I mean if 1 bad game killed a franchise we’d never have gotten devil may cry 3 or 5, the surge 2, street fighter 6, dark souls 3 and other great sequels. 😅😅😅😅
@@atwistedb no, it went POSTAL, SUPER POSTAL, POSTAL 2, POSTAL 2 Apocalypse Weekend, POSTAL Paradise Lost, POSTAL 4 No Regerts, they enter skipped straight to 4, Postal Paradise Lost is POSTAL 3
@@MonkeySupa7 Postal: Paradise Lost is the CANON Postal 3, Postal 3 actually existed but the whole planet earth forgot about it cuz that game was truly cowshit
fun fact: the og postal game (and its redux to an extent, despite basically being the same game) actually has a hidden story, in 1997 it was found in the manual but in the redux it's found in the hard/nightmare mode, which is pretty sick.
I only played 2 back in the day.. Is 4 worth playing just to get a little postal fix? I've considered getting it for my Playstation for a while but I'm scared incase it's a broken mess like 3
@@mullaoslo I'd say It's worth it, if you have the time! Postal 4 is way bigger than 2 and it gets pretty mindless towards the end, so It can feel like a big commitment. If you don't have much free time, I'd recommend replaying Postal 2 with all the new expansions instead, It's cheaper, shorter and requires less troubleshooting.
I'd argue that Postal Redux and Postal 1 are different games and deserve to be separated. The combat is almost totally different. And the endings. Source: I have hundreds of hours on Redux and 20-30 ish on the original
Okay, I found a guy who wasted 5.500 hours on POSTAL 1 in steam. What do you guys find in that game? Like, I love it a lot but content runs out after max 10 hours.
I have played it and holy shit its as bad as they say it is IF NOT worse. Anyone who says its fixable or is only bad because of some glitches is way too far gone to ever admit anything isn’t flawless in a Postal game.
As a Postal fan I gotta say original Postal and Postal 2 are the only great Postal games. The first one taking the seriousness about madness and the second one making it a satire where everyone is insane. The third one is a bad joke and the 4th one is a desperate intent of saying "We exist and Postal is back" but making it so stupid and in a bad way. Postal Brain Damage is good but I feel that is dedicated to a complete diferent fan base compared to the ones from the first games. Redux imo takes away the intention of the original and makes it a random sandbox just to have fun. And I kinda hate it. EDIT: Been playin Redux like crazy so...I regret my comment
i'm relatively new to this franchise but i think that with the passing of time the things that the postal series satirizes and its humor keep getting less and less relevant, and that definitely shows in the newer games. while i have a lot of respect for RWS, i wish they'd change the formula a bit to make postal's themes more relevant to modern times, or, alternatively, some new, young team made a game similar to postal except with current humor/social commentary.
They actually did lol although not how you think. They literally said not to buy the game in the description of the game when you tried to buy it. They allowed a large russian studio to make the game for them, but when the economy collapsed, Russia got hit really hard and the company again outsourced it to a small inexperienced team who cut corners, rushed through it and basically released their alpha build. RWS was extremely pissed off having their name on it. Especially because the team who made it wouldnt even let them fix the game via patches and expansions. Eventually they took the game from their store altogether. To this day they will apologize to people who bought it on X and talk about how they hate that it was released.
I'd be down if RWS went full Warhammer 40K with their IP and just let tons of indie devs make postal games in a variety of genres and they just took a cut of the revenue from all of them. It'd infuse the series with variety and imagination, and like Brain Damaged the indie spin-offs would probably have better polish and gameplay.
Yeah, they have a licensing fee, and they take a cut of the revenue. But they're pretty liberal with lending the IP, that's why there's so many Warhammer 40K games in so many genres, and why so many are middling\janky. The Space Hulk game (modern one) was from a dev with one indie game under their belt. And their third game was the Necromunda FPS.@@SkippySanctus
Fucking hell bro, I just discovered this series. I got no regerts on PS5, I pee into some persons mouth, run some advertisement and then I did the early mission in the prison. This shit is fun, I am not exactly loving it but let me tell you that I am the kind of person who can play this game, it doesn't offend me and overall I find it kinda funny.
