My first Game was Tekken 5 on the ps2, when I was 7 i remember seeing him and tinking HE'S SO COOL!!!! Almost 20yrs later and I STAND BY 6yo ME!!! King is THAT GUY
@@sadetwizelve do you have a superiority complex? he just said he's new to tekken, and tekken 8 isn't that much different from 7, yeah ofc 8 is a bit easier than 7 and 6 but who cares if its a little easier, and its relatively better for beginners
I haven't played tekken 8 yet, so I can't really rank it. But for me it's 1. Tekken 3 2. Tekken 7 3. Tekken Tag Tournament 4. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 5. Tekken 5 6. Tekken 4 7. Tekken 6 8. Tekken Revolution 9. Tekken 2 10. Tekken
I dont know..my first and last Tekken was T3..and then I bought T7..but didnt really click with the graphics..it seemed outdated..so I only played it like 2hours. I am so glad I returned to Tekken with T8. Its SO good!
Same man I didn't even play Tekken 7.. my last Tekken was literally 3!!! Lol and that's a long long time ago.. I just saw the improvements and new features during Fighting and I was sold after playing the demo of the intro fight.. that's when I new it was REAL!!! And I've been addicted since release😢 trying to catch up and relearn the mechanics.. because I will be a force believe that.. Leroy is the main as well even tho I heard they nerfed him a lot from Tekken 7.. but he plays just fine to me, but then again I didn't play the last one so I can't compare.. all I know is I be handing out L's with this one
Bruh Tekken 6 Story mode was probably the most fun i had in the Franchise Edit LMAO saying that Devil Within is a better mode then scenario mode from 6 is a joke
T5 is the rawest best version of tekken. The feel and movement was divine. Tekken 7 is the most refined tekken system. Tekken 8 is 3rd best in my opinion.
P. Jack it's not original Jack. It's gap between Jacks. For T2 it's between J-2 and Gun Jack. And judging by moveset they glad what they did and change only design not changing let's give him more armor\let's make him more metallic concept.
@TotallyTubularJonathan I can't wait. 4 months ago I went from beating to no yakuza games n now manage to beat all the main line ones n gaiden. One of my favorite series now
Tekken 7 is still the worst in the series. Is it ok for it to be your favorite? Of course, but it was never the best. 8?? Heck yeah that game is a MASSIVE improvement on 7. 7 is still lacking content, not caring for new characters, the fighting is fun but BAD considering I actually did a sweep and kicked Xiaouyu’s head but it went literally through her head and she still won by hitting me which no this game is terrible but it’s gameplay but still fun etc. don’t even get me started on the lack of customization. Anywho i’m just gonna sound like a broken record saying that. Tekken 8 tho? Is literally everything that 7 isn’t or doesn’t have, a story, good customization, actual good graphics, TEKKEN 8 IS INDEED THE BEST.
T5 introduced Raven who instantly became my main in the series. Before that I jumped between Heihachi, Kazuya, Jin, & Law but never had a true main untill T5.
I'm really sad most people don't give Tekken 6 the credit it deserves. Scenario Campaign was actually pretty fun when you got the hang of it. It had secrets, unlockables... The CGI endings are gorgeous looking! Online worked well for me, never had any problems with it. And, man, that customization was so much fun! Trying to unlock everything through gameplay was crazy. Also, GREAT music. It just took Tekken 5, addressed its weak points and released a superb game. Was it perfect? No. But no Tekken besides Tekken 3 is.
Exactly. I always say that. Since Tekken 6, the series truly went away from its martial arts roots from back in the 90s. It's a shame. I mean they're still selling millions of copies which is good, but for long time fans from the beginning, it's a depressing let down.
tekken tag tournament 1 is sooo underrated. FIRST Tekken game with "Tekken Tunes" and "Movies"(ending movies and intro and music from staff roll) if im not mistaken 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tekken tunes was introduced in Tag 2. And all of the movies were featured in this game first. You could access the old movies of Tekken 3 but you needed the old games to see them
Tekken 4 and 5 are my favourite Tekken games of the Franchise. ☯️ By the way Tekken 4 had the best story and atmosphere no doubt. Also my favourite Tekken Intros of the series are 4 and 5. Especially Tekken 4, developers did a lot of things incredibly right, most storylines were incredibly cool and the atmosphere and seriousness was just on a another level. I don't think most would disagree that Tekken 4 had a great"everything-except-the-fighting" to it. Great and Epic soundtracks, unique character designs, good individual stories, and an interesting main Mishima arc revival. The thing is that it's still a fighting game and no matter how great everything else is, if the fighting bit is flawed it'll overshadow the positives. Tekken 4 is sourly the most unique and underrated (mostly because of the choices that hindered the competitive scene) but it is my favorite Tekken to date, because of the very seriousness Vibes of the Story aspects perspective. The seriousness atmosphere of Tekken 4 it's on another level in my opinion. The soundtrack is what gets me the most next to the game's atmosphere. With soundtracks like: Fetus(Prologue), Authentic Sky, Unihabited(Mall Area) Didgerhythm(Jungle Area) Touch and Go(Airport Area) and Kitsch(Beach Area) and The Inner Shrine(Hon-Maru Temple) and others soundtracks, For me Tekken 4 remains even in these days the most Unique Tekken game of the series. ☯️
thats why tekken V is my favorite, i used to play tekken 3 in the arcade with my brother ALL the time, and when we bought a ps2 we bought tekken V we played more of tekken 3 arcade than tekken V itself hahaha, but the game itself is super great while adding the option to play tekken 1 2 and 3 it makes for me the greatest tekken game, if tekken 8 made something similar to add old tekken arcade versions it would be crazy.
