And Hazy Maze is one of the best.

1. Tiny Huge Island: as a fan of Dinosaurs and things giant, I approve. Just have fun! 2. Big Boo's Haunt: quite a few unique paths and things in this "secret" level 3. Hazy Maze Cave: similarly, you unlock the metal cap, meet Nessie and just take many paths. 4. Bob-omb Battlefield: Just a fun and easy stage where you don't get punished for exploring 5. Jolly Roger Bay: the iconic eel and sunken ship, treasure, and soothing music 6. Snowman's Land: Another toolbox area to just have fun with invisible walls and ice bullies. Not as punishing as Cool Cool Mountain. 7. Wet-Dry World: very fun and creative puzzle/toolbox land 8. Shifting Sand Land: a very complex stage with puzzles and even entering a pyramid! Sadly, that quicksand is EVERYWHERE and instantly kills you! 9. Lethal Lava Land: entering a volcano and tons of bullies! But...fucking lava is a pain, and it's just smaller and slightly less impressive than Sand Land. 10. Cool Cool Mountain: fun, but even easier to instantly die from fucking penguins or the damn wind. 11. Tall, Tall Mountain: not as many instant deaths, but it's just a tall and boring mountain 12. Dire, Dire Docks: a really small and forgettable stage. Bowser's sub is cool though 13. Whomp's Fortress: good variety, but did everyone forget that any mistake in the whole level basically forces you to redo the whole stage?? Frustrating! 14. Tick Tock Clock: Boring and frustrating! 15. Rainbow Ride: ANNOYING. BEYOND. BELIEF. Worst stage ever. Nightmarishly atrocious.

It was a much better time... people actually had jobs , social media didn’t dominate our lives and people didn’t pretend their lives were just perfect when behinds the scene it was actually hell usually (though granted this very comment and video is use of social media, it wasn’t near as scary to walk outside and meet people like it is today, and the news while notoriously bad back then, it’s even worse now with all the political division and bullshit. When I was a kid our only division was whether you liked Pokémon or Digimon (and of course because I lived in Alabama, whether you were Alabama or Auburn , they drilled that shit early on) now we are divided on literally everything, everyone seems to hate each other and the world is literally getting worse slowly but surely.

Wet Dry World is the most nostalgic for me because when my cousin and I were younger, he had a used copy and it was mind-blowing to see how wet dry World worked. But my favorite course is probably Tiny Huge Island

Yeah, it's a solid stage. Just industrial and ugly. Navigating takes forever so it's slow to iterate on puzzle solving. You can basically avoid those little tosser robots too, so as long as you aren't trying to scale upwards while it's dry it's not that terrible of a level.

Doom fry it’s in a room with a mirror and the level is the only thing in the reflection that isn’t reflected in the actual area so you gotta jump where it would be in the actual area. It’s not too hard if you talk to toad outside but if you didn’t it’s hard to notice

I wasn't trying to be mean, but it's irritating to see an amateur gamer criticize a fantastic level simply because they didn't put in the time or hours to get good at the game like the rest of us did. rainbow ride is such a good level... IF you can jump around freely, wall jumping off the sides of platforms etc. but yes, if you just sit around on the carpets because you are a beginner, I bet it's very boring.

*[SPOILER ALERT]* That’s true, but in that level there’s a secret area which leads to a red pipe (there are only 2 in the game). These pipes take to the next world. I was so satisfied when I discovered them! At 2:50 he says “trying to discover new areas”

