All I can imagine is pepa in a battle. Like, just imagine if one of her kids were in danger. You already know the stories of regular people lifting cars to save their kids, imagine that, BUT WITH HER

As shown in Antonio's room, he actually can control the animals he talks to, as the jaguar didn't attack any of the animals in the room, and none of the animals fled. Another thing, with how fast that jaguar got there, it must've been very close to the village already,.so being able to know a dangerous animal is around, and controlling it, is very useful in a jungle.

I guess, now that you mentioned it, Isabella could do anything Luisa could do. A house could be lifted by a redwood growing under it, and vines can capture escaped donkeys. She can also do much of what Peppa's powers could eventually do -- eg regrow forests during droughts. And do you really need intel from supersonic hearing or shapeshifting if you can just...kill the enemy from afar by growing Nightshade directly into their stomach? The only person she can't really outperform is Julietta. Also, as a sidenote, another bad side of Antonio's powers is that he now can communicate directly with the animals they kill and eat. So his gift is less a blessing and more a curse, when you think about it. If he manages to convince everyone to stop eating his friends, they'll really need Isabella to grow them a village's worth of vegetarian options.

I totally get you on Julieta. Any D & D player (or any game of that style) will tell you a healer in the party is the greatest asset you can have.

I think that Dolores should be on the bottom because with that insane hearing, she doesn't have a way to turn it down. And we know that Dolores can't turn her hearing down because in the scene with Antonio when the fireworks go off, you can actually see her covering her ears. So someone that is simply talking next to her would be torture on her eardrums.

Based on the argument of helping others, then I agree with the list overall, especially with the top spots. However, Bruno's ability is potentially more useful because for instance with Mirabel's first prophecy, the future isn't always decided, it can go one of two ways and in those cases, knowing the options can help make the best decision. As for Dolores' power, I see several limitations to her ability. Yes, she could hear what is being discussed behind closed doors, but that relies on people actually speaking (what if they're communicating in writing?), and assuming she understands their languages.

One thing to support Pepa (even though I agree with her placement in the ranking), there are several X-Men stories where Storm's powers are also affected by her emotions. It's why she's always the one on the team that seems so aloof or detached, if she lets her emotions run as wild as the others, there's a decent chance that a looooooot of people die.

On the question of Julietas powers, I think a reasonable explanation might be that the degree to which her food is healing is proportional to the time and energy she puts into it; as opposed to it being a binary in which the food is healing or non-healing. I always saw her power as being the ability to heal with love. So she can stand in the town square, handing out arepas to cure simple ailments and injuries, but if someone was seriously ill or hurt then she might actually cook them a proper meal. And a grain of rice would be lucky to heal a papercut. But I dont think the ability to scale up this power is particularly important, I dont think she needs to take the responsibility of healing all the world. Caring for her community is enough.

For Bruno: couldn’t one argue that the Avengers only got that chance to kill thanks because doctor Strange saw that one future where they actually did it and therefore knew what needed to be done to get there? Then seeing the future would be actually the only thing that made it possible to kill thanks and would therefore make Bruno the strongest

Counter point for Bruno: he can predict floods and earthquakes and catastrophic events and thus save thousands if not millions of lives 😅

I love how plant based powered characters aren’t seen as much. It makes it more fun when I see one! And they all seem to be unique in their own way!

Camilo's power has a lot of potential if he could turn into animals too, we already know he can do partial transformations because he shapeshifts his head into a babies head by accident when the power starts to fade. If he can turn parts of his bodies into certain animals then you have a Beastboy or Envy situation which is very strong and extremely versatile. Also I agree with Bruno being in last place, his power gave me a Cassandra vibe from Greece Mythology, despite being about to see future events, it's rarely taken seriously and is often bad news or really obscure what the meaning is.

If we're ranking for potential to do good, this list is pretty good, though you're undervaluing Bruno for the reasons others have given. If we're ranking raw power, as in... what could a villain do with it? Then that changes the list dramatically and Camilo also shoots up for his ability to impersonate world leaders.

Just wanted to say that Luisa would be able to a major powerhouse in expansion. She would likely be the most accurate way to clear out literally anything. Terrain is something that is very hard for us to get around still. With her strength, she'd be able to turn even mountains into farmlands in more than likely a day or two.

