As a ranger shotgun mainer in Reload, I tell you; this thing is super strong, I mean, I'm hitting 125 from 25m away it's that good, the Heavy Shotgun feels like its cousin compared to this. The legendary ranger is overkill as well. Those stats are godly. The tac is also really good as well for a base shotgun. Also, the tac was in Chapter 3 Season 1??

The fact that the wood stake shotgun even had a crosshair WHEN IT LITERALLY SHOOTS A WOOD STAKE is beyond comprehension. If they made this thing have a crosshair that is nothing but a dot (I believe the ray guns had that) it would automatically be much better because the randomness of shots wouldnt exist.

The Dub was literally a slightly weaker Shockwave Grenade Launcher that ran on slugs and shells, I think that was pretty cool

The sharp tooth is my go to shotgun for both build and zero build, I understand that it's a ripoff of the pump but I've always liked to hit hard at range and that's also why the ranger shotgun was my pick until the sharp tooth (it also has a tighter spread than the havoc) I do sometimes take the heisted maven though

The chapter 3 auto shotgun is for me the most underrated one : it has the stats of the tac, except for the damage, and u could litterally two shot someone with the gold and mythic version cause it deals 103 and more in the body, like a pump (not as much, but it's still good)

The Sharp Tooth is really good, the worst thing about it is that they crunched so hard they never replaced the placeholder model so normies hold that against it for some reason

Let me fix you top 5 (as a zero build player) : 5: Thunder Pump (low ammo and slow reload not the best for moshpits) 4: OG Pump (nothing bad almost always consistent) 3: Gate Keeper (So Good only argument is reloading the mag instead of pellet's) 2: Heisted Accelerant Shotgun (Just a better gate keeper High skill ceiling, Low skill floor) 1: Mythic Havoc Pump (Oh my god wtf)

I don't think I have ever seen a gun as broken as the mythic drum shotgun, literally a free win every time I got it in ch3

Putting the infiltrator this low on the list is crazy. It was such a good shotgun and easy to hit your shots compared to the sharp tooth.

Tac Shotty lover here. I used to not care so much about the Pump, then absolutly hate it when the Spas released in late Season 6 and dominated the whole 7 & 8 seasons. Then I was absolute amazed with the Tac gold era at the final of Season 9 with that Epic&Legendary versions + x2.5 headshot damage + vault of the pump and only existing uncommon and rare raririties, so it was no Spas. Then continued the hatred on season 3, and 6 in chapter 2, mainly cause the times the Pump was present the Tac wasn't around but lower, because it had it damage reduced at the start of the chapter. Season 7 and 8 ch. 2 had the returning of the Pump, but now with the Tac alongside, so I was fine. When ch. 3 vaulted both of them and started bringing clones, I felt pity for the tac. But it was Ch. 4 that really changed my opinnion. Havoc shotgun made me absolutely love Pump, it was insane. Since that, and many work in creative mode, I've been able to look the Pump with different eyes, and I still prefere the Tac, but I do not hate it anymore and instead can use it properly. I'm really happy that both the Tac and the Pump are in Reload mode nowadays, these two are truly heads of Fortnite, and I'm glad they were able to fight in the base game for so long.

The hammer shotgun is really underrated

the hate on the woodstake is absolutely insane, that shotgun is one of the only shotguns that can still hit for 200+, with the mythic

make shift is leages above the 2 shot shot gun. the makeshift got buffed to have 3 shots and more damage. the 2 shot, as you were showing was doing 30 damage

I gotta say though, while the makeshift is still bottom 5 shotguns ever, the buff it got mid season makes it an okay weapon, and I would take a blue one over a legendary primal shotgun (post nerf of course). The thing about the high stakes shotgun is that a certain augment let you hit for 200+ headshot in the higher rarities, and that was massive. It had made me switch my playstyle but it was amazing to use.

The lever action and two shot shotgun are my favourite of all time

11:50 i personally love the ranger shotgun. The reload isnt even that bad as its like the same as the delay with other shotguns. the ranger aspect is really good imo as you can go like 30 meters away and do like the same dmg

At launch, the Heavy shotgun did 1 less headshot damage compared with the Striker pump with every rarity, being 141, 149, 157, 165 and 173, but had a much faster fire rate and a *lot* more range, making it possibly the best shotgun in chapter 3 season 1 (it was WAY better than the pre-buff Auto shotgun, as that had to reload for about 25 years. The Auto now does more damage than the tac AND the maven and has a similar reload time, so its the best tactical-esqe shotgun)

Bro the new Heavy Shotgun is one of my FAVORITE shotguns to use. I would personally put it in the top 12. (Also the WoodStake Shotgun just felt SO MUCH WORSE than the Heavy Shotgun. It might have been because that Shotgun was potentially bullet drop?) Also Ranger Shotgun is in the top 5 best shotguns of all time for me. SO GOOD.

