only thing I prefer from the og quest is the OLED screen and the controllers. Man those controllers are awesome Wish they were interchangeable
I just got an oculus rift cv1 , paired it with my pc and jumped at NMS. i have never, ever used vr before. it is such a nice experience. only downside is that someone mentioned the proprietary cable to me and now i have them stashed in its case and saving for an oculus quest 2 to continue with my vr gaming.
My rift S has treated me well so far, as someone that uses it mostly for VRChat and changing things for quality of life fixes, like using a Bluetooth gaming headset for a mic and audio instead of the built in mic and "Rifting" I have very little issue with it.
The rift s is definite my favorite, it was the first non-playspace station headset and it had its expection stood up with most of the things of rift s was better than the rift
Minus the mic bugs, controller build quality, poor audio, and not being able to track in the dark. BUT to be fair, the Quest 2 has most of these same problems too and I'd deal with a cable over a poor battery life any day." Better then a Rift tho? More convenient for sure but idk about better overall.
@@AceTheOcarinaMaker The only Reason why this happens is probably because it was the 4th Vr headset and they said it took 5 years to make the 5 headsets so that means the Rift S had 1 year till it was fully published so that's what I think and oculus made its first Headset in 2016. I had the same thing! Mic bug, and the Poor Audio. The Reason why it was not able to be tracked in the dark because Oculus still was learning on how Vr headsets can be changed and can be easily fixed with some good light or some bright Led's. Don't worry though, some Rift S Headsets actually do really good like mine. No robotic mic and no Poor audio. Just Many good memories, and laughs.
@@AceTheOcarinaMaker . Audio is pretty bad, but its the exact same on the quests and not being able to track in the dark makes perfect sense. But I do agree that controller build quality is terrible.
The only downside I have really had was the mic being robotic sounding but other than that yeah the RIFT S is probably my favorite I haven't had a lot of problems with it
At first I was regretting my Quest 2 when watching this but now I'm glad I got it since it's practically the best version along with some of the Rifts.
quest 2 is an amazing platform to play on especially considering its has the same pricing of a new gen gaming console. And since its cheaper people can just get their hands on one easily and its growing the vr community
The Quest 2 blew the others out of the water. It was the first headset to really become mainstream and introduced the whole genre to average people. I think it's done more to expand the community than anything else.
I also started with it, but it kinda ended me into a hole where I no longer play vr. I really loved the pavlov community and I really was happy when playing it, but now since it broke now I just kinda play pc games and work on school more. Taking me away from vr until the quest pro comes out.
From the POV of a literal child I can say the oculus quest 2 is my favorite VR headset (yes I have tried others) Here’s why, while being a very affordable headset it can compete with other expensive headsets like the valve index. The quest is also very simple to set up it took all of ten minutes the most consuming part being making a Facebook account. It also gives light to unpopular games on vr with the app lab and I don’t know about you but I sweat a lot and the oculus can handle it unlike the valve index and the 120 hertz refresh rate is insane I have a friend who has a quest one he tried my quest to and could instantly tell the difference while the head strap is garbage you can get a better one for only forty dollars on Amazon. And being the gorilla tag player I am I can confirm the controllers are seriously durable I’ve hit them so hard I could probably break your nose and it doesn’t even scratch also yes I am in the age recommendation I’m thirteen please don’t give your seven year old one it will open them up to a world of bad things from people.
Quest 2 easily for being packed with software, games and features, capability to be used freely without a PC as well as the option to be used as a PCVR headset, and continued support through updates and experimental features. At the price point it's hard to justify any other headset especially when the competitors are easily double the price or more in some cases. The fact that it's basically good to go out of the box with almost no setup also makes it incredibly accessible and user friendly
I LOVE the cv1. While I do prefer the q2, I think having a cv1 is amazing. It feels better when I am playing Lone Echo, and overall makes it a bit more immersive.
