Ranged: good magic: good but slightly relying on buffs summoner: rely on minion but need good skills to dodge attacks melee: requires no skill and just rely on their overpowered stats

Yes, that's how you do it. The blade staff is OP with whip stacking. But... you do need to kill Queen Slime. The first phase is fine, but after that, it's tricky. I switched to imps mid fight last time i fought her, and that did the trick. You can try making her stay in place, but my strat for the second stage is to fy away because I can not dodge all projectiles consistently.

@@BoBoN4Utono use the sanguine staff. How do you get it before blade staff? You can fish up dreadnautilus in any body of water during a blood moon, so just make like a lake near your home arena makes it so much easier. Or underground so you get no blood moon spawns

@Miguel_I_guess ah yes, the very easy miniboss that can be fought during an event that happens every night. Trust me, I tried getting Sanguine, I had a blood tear from pre-hm, but I failed 3 attempts at my 1st hm blood moon. Good thing another blood tear dropped, and I wasted 2 attempts, then, miraculously, blood moon spawned by itself, but I wasnt really prepared, had to go get bait, and wasted half the night, and then still just died. At Queen slime, it was like 3 attempts, and you can easily get 10+ summons while farming for souls of light. Maybe its just me and the fact that I can't fight bosses if I know I will have to wait for a long time to fight them again, or maybe sanguine isn't worth it...

@@BoBoN4Uto I mean to get sanguine to make blade staff easy to get because queenslime’s attacks are bs. It isn’t actually hard, like at all, just the enemies everywhere and the rng from fishing. Get a sonar potion and prepare, it’s really easy. Underground with background walls the spider staff can crawl around, dealing much more dps than just out in the ocean, and enemies spawn less frequently. Use peace candles/calming potion if you must, needed it for forthworthy master mode playthrough. If you are really struggling (somehow) then you can practice using hero’s mod to summon the boss in manually. Blade staff is better for single target, but the mechs aren’t obviously single target (the prime arms count) so you should be getting both. I just find dreadnautilus a lot easier so that the first one I fight.

@Miguel_I_guess first you say its easy, second you say how I should prepare, but I barely had to prepare for queen slime, I built a platform 1/2 screen height up, and beat 1st phase here, since you can bait her to drop down, and the platform is a semi-safe spot and her minions are reraly on it. On 2nd phase, I hop on my dutchman, fly up and down diagonally. Sometimes she hits me, but the ship is generally fast enough (Also tried minecart, it works, she can despawn and fight takes longer, but its safer ) If I had to fight her second phase without flying away, I see why she would be a bullet hell nightmare. Then I would practice dreadnautilius, actually I nearly beat it in my last meele playthrough (I didnt want to beat it, so i didnt try hard) and the real difference is as you said, You need walls for spider staff, and Im too lazy to place them)) Also, I did beat dreadnautilius in calamity, but I dont count it, since it has different ai, and most importantly, calamity summoner MELTS it, seriously, when I got the staff I realized I dont need it, Calamity balancing at it's finest)

I played melee in my first terraria playthrough with my girlfriend (an experienced terraria player) and another friend of ours and I found it really fun because I was not very experienced at gaming and in melee you can kinda just barge through a lot of enemies without being good at aiming (I am not good at aiming). Also: nothing beats running really fast across the overworld, auto-swinging a big sword and killing everything in your path.

Yep. The counterpoint is that melee usually struggles against bosses, because you'll spend a good chunk of the game with weapons that are purely melee ranged, meaning you have to go close to the boss, and therefore get hit a lot. Later on you get swords that shoot stuff or summon stuff upon hits, and "ranged" melee pretty much beats any other option

Agreed, Melee is too overpowered. Of course there is an argument that you need to be close, to hit the enemy, but it falls away after entering hardmode. The damage and armor are very unreasonable(in my opinion). ReLogic could nerf one of two things to balance things out, and add a special mechanic into it? Like melee becomes ranged with zero ammo, or mage without mana consumption. Maybe some stamina bar that prevents you from spamming leftclick on your Terrablade will help with this but idk.

