You guys are way too negative about the team. They havent even been rebuilding for a year shit takes time and they arent even that much worse than a team like Indiana who had a lucky ECF run. I would rather the direction the raptors are going in now than watch them continue to try and run back a mediocre core that had a 2nd round ceiling at best.

Pensare's latest video brought me here. I get that they not tryna be delusional, but some of this effort to be straight down the middle takes away from the actual Fan Experience. I don't even think BELIEVING Scottie is as delusional as some of the orher shit i heard other reporters say about thier teams. Didn't like the discourse around trading Scottie for KD/Dame. Proven right, shoutout Pensare. In general, i enjoy the podcast for the most part. Will in particular had a history of Genuity that made most regular fans like myself identify to his work at the beginning.
For what it's worth I personally don't believe some of the accusations made in his video is applicable to these guys. Wide Spectrum between Coverage from the Doug Smith to these guys.
I get the idea if you're too high on your own team. You might lose credibility in the reporter world. But seriously, "blake Murphy," you have to have some positivity when you're talking directly to Raptors fans.

For context I’ve been following Will’s work since RR back in the day and been watching the raps since day one, suffered through A LOT of awful years. The people calling this pod “negative” probably haven’t suffered through hoffa, bargs, hedo, mike james as leading scorer, the initial post-vince years, etc etc. Shit was NASTY.
I’m sorry to be blunt but I find Alex frustrating at times. He often acts like it’s a chore for him to talk about the team, yet he is co-hosting a raptors podcast lol. Also feel like his negativity and indifference has really influenced Will’s coverage of the raptors lately. It’s okay to be critical of the team, that’s the fan experience, but this feels different. For example, if I’m tuning into a raptors centric show, I don’t want to hear the host constantly apologizing to guests he has on for asking questions about the raptors... Will’s passion for this team is what made his podcasts so enjoyable and special to listen to. Sad to see.

@milom1696 Seems like Will was attached to Fred, Pascal and Dennis more so than the team. I think Fred turned Will off Scottie for some reason and Will keeps up the anti Scottie negativity. If he doesn't change the vibe of the show to more positivity he will lose in the end. Complaining and giggling only goes so far.
Have to defend Alex here, his sarcastic humor is the reason I like this show. He is still relatively positive about the Raptors given we're coming off a 25 win season and I'm sure it will become more positive throughout the year.
Not going to lie I feel like Alex and Will are a little too negative about the team and the players, like I get it’s a raptors podcast and they were one of the 8 worst teams last year but it’s a team you’re making content about and both of them have admitted to watching the team since they were young I don’t get it I just wish they were more engaged and more glass half full/optimistic about the team
They are being honest with their feelings, based on inherent biases. Neither have actual scouting acumen so they rely on experts like Sam Vecenie and David Thorpe. They heard Scottie is a zero level shooter and that is their anchored bias. Deny he can play as a guard even though basketball is pretty much position-less on offense right now. Need some young energetic and informed talent in the raptors podcast-sphere to replace these dinosaurs with their poor takes.
These two were entertaining when they were young and reckless with their honest takes. Listened to Will's post game breakdowns even though he doesn't have a good eye for basketball or understanding of the game, he was invested in the team and made an effort. Now his takes are old and tired, and he doesn't put in the work to talk about the team like he does. Once a new podcast team that is informed and energetic comes up, these guys will be irrelevant.
Saying they value young teams who can win over empty numbers..but putting the spurs at 2 is wild. Even paolo added more impact to his team than wemby. How about we rank the best young cores as more than one player and off winning more than hypothetical potential. That makes thunder and magic at 1&2. And go from there.
Its not that he doesnt see the vision, we just need more time to see what Scottie and the core are capable of. Success is not gauranteed, and if you think otherwise you should be a wealthy man.

I didn't watch this and I know how Will Lou and most of the mainstream media feels about Scottie. They've never been supportive of him or really believed in him that much but were blind followers for much lessers talents who were much worse players at the same age in Pascal/Fred. I don't respect this guy much honestly. These people wanted Suggs and then continue to move the goal post for Scottie as they are proven wrong more than once. It's almost like they want him to fail so they can say I told you so. All that matters is we the fans believe in him and show support. Go Raptors!

Don't get the negative comments here, they were not negative about the core. They fully said wins was a huge factor in these rankings and that they need to see the Raptors core win more before putting them higher. Spurs being ranked top tier does 100% contradict the "need to see them win" criteria. The only defence is that they started winning games late in the season and Wemby is just that good.
I love Scottie, but will Lou is a casual. So ofc he’ll underrate Scottie, but I don’t blame him. He needs to be great for the whole season and not for a period of time. I’m feeling like Scottie will prove to the casuals what he’s capable of this season tho 🔥
I want to see an entire season with the cookout, BUT 1000% needs to be with Poeltl. He's the glue that keeps these guys all in motion and aligned together with his screens and passing. The raptors had an 11.5 net rating when all 4 played, which is below the Celtics 11.7. I know we fell for this end of the 2023 season when we first got Poeltl, but remember, we came back in 2024 with no FVV, so it is not quite the same.

Minnesota, coming off of an appearance in the WCF, is somewhere in Tier 1 with Anthony Edwards (All NBA 2nd Team), Jaden McDaniels (All Defense 2nd Team) and Naz Reid (6th Man Of Year). The Toronto Raptors would be near the bottom end of Tier 3 / borderline Tier 4. I really like the Raptors 2024 draft class to add to BBQ and GD.

I feel like we down play that part of Scottie's gm. His decision making as well for a 3rd yr player is better than many so called superstars & stars in this league.

Wemby has 1 huge advantage in that he is very tall with a huge wingspan which can be a blessing & a curse b/c like KD he will have difficulty playmaking & prone to the ball getting strip from him. His footwork his great but he still lacks spatial awareness on the perimeter. His release needs to be better & also his touch from 8 - 16 ft.