personally i hate the quest 2 compared to the rift s. with the rift s being discontinued, and the quest 2 being, well, lets just say; dead on performance especially with air link or link cable. trying to play pcvr games on the quest 2 is like hell. the link cable doesnt even fix airlink issues, such as steam vr just simply not working with the quest 2. i would complain about the quest being renamed from oculus quest 1/2 to meta quest/meta quest 2, and yes im angry about zuck ruining oculus' name, but i just couldnt care less with more people saying the quest 2 is better than the rift s. i compared a few games on pcvr through the quest 2 and rift s (free ones because im broke lmao). the quest 2 is the first vr headset that i got. it wasnt the best so i got a rift s instead and i was so much happier with the rift s than the quest 2. by a mile if mileage was measured in happiness. i would tell you to get the rift s, but its discontinued and you can only get it second hand or new like £800 on amazon. basically, get whatever vr is vr and have a good day. edit: also the audio is absolutely god awful in the quest unless you are using separate headphones. its alright with the rift s but could be better. i myself do not own a valve index or any others of the like. i only own a quest 2 and rift s. i have heard good things about the valve index however and am leaning a bit towards buying it but really 1k for vr seems crazy. no wonder people love the valve. plus the controllers look great, far better than the quest 2 or rift s controllers. if you have the money, id definitely just say get a valve index, but if you dont have that kinda money to spend on virtual reality, then get a rift s or quest 2. rift s is cheaper than quest 2 somehow so yeah. edit 2: also the rift s is so much lighter than the quest 2. you would think it heavier, but nah.
Admittedly the Oculus rift is my favourite, probably as it's the sole one I own- I have tried the Quest, and while it's alot more portable/accessible, it didn't have the same I guess... "Snap", to it? Like some movements feeling sluggish or delayed, so I do prefer the exterior sensors and the reaction speed they provided!
Yeah, I'm getting a cv1 soon (I'll still keep my quest tho), because of the tracking and just to have it, because I've wanted a cv1 ever since I watched countless videos of it in 2016.
I’ve had the quest 1 quest 2 and rift s, I’d say for PC vr the rift s is better in every single aspect then the one and two, I’ve recently gotten the HTC vive and it’s amazing but I personally never had a issue with the rift s, I’d give it a solid 8/10 everyone I know that uses it loves it, it still holds up today I’d say
My favorite is the quest 2. It is finally a headset that I can comfortably recommend to all of my friends and family. But the original rift will always have a special place in my heart as it got me into VR and turned me into a VR enthusiast.
The oculus quest 2 is my favourite headset, because it got me into VR in the first place, and the reason why I am here watching your amazing videos! I know it’s got some bad things about it, but I feel like it is so far the best option for standalone VR.
@@MidnightNachos “quest go” I know these headsets exist but they’re irrelevant to the average consumer that’s why I said quest 2 is the only option. Oh and btw I have a quest 1 and OCULUS go but do I touch them ever? No
@@mooiiiibbff fr I mean I can’t compare since I’ve only tried the oculus go quest 2 and the oculus rift I think at school since some cars came and promote
i tested the dk1 when they first set up booths of it before the full release. at the time it only had 3dof tracking and the calibration was god-awful. there were two demos, one was a space simulator and the other was some sort of elephant simulator where you swung your trunk around and destroyed stuff by turning your head. i just remember it taking soooooo long to set up for each person.
Quest 2 doesn't have bad audio at all, especially for it to be a speaker 2 inches away. It's very bass-y and it doesn't really project into the room as much as you'd think
My favorite headset is probably the original Oculus Quest. Although it is big and heavy, you don't really notice it if you play for a while. It's also wireless, which is awesome. The reason I chose this over the Quest 2 is because the Quest 1 has a better head strap that is easier to adjust, and also the vision is more clear, so it really feels like you're in another world. The Quest 2 is cool, but it feels more like glasses, and you can see the real world through the bottom of the screen. It prevents motion sickness, but it's still a bit annoying.
My favorite is the quest 2 since you dont need a buffy pc to use it. Also in case you do have a buffy pc you can still wire it up and play more demanding games.
My favorite oculus headset has to be the quest 1, its a really good headset. Its strap was amazing (well at least better than the quest 2) and had some really good games and was pretty compact. I only don’t like the controllers as its pretty weak though.
Personally, I love the Quest 2, it has all of the VR games I've always wanted to play, it has cross play across multiple headsets, and a live and welcoming community!
I would put the rift s on S tier just because it has infinite battery life, its nice to have if you have a very good gaming pc. I did have some audio issues but I fixed it, mainly because I had my Razer headset connected with USB. I would say the controller wrist straps aren't that tight and they loosen after a few minutes of playing.
My favorite is the Oculus Quest 2 because it's a great value for the money, I like the tracking and it's the VR-Headset that got me into VR in the first place.
The oculus quest 2 is my favourite headset, because it got me into VR in the first place, and the reason why I am here watching your amazing videos! I know it’s got some bad things about it, but I feel like it is so far the best option for standalone VR.
The Quest (1&2) is just such an insane value proposition for the money that you pay it makes it so hard not to give it top spot constantly. That it gives you such phenomenal stand alone experiences AND gets you into the PCVR world at SUCH a low cost (assuming you have a VR capable PC) is just unreal. And to be able to do that wirelessly and be so stable is mind blowing. Like it's legitimately as simple as starting the virtual desktop streamer on my PC, then turn on my headset and go to the app and within 30 seconds I'm in playing HL Alyx. Just amazing.