If they nerf melee, who can tank? Melee is great for tanking and standing still because you are tired of dodging moonlord Lazer. Not to mention it is by far the best solo. And tbh, with the Zenith it becomes godly. In my opinion tho, every class shines in its own way with a melee infront of them. Able to sit back. For example, Mages potential of death beam while consuming more potions than an alcoholic red head. Rangers worse version of mage. And summoner uh- uh...summoners...

melee is hardly melee, you just shoot projectiles, its also really strong for no reason, how can melee deal more damage than magic if magic is a glass canon? melee is like a glass canon without the glass.

I would dodge, but #1: I suck at it, and #2: All my accessory slots are based purely around the idea of "kill them before they kill you by nuking them into oblivion"

@@milkpuddinggameplay7794when I play ranger I fall asleep because bows all work basically the same as the WOODEN BOW(except Daedalus storm bow). Guns are too expensive and ammo is easily wasted, and the dps is often worse than mage while also having like no aoe and very similar armor.

@@rolieekow3907 bro wdym guns too expensive, if you’re having issues with money in terraria just build a small farm takes like 10 minutes. Also if your dps is lower than mage you’re building your class wrong, there is no one who can convince me otherwise. Mage really starts to shine towards endgame. Also ammo is never an issue???

@@milkpuddinggameplay7794 mage has higher dps when it matters?? Pre hard mode it doesn’t really matter. Hardmode I’m pretty sure mage has higher dps for most of it. Ranger I think is second easiest class because I’m pretty sure melee with vampire knives and not too much prep can outheal MOONLORD and other high-damage bosses. Ranger could be second easiest possibly but I can’t be tortured to play it.

just to note with summoner, in early hardmode, if you fight queen slime first (which really shouldnt be that hard) you can obtain the blade staff, which in this video it seems you mentioned as post mech, additionally, you can even skip the blade staff and go for the sanguine staff from dreadnautilus which is even better, and can be cheesed, although the blade staff will make it easier to get, with spiders the process is much harder...anyways that's really all i had to say lol, i havent even watched the whole video yet, im sure ill come back to this comment with more to say! :D

Ranger has bows for crowd control and summoner can get the blade and sanguine staff pre mech bosses. Also summoner doesnt have to mine for ores making early hard mode super easy.

I don't think defense is really all that important. If you got good mobility and damage, then it doesn't matter if you can take an extra hit. I haven't even made it to the 1000 hour mark and I have found having good wings and a dash is far more effective at damage reduction than more defense. After all, why prevent some damage when you can avoid getting hit in the first place?

That's why I use the Brain of Cthulhu as well. Worm scarf reduces damage that you take, but Brain just nullifies it. If only dodge builds weren't nerfed in 1.4.4

@ninguemjao1519 Hardcore Terraria is a pretty niche area of the game. Not many people play it compared to softcover, but even then, it's typically better to have more evasion and damage so you have less chances of getting hit over the course of a fight

The gun vs bow debate isn't really a question of which weapon type I would prefer to use. For me it's more like tech vs magic and I choose magic.

Bows are great for crowd control though, there are so many arrows with piercing and a lot of lategame bows put out tons of arrows at once. Even the hellwing bow can put out some crazy dps. Don’t sleep on the bows in the game

The ranger has a few AOE weapons they can make use of and some ammo that can further assist. Crystal ammo is stupidly easy to get in bulk pre -mechanical bosses costing 100 musket balls and crystal shard per 100 rounds, they fragment when they hit something whether it was a foe or a block, this gives a small AOE attack without the risk of self harm, it makes 2 frags per bullet/pellet meaning a shotgun will not only spray pellets at everyone bjut then those pellets spread fragments everywhere. For ranged weapons you have the launchers, shotguns and stinger explosive dart thing from the golem that can inflict damage in an area even before factoring in rounds. There is something about either landing a sneak build 100% critical sniper hit and watching whatever explode from 1000 damage, up to 2k damage if it had the nerve to find the fragments of crystal or otherwise spraying into crowds of enemies with a seemingly bottomless magazine that gives me joy in ways using a stupid chunk of metal on a stick never could Magic weapons are fun and have alot of variety but you drain mana so damn fast using them as your main damage source, also you are missing a upgrade to vilethorn, there is a crystal vile shard, a hardmode upgrade to vilethorn that absolutly slaps for the same things vile was good for in early game but I think its range is longer and it ignores 10 enemy defense. If I remember correctly my buddy still died pretty often as a melee build, granted I was distant most of the time being a gunner but it didn't seem like the armor makes as much of a difference as it does in games with dedicated from character creation tanking classes.

