Ranking the Areas from Mario and Luigi Partners in Time (New)

Fun story: When I originally saw screenshots of this game's Toad Town in Nintendo Power with the subtitle "Mario and Luigi: PiT", I didn't realize it was an acronym and thought it was from a new game about Mario and Luigi falling into a pit and having to fight evil mushrooms underground. (I assumed the T was just capitalized to make it "edgy")

I think Hollijolli village has one thing going for it. The tutorial grasslands at the beginning is the only part of the Mushroom Kingdom that never fell under Shroob control.

My headcanon: the “big monster” at HoliJoli Village was just a Dr. Shroob that -got high on shrooms- sized himself up with a mushroom like they do in battles, but in reality is just so much of a coward that he runs away whenever Mario and Luigi show up.

I totally agree. The atmosphere of Star Shrine is a very relaxing break from all the depressing stuff that's going on in the game (In my opinion). Every time I do a run of the game, it's almost always for this area only

Although you're generally more of a gameplay guy than a story guy, I can clearly see that some of these placements and your appreciation for some of these areas are influenced by the story that takes place in them. The dark and fascinating story beats in this game are the main reason I love it.

Theory: The shroobs in bowsers freezer were planned to be used by him in the future to destroy the Mario bros

Game idea?: The game takes place in an alternate PIT, elder princess shroob defeats and eliminates Mario, Luigi, and all other life. Fawful upon realizing it seeks to awaken the dark star he came into contact with underground, but has no choice but to enlist the help of the now in hiding bowser. The game takes place in the present and therefore the world has been entirely shroobified and the player controls both bowser and fawful(who is always flying on his headgear behind bowser). They encounter shroob robots, and add other creatures for bros attacks. By the end they find daisy who was kept captive by the shroobs for expierments and take her power to reawaken the dark star. However the dark star binds with elder princess shroob, and fawful and bowser defeat her and destroy the darkness

You know,it's kinda sad how they didn't recycle the hub-world structure from this game. I really liked the idea of having a central area which connects to all the locations in the game. But I can totally see why they chose to not bring it back for future games

Koopa Cruiser: Am I a joke to you?

When it has its highs the game areas definitely do shine and I believe a good chunk of them are pretty great, but man the lows on the others hold it all back. Toadwood forest is an example and is probably my least favorite. Such an amazing and creepy setup.... only to have waiting for puzzles. Yikes. Number one is definitely well earned though

It’s amazing how much time has gone by since you’ve begun your channel, it still seems like your channel was made a couple of months ago, and Congrats on more than 2,5k! It’s guaranteed you’ll get 3k before the year ends! Now, my favorite area of my favorite M&L Game? Well, there’s Thwomp Volcano with its catchy music and fun climb, the depressing Toad Town Ruins, and the Vast Gritzy Desert. But my favorite area has to be Star Hill and Star Shrine both combined, it has some of the best Puzzles in the game, some of the most intuitive Bosses in the series, and really good music.

Honestly PiT has the best areas, the only one I really find weak is Shroob Castle and not because it’s bad, just that It’s too similar to Fawful’s Castle which is better in every way. My favorites are Toad Town, Star Hill, Star Shrine, Vim Factory, Shroob Mothership and Thwomp Volcano

Alright. I’m gonna say this! I have two small things in my opinion in favor of Baby Bowser’s Castle’s music over Shroob Castle’s music. (Honestly, I have no idea which one’s worse. Both themes suck!) 1. It’s original. Shroob Castle is basically a rehash of Shroob Mothership (well, basically just the general Shroob motif) and honestly, the Shroob (Mothership) theme is just better. It’s faster, it doesn’t feel like a bore to go through, and I think the midi chorus in Shroob Castle is slightly bothersome, which is just not in Shroob Mothership. 2. Those 7 seconds. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B56F_Wf09A.html No seriously! That’s the fullest (and best) part of the song, and it kind of felt refreshing a little bit! Shroob Castle felt almost the same all the way, and combined that with the already boring mood would just make a boring song. Even Mothership has something notable with a better build-up and rest part, as well as an actual intro. Honestly, both areas conveyed their theming well. Shroob Castle used the Shroob motif for a good reason (they literally assimilated the area!), and Baby Bowser’s Castle feels purposely bad because Bowser is a baby. Basically, Baby Bowser’s Castle theme is really empty with one good part, Shroob Castle’s theme is boring all the way, and the Shroob (Mothership’s) theme is superior to the other two!

I think that PiT has one of the weakest selection of areas in the series. There are too many of them, and some of them suck. My least favorite M&L area is Shroob Castle.