My fav is 1 since it’s the only one I have and yes I got it when it was new and THERE WAS NO DANG METE BRANDING wich i like and like a a couple years before the 2 existed
Got into VR with Windows Mixed Reality but now that I am on the Quest 2 I can't go back, the versatility of being cordless or on my PC is amazing and the price point for entry is very enticing
I’d say my favourite oculus head set (from someone who has only been in vr once) would be the oculus rift. Solely because it was my first exposure to vr, I remember watching a ton of RU-vidrs make videos on it/with it and I just couldn’t get enough of it. It sparked my desire for vr and the wonders it can bring. I’m waiting to buy a headset until after the announcement thing since the chance of an updated quest model being announced is almost guaranteed
I've only ever had a quest 2. I think that the oculus go was the first step in oculus dominating vr, but overall, I'd say the quest 2 is the best simply because it has better specs than everything else, and it can be used as a standalone or pc vr headset.
I do have to say the ability to not need a pc with the quest 2 sets it apart from most headsets and the fact that it can actually compare to some pc headsets is quite impressive Also imagine not being in the discord It’s good
Hi Botted, I have chosen you as the winner of the Synth Riders key giveaway 🎉 Please provide me with either a twitter, instagram, or dummy email I can contact 😃
I personally like the quest 2 the best. I haven’t had a headset yet but I watch RU-vidrs with different VR headsets and I can tell the difference in the quality as well as the design it’s great, might get it tbh.
Just wanted to say thanks for all your videos helping me understand vr. I was going to buy a valve without a pc which would've been bad. Now I'm going to buy a quest 2 and I know all the accessories to buy for a better experience. So thank you for the tips and advice
personally i prefer the quest 2 to any other oculus vr headset since it has the best experience for someone wanting to get into the vr community. it’s the cheapest headset money can buy and you don’t even need a pc. you have a wide variety of games that can get you really sucked into vr and if you want more games and have a pc you can connect it up to your pc without any cost at all (without the cord) you just need to turn on airlink and download the oculus app and steam vr on your pc and you have a wider variety of games into your grasp. oculus quest 2 has a few faults though like some pretty shit controller build and the audio is definitely the shittest thing with the quest 2 but it’s worth the price and i think if you’re looking to get a vr quest 2 is the one to get and is by far my favourite vr headset.
Rift S is definetly my favourite. Although its unreliable, I still love it. PC VR outdoes standalone every single time. Not just the fact that there are much more games to choose from but its also the fact that there are no boundries what so ever. Mods, trackers, always on (you dont need to charge it), and also can look 10 times better then the quest depending on how good your pc is. All of these things and more is what makes PC VR special and its community is perfect.
the fov on the rift s isn't as good as the rift s. imo the quest 2 is just a better rift s. it does everything the rift s does and more. it was my first headset and after trying getting my hands on a quest 2 for the first time, i never went back to my rift s.
I just don't understand why, I played with the quest 2 and the rift s and quest 2 is better at everything and it doesn't even need a gaming pc, but with the help of a gaming pc it gets way way better than the rift s
@@Flex-x no it doesn't mate u have so many limits for it such as its charge, or its strap, or loads and loads of other things aswell, not to mention that it has its own bugs Like iv seen my friends been excused in playing a game countless times dew to the charging problem, and what's the point in taking it places if u need the Internet to do things The rift S is just loads better and alot less complicated I mean today I helped a friend set up a quest 2 for pc gaming and it took me 4 hours to do because it was being difficult, Like it was a pain in the ass and still is, we had to stop because my friend needed to charge the headset and it took nearly all day to charge and by the time we got to do anything it was dead again before we knew it So its pointless to make a pc vr thay takes so much charge out of it when jt ant Hold the charge to Well, and ur probs gonna say buy the battary extender or something and u get an extra 2 hours on it at beat Depends on the game but not my point because no matter what u do to upgrade it the rift S just outlasts it so much more And not only this but the rift S has a much better proformance then the Quest 2 aswell Lower graphics but much much better proformance aswell as easy mod access and easy file locations, even better u can use apps such as discord and store things on ur pc instead of keeping them on both devices so it's more easy to locate things
if you want to get rid of the absolute abundance of synth riders keys you have, then live stream rec-room/vr chat and every time you meet a squeaker, give away one of the keys or.. just give them all to me.. that works too.