Hey can you create a ranking list for "Top 25 Best Fighting Games of all Time" Worst to Best. Want to hear your opinion on what could be the best in the genre.
I love 6 mostly due to the new characters it added. I love Bob and Alisa, and Miguel is one of my favorite fighting game characters ever. So yeah they really knocked it out of the park in terms of roster
Thank you once again for providing a great video for us! Tekken definitely is MY fighting game. I grew up with Tekken 3, 4 and 5 and I loved 6 and 7 as well. But for me, nothing beats Tekken 5 when it comes to pure nostalgia. But I am really excited to play Tekken 8 on PC very soon! 😊 Also, my main are King and Hwoarang!
Holy wow... this video appeared on my timeline and I assumed I would find it crazy but I actually think this is the definitive list. Great work. Every game in the right slot.
Don’t forget, the 3ds Tekken has the movie “Tekken: Blood Vengence”, and it can be watched in 3D (the final fight scene looks amazing, if 3d doesn’t hurt your eyes) Definitley a collectors item, at least for me.
I'd say my top 5 are TTT2, T4, T3, T8 and T5 is my favorite, overall. Great video but I'd say I'd disagree with T8 customization being great. I'd actually say it's lacking compared to the other games. There are much less items available to use. I've a feeling they'll add more stuff with each season, but right out the box, I'd say it disappoints in the customization. Other than that, the game is outstanding.
I played and loved all of the Tekken games, but Tekken Tag 1 is still my favourite. I just loved everything about it. And Tekken 8 is amazing. It instantly became my second favourite game in the franchise surpassing Tekken 3
LOL tekken 8 is the wrost tekken I ever played! To you that at some point of the video said "I m not an huge fan of being juggle like crazy " its a real counter point saying that 8 is the best one
Penguins are scary, I hate the way you can't tell what they're thinking. They have pointy eyebrows that make them always look cross so what I got from this comment is that you're a passive aggressive, angry penguin plotting to rule the world and take over TTJ's channel.
Have not played T8 yet: Tekken 6 (straight garbage. Beginning of the anime over the top cringe worthy story) Tekken 1 (Outdated) Tekken 7 ( zero content, sweats abundant) Tag 2 (T6 gameplay times 2) Tekken 3 ( overrated but decent experience) Tag 1 ( upgraded T3 with visuals & T2 characters) Tekken 4 (underrated, best story, grounded) Tekken 2 (stellar presentation, kazuya boss emotionless passion, god like music, intro cutscene the best Tekken 5 (best overall package. Gold standard to all tekken games)
I’ve got about 1100+ hours on Tekken 7 and already 386 hours on Tekken 8 😅 Though, I have taken a month off of Tekken to play some FF7RB, Stellar Blade and Black Myth.
just like mortal kombat wouldnt be as we knew it without Street Fighter, tekken wouldnt be tekken without virtua fighter. SF and VIrtua fighter are the godfathers
Saying tekken 1 and 2 are better than the 3Ds tekken is crazy. Especially when the fighting mechanics on the 3Ds are way better in those games than 1 and 2.
Tekken just wasn't the same when they went all in on juggles, and one button rage moves Personally, top three is 5, TT2 and a tie with 7 and 8 for third.
Heihachi I main Lars and think Tekken 8 is the best Tekken yet. I've played the games since Tag 1 on PS2 and every game since and 8 just outshines every single one of them for me. Tekken 8 is my fave but my favorite was Tekken Tag 2
Tekken always felt to me like Virtua Fighter without the finesse. Not that it doesn't seem to have finesse, but, boy, Virtua Fighter 4 Evo was the peak, of it, for me.
I thought t5 was ranked kinda low then i realized there's tt2, t7, t3 and t8 still to go. Id argue tou could replace t5 with tt2 or maybe t7, but tag 2 has just so much content that it was a love letter to the series abd t7's gameplay and esport scene and stories elevates it for me above t5. I love t5 dont get me wrong but the balance of that game is not that good, like worse than the recent games.
Tekken 3 was my first Tekken game. I was always fixated on fighting games in the arcade and when this popped up in 1997, i hadn't actually played it till 2000(?) 8 or 9 regardless I was hooked! Eddy Gordo, Yoshimitsu and Paul Phoenix were the three characters I gravitated towards.
