Ranking EVERY Palutena's Guidance in Super Smash Bros Ultimate 

This was probably some of the most fun I’ve had editing a video! Even if the idea is kinda silly and dumb 🔥🔥🔥

I like to imagine that if Joker had a guidance, Palutena would say “For his neutral special, he wields a gun”

Pit and palu: worried about fighting lucas Viridi: *yeet the child*

I think Pit knowing about Simon might also be a reference to Captain N. That would be an extremely obscure reference.

Shout-out to the VAs, by the way, for bringing so much personality to these characters. Viridi in particular absolutely nails the hyperactive, cocky vibe, it's a joy to listen to.

I really like *Palutena's Guidances* since they actually take advantage of Smash being a crossover game *Also shoutout to Zelda Universe on RU-vid who made Guidance conversations for the DLC fighters who didn't get one*

Another thing I love about the piranha plant guidance is that Viridi's list is pretty exhaustive. It covers not only the mainline Mario games but also many of the spinoffs, like Paper Mario.

The Plautena's Guidances are so unique. A great little detail that they didn't even need to add. I remember in the Smash 4 days I struggled to get it to work...

If someone took a shot every time Viridi says Piranha, they’d be dead. Also, I really like Palutena’s Guidance since it references Pit’s ability to see past the fourth wall.

I wish they made more of these for the DLC characters

5:29 Funnily enough, Pit’s voice actor, Antony Del Rio, voiced a character in fates who claimed he wanted to “ride” Corrin. I’m not kidding.

The DLC not having Guidances is so disappointing. Would have loved to see stuff like having Pit freak out over having his heart changed against Joker, or be hyped up by seeing Banjo, or wondering why Steve is so blocky, or pointing out how similar him and Sora are, etc.

I always liked these hidden conversations. The ones about Luigi are actually really sweet when you look closely at them. Yes, Luigi is put down, but Snake and Pit both immediately stand up for him. Snake is all "Dude, not cool!" and Pit references the Year of Luigi. It implies that the man in green is actually well thought of among the fighters.

Man, Lucas's has to be the best for the sheer mood whiplash.

I think I would have given Ness's guidance a bit more credit, because Palutena's line with Pit, ("Said the angel to the goddess"), was pretty funny.

I do have a valid reason why Rosalina is a caring mother. When Sakarai was developing Smash 4, he wanted a puppet fighter and a way to represent Mario Galaxy, so he made Rosalina and Luma into one fighter. He didn't take into account the lore of Galaxy when designing her move set, so she still is a caring mother in the Mario universe. And before I get bashed from people saying I'm a Rosalina Stan. She's only my third favorite princess.

The one with Simon could also be a reference to the cartoon series "Captain N: The Game Master" where Pit, Mega Man and Simon were main characters.

In the Mario Galaxy lore (which I don’t expect you to know because you inexplicably don’t like the games), Lumas are in an infinite cycle of death and rebirth, much like actual stars. Mario Galaxy’s ending had all of the Lumas diving into a black hole in order to save the universe. They’re very selfless, and Palutena even said that they’d sacrifice themselves for Rosalina. She’s not mercilessly sending them into battle. - A Rosalina Supremacist

Isn't it weird that they changed Robin's conversation to fit that Chrom is in smash, but not change their Final Smash to something different.

The Piranha plant guidance was definitely one of my favorites. I'm glad that it got number 1 😁❤️

You should rank Snake’s codecs too. There aren’t many it’s just the brawl characters but it’d be cool Ps if you don’t know why he didn’t get more, it’s because before the launch of ultimate, one of the voice actors for it passed away. And rather than try and replace him, they thought it best to just let it be.

I think for Falcon's Guidence the line "watch out for his jump-and-falcon punch combo" is a reference to the Subspace Emissary because that is what he does when you first get to see him.

In retrospect, the farm COULD even be a reference to Poké Pelago in the, at the time, most recent Pokémon games, Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon. It is basically a farm for your Pokémon to play at, so maybe? I mean obviously the main joke is the dead pet thing but let me dream :(

Honestly the Palutena's Guidance conversations are probably my favorite thing in smash, there's just so mych character and references abound in them.

Honestly the Lumas in Galaxy seem to crave death. Giving themselves up to create star warps, eating so much they explode, etc. A lot of galaxy is built around death and rebirth, and I bet the lumas crave to die for Rosa

Olimar and alph have notable differences such as job, personality (if you think Olimar has personalities) and motivations,it's not as easy as it is for koopalings as they all have one big thing in common

For Rosalina, she's bound to have experience when it comes to the Lumas. So, she's probably is aware of it and doesn't really like it. But she can't really stop it because if she did it would mess up their world badly. She's basically become very null to the cycle since we don't how long she's lived, but she's clearly seen it for a long time. It's life, she had to accept it.

Jump and falcon punch combo means jumping, activating falcon punch in midair, and landing next to your opponent. It catches most inexperienced players off guard

The Steve and Iron Man joke made me laugh way harder than I thought it would

My fave character is Snake and Snake’s Pit tutorial is really solid also pointing out references from the Metal Gear Solid series so it might be my favorite guidance so far

Paultena's Guidance is a fun little Easter egg. I prefer these over the Snake Codecs from Brawl. Robin had my favorite conversation from Smash 4, but it makes sense why their guidance was changed due to Chrom being a proper fighter now. Link is another character who I think had a better conversation in Smash 4, although his changed conversation again makes sense. Alucard guest-starring in Richter's conversation was nice, though I'm not much of a Castlevania fan. Young Link had some fun stuff too, as does Pokémon Trainer, Wolf, and the Ice Climbers. I agree about Sonic having a weaker one; even in Smash 4 I thought that it was too generic. Likewise, Olimar and Alph could have been name-dropped. The nitpicks on Game & Watch's #9 and Diddy's speed and power are a tad much; I imagine that both characters had simple generalizations, but what do I know.

Fun fact: the generic "no data on this fighter" dialogue was once used for all of the Smash 4 DLC fighters before they got proper entries in Ultimate.

Viridi saying booyah is a reference to the fact that there is a button that lets you say Booyah in Splatoon

These guidance things are so incredibly cool

Palutena implying its gonna be a massacre is a subtle reference to the fact that if you main palutena I am going to come find you

I'd recommend Zelda Universe they did their own Paultenas Gudince for all the DLC and their worth a look from Pit trying to become Steve's freind, Sephroith roasting Pit saying he can't fly with two wings when he can fly with one, a Smacktalk match between Sophis and Virdi, Pit, Paultena and Virdi singing Simple and Clean, Paultena making a 358 days reference when Virdi tries to explain Kingdom Hearts lore, to even a Easter Egg where they do Banjo and Kazooies guidance in the Grunts and stuff from their own game

I like to think that all of the characters just hear Viridi and Palutena just in the sky, so when the Lucas one came I laughed for like 5 minutes