I like the general vibe of this video. It's refreshing to view "Power" being who has the capability of doing the greatest amount of good and not just who could break the most stuff.

I think Antonio's ability is more than talking with animals - he also projects an aura of friendliness. Many of the animals in Antonio's resense aren't other animal or even other human friendly. Did any one else notice how the animals whi Antonio "talks" to are also friendly to the huans around him.

One thing about Antonio's power, I'm pretty sure he does have some amount of control or influence over animals, not just the ability to speak to them. After all a whole menagarie of animals come to him from the forest as soon as he gets his powers. That alone is more that just the ability to speak to them.

Cinema Therapy did a good bit on how the family’s powers were analogous to therapy techniques. Camilo represents mirroring, where you respond to a person’s behavior with similar behavior and questioning.

Bruno's Gift represents insight, intuition and intellect. How can that be useless?? Actually it was Bruno's power that helped Mirabel save the magic in the movie. The whole point was that Bruno's Gift was not useless, it was just pathologized and twisted by the people around him. His power was rendered "useless" because of how the people in his universe REACTED to his Gift. They decided to dismiss it and him because they didn't want to face and to deal with reality, while a wiser crowd could have done a lot with his prophesies and the information they were given. You are basically seeing Bruno's Gift through the lens of those same people.

I think you are forgetting the most powerful one, Mirabel. When we consider the XMen or the Avengers, we know that they are so unbeatable because they work together. Why? Because they have a leader that builds them up, cares for them, and then keeps them cooperating where other “leaders” would ultimately falter. Mirabel is their leader that managed to bring their powers to greater heights where Abuela ultimately met the dictators downfall in pushing them all apart, thereby removing their powers. That is why I think Mirabel should be the queen of this list. She ultimately keeps their powers growing strong

Also, I just thought of this, but I like to think that Mirabel’s gift is the ability to heal her family’s bonds and the miracle itself. It would connect her gift to her mother’s gift.

The thing about Camillos shapeshifting is that he also takes on the physical attributes of those who he is turning into, so he should be able to gain strength or, as shown in the movie, height. Granted, he wouldn't be able to get Luisas level of strength on account of that being a gift granted by Casita, but he should be able to make use of some higher athletic ability. In this way, he could be useful in emergency situations, not only in calming people down by taking the form of a friendly familiar face, but also helping out with getting people out of the situation. I don't know if that would place him any higher on the list, but it just seems more useful than you made it out to be. (Also, I don't see how the espionage aspect to Dolores' super hearing is more powerful than shapeshifting.)

I also think it’s important that Pepa’s power is difficult to control because the Earth NEEDS to go through different weather patterns naturally in order to maintain balance

On the subject of Julieta, I think her limit is it having to be a full meal. In the song, Mirabel says "she can heal you with a meal" And I seem to remember, every time she heals someone, she feeds them an entire arepa. Think of it as a sandwich being a full meal. It's a completed unit, and I don't think a singular grain of rice counts as a meal Arepas are just what she's most comfortable and familiar with cooking

if you remember Isabella picking up the cactus, the thing was sitting on a thin flower. And there was no sign of any damage to any surface that her plants grew on throughout the movie. i wouldn't be surprised if her plants have the caviat of having no roots, and thus being very short-lived. Maybe still good for feeding people, but i don't think any regrown forests would be able to stick around too long.

One thing about Bruno's power you may have missed: it gives you a snapshot in time. That piece is fixed, as mentioned... but nothing around it is. For example, he told Isabela that, "the life of her dreams would be promised..." and Dolores that Mariano would be, "betrothed to another." In both cases, he was almost certainly seeing Mariano kneeling to Isabela, about to propose. But Mariano didn't marry Isabela, he's dating Dolores now. So was Bruno wrong? No, the image he saw was true, but there were circumstances around it that we didn't see. So what we could do with his power is be the Mirabel to Mariano's proposal, as it were =p . Yes, this bad thing is going to get very close to happening... but since we know about it, we can put a response team in place to stop it right before it does happen. We know we can't stop the thief from getting in the room and stealing the crown jewels... but we can be waiting right outside afterwards with a pair of handcuffs!

personally I think the future would be really good to know because for example say there was a massive fire that killed an entire village (let's say the entirety of Bruno's village) and Bruno foresaw that. He could then say what he saw and save his entire village. That's a pretty strong power imo.

