download the adobe flash player debugger; I think they took it down but you can still find it on wayback machine. Then you can run the downloadable files from flipline on the debugger. I think this video covers it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dH0Xl7t5Kpw.html
I LOVE THE PLATFORMER PAPA LOUIE GAMES seriously though, i think they're underappreciated by the community. i hope a 4th installment with new sets of skills is coming. also "disappointment skill"💀💀💀 lmfao
tysm for watching!! and yeah I agree so much...I feel like the food games end up getting really repetitive but I've always found the platformers to be fresh and challenging. ig it's because they're kinda "one and done" so people just forget about them
@@Amyoo Yep, I agree! I love the platformer series much more than the gameria series. Also, while the "one and done" part seems valid; however, I don't think that was the main reason why they discontinued the series. It was more because of the closure of Flash which resulted into discontinuation of PC flash games completely. After that, they've been just making app gamerias. However, this may change soon because now they're also doing Papa Louie games on Steam, starting with Freezeria Deluxe. And if the game ends up being much popular on the platform, we may get other Flipline games too on Steam in future, such as the platformers like Papa Louie 4, Cactus Mccoy, etc. possibly.
The vid was so fun! 2:12 I love to think that Papa Louie 3 skills all have some practical merit. Wall climbing has the least, but in some situations you can skip some frustrating parts of the level with it.
As a kid, I never really enjoyed the making-food games, but the platformer were amazing to me. I used Flashpoint to download the game in 2024, and it works like a charm. Really made my childhood better.
Nice to see someone covering the Papa Louie platformers. I used to love playing them and still do, and I'm desperately hoping Flipline will one day grace us with a Papa Louie 4.
@@Amyooeah, I seriously don't get why they didn't have her in an earlier level. That would've been better than giving us a skilless character near the end of the game.
@@Amyoo I don't know if anyone has done this already (plus it would take a while to do), but perhaps you can rank all customers? Even though there are only a few abilities, each customer has a different attack, plus some have weird quirks (like Boomer's unique attack and Scooter's slide). You can also rank them on accessibility, or how easy it is to unlock them. Just an idea.
Wow, this is really underrated. I hope you could talk about both Papa Louie food games and the platformers too! Flipline doesn't have a very large community, especially for the platformer games which seem to get glossed over a lot, even though they're really fun. I'm glad there's someone else who acknowledges the extistance of Papa Louie Platformers.
My ranking would probably just be yours but the skill-less customers would be #10. There are some things I do want to point out however with Papa Louie 2 and somewhat Papa Louie 3. For some reason certain characters can jump higher than others in Papa Louie 2. Mindy, Zoe, Ninjoy, and Xandra all have higher jumps. Zoe has the lowest high jump, Mindy and Ninjoy I'm pretty sure are tied with how high they jump, and Xandra jumps the highest. In Xandra's case, it makes it where with the added Glide boost, she can literally go up higher than a Double Jumper. In fact, I was able to complete all the Double Jumping missions as Xandra (even though you would have needed to do them anyway to unlock Xandra in the first place). In Papa Louie 3, Xolo is the only character with a high jump, and it's the same as Xandra's (minus the Gliding, since he's a Ground Pounder). There's also some weird quirks with characters besides high jumping. When Boomer uses her Roman Candle, it stuns enemies instead of instantly K.O.-ing them. This doesn't happen with any of the other customers weapons. So because of this, you have to shoot enemies twice while using Boomer. However, if you shoot repeatedly at Burgerzillas, they can be killed at the same rate as a Ground Pounder. So while Boomer's weapon sucks, it's good for killing Burgerzillas. When Scooter slides down a hill, she can actually slide faster than other customers. This is probably due to her using her skateboard. Speaking of which, if she uses her Double Jump in Papa Louie 2 and 3, you can hold the down button to make her slide on flat ground, since she's using her skateboard in her Double Jump animation. This is also useful for killing Burgerzillas to instantly K.O. them, as well as for other enemies. In fact, there's a glitch with Scooter in Papa Louie 2 where if you you are on a hill and click the down button and attack button at the same time, Scooter kills everyone in the area! It's crazy how this glitch was still left in the game, also making her the best character to use in Papa Louie 2 because of this glitch! However, in Papa Louie 3, they patched out this glitch. Even though Scooter can't use the glitch anymore, she can still slide faster down hills and slide on solid ground! Sorry if this is a long read, I just wanted to point this stuff out, because even though these oddities aren't skills, it's just weird that these things exist with some of the characters.
This is such a really good video. I've been replaying the papa louie games recently because that basted papa louie can't run his own damn restaurants and gosh papa louie 2 and 3 are still so hard. I've beaten both of them once but I enjoy playing them over again. I enjoy all these skills sort of and I'm really hoping to see a papa louie 4, but unfortunately I don't see it returning. I'm glad to return to this nostalgic series. This is my childhood
thank you so much for the nice comments, they mean a lot!! yeah idk if I just suck at the games but I literally can't kill radley madish to save my life
@@SigmaRat Same!! I love those games, I'd really love to see Papa Louie 4 returning in the future! Especially since they very recently started making their gamerias for Steam, who knows, maybe they will do some platformer games for the Steam in future if they gain enough popularity through the Steam platform.
