Well now I'm joining in to tell you it was like 21 or something if you somehow didn't notice to everyone here I really can never tell if anyone's serious or not he just probably mistyped or looked at someone else's stuff and typed it in by accident
Joey will be always the best becaus3 he is better main protsgonist then every yu... there was. He had the worst deck but he gained them by winning. From beggining to end he had the most development. Even won against god monster but lost conciousness, but it made him more grounded, yu... will always win but watching joey during important fight is bigger mistery.
I understand the choice of Gongenzaka, but now i just want to see Shiunin Sora / Sora Perse, and other characters like him. I don't know who in other shows would be the Sora equivalent though.
@@ab-uh1vv so is mine mako said after he and the ocean separated for a bit he said he wanted to stay faithful and go back to his one true love the ocean
Joey is the best character that didn’t need victories to justify his greatness. Fun fact in the manga Joey actually dueled Yugi before the series began and lost 122 times
It depends on the duel rules at the time. Since Joey dueled Marik on a tournament bracket, him being unable to duel resulted on a DQ which is technically a "loss" by basic tournament rules. Unlike Yusei's "loss" against Kalin Kessler where his bike got destroyed. It counted as a DNF since it's just a vanilla turbo duel.
@@Multifan90 it doesn't matter really. Unless Kaiba is willing to delay the tournament and wait for Joey to recover, Joey being in a coma would disqualify him from the tournament. TECHNICALLY making him the "loser" and TECHNICALLY giving the dub to Marik.
We'll have to look at effect, support, and attack/defense. Right away first series monsters loss points in effects since they have none, dark magician wins the support, and blue eyes and Galaxy has the highest attack
No. 1 is Firewall, it enables * consistent * FTKs and is currently banned, and will forever be banned unless they errata him. No. 2 is Utopia, only because Lightning and Double are a thing. No. 3 is Stardust, because he’s the only non trash out of the remaining aces. No. 4 is Dark Magician, only because his support cards are actually really good. No. 5 is Odd-Eyes, it sucks but at least it’s not Neos. No. 6 is Neos, his archetype is garbage, his fusions’ gimmick makes him unplayable outside of Duel Links and his support, besides Neos Fusion and Neo Space connector, are terrible.
Ace monsters shouldn't be judged based off their power in real life meta game. I've posted this idea under the "best girl" video and the categories were: how many times monster has been summoned in any shape or form (fusions, Stardust evolutions, alternate versions of Utopia and Odd-Eyes etc.), it mirrors how dependant the protagonist is on this monster, how many monsters those aces destroyed and how many times those ace monsters finished off the opponent what mirrors how strong they were IN ANIME under ANIME circumstances.
Joey felt the most human. The most relatable of all the characters for me personally. He has no magic super powers or elite deck. He''s vulnerable, he's emotional, and he loses. He loses often. But he always gave it his best and never gave up. Even bringing the main antagonist to his knees at the peak of his career, and almost winning! He's a loser that through hard work and dedication, managed to wrestle with the best of duelists with a super underwhelming deck. I loved every single one of his duels. You never really knew who was going to win. It would have been such a cool twist if the protagonist's best friend were to beat the main villain.. Joey was THE underdog.
and If you ask me, 50% is actually amazing because: a)Much more engaging knowing the character you are watching has LITERALLY EQUAL chances of winning ot losing, than say protagonists who almost all had around 90% chance of winning and b) he used dice and coin based cards, so his win rate being that of a coin flip is just icing on the cake
Joey is the loser on the ladder using cheese strats because he doesn't understand the game and doesn't want to, and is a huge waste of everyone's time because it's not really a duel if RNGesus determines the winner.
Joey for me. He's got no money, no powers, he's never cheated and didn't have a grandpa that owned a card shop. He built his own deck from scratch. Also, he's in high school...
@@akim1909 you didn't get it. In yugioh usually the luck based cards are solved with coin flips. Coin flips are 50/50 so it is pretty ironic that his luck based deck has a 50/50 win ratio
Here's an idea for one, though difficult to do: Statistically, in duels, which ace monster, either directly or indirectly, was the most useful for the main protagonist?
I feel like Bronk lucked out because they actually mentioned the number of times he won. It's mentioned somewhat in Arc-V that Yuya fights in Gong's dojo a lot, which means Gong might've also fought and won against early Yuya a bunch, but they never gave a figure for that.
To me, I think Crow was the best overall. I know the offscreen stuff was really wild with who actually won, so I’m glad you addressed how.....bizarre the initial final results were. I definitely would like to see a wrap up video for your thoughts on making these videos, comparing all of the winners or other things. Nice work with this series!
Personally Joey and Syrus has great character development as seen from their decks and their duels after meeting their respective MC... And Crow has to be the coolest...
Sees 14 losses...realizes one of them is the Yami Marik stretching the powers of plot armor to its greatest extremes...…..proceeds to set fire to everything in sight
Leonis Yggdrasil Damn right, he is there because he defeated Yuma when he sucked at the game. Soulburner is definitly the best in my opinion, because he defeats Revolver, a feat that only Syrus may reproduce in GX with Chazz.