The only issue with Bruno's power not being important is the whole main problem in the movie. From what is shown, Major events are bot certain and can be changed. With that in mind, his prophecies would be incredibly important. Not only that, but he can offer people the peace of mind to know the little things that will happen and plan for what happens next. A minor example, I'd be a lot less upset if I knew I was for certain at one point going to rip my pants, since I'd be able to pack an extra pair of pants.

As someone who has Misophonia (a disability where certain sounds trigger uncontrollable anxiety / rage) I can tell you that Dolloras is SUFFERING from her own ears (I joke that if my hearing were any more sensitive, I would be here DOG WHISTLES)

There are many dangerous things you can do with plants: carnivorous plants, deadly/poisonous plants, hallucinogenic plants, thorns/needles/spikes, and any combination of all of those. We saw Isabella make vines that can that punch, now imagine that those veins were also full of nightshade berries, poison ivy, and cactus needles.

Another consideration regarding Juileta is that it also appears that she has to physically serve the food she cooks herself. In every case where her cooking is used to heal, she is the one serving her food to the sick or injured person. That would reduce the number of people her gift can help at once.

couldn’t Isabella grow rice for her mother and then just like… heal everybody? I feel like Abuella really limited her abilities by making her this perfect flowery girl instead of using them to actively help those in the village. Also, with Peppa being able to control the weather, we could switch to renewable energy sources if she kept the skies clear and the wind blowing.

As someone with sensitive hearing, Dolores' power would be absolutely terrible to have

I get the extrapolation viewpoint and it makes for some really compelling arguments but within the confines of the story the original triplets actually have an interesting set of powers between them that is somewhat continued by their kids. The three of them provide some of the most essential parts of a society. Julieta can heal anything, providing healthcare for the people. Pepa can control the weather, allowing crops to grow efficiently and providing food (which works well in tandem with her neice Isabela). And Bruno can see the future which could provide warnings of external threats to the people (which is also aided by Delores's ability to hear things coming from a mile away). The other children have more community-sustaining powers that provide for the infrastructure of the town (Luisa being able to do any heavy lifting, and Antonio can basically stop the problem of pests by communicating a way for both animals and humans to get what they need).

Theres one thing you're not getting, all the powers that the characters get are all useful in wartime situations. Remember that the Encanto magic started after a war where their Abuelo was killed and as such the Encanto gave them powers that would help them fight back in a repeat situation. Louisa's super strength is super helpful in a war. Lisa's power over plant life can help them in guerilla warfare. Bruno's power need no imagination to explain its use. Dolores can hear enemy plans or help come up with counter measures. Camilo's shape shifting can be used for infiltration. Antonio's power can help in guerilla warfare utilizing animals and also using them as beasts of burden. Pepa can help whip up unfavourable conditions for the enemies. Julieta heals the troops. I mean you get the general idea

I think the thing that really makes Isabella number one isn't even just making any plant but doing that with absolutely no resources. She's basically creating matter and energy. Not only is this great for food but they can use wood to warm their houses, different plants for illness and for keeping out intruders since that's why their own was originally founded she can make a wall of trees and other vines and planets that they would have to try and break through before getting anywhere.

I didn't watch this video yet, but I remember having this discussion with some people. I strongly believe Isabella has the most utility from her ability. If you've seen the Gympie-gympie plant in Australia, that intense pain just from contact with the plant, being able to create plants that carry medicinal/ health purposes at will, stronger plants, carnivorous plants, I imagine her being able to create hive mind fungi, and likely insect attracting pheromone plants. She was able to hit Marianno during her song from a long distance without the intent to do so. If you've watched the anime Darwin's Game. The Florist's use of his plant powers involved mind control, plant armor (plants being able to sprout from cement is an incredible feat). He took over a whole building, with traps, barriers, etc.