Also something to mention as to why people dislike the striker pump was how obscenely awful it was at launch. It’s spread was horrendous, it’s damage barely any better, and I believe it fired a tad bit slower. The auto shotgun was 100% better then it, and when I played C1 S1 day one, I only saw people use the auto due to how bad the striker was. When they realized how terrible the thing was they buffed it and it immediately became a much more viable weapon to use.

im gonna complain here. if you're going to rate weapons, use the CURRENT stats for them, the makeshift shotgun half way through season 6 got GIGA buffed with a fire rate nearly as fast as the tac, and still doing high 90's damage with 3 shots in the clip. If you rate some weapons at their weakest, and others far higher, it isnt a fair rating.

I have a idea of a shotgun where it was a charge variant. I called it The *Scope Charge Shotgun* The idea was that when you charge up the shot, it will cost the Hit scan area to shrink and increase the range from 20m, to 60m. The weapon can deal up to 225 damage for a up close shot as long it’s not Charge, if it charges up, the headshot multiplayer will decrease and can damage up to 160 damage. Before someone says *Well if it deals 225 damage for an Uncharged shot, then why would I Ever charge*. The Hitscan on the weapons would be huge, like really big.

Maybe some recency bias but my top three: 1 Og Pump. 2 Gatekeeper. 3 Oscars Frenzy auto. Obviously the OG pump isn't recent but two and three are.

No matter how many shotguns come out, the og pump is just so iconic to fortnite and its always feels the best to use because of just how reliable it is.

The auto and tactical have the exact same stats. They are literally the same shotgun, except for appearance, the different reloading system, and most importantly… the auto does more damage. Auto is better

I think the sharptooth should be a little bit higher. It wasn’t bad, it just had a weird place in the meta. It didn’t fit in the the chapter 4 season 3 meta like who’s taking that over the havoc and drum?

The Auto dealt more damage than the Tac, but I think it had a slower pull-out time

The Breacher shotguns damage to structures was later nerfed to the ground and made it pointless due to competitive players crying about it witch is another reason to have separate loot pools for compet and casual

There is no way in heck you put the Dragon’s breath over the sharp tooth. Sharp tooth was great for someone like me who always cranked up 3-4 boxes above my enemies bc the range was great. I even took it over the havoc of it was a higher or sometimes even the same rarity. I would never do that now bc everyone box fights, but still

Honestly the sharp tooth should just be the new pump shotgun. Its decent at both close and medium range.

I genuinely think the makeshift is still better than the lever action shotgun. I don’t think i’ve ever gotten a kill using the level action.

I cannot BELIEVE you put the dragon's breath over the sharp tooth 😭 That thing was one of the worst weapons of all time imo. It hit generally less than the double barrel did, and it used FOUR SHOTS. FOUR. And i think honestly the makeshift shotgun is overhated, especially after it's buff. It can pump out 3 rounds faster than the typical pump and it did okay damage for what it was. Not saying it was a great shotgun but i thought it was usable.

See I asked you to retry EVERY shotgun in creative in it's current state the makeshift has 3 bullets and shoots quite fast now. This shouldn't always be what it used to be but what it's RIGHT now.

Ive always loved the auto shotgun. I only played no build then granted. Also fun fact it does more damage than any other reskined tac. I will say the tac is way more consistent and doesnt take 40 years to reload lol

This list would be completely different if you based it off of zero build. I know most lists would be like that, but shotguns I feel get hit the hardest in the transition for builds to no builds

If I remember the combat shotgun came out in season 9 as a Promotion for the John Wick 3 and wicks bounty it sucked EPIC then messed up by making it over powered and I believe they also removed the double pump delay they forgot to added when making it over powered so everyone was going back to double pumping and it was swiftly fixed

Rank all shotguns again(but with their variations with no nerfs or buffs along the years meaning the og double pump is on the list 😂)