@@k1ng_nugget quest 2 game library is quite lackluster and the games it does have are really mediocre. But if you have a vr ready computer, the library is amazing, just like every other headset. However, the quest 2 does have some good titles such as beat saber and blade & sorcery. That being said, many games are lower quality or have less features because of the system requirements.
Quest two has been amazing and whenever I take it off it feels like I have stepped out of a new world. The graphics are great and the must play games are almost always on discount ( a little bonus)
My neck dies so I don’t feel it and also the graphics suck I try to play fnaf help wanted I cant even read the prizes you get for beating a lvl and I see other people do it it’s weird ngl 😂
I think a mash up of the oculus rift and the quest 2 could give a great system with some moding making the quest 2's camera tracking and insides mixed with the body of a oculus rift with some holes for the cameras could help make a better system because the sound could come out of the headphones for better sound quality plus the no tethers needed for it making this a good combo
I have a Rift S and a Quest 2. I find myself going towards the S more often than not because the head strap is the best and toughest strap I've ever seen on a Vr headset
The CV1 will always have a special place in my heart, I might never use it again due to it's specs but I will certainly never ever forget it. My first "VR experience" may have technically been with a £30 phone VR headset but the CV1 feels like the real first step I took into the VR world.
Best vr of all time I love it and the built in headphones also does not look horrible I play with mine so much I also love how cheap it is for pretty much a cheaper version of the htc vive and controllers feel so much better for me
I’m gonna be honest, my favorite headset is the rift s. I really like it’s design, it’s step in my personal life, and it’s comfort. I really like it’s weight and halo strap compared to the quests, (the only other headset that I own) strap. It’s so comfortable, and it’s weight just adds to that. It was my very first headset that was specifically made for computers that I got, and the design of it is just satisfying. The only thing I don’t like about it is it’s audio. It’s microphone is dog shit, and it’s audio quality isn’t any better. But that’s all I have for it. I’m sad to hear it discontinued.
I want to say right now, the Quest 1 is the absolute best price/performance headset available. It can do most of the things the Quest 2 can (and even has a few advantages), and you can get it for $100 on Ebay.
@@john.4987 significantly better blacks (OLED screen), full IPD adjustment range (a must for me), better controllers (personal opinion), better headstrap.
@@Ashley-1917 thats kind of cool, although a little disappointing that the quest 1 has advantages over the quest 2. hopefully the quest 3 will be the best of both worlds
Oh god I can relate to the Rift S stuff, I bought one solely because I didn't know that much about VRheadsets and from what I could see, it was somewhat on the cheaper side "persay", after a little bit of using it though, my friends immediately began to talk about how my mic was staticky, ~it still lives on to this day, as I haven't gotten enough money to buy a better VR headset, will probably just wait till the next/better one is put out before buying another~
@@tempest585 If you have fairly modest hardwares then Rift S is still the better option meanwhile Q2 requires a hefty amount of processing power to look crispy enough, one of the reason being Q2 by default compresses video signal quite noticeably while Rift S offers native signal streaming; but pure PCVR technicalities aside then Q2 indeed is the superior by miles by virtue of being the newer product and the singlemost element of standalone/wireless is already a huge plus. If you invest abit more for some capable accessories then it's not even a question.
I personally own a quest 2, however, I personally like the rift the most. It was the first headset I ever heard of, and also the first one I ever used. I still remember them being launched and seeing them for sale in Best Buy. But you just can’t beat the Quest 2’s pricing. I only bought my Quest 2 Bc it can be standalone but also used with my PC.
The Oculus Quest 2 is the best, but I got to give credit to the DK2. I remember watching jacksepticeye using the DK2 in late 2014 I think, and it just blew my mind. I asked my parents for a DK2 and they said no. Fast forward to 2020, my brother gets a Quest 2. I’m not mad, and I really appreciate my parents for stepping a long way.
My favorite is the Rift S due to it being my starting headset and the head strap design. Also the fact that I know how to mod the headset very well. If you disagree then you are most likely a newer person to the vr community don't know the significance of when inside out came out. I also skipped the quest 1 and have a quest 2 and got 2, 64 GB ones before they stopped selling them.
As a quest 1 user from i would guess 2 months after its release, i would say im used to how heavy it is because of how much beat saber i play but i see why people see it as heavy. I probably will get a quest 2 one day but im a little worried abiut the controllers for beat saber, not much but a little
ive had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with the quest 2 so far, and my rift S has (mostly) worked perfectly so far i think it depends more on opinion
Rift cv1 I still feel was the best, it really did feel like a product they poored love into and the oled and weight still cant be beat, the game that got made for lanuch and for touch where amazing! Quest 2 is great but do miss the days oculus cared for the PC.