The problem with Isabella's power is that we don't know what is required for her power. If there is a catch to it. For example the other powers, we don't know what counts as cooking and how much food has to be eaten to enjoy the benefits. Or if by controlling their emotions with emotional intelligence, they can control the weather, or if it locked to the emotions and they have to be feeling something. In Isabella's case, how long do the plants last? When they grow, do they consume something? Or they manifest out of nothing? Do they have any actual nutritional properties? Specially this last one, in Mob Psycho, psychics can grow plants in seconds, but because they didn't properly grew consuming and transforming materials, these plants don't have any nutritional value, they don't even have a taste.

I think you should ponder the prequel implications... specifically what ~10 year old kids getting these powers results in... like for Pepa throwing a tantrum could wipe out the town... child birth must have been interesting too, right? That's a rabbit-hole of a situation there! -Shawn

For combat/self defense purposes I think it would be really interesting to see what happens if Julieta messes up a recipe. Like, we’ve only ever seen her make successful batches of good food, but what if she makes a really crappy arepa? Or if she’s rage baking? Could she purposefully make food that’s essentially just... poison?

Julieta's powers actually have some limits. Not to say it isn't incredible but her powers as presented is actually only speeding up the healing process. The only things shown to be healed are things that will heal eventually. Where as she is not able to heal her husband's eyes. These two things lead the most likely reasoning being that she only speeds up the healing for the person. Alternatively, there is the explanation that she can't heal something she doesn't recognize as an injury. In my opinion that limits her even more. This would mean that unless she knows of the actual ailment, she is only treating the symptoms. This becomes very dangerous when you would ignore an actual check-up and assume you are fine, since she is said to heal anything and you feel better.

I think within the movie there's is a different 'rule' in action. I think the powers are 'issued' in the order of need according to the needs in the moment. SO your first three are Healing, weather control, and fortune telling. Considering that they just escaped attack so a foretelling (where danger is coming from) , defense (weather control) and recovery (healing). In the second generation we get things that would be more needed in a more established community, plant magic (growing food), strength (building and reorganizing established spaces) , shape changing and far hearing (stress, rumor and drama management) and I would argue that its not 'talking to animals' but animal magnetism (to help manage the growing communities encroachment on the wild around them). And of course you get a new family matriarch both because she will need to think differently about how the powers are used, hence the reason the 'jobs' assigned by Abuela seem un-useful, because she is still in 'defense' mode vs 'flourishing' mode. Where as Mirabelle is in enamored with the magical family as a whole for what it is now and what it could be, not for the safety it offered then.

Between Pepa, Luisa, Julietta, and Isabella they could basically grant immortality for the village at least. Luisa could plow the fields, Pepa could bring optimal rain and Isabella could grow the crops. Julietta could heal everyone and basically prevent death.

There's also to consider how far Julieta's ability to heal people can go. We've seen her heal small bruises or broken bones. But what about deep wounds that may end up being deadly or things like cancer or some other illness that can be terminal (if not treated)?

I think Camilo would be more powerful than Antonio and Dolores. As you said, speaking to animals is not the same as controlling them. But even if Antonio could literally control the animals, influencing people is still more useful, and Camilo can influence people very easily because of his ability to literally take the form of their authority figures, loved ones, their enemies, or even themselves. Even if he can't verbally convince the big bad to stop, the emotional effort it would take to harm someone who looks exactly like somebody they care about, would still give him a massive advantage. Camilo can also hear private conversations because of his ability. Similiar to Dolores, and to some extent Antonio. Unlike the others, he can do good with as little damage as possible. Dolores and Antonio only have the powers of a gossip with very good hearing. Camilo has power over their very minds.

Brun being able to see the future would be able to see when a natural disaster could happen allowing people to evacuate before it gets to them.

I’d say prophecy is useful so you can prepare yourself for the future, like when Bruno told the girl what would happen if she didn’t reconcile with her sister.