People always think summoner is the worst until they play with the old ones army armor pieces. Whip tag damage with the blade staff or ufo gives you plenty of damage and you get a ton of armor from the alternative armor.

Tbh, it matters more in Hardmode than in normal really, you can kill every boss combining a bow, a sword, maybe a weakining magic and a summon

Surprised there was no mention of using off-class equipment. I get the desire to use a class totally pure, but since summons are permanent (until you die) there’s almost no reason not to carry your strongest summon item and cast it whenever you die; twice once you find the furniture that permanently grants +1 minion. (until you die, of course just leave it near your spawn next to your other permanent buff furniture and click it once you revive) There’s other decent off-class equipment like the chaos staff, but nothing I can justify as well as whatever your best summon item is.

There are two things I don't really get: 1) Why do you supposedly need to play on a crimson world to be melee? I played on corruption and while I used weapons from all classes, I was mainly melee throughout most of the game, with the exception of the mechanical bosses and Plantera, in which I went mage, and Duke Fishron in which I went ranger so I could cheese it with portals. Anyway, I don't recall having anything that required me to go make a crimson world. Not for something melee related, at least 2) I don't understand mana sickness. More specifically, I NEVER had mana sickness in my playthrough, EVER. Not once. I heard the term a lot, but even though I would spam magic a lot on early hardmode, I never suffered any consequences from doing so. My only mage equipment were these two accesories, in which one would auto-drink mana potions and the other would give more mana regen, I believe. The weapon I used almost exclusively during my mage era was that rod that spammed big meteors from the sky

3:47 It's the opposite, actually. Sanguine and Blade Staff carry, and I'd say they're as powerful as Spirit Flame and Dart Gun at that point in the game. Strongest point for summoner relative to the other classes IMO (assuming you're playing pure). Also, ranger is consistently the strongest class in the game from P-HM (e.g. Undertaker/Musket, Bee's Knees) to post-game (Mk2), even though it can be kind of boring (Although you could argue for Mage>Ranged depending on when you beat Fishron, and how important you consider ML.) If you flip the top 3, I agree :).

Melee is straight up not the strongest class IMO. In Pre hard mode it is easily the worst class, and it doesn’t get super great until after the mech bosses

you forgot summoner sentries. the armor for tier 2 and tier 3 OOA are really good and tanky for ranger: use meteor shot for bounce and penetration for the occasional other issues such as crowd control

I think Re-Logic just hates summoners, the strongest weapon is litteraly behind the hardest boss in the game AND every summon before that is not that good. So if you are going into EoL with summoner you struggle a lot just to upgrade your class. Still my favorite class tho

Dont know how to start this outside of i don't mean to say your video is bad. Still liked it enough to watch to the end Please never use the spider staff outside of killing the dreadnaughtilus or queen slime, it's painfully useless on mechs While i do agree that guns > bows, i love the tsunami and phantasm, along with the stormbow for destroyer also how do you need to play crimson for melee? Do you really grind out a crimson key every melee playthrough? For me and my 20 hour playthroughs that's just obscene, a terra blade is always enough to get me to even moon lord. I see a clear preference to defense here and to that i say: Reforge all accessories to menacing, get a witch's broom, use exclusively offensive accessories, and do 6000 dps with a stardust dragon (you have no idea how fun that is). Granted that's how i play, and it aint exactly better Another preference: Mana regen potions. Dont use actual mana potions. Id rather sit for a second then take a 25% damage reduction

My tier list would be the same as yours except switching mage and melee. People always dunk on the fact that magic users have to guzzle potions to get some continuous usage out of them and lose damage unlike the other classes, but the damage penalty doesn't really matter that much. If you time your potion usage to at worst every 5 seconds, not including the mana stars you can pick up with your magnet accessory, well you will only lose about 12.5% of your damage on average, and that would be the absolute worst-case scenario. I would gladly trade damage reduction for the capability of spamming my weapon any day.

