Hey everyone, today I wanted to review and rank some of the most unique addons of DbD. The way I’m classifying these addons is that they are addons that generally nerf you, however as a broader way of identifying them, they unlock a new ability of some kind that your character wouldn’t otherwise have and is not present elsewhere in the game also. I won’t be including meme addons in here, as we already ranked those. Let’s get into it.

As weird as it sounds I love Wesker's lab photo add on where he destroys the pallet instead of vaulting it because it leads to some funny moments where survivors are caught off guard and don't get much distance from you which is really satisfying.

I have high expectations for the Xenomorph when it gets here. I hope it's power utilizes the Facehuggers and Chestbursters to attack survivors and the Mori should be the Xenomorph bashing a hole in their heads with it's second mouth. Just like it did to Parker in the first film! The add-ons will likely be belongings of the Nostromo crew. I'm so excited! 🎉

I have a little concept I just came up with after the announcement. I hope they make him a stompy boy but I also wish he had like a crawling mode that made him more silent. What if alien could crawl, had no TR and moved slightly faster but the Survivors had a heartbeat sensor like Alien isolation that could track him. Maybe like a mid-range (shorter than demo shred) attack you can only use while crawling that has you slow down and its as pinpoint accurate as like a death slinger shot where you stab them with your tail.

Combining Spasmodic Breath with Nurse’s purple addon that makes you undetectable on a blink hit is some of the most fun you can have in this game, at least in my opinion!

I just love how Michael's add-ons fit him perfectly, like the tombstone piece. However, I like using both fragrant tuft and Judith tombstone for what I call the "Pure Evil Myers" build. As for perks, it's Play With Your Food, Enduring, No Way Out, and Discordance.

I would love more token based addons like bff. I would also like the bff addon to be buffed, either to increase the token requirement but activate it when you get to then, so you can have it mid game, or to buff it to 5% and let the speed be used in frenzy.

I really enjoy Anxious Gasp from the nurse, it makes survivors scream when you blink passed them and I found it was really fun just trying to max out the scream event score with really precise blinks (Party Bottle Clown for similar reasons + Kazoo). on Nemesis the Ink Ribbon is fun and very unique but I really like the Shattered Stars Badge, the random sudden burst of speed and erratic zombie movement has given me a surprising amount of value.

Surprised pig didn't get any on here, while they're kinda gimmicky I think since her addon rework she has a few really cool ones. Not being able to see boxes until the trap is activated, especially when starting with traps already installed, or the jigsaw's sketch with either of those. Amanda's secret kind of fits that bill as well. I'm a pig main so probably biased but I like how it shakes up her usual playstyle, although I suppose most of those are addon combinations rather than any single addon (Also hyped for the new SAW movie coming out, I hope she gets a new skin to celebrate it!)

i don't really see how those add-ons shake the playstyle, survivors still need to search for boxes. it's just a lil bit more difficult but at the end most of the boxes are always in similar places

I always felt like this is what iridescents should be Make the super good add ons purple and then have the iridescents be interesting add ons that fundamentally change how the killer is played kinda like Amanda's letter making you play the exact opposite of how a pig normally would by abandoning traps and instead focusing on crouch

god I love the dream pallets, I have always played with them, only time I played Freddy without them is when I ran out of them. I don't care how useless it is after someone remembers an area or just knows you're using it, having solo or non-com squads panic all match around pallets is so fun

Black box is my favorite add on to run on freddy. Its so satisfying when u hook a teabagging survivor who just opend the gate

okay some add-ons I wanna mention for this list: on trickster - both the iri photo (exposed after a certain laceration value) and edge of revival album (giving an AOE to the blades). on doctor - worth mentioning that interview tape also changes the shape of his power, so it could've been together with the ring shaped shock add-on dredge - sacrificial knife, for blocking nearby vaults after teleporting to a locker in nightfall. bit niche but can be very fun and powerful (especially at stuff like shack) plague - black incense, for giving her near-permanently information, and iri seal for giving a sudden burst of power after a gen pops. oni - bloody glove, no explaination needed. but above all...: trapper - literally any purple or iri add-on, except trapper sack. resetting traps, making counterplay more dangerous, adding utility. these are some of the most interestingly designed add-ons, seeing how simplistic both the add-ons and the power itself are. They take trapper's simple and pretty weak power and give it some very interesting niches that adds options and strength.