To do a little counter, let's look at some weaknesses that could potentially be; Bruno needs sand and the right conditions to see the future. Antonio doesn't seem to have any, as long as there are something classified as an animal around, especially because it also seems like he is now part cat-nip/calming to animals and they obey his orders, meaning he has some control over them. He could potentially at one point find out that humans are animals and gain control over them. Luisa doesn't seem to have any, except her emotions, because as soon as she begins feeling weak, she grows weak. The same goes with Peppa, her emotions would also be her greatest weakness with her powers. It could be possible that just boiling water would make that water healing, if we are talking about Julietta. She might just need water and something to mix it with or a way to manipulate it (for example, if she made ice cubes, those could be considered made by her and therefore be healing. All we know is that it must be injested. We don't know if it also works with drinks because we don't really see her prepare drinks.) Isabella probably needs to be in contact with something solid, or may just need to be in contact with something that has contact to the ground, but we don't know if that's an issue for her. Maybe a very dry/wet environment would make her powers null (a desert or the middle of the ocean, for example) Cam (cannot spell his full name) probably just need to have seen the person and can afterwards mimic them. We also know that he can change their appearance, like when he made Bruno 7 feet tall in We Don't Talk About Bruno, so he might just need to have heard a good description of the person

The ability to speak animal is very useful. For one, he could take one burden off of Luisa and tell those donkeys to stay in their pen ( or at least figure out from the donkeys why they keep escaping and then tell their owner how to make things better (better grass, better water, more space....)). As someone who has spent her entire life around animals, the ability to talk to them would literally be life saving. If an animal can tell you where or how they hurt, can you imagine how much easier vet care could be? And since you have mentioned the whole battle thing, can you imagine if you could have all the surrounding animals in your army (jaguars, caiman, venomous snakes, spiders, harpy eagles to keep it in South American context....)? Not to go all Jurassic World on you, but.....

I feel like it's Camilo because he always blends in and no one would know it was him! He would never be found, think about want you could do with that!

I think Camilo's shapeshifting is limited severely by the fact that he can only transform into other humans. Slightly altered versions at times, sure, but not like animals or objects or anything. Animals have a variety of abilities, you could turn into a fish to not drown or things of that sort. Shapeshifters in some media are super overpowered because superpowers in some stories have a physiological element, meaning the shifter can gain other powers by transforming. Of course powers in Encanto are magical and therefore can't be replicated. He can't even do what a shapeshifter like Spongebob could do by stretching or changing sizes or whatever.

I would argue that Dolores, while incredibly powerful, also has a massive weakness that was completely overlooked, which is the fact that she can hear EVERYTHING, even if it is super quiet, which likely means that she hears quiet things as a normal volume and loud things at an abnormally loud volume. Which I think is supported by the fact that she whispers when she talks. She likely can't stand the volume of her own voice. This would mean that she likely gets migraines near-constantly. And may even struggle to hear when people are talking to her from a close range at a 'normal' volume, because their voices may be overwhelmingly loud. Plus, an easy way to incapacitate her might just be to blare a loud horn or something. And since she can hear basically everything, so she would know every-time someone was talking behind her back, probably know when people were lying to her, know when others were keeping secrets, etc. (not to mention she would hear when her parents were kissing or anything else and that would just be really gross). I could see her easily going mad from that, or even just start voiding people in general.

My theory about julieta, is that it is not the cooking that is healing, but the feeding by her own hands, as for the power of healing comes from within herself and the cooking is just her way to easily conduct it

I understood Antonio 's power as not just talking to animals but befriending/ commanding them.

Antonio - Well, the implication is that he can, in fact, get along with the animals and has influence over their behaviour, as evidenced by him effectively taming an apex predator immediately. All of those animals flock to him (some literally, being birds and all), so there is at least some sort of 'animals like me and want to help me' aura about him. I'd put him above Delores, since while he can't immediately get the information, he can get it from further away, and his animal friends could perform tasks remotely for him, so far as it seems. Also it doesn't come with the caveat that he has to hear all sorts of unpleasantness, all the time. Basically, he's a bit slower to do things than some of the others, but he has high utility.

If Camilo shapeshifted into one of his other family members... theorectically, would he have their powers too? So he could have other powers. I mean, we only see him shapeshift into Bruno to sing a song. If he tried using Bruno's powers... would it work? Soooooo... it could actually be VERY powerful.