Thats kind of like when games make fun of a feature...but still keeping the damn feature. Like in multiple Ubisoft games a character will say something lto the effect of "Do I seriously have to climb towers? Thats stupid!" or something like that....but then you keep having to do it.
Postal Redux does have a better set up campaign from Postal 4. Also Postal 4 wasn't completed among it's release. The top two Postal games are very decent in their own right.
Postal Redux "works", and Hatred just doesnt. What i mean by that is basically "Postal Redux Better", but reason is because of the story. Hatred is so bland, its just "man gets angry and all emo and kills people", Postal Redux on the other hand is "Postal Dude has gone clinically insane and delusional, thinking hes the only sane man left in Paradise, and he thinks he doing the world a favor by killing bloodthirsty lunatics who are actually innocent people". Hatred is Edgy for the same of being edgy, and Postal Redux is edgy for the sake of being dark and unnerving
Postal 4 is a work in progress like postal 2 was. Postal 4 given the amount of time the 2nd one had will bring it up to standard. Not long ago it got a big update which included dropkicking. It will be better, rws never has been known for stable or finished games at launch
I personally enjoyed postal 3 it’s my second favorite in the series I enjoyed the story and gameplay mostly because I played with mods Also you don’t need to use the taser 24/7 a lot of missions in the good path let you use guns tho if your talking about getting the pacifist ending yea you can only use the taser and fart gun
I love this series. I just finished playing through postal redux and all of postal 2 in preparation for postal 4 releasing on PS5 in a few days. I would've played through postal 3 but after it was D-listed the game can no longer be played without heavy modding due to the stupid DRM.
Postal 2 is better than Postal 4 imo but ONLY because of Paradise Lost which 4 is much more of a successor to. Postal 4 honestly fixes almost every if not every problem with postal 2 had and the gameplay feels the exact same it just has less content. Paradise lost’s story is also insanely good and they literally made a game that had almost no story and no true major characters feel like they were always major characters and overarching story and thats Damn impressive.
It's funny but I only recently got into the Postal series. And I've been playing the two games that released on Switch. Redux and Brain Damaged, which I adore BD. The most fun I've had with a BoomShoot in a while. I really wished Switch would get a port of 2 and it's expansions.
I have to say that I would put Postal 4 above Postal Redux/1. Yes i played Postal Redux and 1 and yes it was deep, but Postal 4 is keep getting updates, new co op mode is coming soon, its atm only Postal game which can get TONS of new stuff in relatively short period of time.
Great review on these! I just think it got repetitive of how you kept comparing every other game to Postal 2, basically giving it away that it was going to be #1 on the list.
I thought about trying postal 3, but after seeing this video, i might end up getting postal 4 and brain damaged, i'll probably like postal 4 because its the closet thing to a postal 2 remake of sorts.
I actually used footage from my old review I made of the game many many years ago on an older computer. The game doesnt seem to work like at all on modern hardware these days. Not missing anything though to be honest!
For me it's like this: 5. Postal 4 4. Postal 3 3. Postal 2. Brain Damage 1. Postal 2 It's funny to see RWS still shitting on Postal 3 when they made a game (Postal 4) that is almost the same in terms of quality.
i agree but it feels even worse since postal 4 had no excuse to be that horrible since it was made entirely in house so they didnt have communication problems or dealing with another dev its 100% on RWS
@@randomdude9630 just so you know p2 was very poorly performant and crashed a lot and had very bad loading times when it came out. Calling p2 lightning in a bottle when it came out is bad revisionist history. When we released it it, it was panned and didn’t sell well and also had all those issues. We just fixed it over the years and it really wasn’t what it is today until 2012/13.
@@mikejaret I have been playing p2 since 2010 and the game was perfect. I don't know how it was in 2003 but that was still before the Steam launch so I don't think it was that different.
I love postal 3 hear me out okay, it's a unique design for a postal game because its it 3th person and all the new ones are made in same style as 2,i like postal 2 don't get me wrong (same tier with 3 ngl) I just want to say its worn out, back to what i was saying that i like postal 3, the only minus is that you have to kill uncle dave in the good ending, but the game as a game is awesome, i bought it off steam recently and i regret nothing (if i made any mistakes english is not my native language)
the funniest thing is: even though postal 3 is so shit, i still enjoyed playing that game, there was just something about the way the game looks and works that struck me, i had a fun time playing it personally.