7:32 to be fair, gliding can sorta do that on the initial glide with the height boost, but its really situational and dosent happen often so its mostly a perk double jump has :p Also as someone who has 100% completed both games, you tierlist is basically correct ( besides some biases but thats mostly just preference 💀)
This video popped in my recommended and idk why cuz I think I've only ever seen like 2 papa louie videos on youtube but I am so pleasantly surprised, it was really entertaining and I liked the concept and shit. Earned my sub. I think this girl would actually make a good youtuber if she tried lol. And videos like this too, where she wants to make a video on her own instead of having to put out a video.
fun fact that I found out myself: You can cheese both of the bosses in Papa Louie 2 with ground pound. Unfortunately, Flipline Studios realized that being able to ground pound every single heart of the boss in one go was a bit too overpowered so they fixed it in Papa Louie 3
I wish Papa Louie 2 and 3 were on Cool Math Games I wanna play them but they’re removed because of Flash being dead 😕 But this ranking is awesome! I remember loving swim boost because it was Utah’s skill lol :D 💖
I commented under the pinned comment about a way you can still play flash games, just not online and aww I love utah too her tiki torch is kinda goated
from a game design perspective i feel like skilless characters shouldnt even exist because once you get a skill character theres basically no reason to use them except for them having more fun weapons like akaris bananazooka at the very least they couldve made less skilless characters, i cant think of a single reasonable explanation for captain cori not having swim boost for example
Many of the non skill characters do have unique weapons ( the banagun, cross bow, pineapple shooter and skull boomerang to name a few)but they tend to be clunky and the other weapons are more consistent
@@joshuaespinoza2117 even if they objectively arent as good as the skill characters ones sometimes, variety still helps a lot and a different weapon could add a unique challenge but once you get literally any skill character all reason to use nonskill characters is just removed other than for completion for me
@@questionmarkquestionmarkques yeah that's very much true, I just wanted to add that non-skill characters do have a bit of variety ( even if it's very niche and not really useful) :p
You can actually span dash but it's not very practical. I believe I achieved it by pressing down and spacebar right in the middle of a dash to continue the dash, but its way harder to do than the ground pound technique and way less fun because if running into an enemy at the end of a dash, you can get damaged and there is no way to avoid it. Im glad I'm not the only one who discovered the ground pound glitch because it is SO fun to pull off in Papa Louie 2.
I kinda use gliding to go across the map without happing to wait on the balloon and i glide everywhere instead of walking but double jump is also good because sometimes im about to fall of the balloon and the extra jump saved meh
Damn the papa louie games were actually so cool though, cuz its like every new character you save can give you a completely new weapon and skill and they have 2 alt costumes two which is so cool. Too bad a lot of weapons are kinda the same and in hindsight, a lot of the skills aren't that exciting. I feel like despite all the great cooking sim games flipline has made, Cactus Mc Coy games will always be their best games. Damn the music in that Game was actually so great too.
cori got done so dirty; in pl2 she had the worst skill and in pl3 she didnt even have a skill even though swim boost wouldve been perfect for her since shes literally a captain they didnt even give her the skill that replaced rock pushing for whatever reason. not cool cori is awesome and deserves better zoe too, what were they thinking putting a skilless in the actual last level
My ranking: 10th Pushing - it has like 3 or 4 uses in the entire game, and useless anywere else. I hope if they ever remake papa louie 2, they substitute this for dashing. 9th Crawling - at least this has more uses then pushing. A simple fix for this would be to allow you to walk crawled anywhere, not just below tight spaces. 8th Normies - unless you're Zoe, this is just the early unlockables. Papa louie 2 definitively has too many tho, I would remove some in case of a remake. 7/6th Wall Jumping/Climbing - both do the same thing, climbing is better becouse it has more uses and has much clever uses then WJ. WJ is funnier to use so it's a tie. 5th Ground Pound - great in Papa Louie 2, useless in Papa Louie 3. 4th - Swim Dashing - makes underwater levels good, but is way to obvious when it needs to be used. 3rd Double Jumping - great for vertical levels, good anywhere else. I just think the next two are better. 2nd Dashing - super fun to use, helps a lot when you're being spamed enemies, and has nice puzzles (level 3 and 8 specially). 1st Gliding - skips half of the levels, makes plataforming be easy, it's availible early on both games and it's fun as h"ll to use.
@@Amyoo you can skip a lot of enemies before you unlock scooter and then you can use scooter in the quicksand level/levels with long vertical gaps/the last level to kill the boss onion second phase instatly once you hit it the first time but you can simply skip them
Why haven't you mentioned that you can insta-kill bosses in Papa Louie 2 with Ground Pound? This is actually very useful for speedruns, or if you just don't want to fight them, or you just fight them for the first time, duh, even for fun, to watch these mfs suffer and be killed in less than a second.
that's a great question! I didn't mention that because I had no idea they could do that. I'll admit that my least favorite part of the game is the boss battles, and normally I'd use a specialized character like boomer iirc
@brunolike8631 that's not 100% true. Gliding is a skill in that game, but it's only 1 character who can do it (Papa Louie). Though as you said, that's because you could only play as him and no one else.
@@Amyoo I just feel like dashing not only gets you through the levels faster but kill most enemies as you do it. The normies just use their weapon nothing else
that's fair...obviously having a skill is always going to be better than not having one but some of them just feel so useless and irrelevant that comparatively they weren't as satisfying/impactful to obtain (hence the "disappointment" skill)
@@Amyoo pushing rocks and crawling are kinda useless in regular gameplay but just saying dashing could've been number 5. I am someone who knows too much about the Papa Louie lore and have beaten 5 of the original flash Papa games and 100% Papa Louie 2 and 3. I do this cuz I have nothing else to do with my pointless life