Ok listen, rangers, we don't have to drink a fuck ton of potions unlike mages, and using both guns AND bows are good for a wide range, there ARE some arrows that fire straight, plus getting infinite ammo is as simple as crafting the infinite ammo pouch, and i know the community MIGHT HATE ME FOR THIS but. Melee only gets GOOD when you get stuff that fires GOOD projectiles, it takes fucking A G E S to get good, the only main gripe i have with ranger is having to create an above ground mushroom biome, and god damn it mages feel like they have N O T H I N G in early prehardmode

As a summoner main,i use the obsidian armor all the way to plantera until i get tiki armor, rarely using hallowed armor,oh oops i forgot they neefed the crap out of it oh well

Having the Mage in 2nd isn't something I'm used to for my class of preference, because most videos I've seen put either the mage or summoner in the rock bottom, some doing those "what your class says about you" and just calling mage "you're gross". I find it hilarious in all honesty, and I know they aren't being personal and are just having fun, but its odd to see mage in somewhere that isn't bottom.

Melee in prehardmode is only held up by starfury and the blade of grass. The night's edge comes too late to be good, as WOF (expert+) is terrible for melee weapons. You can get the blade of grass and the starfury quite easily though, so once you acquire those weapons, prehardmode is a breeze. Pre-mech, melee suffers another hurdle, since all the mechs are quite anti melee. The shadowflame knife and the flying blade are lifesavers for melee players, as they have an insane amount of range. After that, melee has zero hurdles and curbstomps any competition

Eh, Night's Edge is second or third best weapon against the wall after the Star Cannon and arguably Phoenix Blaster with meteorite bullets. Idk why you think it's bad, the dps is insane, you only have to build a proper arena to maximize its dps

Summoner is definitely my favorite. Haven't played Mage yet. Summoner is awesome. Range is Really Good and 2nd favorite. I feel Melee is just too OP. It feels awesome, but that makes things so much more easier. And another thing, Dodging is far better than Tanking. More fun too.

I honestly disagree hard about summoner and I'll even put it closer to my top, if not at the top of the list Some points from what I've experienced in my current Master mode run (first time playing summoner!) and reading up on future summoner things: - The summoner armor is actually balanced, you're just neglecting the fact the class prefers a "fire and forget" approach so you can focus more on evasion; yeah the whips want you to be up close and personal too but their tags last a few seconds so you don't _always_ have to be in proximity - Whips can be inconsistent and to some just make the class "Melee+" but there's some strategy in using multiple whips at a time as their tag damage bonuses stack for your minions, helping with your DPS tremendously. From what I can tell in your footage, you were only using one whip at a time, which is very not conducive to having a good time with it - This whole class feels like it's built around exploration, and I love that aspect about it! Like, seriously, when was the last time you gave a serious second thought to things like: > Hard Mode spider caves > Old One's Army just in general > Hell, even Snow Flinxes and their notorious lack of knockback resistance Chances are these only crossed your mind during a summoner playthrough, because they're integral steps for a summoner run. That's what I love about summoner, I've been encouraged to interact with parts of the game that I normally never think about, and I'm getting much more out of it than I feel like I have any other class

Melee is the best and i’m tired of pretending it’s not. I just love high damage. Your health pool is just a resource to sacrifice to get more damage with a more aggressive playstyle and melee has the most aggressive playstyle in the base game and makes use of the health pool the most by having the greatest defense. Warding is my favorite reforge because I can make use of my health pool better for more damage. Melee is genuinely my favorite because I like the utilizing health as rations to fuel a melee crusade of inflicting as much damage as possible onto enemies. My favorite modded class is the Thorium healer class because it lets me make use of my health even more than in the base game with self-healing spells and even encourages any friends i’m playing with to do the same when I speck fully into a maximum healing build. Melee is under-appreciated because nobody thinks to utilize their health pool for offensive purposes.