The scope of Julietta's power confuses me a little because of Mirabel's glasses. The fact that Mirabel's vision is not righted by eating her mother's cooking means there isn't some objective standard by which the magic just makes everything wrong with the person perfect again. So it could be that her power is just to speed up your body's own ability to heal itself, in which case if she tried to heal someone with cancer, for example, she would probably end up killing them. But then we also see the man's bone get set and healed during the opening song, meaning the ability isn't strictly about speeding up the body's own healing abilities. Whether she should be in one of those top spots or not though would depend on how her power operates since giving everyone a grain of rice she cooked could end up killing a lot of people...

I feel like Mirabel and Abela should be on this list. As keepers of the miracle, in a way they have power over all the other's powers in the family. Depending on how you look at it, they would be either stronger or weaker than everyone else. Basically they would be the strongest of villains but, the weakest of good guys.

9:19 they do use Camilo's ability to help hang a birthday banner because he makes himself taller so that he can reach. There are ways it could be genuinely useful, not to mention that just entertainment in itself has value in a way.

When it comes to gifts, I think it's a tie between Isabella and Pepa. But, if we're talking about strength overall, it's Mirabel. She has endured being ostracized and pretty much unloved by her family since she was five. Even her parents who don't shun her still treat her like she's handicapped. She's not a failure like the rest believe, but is somewhat less, a bit defective. I don't think any other family member could have come through that and been as positive as she was. It would have broken them. Antonio's seen how Mirabel is treated so he's terrified of his own ceremony. He's terrified of being cast out as she was. The rest of the family can look down on her because, it wasn't them. They didn't fail 'the family' and were still loved. Bruno was just like Mirabel, but the strain broke him and caused him to leave. Mirabel could still go on despite it all. Mirabel is the strongest family member. Because, the one thing about having a scapegoat that you blame everything on that proves you aren't strong, the whole point of having a scapegoat is so you don't have to accept responsibility for anything at all. It's horrible for the blamed, but for you it's extremely freeing to not worry about ever making a mistake. You're mistakes are that person's fault after all, not yours.

I think Camilo should be higher on this list. His ability is not just shapeshifting himself but also things. We know this because whenever Camilo shapeshifted his clothes changed too. Same goes for Antonio what you was completely wrong animals are not as smart as humans ( not most of them ) and hence when told something they surely won't rebel.

This really shows how well this family could function as a special intelligence taskforce. Their abilities could work together perfectly as a squad to finish all kinds of sensitive missions. Of course, they're peace-loving civilians who have no reason to go on the offense, but it's funny to think about.

so no one will talk about Mirabel? The house gifts direct family new powers. So if Op abilities like Isabella come up, imagine other abilities that could appear in the family later. Really. the family should be treasuring Mirabel and protecting her at all costs.

Can you imagine what happened when Dolores got her gift? Imagine she’s just standing there with a glowing door, everyone’s waiting to see what her gift is, and then She suddenly hears someone in the back say to the person next to them “uh….so what is it?”

Can we agree that Antonio actually control animals with his voice. Isabella also has indestructible.

I absolutely agree with most of the rankings, but there's just a few points I wanted to make: While knowing the future without being able to change it is not ideal, it does still allow you to plan around it. Think of it like predicting the weather, sure you can't change the weather but you can still plan your day accordingly. Maybe not as good as some other powers, but still better than shapeshifting when it comes to the specific situation of "helping a small town with its needs". Shapeshifting would be amazing to have personally but yeah pretty much useless for the town. If we're downgrading Peppa because of her emotional link, then we should absolutely upgrade Antonio because he very clearly displays the ability to MAKE the animals listen to him. They literally flock to him when his power awakens, and at one point he directly tells a predator not to eat his new friends and it simply doesn't. Otherwise I think this list is spot on. I didn't think you asked enough questions in terms of the extent of how camilo's power works. I don't think you considered how far his shapeshifting abilities could potentially mimic other humans. Like could his powers identically copy other people's dna? if so he'd immediately become the world's most versatile blood and bone marrow donator with no possibility for rejection to the recipient. And assuming his power mimics other people's anatomy exactly, he could also act as a guinea pig being able to run vigorous tests for cancers, genetic abnormalities, and other conditions that the original human may not be able to do for whatever reason. This is a more unconventional use for his shapeshifting, but he could also provide some comfort for those grieving a death. letting them see their loved one, for one last time. Could it also mean if he could mimicked people younger than him that he could technically be immortal. Because no worries if he's aging just shapeshift into someone young and stay there. He'd also be the world's most most versatile actor. No need for an entire cast. Just have him shapeshift and edit over to make it seem like you had more actors.