Hag's add-on Scarred hand is a great add-on for preventing looping cuz even though you can't teleport but you can still place traps on pallets, windows or shack, even entrances so that survivors can't pass and pair it with water logged shoe and you'll have so much fun because if the place you blocked is triggered and survivors can't pass they'll move more slower and you'll move faster once they realise

Rotten Pumpkin for Demogorgon is also an addon that I think deserves to be here. Destroying your own portals sounds awful, but in reality it basically makes your portals an Onryo teleport that doesn't deactivate TVs, which is huge for map pressure, and IMO substantially changes how you play Demogorgon. As for fun, my opinion is that it is extremely fun, no matter what you are doing, if you decide you need to go somewhere else, you just place a portal down and leave, not having to worry about having a wasted portal for the rest of the match.

Lopro Chains for Billy is his more unique addon, but I want to give an honorable mention to his Heavy Clutch addon. It decreases your collision zone, aka hit box, while sprinting with your chainsaw, and is the only addon of it's kind to affect a hit box.

Favorite mentioned add-on: Spasmodic Breath Reason: I prefer the speed nurse/walking nurse style of gameplay over the normal way of playing nurse Add-on I think should have been mentioned: Legion's Never-Sleep Pills Ranking: Pretty Fun Reason: It Makes you slower but adds 10 seconds to your Feral Frenzy making you have more time to think and pull of more plays and great paired with many of their add-ons like The Fuming Mixtape or BFFs

As a Nemesis player, Depleted Ink Ribbon isn't an addon you should be using for the exit gatw respawns, use it for the speed buff and respawn reduction. Something I'd say is more fit for its spot is the Shattered STARS Badge, that one's effect comes into play more often than the zombie exit gate spawn, and it actually WORKS. Zombies inside exit gates wont bother to move 90% of the time until the survivor has long passed it

There is this one Blight addon that gives you a difficult skillcheck, if he is rushing nearby. I was chilling in a corner and repairing a generator with a teammate when we suddenly got skillchecks...and we didn't pay any attention and we both failed And then he downed me, and literally it turned the match around, since he had hooked survivor and high progressed gen nearby But at least 1 person managed to escape, so it was not *that* embarrassing

i played against a clown using the vhs actually 2 days ago. And i fully ran into the yellow cloud because i thought it would give me a speed boost. Turns out it was the poisonous one and he got a down, otherwise paired with lithe i wouldve gotten away. Im sure the player had a blast making some value out of it XD

There’s something you missed that makes the tombstone even worse. Michaels hand will be open in tier 3 when using the add on, instead of it being in a fist. So you can visually see if someone has the add on.

I’m rather shocked to not see the Drivers License add-on for Ghost Face, as you can get good value off the add-on to block gens for 15 seconds and cause a generator to lose 20% progress instantly. It brings great value for when you can get in close to survivors without being seen.

For the doctor one, run it with the add on that makes the shock just one long ass line. The circle can cover a wider area while the line goes straight through the middle of it and gets distance. Probably the only way these addons can be viable.

I completely disagree with the lopro add on, if you are a solid billy you can use it to some extreme potential and do a lot of crazy plays with it. You can pull off a blight bounce with it as an example

I quite like the Caffeine Pills on the Legion. Trading speed for duration makes their power arguably worse since it's meant to stab as many survivors across the map as possible, but when you combine it with other add ons it can become a fun utility power once the survivors stop healing each other.
