What's so sad about the kitty litter uproar is that the kitty litter is/was intended to help children who need to relieve themselves during an active shooter situation, so they a) don't soil themselves, b) don't draw attention by flushing toilets, and c) can maintain their dignity (see a).
A further use is that it's good for absorbing things like vomit. It's a school, kids are going to puke sometimes. Why buy some specialized cleaning material when kitty litter does the same thing for much cheaper?
These are the same explanations I found when I looked up the matter. Fox could've done the same fact-check (which they probably did) but chose to make fools of themselves by reporting otherwise. Fox viewers could've done the very same thing. How can anyone take Fox seriously?
As someone who comes from a country where mass shootings are an extreme rarity in general and almost non-existent in schools (there's only been 2 in my 60+ years), I find it sad and disheartening that this would be a norm in American schools!! It makes me so grateful to be in a country like 🇨🇦 that has common sense gun laws!!!

Anyone who's worked retail knows what that "kitty litter" stuff was about ... there's this litter like substance you use to clean up spills in stores, janitors use it in schools for a similar function, especially bodily functions if a kid is sick or has an accident. Idk what it's made of but it's pretty cool, it's so you can just sweep up the spill instead of deal with mopping and such.

The kitty litter story came from the fact that it was brainstormed that they have something akin to a litter box in classrooms so kids who needed the bathroom DURING MASS SHOOTER EVENTS wouldn’t have to pee their pants. So.

I thought the 'school kitty litter' story grew out of some schools actually having litter in the classrooms. Not for kids who identify as furries, but for use by students should they be trapped inside the classroom during an active shooter lock down. Aha! Brian's list definitely wins. Every single one is a story about something that doesn't matter. Tommy's list is slightly less dumb with the balloon story. It was a legitimate news story, but the coverage was detached from reality.
I think Cancelling Dr. Seuss should be the winner. It is based on two things. 1: A presidential reading list simply did not include a Dr. Seuss book. Does that mean not including The Hobbit is proof they've "cancelled" Tolkein?! Does that mean all books that don't rate a mention are "cancelled"?! 2: The company producing the books decided to stop printing some of them. Does Fox News want a private company to be forced to print books they don't want to?! Do they want government intervention on a private company?! Are they anti-Capitalist?!

The Kitty litter story was because schools are rolling out shooter packs which have tools for when a live shooter is in the school. The kitty litter is so they have somewhere to go.