I only really ever play melee and ranger in play throughs because for mage I cba with mana sickness and low defence and for summoner I cba with laughably low defence and minions not targeting enemies, what’s weird is I use melee but play in a ranger style only really projectile melee weapons and staying back because even though the armour is the best you only really tank a few extra hits (in master mode) I would go full ranger but that few extra hits that you can tank makes or breaks a boss fight however ranger is fun asf tho even with the lower defence

I cannot tell if this ranking is in terms of viability or personal enjoyment, you keep talking about how a class performs but then go deep into why you enjoy them, it makes it really weird to watch as you switch from opinion on fun to opinion on viability but i am going to take this list in terms of viability For reference i have as of writing 3800 hours in the game total and 1400 hours on vanilla alone, i have nohit all vanilla bosses, i've done extensive playthroughs with every class and with several restrictions like banning weapons based on usage, restricting movement such as no A D keys and no wings or jumps in a bottle and a no npc run 2:10 Ok first off, the lack of defense really not that large of a concern, in master mode where it matters most enemies will do 100's of damage anyway, at best defense from armor will let you survive 2 extra hits compared to melee, Your example of obsidian versus molten is just whatever, considering wofs eye lasers do around raw 90 damage on master taking 65 per vs 75 for a huge dps boost is a really good trade off expecially when you consider the threshold to kill is a 1 hit difference (7 hits for melee, 6 hits for summoner), And the obsidian armor is certaintly not summoners best armor, at least not after the nerf to whips with them not benefiting from melee speed, having 3 vamp frogs/hornets attack is way more important than a petty extra few damage from whips, even if you have less control over them 3:00 The (unofficial) main intent of the whip is to give extra damage to minions not guide them, tag damage stacks up really fast with fast attacking minions, even going as far as to make the blade staff viable up until empress of light and duke fishron because you can just stack so much damage on top of each other along with damage reducing items and also to give the summoner a bit more controlled damage, even if the devs intended the whips to be a guide that way of using it is already outdated 3:20 I actually very much agree here, but it should be noted that vampire frog staff can be led to attack the top eye of wall of flesh, making it have to jump up to attack and hit every segement, boosting it's dps and making it actually benefit from being on the ground 3:29 Bro, you're wearing the anhk shield and boots at a stage in the game where you only need wings and a dash for movement, summoner only really needs the 2 scrolls to get a big jump in dps which isn't even a full nescessity and literally every other class has at least 1 item like that (Melee's gloves, Magic quiver/sniper scope for ranger, mana reducing items and destroyer emblem (because of how spectre armor works) for mage), you're straight babbling on this point 3:38 For pre-hardmode? sure but not for the autoswing, for the speed since its one of your few sources of damage, and even melee can relate there, but dude, bro, buddy, chum, pal, if imma be real with you by breadslice, if you cannot use whips without autoswing you're a lost cause If anything a lack of autoswing can help in quickswitching as you aren't accidentally stuck on a whip by pressing a bit too early, Hell if it was pre 1.4.4 maybe i'd have agreed but nowadays you can just spam the whip and be fine, and even then the bererker glove is a really great option for the summoners who do want to do crazy quickswitch blade staff speedkills and i generally recommend this accessory to anyone playing the class, but it's only a nescessity if you're playing the most skill intensive loadout (nieche) with the blade staff, or a massive dps spike with the firecracker sanguine combo for mechs 3:54 & 3:57 don't be a wuss, fight dreadnautilus.. Or be a wuss and fight him in a box idk just get the sanguine staff, Or alternatively you can put walls in your arena so the spiders can effectively fly, it's still a pretty bad weapon but its way better with walls, OR if you wanna get REAL creative Use abigail: The garbage terrible summoner weapon you can get at the start of the game that becomes mech viable somehow (you'll need a bewitching table or pots because of how it works tho), be a bit more creative or a bit more brave 4:12 Yknow, if you play well and try new stuff out, you may actually enjoy the class and be good at it, having such limited options is a downside for sure, but limits are the birth of creativity and new stratagies, summon spamming, walls for spiders, abigail for mechs, blade staff tag stacking, all that was not found in a day, stop hitting your head