I was like: omg Bronk is the best friend?😰 BRONK? I mean I'm not judging his analysis but the only dual I remember with him was him and Caswell vs Quattro
I really like Joey, cause he's the perfect balanced Duelist, cuz even though you may know all the skills, tips and book smarts to win a duel, you also need street smarts, as well.
Luck is not street smarts. While it may seem like an advantage, you are battling a superior duelist and deck, so you take player skill out of the equation, but then that means you didn't really win and they didn't really lose. Technically yes, in spirit no. And none of Joey's duels mattered at all, they only mattered in context of what it meant to the opponent. But Joey? I dunno man, time wizard do wibbly wobbly victory is my robbery thing.
@@misteral9045 I mean that's also true, the Time Wizard shenanigans are a bit much, and his Dueling leaves so SO MUCH to be desired, yet he does learn bit by tiny microscopic bit that he needs to be careful of what he has on his board and what he plays, the Duel between him and Marik notwithstanding. And besides him being the goofy side character, he's the only one who has little to no plot armor at all.
@@nicholasdaniel2778 Yes, even an immobile and unthinking sponge picks up pieces bit by bit. Joey absolutely has plot armor, and the luck mechanic comes down how the writers want the story to go. It's like having Yugi's puzzle, but instead of it being an actual power and having meaning outside the duel, Joey just plays luck cards. The only time he ever does anything significant is by seeing how much punishment he can take, like being tortured, which doesn't have anything to do with his dueling skill, and honestly isn't that impressive because taking punishment takes will, not skill. And is also a pretty poor comment on his character, an underdog who isn't actually fighting for anything, he's just kinda along for the ride. All of his emotional support to Yugi is Yugi seeing how pathetic he is and getting a boost to be better than that.
i would have chosen Johan over Sho as the best friend character, because that is basically what Johan became straight away and Sho never really contested it like he did with Kenzan. Also Johan just straight up duelled more, was a better best friend for Judai, and only lost like four of his duels, had one no result, all of which involved Judai, the rest of his duels he just won.
Crow and Joey being bumped up in that last super-special-awesome-chocolatey- fudge-coated-mega last list isn't corrupt. It's the power of friendship. 😏
I was honestly expecting Bronk to have a better win/loss ratio. He has so little presence that I had completely forgotten about the stuff outside of the “Yuma sucks” montage. I knew he’d gotten some Worf effect problems, but I didn’t realize he’d had enough duels to lose seven times.
Joey shouldn't even have been in that duel against Marik He was dead to rights against Odion, but the whole "play Ra to prove that you're me!" thing bailed him out, so I think that loss against Marik is fair
Roswell BlackRose that’s literally plot seeing as Joey was getting destroyed the entire duel and had no way of winning proving he’s marik or not he technically had nothing to prove should have said Joey isn’t worthy Ra and finish him PLOT INDUCED STUPIDITY
That’s not Joey’s fault that’s Orion’s fault either way Joey belonged in that match against Marik but was screwed out of a win because he wasn’t the main character smh 🤦🏾♂️
Black Hood no lol he would have lost against Odin after he busted his ass with that trap deck, marik wasn’t even trying to beat Joey just take his soul and beat up on him he was surprised he stood as long as he did if marik played a real deck I don’t think the outcome would be quite as close
Tyler S. Would have sure but didn’t because he listened to marik and played the card although he knew he shouldn’t have. But marik didn’t play a real deck he underestimated Joey and should have lost but only won through plot armor
Best Girls that have a crush on the main character Rebbeca Blair Cant find for 5ds Anna Aura Brave Battler (suggested) he is so brave that he still dabs in public
Because in 5ds it doesn't exist one (expect if you want to count sherry but she didn't have a crush on Yusei) in the other hand at least 3 girls had an crush on Jack atlas 😂😂😂
I feel like if you threw all of these guys against each other, Bronk would be out in the first 30 seconds or so and it would come down to Crow and Soulburner.
@@ciphymasterofmedia9104 i like to think of Kaito as the "Zane Truesdale" of YuGiOh Zexal. Both Jaden & Yuma never won against Zane & Kaito respectively, they had a draw once against them but nothing more. So yeah, i agree with the "underdog vs elite" term for the case of yuma and kaito
Have you considered doing videos explaining the core strategies of archetypes as designed by Konami? So no deck variations or anything, just the core flow of the deck, created by the cards within that archetype. I think it's a fun idea and may help more casual players choose decks they may want to play, as well as give them the foundational knowledge necessary to create their own deck variations.
What Yami Sean was talking about was that there is at least one other Tristan in Yu-Gi-Oh, as a Ra Yellow student who was one of Jaden Yuki's rivals/friends. Drawing a blank among other series', but they meant the 'Best Tristan throughout all the Shows'...
