Disrespectful asf to Chris Bosh to exclude him. It was 4 not 3 !

Kenyon Martin was the perfect pick for a class without stars. Defensive monster. Single handedly ruined Antoune Walker's career in 2002 and 2003 playoffs.

For sure! The Nets made the absolute most of him. And again having him with Jason Kid only made him better 🫡

Antoine* also he won a chip in 06 as a top 3 scorer on the heat....I think it humbled him to realize he wasn't a main scorer on a title team

Gil didn’t get canned by GS. They simply didn’t have cap space to resign him due to how 2nd round picks counted towards the salary cap back then.

Chris Bosh deserves to be up there with Wade, Melo, and Bron.

The 2001 draft was one of the deeper draft but had no "great" NBA players (as in top 30 all time). Still, it had 2 of the 5 best Europeans to ever play in the NBA in Gasol and Parker and for me it is the immediate thing that comes to mind about the draft, way before Kwame or Gilbert.

Honestly I’m still surprised that Joe Johnson made as many all star teams as he did but never really gets talked about, outside of just being a great three point shooter

For being 7'6 yao was pretty built. Pretty much any player in history over 7'1 was a complete stick but yao had a pretty big frame for a guy that size

He also had t rex arms. One of the few nba players who had a wingspan shorter than their height.

Idk man, 1996 is pretty tough to compare to when it comes to talent all around. So many great players came from it

Kareem was the greatest prospect from high school through college he was dominating at every level unlike almost any player in bball history.
@Notlameloball

LeBron was the most hyped prospect, Kareem was the best prospect. He came out of HS winning state titles then to college winning 3 NCAA titles. The greatest campaign of all time for one of the greatest players of all time.

In my SLIGHT defense 😭. It was actually a league with the best talent in my city. Basically a recruitment league. This is why my parents should’ve recorded more of my games in HS 😂

Tbh the 2003 draft class is overrated. Best top 5 ever but outside the top 5 the talent is very mid (Chris Kaman went 6th and nobody gives the Clippers shit for it 😭) Also the 2004 class is VERY bottom heavy. Dwight Howard the only star to come from it but tons of solid role players came from that class. Shaun Livingston, JR Smith, Luol Deng, Trevor Ariza, Iguodala, etc.
@paulgroeger33

Deng had two decent seasons in Miami and if nothing else convinced lakers to throw bag at him

So solid in Chicago that Kobe would only go to Chicago if it meant playing with Deng.

A bit surprised you did not also mention Serge Ibaka, Nicolas Batum and George Hill for the 2008 draft (around 30:00). Batum especially is obviously not the most talented draftee of that year but he's the player with the 3rd most games played and he averages 30 minutes a game over his career with stats of 11/5/3 and great defense, a lot of versatility. His contract in Charlotte made people think he was underachieving but he's been a great glue guy for his entire career, from his days in Portland to still now for the Clippers and I think he can still be for 2 or 3 more years. It's funny by the way, when they all retire there might be at least 6 players from this draft who would have played more than 1000 games in the NBA (Westbrook, Jordan, Batum, the two Lopez, Dragic) and Augustin is at 976 so if he finds another contract he will too. Maybe Ibaka (919 games), Hill (915 games) and Love (874 games) also have a shot at it but I'm doubtful. It's a testimony to a good crop, none of them were stars outside of Westbrook but they all lasted thanks to the role they found and their attitude on and off the court.

maybe you should rank the teams if you say YOU RANK the teams ^^ just an idea^^ giving it a grade at the end is not a ranking
