Fun fact: there is a vererrrrrrry rare chance that the pocket chomp will actually be female, the female chain chomp is less aggressive, and moves SLOWER, which gives you more room for error.

The moment at 1:40 where they shoot at flying Kamel is so painful hahahahaha Did you know you could shoot with the babies so the fire goes up?

One thing about the Smash Egg that you missed is that if you use the X or Y buttons you can lob the egg into the air, strengthening the next hit.

Fun Fact: This is the very first game where the E in E. Gadd is confirmed to be Elvin.

When the babies are piggybacked, you can use fire flower to hit flying enemies if you spam X or Y.

When I first got the mix flower, I initially thought I may have accessed something earlier than I should've, because holy bajeebus this thing is overpowered! Literally CREMATES groups of enemies, and it isn't even that hard to pull off! Definitely agree on putting this in number 1.

My Ranking would probably be something like this… 10. Bro Flower (I don’t understand why the name is the way it is when the three most recent games have “Fire Flower” anyway this ability is only really useful against enemies with an elemental weakness to fire like Petey Piranha and Sunnycide. Otherwise it’s completely obsolete. Especially when Burn status here is as obsolete as it is in TTYD.) 9. Smash Egg (I’m really bad with this one. Sue me. But also, the only thing worthwhile about it is the item you get at the end. Dizzy is a worse Burn and there’s just better items really.) 8. Green Shell (It’s the tried and true First Bros. Attack. Not much more. Completely obsolete by what comes next.) 7. Pocket Chomp (This is an interesting attack, but it’s also unwieldy to utilize and timing one of the three potential buttons makes it easier to end the attack. Not one I use very often.) 6. Red Shell (Better Green Shell since it’s actually indefinite and able to screen wipe if buttons are timed properly.) 5. Cannonballer (A very potent early game attack, but it loses itself towards the end despite the elemental weakness towards Sunnycide.) 4. Trampoline (Dizzy is pointless. But it’s an indefinite Cannonballer. Not as good as the top three.) 3. Mix Flower (How to wipe out AoE scenarios 101.) 2. Ice Flower (This one is always one of the best ones thanks to the debuffs actually meaning something and the fact that every single type of Shroob is weak to Ice except for Princess Shroob.) 1. Copy Flower (Yep. This game is unbalanced. This attack decimates. It’s everything that makes an OP ability.)

OK, looking through the footage you used while talking about the Fire Flower, I am *_convinced_* people do not know how to use it on flying enemies until last minute. For context: if you have the quartet together and use the Fire Flower, you can press the X or Y buttons instead of A & B to aim the Fireballs at flying enemies with the Baby Bros. The same thing can be done with the Ice Flower as well. I learned this from watching Chuggaaconroy's playthrough of the game. That being said, my favorite Bros. Attack in this game has to be the Mix Flower when it comes to the Quartet, and the *_FUCKING ICE FLOWER_* when it comes to the regular ones.

I agree with most of this list. I'd say I prefer Copy Flower over Pocket Chomp though, since it does more damage and I honestly find it easier to use than Pocket Chomp. I still think Mix Flower is indeed the best though. Copy Flower is amazing for most bosses, but Mix Flower can be even better if you're dealing with multiple targets, such as Elder Princess Shroob's second phase. Additionally, it's much better for regular enemies, as you said.

I just finished playing this game recently for my channel. The mix flower helped me cheese every enemy fight in Shroob Castle with one move because of the Ult-Free badge. I never ran out of items. The Copy Flower was OP for the boss fights.

I agree with the sentiments for most of this list. For me personally, I stopped using the Bros Flowers and the Green Shell pretty quickly, I think around the time I beat Wiggler. Pocket Chomp was only used for the Shrooboid Brat, and then never again basically. That being said, a few years ago I did a personal challenge where I tried to beat the Shroob Princesses while only having level 4 stats (it was a cheat with the emulator I was using). And to my surprise, the Pocket Chomp carried me through most of it. With the best armour and badges in the game, you'd see Bros Attacks doing at most 4 damage per hit. On younger Princess Shroob, Pocket Chomp does 8 damage per hit and on Elder Princess Shroob after a Defence debuff, it'll do 16 damage per hit. Obviously doesn't sound like a lot but in the context of that challenge, you'll take all the extra damage you can dish out. So that's a neat little thing that boosts up Pocket Chomp for me. I think objectively, the Copy Flower is the most consistently useful. For the reasons you stated, plus the fact that it's the quickest way to deactivate Princess Shroob's barrier at the start of her boss battle. For a more opinionated number one slot, I'm giving it to the Trampoline. I don't really use it in normal battles much due to there more often than not being at least two enemies, when I'm using them in boss battles I'm having a good time. And also from what I've seen, while the Copy Flower and in some cases the Pocket Chomp end up doing more damage overall after the string of attacks, the Trampoline does more damage per hit. With the right equipment, Mario can do 102 per hit without a crit (best armour plus Risk Badge). All in all, good list. 👍

The smash egg is probably one of my favorite specials in the M&L series. Whenever i think of partners in time that’s the first time that comes to mind.

You can actually use the Baby Bros in Smash Egg to speed up the egg by pressing their button when it goes to Mario/Luigi, making it hit harder but making it more powerful.

At the time this video came out I am still playing Partners in Time after a year. I didn't lose a boss battle or give up I was just simply busy or there were other things that sparked my interest and I was playing on a emulator which was laggy from time to time. Currently I'm in the final area of the game beating the crap out of every enemy I come across and grinding coins for more Bros. Items. I will be stacked for the final boss!

I've one shot Elder Princess Shroob's first phase with Copy Flowers before... that item is so overpowered

I just realized that the Mix Flower’s sprite looks like a combination of the fire flower and a ShineSprite from Mario Sunshine.

I love PIT,but damn this game is basically a button masher,even compared to Superstar Saga Not only that,but I never actually realized how over the top some attacks were,not just in terms of damage but even design-wise Mix Flower is basically a freaking Supernova and with Copy Flower you basically have an endless army as long as you're fast enough And people say Falling Star is op,geez

What do you think shroob about the smash egg when you also use the babies while doing it?I just see everyone forgetting about these feature(same with the flowers) and that sucks.

It's been a while since I played bit iirc. 1:44 using X and Y will make the fireballs arc instead of bounce while the babies and bros are together allowing you to hit flying enemies

In my experience Trampoline is actually easier do vs copy flowers. For me the slower nature of the attack makes it easier to execute

I think it should be worth noting that if you successfully land all 16 hits on a Green Shell, regardless of if you use the optional piggyback command or not, it actually deals more damage than a Cannonballer.

I'm replaying PiT and I didn't realised how stupidly broken the Ice Flower was. I took down Petey Piranha in around a minute and half rounding the levels 16-17 (not sure if at that point of the game being in those levels is being overleved) because he got debuffed to hell and literally spent the rest of the battle unable to move.

I've actually compared the Smash Egg to the Cannonballer and it is far more powerful when you boost the attack with the babies.

I don't know about you but the fire flower is more powerful than the green shell and has the same amount of attack power as the ice flower.

To be fair at least from what I can tell the Fire and Ice Flowers definitely control better than the OG Bowser's Inside Story Fire Flower so I don't really have a problem with them in this game

you're using smash egg a bit wrong. if you use the baby's 1st a couple times the egg gains height and speed making it more powerfull. I might be a bit buyest since I use these a lot but it truely is a decent item

For me the copy flower is too fast so I use the trampoline more.
