I'm a beginner knitter and as soon as I figure out intarsia I'm 100% making that duck vest, it's EVERYTHING
@river1216
@river1216 Год назад
P.S. it would be amazing if you made a tutorial for that knit cardigan at the end! as a beginner I think that would help a lot just to kind of see how basic garment construction works and to make something very simple and wearable.

Be empowered, yo! Intarsia is a huge pain in the ass, but very doable. Keep your bobbins in check, you got this! As an experienced knitter, the best advice I can give is to not be afraid of any technique. Dive in and do that shit, without fear, and you will succeed. My first project way back in the day was in the round with cables and stranded colorwork. It turned out like shit 😂 but approaching the "hard" things immediately showed me that Elizabeth Zimmermann was right, that there is nothing to be afraid of in knitting ❤️
@SharpAssKnittingNeedles
@SharpAssKnittingNeedles 5 месяцев назад
@@river1216Speaking of Elizabeth Zimmermann, do a search of EPS. Her percentage system for the proper proportions of a sweater are literally a godsend! Buy all her books, or at least one of the Wool Gatherings that sums it up, and you will be better off. Her writings are so applicable and hilarious, you will not be disappointed!

I think watermelon sleeves are the most iconic ! Only because I’m in multiple crochet groups on Facebook and every single time someone posts that they made crochet sleeves or want to your pattern is always the one mentioned or suggested !

Having a difficult time deciding which is the MOST iconic bc they are all so good! For me its between the Here Comes Treble Sleeves & Duck Vest! I feel like the treble sleeves have been and still are super popular today. And the Duck vest detail and design is sooo delicate and beautiful. More thoughts: I actually like the look of the knit T-rex more than the crocheted version. I'm feel like personally, I'm starting to like knit wear more because the sts are smaller and it isn't as blocky as the crochet wear. So I feel like your knit version of the T-rex will get the attention it deserves! Even more thoughts: I am still in love with the Walk the Line top!! Your make looks good too!!

I agree! I eventually want to make a video of how celebrity stylists exploit small businesses. I've had so many friends who've had things like this happen to them (and much worse!). I'm just grateful that I got the garment back which is a low bar to set.

I like the green variegated raglan top most, it looks most wearable, unless it scratches the throat, a lot of raglan sweaters/jumpers do that, they need, a bunch of shortrows, and many patterns turn to knitting in the round from the start.

What do you do with wearables that don't turn out right and are not actually wearable? I have a fair number of projects I'm just not thrilled with (mostly the fit) and don't know what to do with them. Any suggestions?

Hello, just found you this evening due to YT recommendations. I enjoyed your video & have subscribed and wish to offer a tiny bit of constructive criticism even though you probably won't see my comment since this video has been out for 3 weeks as of this time. I wish that you would have shown your makes on screen for longer amounts of time - they seemed to flash by. Look forward to watching more of your videos!

What you call a balaclava I'd call a snood 🤔 they were super popular in the '50's and even though my mom hates them I think they're lovely, especially all lacy and orenburg style 🥰 makes this gaybro wish I could pull it off but the beard would ruin the look 😂
@SharpAssKnittingNeedles
@SharpAssKnittingNeedles 5 месяцев назад
A true balaclava, named for the famous battle in the Crimean war (history will repeat itself 😢) has a panel to cover the face, with punctuations for the mouth and eyes. A nasty bit of history but a very useful bit of fabric to keep the nose from being frozen off in that wind-blown territory
