Ranking EVERY Pack For The Sims 4

Cottage Living is my favorite expansion pack simply because of the fact that it brought me to this channel. I was checking out all of the simmers that built for the pack, and when I saw your overview, I knew I'd found my new favorite RU-vidr. Thank you so much for always putting a smile on my face.

I always wanted a tier list of the packs from you for a long time and you did not disappoint. This was so well-edited, and the room showcases of the BB items were great. Hope you do a tier list of the worlds too!

This is probably one of the few ranking videos that I actually enjoyed! Most people rank their packs in a very similar way, they never try to look objectively at the whole pack like you did here. It's obvious that Journey to Batuu is not your cup of tea, but you still looked for plus sides there and appreciated the furniture. So many packs are underappreciated because of one or two things and not discussed further. Loved the execution of this video as well, you are always so thorough and detailed with your creations and it just shows that you really enjoy what you do! :) Thank you so much for a great video again.

See, Eco Lifestyle is my favorite pack next to Spa Day. I love yoga and I practically have all my sims get into it. I also love the idea of self sustainability and creating a better, cleaner world so that's why Eco Lifestyle is the best for me!

I would love to see a build using only your need it packs!

What I would give for EA to update some of these older packs like they did with Spa day with the nails. Dine out could’ve been so much better 😭

Thank you for actually showing the packs as you talked about them, it helped me remember which came with what - it's easy to forget. Must've taken a fair bit of time to set it all up. I agree with most of your assessments, especially the "need it"-tier, those expansions with the base game will make for a good experience if you don't want to, or can't afford, all the packs (honestly, who can at this point, it's like almost $1k for all of it all together now).

Thanks for the perfect bar build in cottage living. I love just taking my sim there when I've had a particularly bad day at work irl. I always have thought that EA should get the designers of that world to go back and touch up all the others. Love your channel. I have learned so much. Thanks.

I agree with the majority of your ranking. The only significant difference would be cats and dogs for me. I was a Sims 3 player before I switched to the Sims 4 some years ago and the difference between the pets packs was insane. I loved watching my sims' pets in the Sims 3 and could do so for hours, in the Sims 4 my first dog spent 90% of the time standing still in the bathroom. That was a very disappointing experience. Also, the amount of strays in Brindleton Bay is heartbreaking.

Cottage living is by far my favorite. The replay value and the build/buy are just stunning as well as the world. I've never been so engulfed in just playing the game as I was when I got it. I'm usually just building when I play, so it definitely shows a lot to me if it can pull me to play it as well.

This is super helpful Aden! I didn't get to watch the entire video just yet but I'm glad to see all the packs I own in the 'Good' to 'Need It.' I have been appreciating the gameplay (and mostly build stuff) from each of these packs so far. Still looking to add Vampires, Spa Day, and Outdoor Retreat to complete my collection for now (I'm not particularly keen on investing in most of the stuff packs and kits for money's sake).

Hi Aden! I trust your judgement on so much of this stuff, as someone who prefers build/buy myself. One thing I've always been curious about and never really seen, is a ranking/overview of pack interactivity. Like how x pack integrates/impacts y pack. I have always thought this is a big decider about how to choose which to pay for, especially because from what I can tell, sometimes packs seem to exist in a bubble, and when there is a feature that integrates well, half the time I never really hear about it until a simmer on RU-vid casually mentions it and EA doesn't seem to promote those overlaps. It just makes good sense to buy packs that play well together after all. Would love to see your take on that! Thanks for another great video. I think you’re one of the few game changers (I don’t remember any one else but I could be wrong, I don’t follow everyone) that feels the way I did about High School Years.

Love getting some commentary from you as well as your fantastic builds. I think it's interesting to hear from different creators which packs they value over others. Get Famous always gets rated low but I quite like it for the run down area of Del Sol Valley. I would say that and the Spice District of San Myshuno are my favourite areas for starting Rags To Riches challenges, and having my sim live in what I imagine being a crime ridden, anti social area before moving somewhere nicer.

I hope you have a great time this weekend. And I appreciate the thought and insight on the pack selection in the rankings, that said I want to first say--Thank you for not putting JTB in the nope pile!! I am kidding but when there were no Force powers, I thought, what's the point?? I was listening to you I began to notice that pack after pack had glitches and bad gameplay. I cannot believe we put up with so many bad packs! That said the one pack I do not regret buying is Parenthood. And I have to ask because I don't remember, did we have ghosts in the base game when it started? If not then ghosts would be the first occult, if you consider them occult. Then there is another thing I realized, the Sims don't give their packs catchy names. The pack name sounds like meh, so it is hard to hype up the pack when it sounds so boring and the gameplay glitchy. Take High School, for instance, it needs so much in-game play, more class activities, and more afterschool activities, and the hang-out places Now the hang-out place was alright, but they needed to have the After Prom party there, yes there, just decorate it and have a cooler for food and a deck for dancing, a gazebo for couples to have quiet time, and of course parents to chaperone to keep them from getting in trouble. Finding a way to keep from getting caught by their parents would be great gameplay. The blah hang-out place is a metaphor for the pack itself, sparse and vacant with not a lot to do. Sorry for the long rant, but you did bring up a lot of good points and I want to thank you for doing these rankings.

I love your video's, so it feels like ab-so-lute heresy to suggest something to make it better. Yet here i am, wondering what it would be with the addition of a DOGGY CAM! I mean, your voice, the beauty of your designs AND a tiny extra cam where we can see your adorable dog take a nap... The idea warms my heart.

Pretty much the same enjoyed this because it was very comprehensive my only difference was get together Xpack I see this as the must have it is the most versatile and integrated pack imo I use the group setting in all sorts of ways has allowed me to form an art studio in the art gallery at san Myshuno and where after I’ve mastered the in game art career my artist sims do a residency at the gallery paint and sculpt and mentor other aspiring artists. Or allow my sims to take up occupancy on lots that have eMpty space such as the karaoke bar or pub. Or as a homeless sim I can sneaky squat in an empty lot etc or have kids attend school or have after school clubs the possibilities are endless. The world the build buy items are some of the best in the game.

My First Pet-nope My First Pet blinds?.......need it! (as bad as that pack is it has an amzing set of blinds that I use all the time, almost worth it for that alone!).

Thank you so much for sharing your ranking system. As a builder myself, I tend to agree with a lot of your opinions. I don't have most of the kits, as a lot of them are more geared to CAS and I rarely play the game anymore. I'd probably play a bit more if the more recent pack/xpack/etc releases weren't so broken at the start. That has killed my love of the game, truth be told.

Thank you for this video Aden... there were some surprises I must admit. But I strongly agree with you on The Journey to Baatu pack ... waste of time. In truth, I have, sadly 😬🤷🏽‍♀️, not actually played all the storylines in each pack ie Strangerville, ROM etc but I guess I should. I dont have all packs (Bust the dust and Mens Fashion, yet to get the latest kits though) but I still prefer Sims 3 to 4.

i agree with the parenthood and seasons because i love packs that brings depth into the gameplay. sims can get boring so that really help with the everyday gameplay. since i am not a builder i really enjoy that aspect. i love achieving something when i play. the worlds are also important i love the English country side and windenburg it creates this cozy feeling idk. but i dont really enjoy the worlds like strangerville and glimmer brook all the occult worlds. because if you just want to play in that world as a normal family the supernatural things is ruining the vibe. i also love tiny living because it brought the lot traits it makes you want to build small all the time i use it often when i play rags to riches