@@MrPresttoSauceAbsolutely not. Saying something like "Postal 1 has no humor at all" is all i needed to hear. Not to mention, Postal 1 has a story, actually a much more deeper story than any postal game
For me is: 1.Postal 2 2.Postal 2 - Paradise Lost 3. Postal 4 4. Postal Brain Damage 5. Postal/Postal Redux 6. Postal 3. - I added Postal 2 PL to my ranking, because it's like the real postal 3 in game plot
i hear the legends of the most edgy game ever and how it was band in a thousand countries back in the day, now after playing all of the games i must say is kinda cool but not sure if is that ofensive, i mean to modern standars it must be the coming of the anticrist how ever i see it more as lowkey fun, is not as near as disturb as people nade it up, theres certenly now a days more right down depraved stuff no just in the internet but in games now a days
You spend so much of the intro just calling the game edgy and even alluding that it shouldn't be. It's making me wonder why you even bother with covering these games if their humor bothers you so much.
He explicitly says that he played a lot of postal in his childhood because of the edgy humor. I guess he still has love for the game because of nostalgic reasons
You give your game to russians, where you can do all the crazy funny stuff, and they somehow ruined it))))) Btw akella has their hands on worst postal 2 dlc too
Lo que no me gustó de las entregas posteriores al Postal 2 que para mí es un juegazo es que le quitaron ese toque realista y a la vez de humor negro a la violencia que tenía el 2 es por eso que para mí este último es el mejor Postal.
Postal 3 is never going to feel comfortable in game play even with patching mods that are just games or DLCs that are just games are hundreds times better than 3 I love working jank not broken jank
One is a game no publisher would ever publish two might been published by a company if toned down but i believe 6 or 7 DLC games were made 3 is shit no working around that 4 and brain damage is looking dumb funny and is Mike J and Vince are some of the funniest video game producers ever
POSTAL 2 IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW GAMES THAT YOU CAN COMPLETE WITHOUT KILLING ANYONE....... ( THANKS FOR BEING JESUS ) AND THATS WHY I LIKE THIS GAME! MORE THAN GTA 5
the game series is fun for the offensive humor. but postal 4 is kinda lacking in gameplay, idk. i guess the "combat" is still the same and it just doesnt feel interesting. same as p2
Redux had a completely different ending than the original Postal. It's a lot more toned down and less controversial, two things that RWS games should never be.
say what you want about postal 3 but it is 200x better than postal 3 since atleast has alot of what makes the postal series postal and if it werent for the bugs and shitty aiming id say it would be the second best postal game but id say its just barely above redux mainly because i just have more fun in p3 than both redux and p4 [for context ive beaten postal 3, 4 times and only beaten postal 4 and redux once]
honestly I have no idea why the hate on Postal 3. Yes, it is buggy, and jesus 3rd person for me is a huge letdown but overall the chaos and the style of it places it way above any other game with the exception of P2.
Too dumb humor, no satire and super buggy. I liked Postal 2, so I waited for Postal 3. I was super excited when they said it will be on Source Engine. When it came out I read reviews and was shocked. Like no, it can't be so bad. And it was, I even couldn't finish it, it constantly crashed at Chinese underground location. So, I thought it's enough and deleted the game. From what I know it was developed by russian developers, they was super lazy, art and 3d models was actually nice, but code is utterly broken and story is just absurdity and not funny at all.
@@homersimpson8955 well, guess I was lucky with my playthrough. I started the same way, saying it cannot be that bad, but then at some point I stopped caring and despite it was nowhere near as unique as postal 2 I still got to enjoy it. This suprised me too. Let us hope we will live to see the day when something as wicked as P2 comes out. Speaking of which I just saw a speedrun of Grezzo 2. Enough said :D
Only Postal 1 is a culturally relevant game to me, and Redux has better controls. The rest of the franchise have little to do with the original, it's just all watered down, pseudo-edgy, full of trashy humor and lame jokes, the experience doesn't different from the average post-doomclone shooters with mediocre graphics. As always, each his own!
@@homersimpson8955 Postal 2 only worked back in the day, It was the 2000s, but for today standards it's starting to show the cracks. It's not a bad game at all, my main issue is that the story was never that clever.
