The Blackcoat's Daughter has been one of my favorite horror films since i saw it. The final scene, terrified me to my core, and i wish more people knew and loved that film.
I love everything he has done so far, but Pretty Thing is not only in my top spot for Perkins' films, it's one of my favorite horror movies of all time. I rewatch it all the time and find it so beautiful and so haunting.
Yep. I 100% agree with your ranking order. They are all very good... Actually, I'd say only Gretel and Hansel is "very good" and the other three are "great." Maybe Longlegs and I Am The Pretty Thing will age well but for now, The Blackcoat's Daughter is definitely his standout movie. Between The Blackcoat's Daughter, Aster's Hereditary, Peele's Get Out and Eggers's The Witch, it's just crazy to think those movies are all feature debuts.
For me I'd go reverse release order with Longlegs first and Blackcoat last 😆 That film INFURIATES me and I think it cheats its audience in the worst ways 🙃 Still not entirely onboard the Ozgood train but certainly warming up to him.