against a wall cuz you'll break yourself faster than you'll break the wall 4:34 so the class that can beat the game with 3 weapons without even breaking a sweat is considered top 3 (boomstick > stormbow/uzi > tsunami)? theres no way you've got 1.5k hours 5:59 You have crowd control weapons, and it's not a small amount either, Heres a comprehensive list of really good crowd control weapons and just really good weapons in general: Snowman cannon, Jack-o-lantern launcher, Eventide, Elf melter, Electrosphere launcher and even the Stake launcher Which you even mentioned (It has 9 peirce) along with rocket launchers I'm honestly speachless, the pillars aren't a pain with ranger you're just a moron 6:38 ok now you're just making up stuff to say, if you have to nurse cheese bosses you're already playing with training wheels which at that point just reduce the difficulty, but you can just use smart cursor to talk to her, again just use your brain a little 7:37 Addressing it doesn't mean you're not it, you can have an opinion but when they're as uninformed as yours it really doesn't make you look any good 7:45 - 8:08 Contradiction city 8:38 Well your egoness, The generally best weapons tend to avoid mana sickness as much as possible and it really doesn't become a big problem with the right play 9:10 boohoo i only get 38 defense and the best armor set bonus in the game Mage armor bonuses are so wild op that some sets could have 0 defense and still be viable (mainly thinking of titanium headgear, diamond robes, mythril greaves set and spectre armor) 9:20 Mage is LITERALLY known for shredding destroyer with several weapons, nimbus rod, clinger staff, ToIW, Meteor staffand even outside of destoryer shredding mage has Resonance scepter, betsy's wrath, staff of earth, life drain , Flamelash, Vilethorn, crimson rod, weather pain all have very good crowd control And sure mage may have little weapons that can go through blocks, but too bad, just get good, that really is not the end of mage you just need to play better, if anything it makes the class more fun because you don't have an imediate advantage over other enemies 9:38 Ok? How does this explain how this class is fun, this says nothing about the class 10:50 I haven't brought it up until now, but why did you mention the endgame armors at all, they're useless, you don't use them for any other boss, they mean nothing, you also just don't explain why the turtle and beetle armor are great? 11:23 The magama stone is actually a really cool and underrated acccessory and i think it's debuff stacks with on fire too BUT YOU DIDN'T EXPLAIN WHY, in 1.4.4 a new debuff was made to make some later fire and lava weapons stronger called hellfire which does 4dps instead of 15 and it's great for melee because melee can bearly do anything against wof and will take anything it can get 11:43 I would like to see you use garbage weapons like the gladius, ko cannon, mushroom spear, code 2, malaise/artery, keybrand, frostbrand, beam sword, jousting lances, sleepy octopod and more that i cba to name on an actually hard boss 12:00 It comes as a huge surprise people actually still think the vampire knives are good since they are completly useless after all of the nerfs they gave to the poor thing, it's not even worth considering unless a mod buffs the pile of needles, they were nerfed to high hell on their healing and are gotten at a point in the game where you can already get 8hp/s healing with just 1 valhalla chestplate, 1 regen pot and a heart lantern making other healing options more enticing, They don't do jack for damage either, their dps compareable to even the bananarang at a range and even when the vamp knives shine best when they are point blank, they don't even do enough damage to surpass the scourge of the corrupter, the alternative biome chest weapon at long range and at that point you're gonna lose more health than you heal because of how close you are to your enemy, with the vampire knives you will either be taking an unnessessary risk by going close up and taking more damage than you heal or you will be at a range extending the fight and getting hit more than if you just used a more damaging weapon, the vamp knives are in a pathetic state and are an overall worse off option that literally anything else at that stage in the game + a charm of myths Yeah these takes are just completly horrible, this may be the worst take on terraria i have seen in a solid year (nothing will top the bananarangs being viable for moonlord take though but the fact it's even remotely close is embarassing), at this point i don't even believe you have 1.6k hours, with both the cocky way you write and read script in general and specifically what you said in 1:02 it makes you come off more as a preschool bully who wants to show off and impress at the playground and just says stuff at random hoping to sound like they know what they're talking about, i thought i was just gonna share my general opinion and knowledge and now i've written like 50 lines of text