Previous comment was too long... Here's the top 10! 10. Tall Tall Mountain - Yes, this mountain is tall. Admittedly, the 3 stars atop the mountain that are quite similar are kinda weird, but this'll make you appreciate the mountain-climbing aspect more. You'll be doing long jumps, dodging iron balls, bouncing on Goombas and Monty Moles, and more to get to the top. The secret slide is quite fun, as is the fact that there are multiple ways to climb the mountain. First, you'll be careful. Then, you'll learn the layout and start climbing it faster. Maybe you'll find shortcuts to help as well. Then you'll slow down again to collect 100 Coins. The lonely mushroom star is creative as well, as there are multiple ways to reach it. 9. Whomp's Fortress - What? Whomp's Fortress this low? How could you? No, I like this stage! I simply like some others more. A floating fortress in the sky guarded by the Whomp King is a cool concept, and that great soundtrack often called the "main theme" really sets the mood. There's various platforms to explore, a tower to climb, Red Coins to find, Whomps and Thwomps to avoid, it's pure fun. There's a reason they brought it back in Galaxy 2, and I hope to see more Mario 64 levels return for future Mario games! I'd love to see a challenging King Bob-omb battle! 8. Wet-Dry World - It's hard for me to choose whether I like Wet-Dry World or Jolly Roger Bay more at this point. I never felt the "negative emotional aura" that people talk about. This stage is puzzling, not quite Zelda difficulty, but it's a fun concept. The town area just makes the stage better. Climbing to the top of the main area is fun to do, as is looking around for the secrets. I like Mario water levels, and this one does it for me. It gives that mysterious feel with the music, also shared with Hazy Maze Cave. 7. Jolly Roger Bay - My favorite water stage in the game (right now), Jolly Roger Bay isn't quite jolly itself, but it's certainly fun to play. The atmosphere looks scary, but the music calms the feeling and makes it feel more mysterious and relaxing. You'll be exploring a hidden cave, searching a sunken ship for treasure, blasting through the sky, and "playing" with eels. The 100-Coin star is fun to get too, as you basically explore the entire stage to find them, which takes a while, but isn't tedious or anything. 6. Cool Cool Mountain - This mountain is COOL. Slipping and sliding your way down is fun, as is sliding down the slide. Later, you'll race a Penguin down the slide, which is easy to mess up if you're not careful. The Red Coins make you explore all over, and the Wall Kicks Will Work star is well-hidden. If you don't know how to wall jump well at this point, this star will certainly teach you! You'll meet many friendly faces around the course, such as a mama Penguin who's lost her baby, Tuxie, the baby who got lost, another lost baby, a world champion sledder Penguin to race, a Bob-omb Buddy, a snowman head who wants a body, and a snowman body looking for a head. It's an adventure! The music is a snowy remix of Bob-omb Battlefield's theme, and that's cool cool. 5. Big Boo's Haunt - No more hiding from this stage, let's talk about it! The music is very creepy, the textures are creepy, things like a piano and books come alive, it's got the perfect atmosphere for a creepy ghost level! You'll be hunting down Boos, eventually fighting their leader, the one haunting the place. But Big Boo isn't done with you. The basement has a merry-go-round platform playing strange music, and Big Boo is waiting there with his minions! But then Big Boo hides up on the mansion's balcony, forcing you to find a way up there, and then settle things once and for all. You'll also find a library with a secret, Red Coins scattered about, and a secret room with a giant eyeball! This stage went wacky with the creepy elements, which is what helps make it so fun! 4. Lethal Lava Land - Triple L doesn't lie, that lava is lethal! The main area has lots of creative platforms, from ones that rise and sink in the lava, to ones that move past fire, to ones you fight Bullies on, to a drawbridge, to sloped ones you ride on with a Shell, to shuffling puzzle pieces, to a spinning one, to a rolling log, to ones that tilt! Goodness, that's a lot of platforms! You'll be fighting Bullies, both the smaller kind and the Big Bullies, which you have to knock into the lava. You can fly around the stage with the Wing Cap, or slide across the lava with a Koopa Shell! Then you can hop into the volcano and find more stage below! The music really ties things together, providing a menacing, "hot-sounding" track as you play the stage. 3. Hazy Maze Cave - This stage is a fun cave maze to explore, full of many secrets to discover. While the boulders are quite infuriating, everything else is super cool. Each of the rooms is unique. The starting area has death pits and two paths to take. The elevator room has a branching path leading to an elevator, and its main area has other types of elevator platforms used to get the Red Coins. The Hazy Maze room is a maze with toxic gas that drains your health! The black hole area has a round bottomless pit in the center with platforms on the sides, and a path that leads off to another section, but boulders are rolling down at you into the pit. Above, there is metal fencing that you can cling to to grab a star. The lowest section is a water-filled area where Dorrie lives, whom you can ride, and secret rooms, one that leads to a star, and one that leads to the Metal Cap stage. The music's instruments change based on where you're at (like Jolly Roger Bay's music) (Wet-Dry World does this too) which is a nice touch. This stage is fun and mysterious. 2. Shifting Sand Land - We're back for one more rage-inducing stage, but one I've come to really like. The rage just shows that it's challenging. This is a desert level done right, with lots of sand, some that is safe, some that you sink in, and some that really puts the "quick" in quicksand! You will climb to the top of the pyramid, tussle with a bird who like stealing, ride a Koopa Shell safely across the sand, get caught up in a sandstorm, dodge deadly Tox Boxes, and grab the Wind Cap and take flight to nab Red Coins! That's not all, head inside the pyramid for more fun! There's a whole level inside, where you'll need to pass many different obstacles on your journey to the top. There's also secrets in the pyramid... If you stand on the four pillars outside, the top of the pyramid pops off, and you can access a special elevator that takes you to the deepest section of the pyramid to fight an ancient boss, two stone hands with eyes. Yeah, no kidding! This boss is a bit harder than most of the others in the game, as both hands take 3 hits to defeat, and it's easy to get shoved off the arena. The Lethal Lava Land track somehow fits the outside level very well, and the inside plays the mysterious cave theme that Hazy Maze Cave and Wet-Dry World also have. It's not limited space on the cartridge or anything, nah, it just fits that well! This is a great stage! 1. Bob-omb Battlefield - There's not really a good explanation as to why this stage is so much fun, but it is. The first stage is done very right, and it's impossible not to smile at some point when playing it! There's a menacing Chain Chomp who guards a star, an island floating in the sky, friendly Bob-ombs and evil Bob-ombs, iron balls to knock you around, a spiraling mountain to climb, King Bob-omb at the top to fight, a speedy Koopa Troopa to race, a Shell to ride, Red Coins to find, cannons to shoot from, the list goes on! And probably the most iconic music in the game plays in this stage, which just adds to the joy of playing this stage. Hope you enjoyed my (long) list and let me know your list below!

