Ranking Every Radiohead Closing Song 

I just want to point out that the reason True Love Waits is so low is because I can’t relate to it. I am quite young and have never gone through any major heartbreak, I’m sure I will relate to it someday though.

Got to be 'The Tourist' for me. After everything that has gone before it on OK Computer, it just feels like a slow exhalation of either relief or resignation. May not be the best track of those that finish the albums, but for me, it is the most appropriate and effective.

Motion picture soundtrack is a masterpiece and my personal favorite closer too. For me it ties the entire album together and cements Kid A as a masterpiece. It feels like reflecting on every emotion and experience that the other tracks on the album portray and finding some sort of acceptance and solace.

blow out deserves a higher number. such a great closer in my opinion, feels like the first ever "true" radiohead song if that makes any sense.

Shocked I don’t see many people saying Videotape. I love music but it’s never pushed me to the point of crying yet like it has for many people (granted, I haven’t been exploring music for that long). I listened to In Rainbows the other day, thought it was a really solid album as I went through it, then I hit Videotape and I wanted to cry with happiness and sadness. Absolutely incredible track.

I never looked at the Tourist the same after listening to it on an airplane. Especially the lyric “at a thousand feet per second.”

The Tourist is my favourite Radiohead closer and just my favourite Radiohead song in general. I've been very stressed for a while now but every time I listen to that song, I feel like I can just relax and take a break from everything. The solo at the end is one of my favourite moments in music as a whole as well.

Ok Computer is such an experience to listen too. Its emotions very so much throughout the album, like you just crossed an entire continent of yourself. The Tourist is Thom's final message to the listener. Slow down. It is so incredibly beautiful and the best closer to an album of all time.

My God it's so great you put Motion Picture Soundtrack at number 1. Frankly, the outro from Morning Bell with the pause that leads into MPS is my favorite listen of any album. And I must say I do not interpret MPS as any sort of a suicide note. In short, it's about a lonely and sad man reflecting on the once love of his life.

for me, "videotape" is my favorite closer, for the fact that it feels like a grand finale, a goodbye, and a damn good swansong for the album. Although I feel "street spirit" and "motion picture soundtrack" also achieve similar feelings

9- Life in a Glasshouse (top 5 worst tracks on their discography, one of their very few failed experimentations imo) 8- True Love Waits (a pale reversion of a great and shattering old track of theirs) 7- Videotape (never been a big fan of this, albeit very nice, glorified-Coldplay closer, sorry) 6- Blow Out (runner up for the best track on PH, it could have been even better if recorded at the more mature The Bends stage of the band's career) 5- Motion Picture Soundtrack (great and very appropiate closer to Kid A, high emotional point, its hidden moment is a little treasure) 4- Separator (wildly underrated gem, closes KoL on a epic note, from the Basement showed its even greater potential) 3- The Tourist (couldn't imagine a more appropiate closing to the towering album that OKC is than this owerhelming final step of the whole journey) 2- A Wolf at the Door (one of their most underrated masterpieces, pure genius including one of the most amazing choruses Mr. Yorke has penned) 1- Street Spirit (one of their crowning achievements, and among the best songs ever, nuff said)

HOW BLOW OUT IS AT THE END?

I enjoy a wolf at the door quite a bit, but honestly as a closer it's one of the lower quality ones from radiohead imo. my top 5 without exact order would be life in a glasshouse, the tourist, motion picture soundtrack, street spirit and true love waits (the first 3 are better than the last 2) and honestly videotape would rank much higher if it didn't have that end section where the instrumental just keeps going on for 1:30 minutes without changing, I said it lol

There are no bad choices. In my opinion, all these songs are good, but there are some that I like better. REPEAT--THEY ARE ALL GOOD. 9. Separator. Fitting. The song is ‘fine’ but I dont crave listening to it that much. KoL is also my lowest rated album; but then again I’ve been a fan since 1993. The song does match the album. 8. True Love Waits (their earlier guitar version is better, but this version matches the Album quite well. 7. A Wolf at the Door. I get why people love this song, but its not in my top-50 Radiohead songs. It matches the political theme of the album though. I think Sail to the Moon seemed more of a closer. 6. Life in a Glass House. I’ll probably get heat for this, I just think its a bit of an odd fit for the album in general, much more so as a closer, though it is all very experimental. 5. Videotape. Good song. Can’t put it higher than the others. 4. Blow Out. Awesome song, and works as a ‘closer’; it’s just much more of an odd fit for this particular album. 3. Motion Picture Soundtrack. This works very well as a closer, I just happen to like the songs above it, better. 2. The Tourist. So good. An an awesome way to close thier magnum opus. 1. Street Spirit. Yep, their top closer in my opinion.

Yo siempre pense a primera instancia que "The Tourist" se trataba sobre manejar en estado de ebriedad/ drogas / estresado y deprimido, o los tres, para que al final te terminara deteniendo la policia por exceso de velocidad. I love to see people being hyped over their favorite songs, but I just cannot see the appeal in motion picture soundtrack. IT IS AMAZING, trust me. I love the demos too but "How to disappear completely" is far more emotional, I think. They completely overdid the strings/harps at 2:30.. it is just way too much, thus it doesn't give me any goosebumps. The demo of MPS is better than the final release
