I just hate albums with outside songwriters. I mean the first two albums had two people (both members of the actual band) and mainly Nikki write the songs. Outside songwriters are the musical equivalent of Viagra for bands that don’t have it anymore. Case in point: new Scorpions for the first time in decades had the members mostly write the songs with very limited help from outside

My top four albums would be Shout At The Devil, Too Fast For Love, Dr. Feelgood (sorry) 😅, and MC '94. Feelgood was the "in" CD in my prime cruising years. Blared that album non-stop for months, especially Feelgood and Kickstart. Enjoyable video!! 😊 😊😊😊😊

Interesting rankings there. I think the first 5 albums have to be the top 5, no album after that to me is up to the same standard. 5.girls girls girls, 4. Dr feelgood, 3. Theatre of pain, 2. Too fast for love, 1. Shout at the devil. 2-5 are not a lot of difference. 1. Shout at the devil is a long way ahead of the others.

The only thing worse than Dr Feeljizz is Jizzeration Swine and I gave up on them after that. I dumped the first album long ago and as far as I'm concerned, Shout and 94 are the only ones worth listening to as they are both masterpieces. Theater and Goils have about 3 songs each and I agree that Home Sweet Home and Wild Side are most likely their best songs, but I'm with Dr. Fukk(good) as Red Hot is gold and I am one of those that prefer the Crue's Helter Skelter and that is post lobotomy. Marry me Layla!

Also have to say, I love your channel brother. Watch you all the time. I respect your opinion on music, and usually agree with your taste and perspective. However, our opinions of the Mötley albums couldn’t be farther apart. Saints of Los Angeles is a killer album. It deserves another listen sir. No anthems, but I like each song equally. It crushes Gen Swine, Tattoo, and especially Theatre. That album is filler from open till close with the exception of the masterpiece Home Sweet Home. On a positive, couldn’t agree with you more about Mötley Crüe’94 with Crabs

Ralph, Glitter is a beautiful tune, not necessarily, the song, but the image it conjures up of being a kid in the middle of nowhere, seeing early English glam bands on late night TV. Which, to me, is every bit important, as the first woman I loved

I met John Corabi late 90 or 2000 ... with Bruce Kulick for an interview, the Mötley Album kicks ass, it was censored here in Germany because of NAZI signs, John signed it ;)

I only ever owned Too Fast for Love and Shout but have heard several of the others. Shout is also my #1 and Too Fast is slightly under it and then there was a cliff they dropped off musically. A few gems here and there but as albums as a whole... pretty bad in my opinion. The Corabi album I've never listened to but after your glowing review I might have to.

Some decent songs here and there, but the only albums I like from Crüe are the first two and Dr. Feelgood (which is not an amazing album because it has 3-4 songs that are either forgettable, boring, or both, but the rest is decent).

I'm 54 so I was in high school when Crue blew up. They became my top band the first time I heard Shout at the Devil and I saw them on their Theater of Pain tour in Dallas. I'm sorry but I don't like anything after Theater of Pain. Nothing. But it seems like it's that way for all the bands. '81-'86 is the best era for this music. In the late 80-'s they all started getting too commercialized and I started hearing keyboards more and more. Dio, Maiden, almost all of them. Except for AC/DC who have never put out a bad album ever.

You're right, Feelgood is such overrated garbage, except the title track and Kickstart. The rest is such blatant filler. The fact that some consider it their best is baffling. I did like a couple SOLA songs, but it's clearly not Motley. MFer of the Year and Animal in Me are cool. Over the years the filler on Theatre has grown on me, as has a couple of the tunes on GGG. New Tattoo is filled with a whole bunch of C+/B songs, consistently ok. Shout and the Corabi are their best records. TFFL is #3.

I pride myself in being a huge Crue fan I think more so for the live shows. But seeing all the albums out: Shout is the only real good album they have. Shout at the Devil is something special. Vince Neil's aggresive and shouty, pouty vocal's are Amazing and this album's vibe and aura honestly has never been replicated. I have seen a ton of covers on record & live and Nikki & Mick can be replicated, but Tommy's feel and Vince's vocal can never be matched! Grab the low hanging fruit and make fun of an old Vince and Mick looking like a Mummy, but this was like a Film that was made in Hollywood that captured the world and is in The Registry of Cinema. If you don't believe that then you need to grow up and stop saying stupid Sh!t just hopeful of clicks and views. Have Layla contact me because I worked in her field, back in the 2000's.

They only had two good albums , Too Fast For Love and Shout At The Devil. They didn't really deserve to be as big as they were , that position should have gone to RATT at the time. A much better band with real musicians.
