Ranking the Bosses of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II from Worst to Best

Looking back, I guess the only reason I enjoyed this one was for the destruction factor. Compared to the first one the bosses are quite easy, especially once you've ranked up, even on Unleashed difficulty in which you only have to play it a bit safe. The challenges held a bit more of a challenge (ironically). The cutscenes were pretty epic and watching the trailer even more so. After playing Jedi Fallen Order; I'd be curious to see what Respawn could do with a Force Unleashed 3.

The carbonite war droid became far more entertaining to me when I realized it’s carbonite spray absolutely had friendly fire and turned stormtroopers into frozen statues in an instant. That being said I guess the fact I could screw around so much with it just shows how easy it is (that and also I played the full game several times so idk)

This was the first game I remember playing and feeling very disappointed with, I was 7 when the first game came out and man the amount of joy I felt being the absolute powerhouse of Starkiller and being taken everywhere across the galaxy and taking on stormtroopers, at-sts, rancors and Vader and the Emperor was surreal to me. After almost religiously playing the force unleashed 1 for years, seeing the genuinely amazing trailers for the second game made me truly think this game would replace my all time favorite star wars game. Imagine my surprise when my 9 year old self booted up the game saturday morning and was ready to be playing and replaying the game for a long time, but then even after taking an hour break I ended up beating it before dinner time, it was the first time I was left with feeling of "That's it?", with only 3 locations and only about 3 hours of actual gameplay (a bit more if you include cutscenes) and the arsenal of concept art and cut content present in the game's own gallery section it really felt they had a LOT more they had planned but had to cut out a large chunk to get the game out on time, which is very saddening as from a lot of the concept art they were really gearing up for the game to surpass the first in every way, even planning on a third release later on but sadly that was cancelled due to Disney buying Star Wars and cancelling all games in development. Part of me really hopes maybe in Fallen Order 2 or later on in the Star Wars canon they can reintroduce Starkiller, Dave Filoni even stated they planned on his appearance in Rebels with extremely badass concept art as an inquisitor, but sadly that was eventually scrapped because Starkiller would've been too powerful for the Rebels crew. Maybe one day we'll see Starkiller again as the love of the character still rages on

I wish this game was handled as good as the first one, because a lot of concepts were really cool. Imperial droids that used carbonite as a weapon? That's new, all about that idea and 100% something the Empire would try to do. The stealth troopers? Invisible supersoldiers that, like you said, were made to look like Grievous's mask because of his reputation in the galaxy was a fantastic touch. The story was a great idea, especially after the first one, Starkiller died and we're playing as a clone that Vader's trying to make the perfect servant that the original was supposed to be, but the whole time along you're discovering that you might BE the original who didn't actually die but instead basically brainwashed. That's a great way to handle a sequel set-up after a main character sacrifice in a universe like Star Wars having full-on cloning. Plus the whole battle above Kamino and uber-charging the hypercannon to blast a Star Destroyer in half was another instance of "Holy shit, this guy is beyond powerful" like pulling a Star Destroyer out of the sky. But the in between/execution of a lot of those idea in the long run just didn't live up to the scale and memorability of the first one. It's a real shame because you can see what they were going for, and it did feel like it was done well in some places and had some neat twists, like going to Dagobah and get a vision in the cave with the Watcher, and Proxy being back after sacrificing himself in the first one. Overall, solid average, nothing absolutely terrible, nothing absolutely crazy to blow everything out of the water. Good, but could've been better.

I don't think the game is bad, it's just underwhelming. A good tale again of what happens when you 1. Rush a product, and 2. When you try so hard to appease the mainstream fans you forget about the ones that truly love your game.

I wanted to like this game. Hell, I wanted to *love* this game the way I always loved the first. I remember playing TFU2 for the first time when it came out in 2010 and just feeling...disappointment.

Way off topic, but the novelization of this game has a very interesting time explaining the gorog. It's been a few years since I've read it but it still stands out that the point that it could cleave a moon in two with it's hands was driven home big time. Also, the fact that it switched between Juno and Starkillers POVs kept things interesting

You don't have to play the entire game again. You can literally just play the last mission again. Something that's cool when using the Kenobi skin because it feels like an alternate universe or something. Plus I disagree, the cloning section is awesome. I loved mind tricking only some of the enemies so they'd be just a ton of lightsaber and force users all fighting each other while you're fighting Vader.

TFUII wasn't much in terms of story or level design, but what I absolutely adored about it is how much of an overdog it made you feel. Everything and everyone around you is so deliciously destructible, and you can be so absolutely wanton about it with no regard to splash or collateral. Sure, Force Lightning is playing it safe and simple, but using other Force powers, combining them with each other, and realizing how many ways you had to destroy something reminded me of Warrior Within's Free-Form fighting style. It may not have justified the name of its predecessor, but it certainly justified the title.

The gameplay in this game is so great and Fun for me, it even makes the first one kind of worst in comparison Then the game ends

I do believe the Wii version holds up a bit better, with the motion sensor in the controller adding a fair bit more gameplay. I still have the game on my shelf, and it's never moving.

This was my first real disappointment in the star wars franchise. The Force Unleashed was one of my favorite games ever at this point in time, and the sequel ended up souring both games for me in the end.

I remember playing the Wii version (which was apparently way better, 'cause I do not remember any of the major bad experiences that people are talking about with this game) and I hated the incinerators.