I completely agree with this. I have a little over 1,600 hours, though I've only played the game for a little less than 2 years, but I know that defense hardly matters if you can dodge properly. Out DPSing a boss leads to less damage taken in the long run. Though I haven't beaten vanilla expert mode yet, I have done quite a few runs of Calamity on Expert Revengeance and a single run in the Fargo's Souls Eternity mode. Melee is a little too overrated due to its tankiness and versatility, even though it technically is the best class in the game, but I personally think it needs to be balanced with the other classes.

@@frosbeechill You've got the wrong idea, DR and regen make defence irrelevent not dodging The dodging point is exclusive to melee because of it's low dps tier and how little defence compensates for it, DR and regen are so strong that theres no point investing in defence or even having defence as compensation for such low dps And melee is not even close to the best class in the game, it does everything worse than the other classes even after the rework although the rework does make it significantly better than before, It DID used to be the best class in the game but thats only because summoner whips gave it insane attack speed, outside of that it was worthless but now there is some value to be had and is comparable to the summoner class in viability

in my opinon mana flower of mana potions are not worth it whenever i run out of mana i just use a melee weapon until it charges back up i usualy just use a yoyo or smth cause you can use it from a range cause mage defense is bad

I think the part of the mage is right, I think the problem I have with range is just the guns feels the same and the bows are better, melee is most hated because dont have a great true melee but i dont think that is a problem, but defense is not that great of a deal

For me 1. Summoner The reason:its so much fun to play with and for me its easier than the other classes and way more fun except mage 2.mage The reason:because its sooo much fun to play with its even morfun than the summoner but its little bit hard and in the early hardmode its so boring i slept for a days just to get the orange zapnitor and i didn't get it and i used the crystal dragon i I don't remember the name to kill the duke the waiting was so boring but after i killed the duke everything changed the game became so fun 3.ranger The reason:i don't know i just loved it specially the crystal bullets and the chain gun 4.melee The reason i played it once and i didn't continue it and i deleted the world and the character because it was so boring. (Now i am playing as melee because i wanna try it again and yeah till now it is fun i am building a bases to make pylons so i can go to hardmode :) .)

i agrea but i would swithc mage with archer class... I'm doing mage playthru right now and with all the nerfs and that fing mama sickness its not fun, and atm I have no idea how to beat mech bosses cause nothing works... on master mode archer I beat it full it was possible, on expert mage I just cant wtf

You're a liar. Pillars are a pain for all classes, summonerx meele, mage, I did pillars with all of them, without cheesing a bit its all hell. And how are stardust cells a problem? Use high velocity bullets or just explosive ones, they are not the problem. The hardest pillar, if you dont cheese it with larvas, is the vortex pillar IMHO. And bow argument is just wierd, I agree that guns are cooler, but bows get the potion and accecories. But you can negate gravity with jester arrows, or use special bows, like hellwing bow. But thats not bow's speciality, their strength is AOE damage and crowd control. Hallowed arrows are still very, very good. Still, I do agree its not the best class. My problem with ranged is aiming, chlorophyte byllets solve this issue, but its only near the end. While other classes have aiming options early in the game, or they dont need to aim, just swing in general enemy direction. (summoner and meele)

I think mage is a worse class than summoner. Let's take the meteor shower for example it's a worse daedulous stormbow doesnt cant use ammunition which makes range stronger and uses mana. also I just started a summoner playthrough it makes the eye ez but not king slime.

Summoner has to be the most skilled based but also strongest out of all the classes (especially when you're using 3 whips) however though i will admit i am not one of those guys who can literally almost dodge every projectile my way while also carrying 3 whips at the same time while my summon melts the boss Melee class is the least skilled based as you can survive most hits do a lot of damage and not think about how low your defense is one problem though ZENITH IS A PAIN TO CRAFT i ain't doing all that, I mean sure its craft tree isn't as MASSIVE as other weapon trees are but STILL my goodness gracious would be a shame if you threw away that copper short sword and you had NO COPPER left for some reason Ranger think about mage but without infinite ammo welcome to the ranger class where we have limited amounts of bullets we love the homming bullets but they're expensive right? much more painful to mine all that ore without a Veinminer/Ore excavator however even if you have limited ammo one of your guns has some of the highest amount of dps in the game (which might be locked behind moon lord if i remember that one dolphin looking gun) But why mine and use up resources/gold and coins when you can use MAGIC Ever wanted to drink an absurd amount of blue liquid and keep spewing out cool magical beams Mage class is your man Ever want to Shoot things to death with a uh cool scepter?? Mage has you covered while not having as terrible defense as summoner you are now probably in the middle as there are some tanky armors that also have magic powers for some reason Also you get homing stuff early game and not late game like a certain ranger class who likes to use up all of their resources Why is melee class not played as much? People like a challenge and melee class has too much defense with a little need to dodge some hits Now if you wonder why summoner is played a lot hmm low defense, skill based, and lots of DODGING with your low armor protection trying not to get hit gives you some thrills and then satisfying kills against a boss with your summons. Sure melee has range but its not as quickly fired as the other classes especially with summoner not using ANY resources like mana potions (though they can be bought with coins and such) and bullets with ranger Summoner to me is honestly the most silly class of them all having no armor in turn for VERY HIGH GOOD DPS

