Taking the next step towards hiring Pete Carroll's successor on the sidelines, the Seattle Seahawks will begin round two of interviews with five candidates reportedly getting a second look, including Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. We want either Ben Johnson or Mike Macdonald!!!! I know we can't do much as far as hiring them until they are either eliminated from the playoffs or win the superbowl. And unfortunately those are the 2 teams I'd like to see in the superbowl this year. But i do seriously hope it's one of those 2.

Wagner numbers don't tell the whole story. He was horrible against the pass. Watch the film there was tons of plays where he didn't stay in his gap and the RB ran through the huge hole he left. The LB group as a whole were darn right horrible. None of them were even average again the pass and most were iffy at best against the run. Tackles are great but when they are coming 5 yards down field isn't what you need every snap which was Wagner.

Morris took a winning bucs team and made them losers, rams defense has gotten worse since he took over. He is no way going by to build a “winning culture” in Seattle.

Dan Viens just had a great breakdown of Patrick Graham, and I have to say, he's vaulted to number 2 for me, with Bobby Slowik at 3. #1 is Ben Johnson.

Sacks? How about not get pushed around on the run. What good are sacks if a team is running for 150+ easy yards a game. I'd rather have 3 mountains you can't move that stops the run over guys getting to push away leaving huge holes. Which was Seattle's DL most plays.

Pete Carroll got fired twice before having an incredible run in Seattle. There are plenty of second and third time coaches who find their groove after failing initially. You can't just interview first-time candidates.

Schneider wants complete control over the roster. I think that means no Harbaugh or Vrable. He may be the next to go.

Hard to hire a good HC when the GM has the last say of staff and players. Most HC think they know everything and want control. But I think it's important to have someone above them to say no. We aren't hiring X or keeping X.

Rob is right -.McDonald will not accept a head coaching job until his team is eliminated or wins the superbowl. That is a longstanding rule. Also not sure about all the McDonald zoom talk - McDonald cannot interview in any capacity this week - even zoom. The initial zoom interview window for.coaches still in playoffs has passed. Also, Dan Quinn was a head coach. He almost won the Superbowl has a head coach...

I would rather us revert back to being a bottom 10 team for the next 10 years than hire that guy. Being a football fan isn’t always about your team winning. And to fire our best coach in franchise history to the turn around and hire his long time rival is just dirt and I would feel like dirt for supporting a team that would do that.

I hope we don’t hire Morris because McVay will immediately know what/how to beat him-just like Waldron. We need to break completely out of the box and etch a sketch the current Seahawk way gone. MacDonald is the way

Not saying that Morris is the right guy, but you could argue that he has a lot of familiarity with the offense from going after it in practice. It works both ways.

I'm in agreement with Rob. I also don't see them hiring a first time HC, which narrows it to Raheem Morris and Dan Quinn. I think people need to brace themselves for that outcome. Whoever ends up with the HC job, more important are the coaches who are brought in to fill the staff and the players who are brought in, because that's where the real changes are needed.

I was just saying it because these guys said that known of them ever was a head coach. Yeah he did suck as a head coach and he hasn't been great as a defense cordenator in Dallas either but maybe that's the Jones's fault for not getting quality players. he had a couple great seasons with the hawks but they also had great players all around.

No he has the last say. If the HC wants to hire X he can say no. That was the problem in Seattle with Carroll he kept hiring guys he liked over guys who could actually do the DC job. Now there's a check in place to stop the wrong hire. Carroll is still there if he hired an actual DC not one of guys he liked.

Money talks. Seattle can throw money. Players are greedy. Coaches are greedy. Greed wins. Allen has money to burn. You can get whatever you want to pay for. Look at Hill the WR in Miami. He went to Miami for the money. Because it wasn't to win. If he wanted to win, he stays in KC. Miami threw the most money at him. Now he's at a place that will never win while he's there. They have no QB. He had one in KC, and he left for the money.