Force unleashed 2 was great. The first is definitely my favourite because it's got more to it. But 2 is great in its own sense and also has DISMEMBERMENT! something that no other star wars game onwards will ever have again thanks to Disney's whiney bs of "star wars is JUST for kids. Boo hoo cutting people bad so lightsabers are just fucking baseball bats now"

I played the Wii version of this game. I thought the visuals and lightsaber combat were far better than the first game, but the force powers were neutered to the point were I almost always used my lightsaber. Everything else about the game was worse than the first one. Only six levels, three real bosses (Gorog, Terror Droid, and Vader), none of whom were that good, and a lackluster short story.

You could kill al those mini bosses with just one hit of a fully charged light saber throw. 2 ez

as much as i would love to love this game. after enjoying the second level and then enjoying the literal cutscene level i knew the game wasnt going to be that great. the game had barely anything to offer apart from 2 proper boss fights and the end game one was meh at best.

I actually think the Vader boss fight is the best of the game. Every other boss aside from the Gorog was uneventful and forgettable. Vader’s fight literally has you taking it outside and electrocuting his ass.

I think the reason why the game was so short is because it was preparing for a third installment but got canceled

My first experience with this game was with the DS port (that I somehow actually beat once), so the actual game was an actually good experience for me. For context: the DS port didn't have a block button, it had a block meter that you regenerated by killing enemies (basically a second health bar), and the Darth Vader sequence gave you a grand total of like 5 clones (that were all suped up to account for the lower numbers) in 3 waves to farm health off, so your "health packs" hurt almost as much if not more than they healed. I'm also pretty sure your force meter also didn't regen on its own, so... It was awful

I only play this game after I do a playthrough of the first and even then it's more of an extension to the dlc for me, I do a dark side ending in 1 and then beat Vader again in the end boss fight and finish the dlc, the rest of the game is fun but way too short, practically a force unleashed 1.75, adds some with the clone angle and dlc based on the bad ending but wasted potential during a time lucasfilm was changing hands, wished it had come out 2 years earlier and given more time and effort!!!

i love how there were like 13 bosses in the Force Unleashed, and in the Force Unleashed 2 there's like 5 (i count bosses as enemies with healthbars in the top right, so thats Gorog, Terror Walker, Vader, Han + Chewie and Leia) I havent played the Alternate Episode 6 DLC so here's my ranking of (technically) my top 3 : 1. Darth Vader 2. Terror Walker 3. Gorog I don't hate FU 2, i think it's okay, and it really makes me want a FU 3 more than anything from the weird legends timeline (while there's other things i liked of course) for me FU 2 did 2 things better than the original : 1. Mind Trick 2. Ability to cut off hands and heads (i don't dislike games that don't have cutting off stuff, but i think it's good for immersion)

Just want to put it out there. Inquisitors did exist before Disney Canon. In fact, perhaps the most well known Legends game character, Kyle Katarn, fights a former Inquisitor. Jerec, who was the end boss of Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight, was said Inquisitor. But just like in Disney Canon, the Inquisitors were rarely able to take on full fledged Jedi Masters and Knights because they were kept at fairly low levels of dark side training as to not pose a threat to Vader or Palpatine. However considering Kota's track record, he was probably just blackout drunk at a bar in Cato Nemoidia when some stormtroopers pick him up and then the governor threw him in the arena as execution.

I only played this one- I actually liked it, though that may be because I don’t have experience with the first one. I should probably play the first one and then replay this to give it a fresh look- it’s been years.

I'm up to #5 and I don't think there has been a humanoid boss yet. That's.... very disappointing.

I wish they had saved the fight with the War Droid until the casino with all the frozen corpses. Creepy atmosphere, looked awesome.

I got this for Christmas I think the year it came out (played it on ps3 as opposed to psp) I was really excited but even back then I knew it was nothing compared to the og idk what happened

For the final part of the Vader fight, you don’t even need to press the Y button. I tried it once, just to see what would happen, and it still played out the same, but less flashy, so it looks better if you actually do it.

I know this game has its flaws. Short game. Extremely repetitive. That being said I like this game. The story got me through a tough time in my life.

I was so hyped, I enjoyed the gameplay and graphics, I was having fun, Then it ended. Why ?!

The part that bums me about TFU2 was how limited it was at expanding the universe. No cool new worlds to run around in, no new cool enemies, no Jedi battles outside of the Gorog and Vader, nothing. All we get is just the Empire 24/7 and areas like Kamino, Cato Namota, the spaceship and that's it (I really don't count Dagobah) and don't get me started on the story of this game how it's just hunting for Juno and that's it where as in the first one you actively were apart of the Rebel Alliance forming and seeing the overall universe after Order 66. Such wasted potential

I do like this game but I like FU more It's funny because I played FU2 before FU and thought to myself Damn, this game is sick! And I didn't think the first game could be better BUT it was SO MUCH better I really like this one too don't get me wrong but the first game is just so much better

I loved this game. My biggest problem is that it feels like a dlc. You can beat it in probably 3 - 4 hours if you try hard enough. And some other things I don’t like about it is the bosses are so horrible. My 3rd problem is the story is garbage and the only reason I love it is because of the amazing gameplay. Which I mostly prefer Story > gameplay but in this case it’s not even close.

I quite like the core gameplay of TFU2, as it makes stylish combos easier thanks to the improved juggling physics compared to the first. However, the enemies and level design just weren't nearly as interesting or fun, especially the bosses. It's a disappointment to be sure, but a welcome one.

For the most part, I liked this game, but I definitely believe that the boss fights and length were the weakest parts of the game

Gameplay and story wisest game is amazing, the DLC got cut short because Disney purchased lucasfilm and LucasArts before they could finish it.

Man, I put off my first playthrough of the original Devil May Cry for this game… to this day, I regret that choice. This game sucks.