@ULGROTHA I was just thinking for giving points for enemy monster destroyed and more points for finishing the duel (i even thought for counting turns alive on the field but this one is kinda impossible) , but counting the upgrades is a nice idea too
Syrus is by far the worst one of the group. The others, yeah, they had their flaws but they were still ride-or-die for their buds when the chips were down. Someone explain to me why Jim, Axel, and friggin' ZANE were more willing to go to the mat to save Jaden than his supposed best bud?
bronk is the defenition of a journeyman, once he fought top duelists he lost everytime, this lists need to be with UFC like stats, where it counts only your wins and loses against other contenders, practice duels amatuer duels shouldnt count
Its like if I beat Micheal Jordan 10 times in a row while he was 8 and didn't know how to play basketball. I could still say I beat micheal Jordan 10 times in a row.
@@revolvingworld2676 but that was a practice match, he wasnt in the nba yet, if you beat him once he joined nba that should count even if it was during his last day or first day in the nba. Just how UFC does it, how many top guys did you beat while you were in the UFC? outside the UFC bouts dont count, you need a 14-2 or 19-5 record to even be qualified to join the UFC. There are fighters that have 41-5 records but their UFC record is like 1-4, they say i have 41 wins, people tell that doesnt matter that 1-4 in the UFC matters.
I just recently started watching Arc-V and Gon is probably one of my favourite BFF duelists ever! I'm always really excited when Gon duels. and man his theme music is definitely one of the best in all of YGO!
YGO actually played around with the formula throughout the series. Johan was both BF and rival in GX. Same with Shark in Zexal, though he also became a villain. Yuzu was both BF and female lead in Arc-V. Revolver was both rival and villain in Season 1 of Vrains. Perhaps you could do new versions for the best friend, rival, female lead and villain videos.
One question: Do you count the duels of every series? Crow appeared in 5ds and arc-V. Opinion on every friend: Joey is cool good friend to yugi also funny Syrus got better with every season and i like him Crow is pretty cool and i like his deck and style Bronk is not a useless piece of shit but i still dislike him very much Gong makes me cry as a superheavy samurai lover I never saw vrains which is quite sad because Soulburner looks like a cool guy
Crow wasn't yuyas best friend so counting his arc v duels I don't think it works same with Jack and his place as a rival. And go watch vrains, it's great and from what Ive seen the dub isn't terrible but the subbed version is absolutely amazing. Vrv has the show
@@Vinylmelody1517 well i think it should count because it just shows his skill and we all know whos bff he is even if he is not by his side at the moment. Also thank you for the information about vrv i check it out. One more question how many seasons does it have and is the ending satisfying?
Phantomlord the hidden beast the problem with counting crow's wins from Arcv is the fact that he isn't the same crow from 5ds. Yusei doesn't exist in arc v and the deck crow uses in arc v while the same archtype is still heavily different from his 5ds deck. So personally u don't count those wins. Vrains is the shortest season of yugioh at 3 and season one feels a bit different from. The other two due to the fact that the director of the show changed halfway through with the quality jumping up halfway through
I waited for the Entire Show for Syrus to get stronger... I waited for him and Jaden, both, to ever use Future Fusion, which i play in Fusion Decks 3 Times!
Good to see the Bronk Stone is in first. I do, without the slightest hint of irony or sarcasm, love Zexal. And I’m glad that the sidekicks are able to perform well. But I don’t like that it is at the expense of the main character.
Nyeh That's what I call Joey magic!!! - Joey wheeler from VR RU-vidr name sumato (Try watch his video all his video Yu-Gi-Oh VR is all goddamn funny especially when it come to Joey wheeler) Also my favourite part is where Kaiba watching his cartoon dragon then Joey appear and kaiba say "Joey f**king wheeler!!!" Smash song start Joey f**king wheeler Hey f**k you kaiba into smash
"Joey's the best friend of Yugi. He's been there since the beginning." Me: "Uhh, last I checked, in the beginning, both him and Tristan bullied Yugi constantly until he got his millennium puzzle. Tea was the one who grew up with Yugi since childhood."
Speaking of best friend, the closest friend Yugi had was Atem, although it would be pointless for this video if he put Atem/Yami Yugi instead of Joey...not to even mention Tea who dueled 3 times(?)
@@ladystrigoi4585 Yeah, Tea's record is kinda hilarious. In fact, I have been told that she also dueled Joey about 15 times off camera...and she won every single time.
Altrough his shy behaviour Syrus is an excellent duelist that's sure. Joey the best yugioh friend (not in duel but in the friendship plan he is numbe r1 it's sure). I don't really know Soulburner but Salamangreat Violet chimera is my favorite fusion-monster with Egyptian God Slime, Lunalight Cat Dancer and earth Golem @Ignister) and his Salamangreat Emerald eagle is my second favorite Ritual-monster (the 1st place is water leviathan @ignister and the 3rd-place is Swordsman of Doom Lutmus)