Antonio's, I think was not fleshed out enough. I don't think he "speaks to animals" but rather " commands" them. Every animal does what HE wants, including a jaguar, who he tells to not eat another animal. Literally going against its nature. Talking to animals of one thing, controlling is easy better, I don't think it beats the top 2, but Antonio should be top 3

Can I just say that if all the family works together they can terraform places like the desert. Dolores with her super hearing can hear caves collapsing. If Camilo can shape shift into anything he can do some heavy lifting as an elephant. And Antonio can ask help from many different animals. Next we have Luisa who can easily move sand around. The last two people who will play a major role: Pepa and Isabela. Pepa can bring on massive storms to fill rivers and Isabela can make the area habitable for the animals. But that would take a lot of work

I think that Camilo is a play on how a teen would actually use shape-shifting powers.

As an addition to the power of Isabella. So many medicines are made from plants it’s theorised that there is a cure for just about every illness somewhere in the Amazon. And that 2/3 of medicines are dependent on tropical plants for their production. Isabelle would be instrumental for healing perhaps just as much as her mother.

I thought that their powers exist to protect their community. (Seeing how they got their powers as protection from an attack in the first place.) Bruno can see a possible futur attack comming and can warn the community. Peppa is extremly powerful. She can attack the enemies with a hurrican, tornado, blizzard, etc. and protect the community that way. Julietta can heal the members of the community from wounds from an attack or an accident. Isabella is basically Poison Ivy. She's extremly powerful. She could attack the enemy with her plants. She also can grow food for the community. Luisa is super strong and therefore can protect the community from the enemy. Obviously. Dolores can hear the enemy comming and can warn the community & can also spy on the enemy. Camillo can shapeshift into enemy soldiers and can spy on them. Antonio can attack the enemy with an army of leopards or birds or he can send his animals to spy on them. Sorry for my bad english!

You actually make a good point about Pepa experiencing loss. This is actually shown in the film if you are looking for it. Pepa lost Bruno, who was her triplet. While it's not as big of a focus in media, triplets also have the same close connection that twins do, and given how sensitive she is it would have been devastated when he left. That actually brings me to an interesting point, my personal theory/headcannon about Pepa: *she is the one who started the "we don't talk about Bruno" thing.* See here's the thing... We know it originated in the family. The townspeople respected the family too much to start bad mouthing one of them, even if it was the black sheep. So who says the line in the family? Only Pepa and her family. Julieta's side never say it, and in fact do actually talk about Bruno. Julieta says he lost his way, Luisa says she heard the adults talking about one of his prophecies, Mirabel even sings about him! Even in the song We Don't Talk About Bruno, Isabella *doesn't say the line*. She just tells about what he said to her. Even the Abuela who is often sited as the source of the phrase *never says it*. In fact, she says "Bruno doesn't care". So... the only people in the family who say it are Pepa, Felix, Camilo, and Dolores. You know what I think? "We don't talk about Bruno" is a mantra, much like Pepa's "clear skies" mantra. She started it as a way to control her grief. She had to, or the whole Encanto would be in danger. So instead of dealing with her emotions, she shut them down. Which is why she's in the state she's in at the start of the film. 10 years of repressed grief would make anyone short tempered. That's also why she's in control at the end... because Bruno is back and she doesn't have to repress it anymore.

something that i would like to point out is that at the end of the movie pepa seemed to be in control as she was creating snow when she was happy but i don't think that puts her any higher

In regards to Julietas power, I don't think its her cooking that has the healing power necessarily. Every time we see her use it SHE GIVES THEM THE FOOD. It's not just her cooking something and others coming and taking the food. She either feeds them (or hands it to them) directly.