@@Wesley-76 so I finally 100% completed the game recently, and I think it gave me stronger opinions on some levels I originally liked or disliked, so here's my list (based on how I felt getting 100 coins in each stage): 15. tick tock clock. I've always really really liked the design of tick tock clock, but the actual level itself was annoying to play for me. it was bearable before, but getting 100 coins is SO ANNOYING. it makes me feel like I'm playing getting over it lmao 14. rainbow ride. never really liked this level, the style was pretty fun but it was so restrictive and hard to get through that i never actively wanted to play it 13. lethal lava land. I've always liked lava worlds in Mario games, and originally I liked this one too. but again, getting 100 coins was a pain because of how easy it is to break the shell, and it doesn't respawn. the level itself is always fun tho 12. snow man's land. always felt like a weird alternate version of cool cool mountain to me, not a bad level but nothing special either. the coins are spread out a bit too, making it take a while to get them all 11. tall, tall mountain. the overall style of this level was fun, and I used to love the slide section so much, but I had to retry it multiple times to get 100 coins, and it got a bit annoying. but overall, it's a great level 10. hazy maze cave. I always liked how spread out and diverse hazy maze cave is, but it makes getting 100 coins really hard, they're all over the place and it takes aaaages to get them all... the upside is though, that it gives you an incentive to explore the whole area, which is fun 9. dire, dire docks. i have similar feelings to snow man's land with this, with how it's kinda just the second water level with nothing all that special. but still, the level itself is very pretty in places and it's by far the easiest 100 coins star in the game 8. shifting sand land. tbh sand levels in Mario games were never fun to me, but this one always stood out. it just has so many things to see, it's actually really impressive. my only problem is the quicksand, which makes dying really easy because it instakills you 7. cool, cool mountain. this level's always been really fun just because of the theme, falling off the mountain can get a little annoying but the general feeling of being there always makes me happy to play it 6. tiny-huge island. the concept of the level is really clever and fun, I always loved exploring the world in both versions, and getting the coins kinda lets you explore more 5. wet-dry world. never felt the 'negative emotional aura' people talk about, always just found it to be a fun and challenging level. getting 100 coins isnt really easy or anything, but it encourages you to explore the whole stage, and i always enjoying going to the sunken village. it's so mysterious, and seeing a full town in mario 64 just feels interesting 4. bob-omb battlefield. an absolute classic, and an amazing way to introduce the game. probably the first level that anyone thinks of with this game. but to be honest, it was never really a level i would come back to much, just gives off nice feelings whenever i visit it on a new save 3. jolly roger bay. there isn't much to this level, but the music and general feeling of the area is enough to make me love it. i used to just leave the game running in the background years ago, because i like the cozy atmosphere so much 2. whomp's fortress. probably the best designed level in the game from a gameplay standpoint. every star is fun, and it feels just like a mario game should. 1. big boo's haunt. probably my favourite of all because i've always been a fan of ghosts and spooky areas in games like this, and they knocked it out of the park for a game this limited. it's probably my favourite ghost area in any mario game, unless i'm forgetting something, always enjoyed going here for fun and to feel the spooky atmosphere. the 100 coins mission is just a good excuse to run around the mansion and explore all the creepy rooms (never found that piano scary tho)