some nitpicks: 4:24 summoner is easily the worst class, because it cannot deal any critical hits once you factor that in, summoner turns from bad to sheiße dont forgot i frames, which effect many prehardmode minions and force you to use multiple minions for example, every summon of the vampire frog use the same i frames, so 100 vampire frogs do as much damage as 1 on a single target 9:52 for some reason each weapon is growing at different rates why do the pngs that pop up on screen grow anyway?

I think the Vampire Knives are still better because of the lifesteal, but the SotC is definitely underrated, it's really fun to use and can get insane DPS if you use it right.

Kinda mid video overall tbh. Was hoping for better explanations of the reasons behind the placements. Also a lot of things that arent correct. Feral claws is a must for a summoner? Just switch on autoswing🤨 "I hate relying on others" 1 cringe 2 The summons are weapons. They arent sentient beings. Theyre no different from guns or swords. The only thing i can get behind is melee probably being best (not fun wise) because its pretty much mage/ranger with higher defence. Defensive builds are soooo boring tho😮‍💨 aight rant over have a good day

i think youre just bad at the game for the summoner opinion. After 1.6k hours in terraria you would excpect someone to learn core mechanics of the game like dodging... and turning on autoswing for whips in the settings... knowing there is actual flying summons in early hardmode (blade staff (if you can beat queen slime) and sanguine staff) both of which can carry you up until and past plantera. the low defense can easily be countered by getting a berserkers glove and getting all accessories to warding, i was up to 120 defense endgame in my last run. so in conclusion, you might be bad at the game.

Terrible ranking, heres mine: 1. Mage - Incredibly strong throughout the entire playthrough except for early pre hardmode. Weapons like the bubble gun, bat scepter, razorpine absolute shred through some of the most difficult bosses and events in the game. It has decent defense that allows you to make a few mistakes during a boss fight. Just a really balanced class with strong dps. 2. Summoner - Strongest dps class in the game (4500 dps on ml with no whips is insane). With whip stacking and proper choice of minions, it becomes ridiculously powerful. Why would you need defence when the bosses die under a minute? Summoner becomes even stronger when you forgo defence and movement for pure dps; using a mount instead. And goes even further if you decide to multiclass it with mage. The only drawback to this class is the knowledge and skill required to play it. Getting summoner gear pre-hardmode can be a bit tedious and optimizing the class will take work. Oh yeah, it also has the strongest pillar weapon, which is quite important in fighting the hardest boss of the game. That said, I will not stand summoner slander. 3. Ranger - Very easy to use and very balanced. Although there are a few standout weapons; the ranger is not incredibly strong in any particular stage of the game. Its dps and defence are just average; some mechanics are barely usable like shroomite stealth. Solid class especially if you know which ammo type to use (hint hint, it's not chlorophyte). 4. Melee - Even with the rework, melee is still the weakest class. While melee has some incredibly fun and strong pre-hardmode gear, it falls off in dps in a downward slope. While it has the highest defence, the game also punishing for classes that "tanks" because modes like master do way too much damage for taking constant hits, not even mentioning challenge seeds like ftw and zenith. I'm also in favor for dodge accessories as you can easily get comboed. Bonus: Multiclass - this is the strongest class. That said, the power of the classes are not as different as I am making it out to be. This is a game that is quite balanced. And obviously I know you didn't base your ranking completely on strength.