I feel everyone sleeping on tekken 4 it had the best nostalgia tunes the best stages the stage size was ridiculous.and the story had a more series tone. I miss that series tone from tekken 4. Paul was more or a series character and now he just seams like comic relief. The narrator the story all of it I just love the atmosphere of tekken 4. They lack tht seriousness now
Death by Degrees would have been great if it was played like Tekken Force instead of being twin stick... with Nina being my favorite character I still managed to complete the game.... but never went back
40:32 Chip damage is actually been in a previous Tekken game, in Tekken 6 PSP you have the option to have chip damage, IDK about the other Tekken games tho
If you think about previous Tekken Tag game, it came out after 3 mainline Tekken games like Tekken Tag 1 came out after Tekken 1,2,3. Then Tag 2 came out after Tekken 4,5,6. That means we have to wait Tekken 9 for Tag 3.
@@PortugueseMACPOW he never said that he was asked if Tekken 8 would have as long of a lifespan as Tekken 7 and he said he hope so and that he said the game would last as long as players want it to and that he hopes that they give them enough time to develop other games
My only experience with Tekken 8 was the demo, so I didn't rank it. I'll probably get the game next week. Death by Degrees isn't a Tekken game, so I didn't include it. This list is my preference, from best to worst. 1. Tekken 5/Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection 2. Tekken 3/Tekken Tag Tournament 3. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 4. Tekken 7: Fated Retribution 5. Tekken 6/Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion 6. Tekken 4 7. Tekken 7 8. Tekken 3D: Prime Edition 9. Tekken 2 10. Tekken 11. Tekken Advance Tekken 5 and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection are interchangeable. Essentially, 1A and 1B. Same applies to Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament, 2A and 2B. As well as Tekken 6 and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, 5A and 5B.
if namco is following the same pattern in time..we liekly get a tekken tag 3 after whatever tekken is released to followup after tekken 8 would be the last one on one game for a title. like how they did tekken 3 then Tag 1 Tekken 6 tag 2 essentially tekken 3 will play like the 9th tekken
Tekken tag 2 is my favorite My mom loves Tekken and she has a PS1, PS2, and Xbox 360 and when I was a little kid we used to play all of them but tt2 just felt the best.im turning 17 today and we still play it together. My best memory was when we unlocked all the dlc characters randomly without paying. I can't wait until we get a Xbox series s so we can play Tekken 8
I main Leroy and this is my first Tekken game back after like 2 decades..lol but I love it they really improved this and it shows! They got a new fan and I'm getting better by the day.. HumbleDayZ online (Tekken 8 is a beast and one of the greatest fighting games ever made)
I did actually enjoy Death by degrees quite a lot. I understand your point about controls, they're not the best, but comparing the game to tekken force or MK is a huge understatement. it has plenty of interesting gameplay mechanics, good variety of combos and weapons and even puzzles are there! also amazing level design (with quite impressive graphics) which can be compared to resident evil or mgs series. the downside for me apart from controls is that's it's too lengthy and difficult, but still a hidden gem that ppl who love weird ps2 adventure games should really try. even not tekken fans.
Tekken 6 PSP will always hold a special place in my heart 1st Tekken owned on portable still play it emulated.... Tag 2 is underated and pure fun with friends is the best especially the Wii U version. Wish they ported Tag 2 to the Vita.
Hell yeah I'm playing Tekken 8. But no mention of Tekken Revolution?! Lol. I honestly put way too much time and money into TR, more than I wanna admit. Why? Because Tekken 7 was in arcades only for 2 years! And I had to get my Tekken fix somehow, and Tag 2 was pretty much dead. Honestly, all of the fancy effects from Revolution seem to have made it to Tekken 8. What bogged TR down though was limiting the player on how much they can play both offline and online. Had they limited the free-to-play roster, instead of hindering play-time, and maybe have a rotation of fighters, they might've been way more successful. TR also had stat boosts and a lot of invincible moves, which really defeated the purpose of a fair and balanced game. I'm curious how it would place in your rankings. I think it might be between T1 and T2 if it were my list.
This is the first time in over 15 years that i agree at 100% accuracy to another guy's ranking, especially on my favorite Game series of all time. The fact he played the same game i did is impressive.
I 100% agree with this list which is rare for me to do...usually a game is out of place but in this one every game is exactly wherr it needs to be. Well done!
Tekken 3 and T³ sparked some of the most fun and casual times I had staying up late trying to unlock all the characters at my cousin's house while blasting music all night. Great times!
When you brought up Nina’s spin off (and basically all of tekken forces), I think they could do another spin off, focusing on the other characters, maybe a Paul and Law adventure. But the one thing they have to get down when it comes to this game style, is the movement. If you’ve played 8, you know it’s a bit disorienting at intense moments when you want to move, but forget you have to use the tekken controls, despite the character looking in a different direction. The stylish controls do help it though, and if they can develop it more, so it can allow more room to do combos beyond the premade ones, making it something like devil may cry or something.
