@@Unclaimeddemigod I love spoilers cause..... I can't read/watch anything without spoilers or I will have breakdowns everytime something sad happens..... 😔
Spoiler alert I guess! As if this video wasn’t torture enough, I’m here to make things worse “I can see the stars my lady” “Bob says hello” “You stupid Aphrodite girl” “See. Charley” “Family Luke, you promised “ “Promise me one thing. Whatever happens, when you get back on Olympus, when you’re a god again, remember, remember what it’s like to be human” “From now on, I’ll be more than Lester. I will be Apollo, I will remember” Now, who wants to join me in crying in the corner. Great video by the way, even if it was sad
@@Unclaimeddemigod you’re very welcome I guess. You kinda get influenced by Rick’s heartlessness after reading the books a million times. Also, forgot to mention this in my original comment, but I’m really looking forward to the lightning thief musical video. Other than reviews, I haven’t found videos solely talking about the musical, so this would be very exciting
I started crying the moment you said "Bob the Titan". I thought I'd survive this, but THIS one is too much. I was spoiled about Jason's death, but I still felt... terrible after reading it. The scene HURT. I actually liked Jason in HoO too.
Man, Jason was one of my favorites characters, his death just broke me a lot, I almost stopped reading TOA. When Leo asked "where is jason", I just started to cry like a little kid.
Wait, am I the only one hwo remembers the fact that Nico felt biancas death? Which means he had to live with that feeling til' percy came back and said to him that she really is dead and killed every peace of hope he had.... That just so sad!
The important thing to remember about Bianca is that she realized her mistake, took full responsibility, and sacrificed herself so that the others could save the world. She wanted to see Nico again, but she knew that she would either be killed by Talos with her friends or die saving them from him, and she chose to save her friends.
To be honest, while reading 'The Titan's curse' for the first time,I was sure Bianca didn't really die, because it was "off screen" and when it turned out she actually did, I was very surprised. And sad. I'm sure they won't whitewash Beckendorf. I mean, why would they? Glad someone finally remembered Esperanza and Michael. Micheal is so underrated.
My opinion: Luke, Ethan, and Silena were all heroes and Bianca leaving Nico is understandable, she wanted a chance to be her own person for a change. Also, Silena's last name is Beauregard and in my experience trust me, Luke is wayyyyyyyyyy more controversial than Silena.
I always loved Percy Jackson as a kid and then never read the hero’s of Olympus or any other of the series till I was older and fell back in love with mythology and always thought I was a bit childish for it, I’m so glad I’m not the only grown person who loves Rick riordans work!!
I wasn't a huge fan of Jason in HOO. But when I started to see him again in the TOA I was so happy and when he died I was so devastated. It's when something or someone dies that you understand he or it was important
yes I was really sad too. I was hoping get would go to Olympus with Apollo or return to the grave but he didn't ;-; . he is underrated (at least I think it's a he)
To me I thought the top two saddest deaths are Luke as saddest death then Jason as the next one each scarred me emotionally on a deeper level than any other death I’ve ever read in a book.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER As soon as I reached number 4 I shed some tears ngl :( my phone lockscreen are stars and under them is „Bob says Hello“ written. Great video idea! Very interesting and sad to watch
Micheal Yew told Percy to cut the tether holding the bridge I was very upset that he died. I also loved his sass during the counselor meeting it was gold
Technically Selena is and was a hero.....if you think about it, the only reason Selena accepted the role of saboteur from Luke, was to save Beckendorf......if Percy or annabeth or any other character was in that situation they would definitely agree, especially Percy because of his fatal flaw........and being the daughter of Aphrodite, she would do anything for love.....it’s just that the scenario or situation she was thrown into, was extremely desperate and manipulative, and emotionally straining 🙂😞............
Nope. She was initially manipulated by luke due to her crush on him ..when she wanted to back off, then luke threatened to escape her and to harm beck. We also can't forget that beck died because of her amd that's y she committed suicide
@@adarshraj2978 i think you’ll find my point in your answer. She was MANIPULATED by luke either ways, we don’t know what exactly he asked her to do at the beginning, but the fact that she tried to back out showed that she had a conscience. Then she was THREATENED by luke. Even though she willingly participated at the beginning, she eventually realised her mistake and tried to fix it. A hero isn’t someone who doesn’t make mistakes, its those who try desperately and sacrifices everything to correct them. In this case Selena payed with her life. Its a difference of opinion; you have yours i have mine, thats all.
I hated Jason and definitely didn’t appreciate him at all when he was alive, but after his death, I began to love and respect him. So, thank you, Rick, for making me realize all of that, even if it had to be through his death. I’m not ok. JASON DESERVED BETTER 😭😭
Spoiler Warning .. I don't really like Jason, in HOO he wasn't all the developed, we were told he was this big hero and then he spends half the battles sitting on his bum waiting for Piper to save him, but his death was so meaningful in TOA because he taught Apollo about human life and OMG Pipers reaction broke me
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT HE ALWAYS TRIES HIS BEST PIPER NEVER SAVED HIM MAUBE ONCE BUT ARE YOU MAD YES HE GETS KNOKED OUT ALOT BUT , HIS CHARACTER IS DEVELOPED AT LEAST AS DEVELOPED AS PIPERS ! AND HIS ACTIONS IN TRIALS OF APOLLO ARE HEROIC HE DEFINES HEROIC BECASE HE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A GREAT HERO WHO NEVER WANTS TO SIT DOWN AND DO NOTHING SO DONT MAKE IT SEEM LIKE HE DID NOTHING , OKAY
in my opinion, Silena died a hero. It can be justified as to why she helped Kronos, since she was being manipulated, but i still think it is a little too black and white and simplistic to straight up say she was a hero the way Clarisse said it. I think Clarisses bias towards Silena because of their friendship was kind of affecting her response, because I think whether Silena was a hero is too complex to give a yes or no answer.
Honestly for some reason some of the deaths that hit me the hardest were the side characters...like never getting to hear about Dakota drinking his Kool aid ever again made me so sad.
it is easy to feel bad about the deaths of smaller characters, bc they've only been portrayed in funny or good light, like Dakota, so there is no reason for us to dislike him which makes his death suck. It just feels so unnecessary, where as when bigger characters die, it is usually important to the plot.
SPOILER DONT READ MORE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SPOILED The Prophecy said that Bianca would be lost so technically she didn't have to die but she did unfortunately
I don't like it when a seemingly good super-powerful hero straight up kills a much weaker crapsack no matter how much they "deserve it" That wouldn't be in Percy's character,he didn't kill Smelly Gabe, who made his life sh*t for years. Octaivain accidentally dying is ironic, Nico didn't kill him, if he didn't Gaea might have won.
Silena's death is actually in my top 3 saddest death in the entire series. I literally stopped to book to cry my eyes out. Thinking about it now makes me want to tear up again
I found Jason's death super sad too. He was actually the hero of heroes of olympus who i liked the least but was just sad that he died. Really, I really cried. The saddest part was when Leo turned up at the others' house and found out about the death and he couldn't even tell him how it was supposed to be. :( I was also super sad with Leo because I loved him so much and then relieved because he would still be there. R.I.P Jason and the others. They were all heroes.
I got spoiled for Jason's death and I'm honestly kind of glad, if I hadn't known I would've been in denial for so long, I wouldn't have thought it was real. It would've hit me like a brick (Pun intended).
so... all of the deaths you mentioned that happened in the books broke me. like, i read one book, cried, thought that the next book would be happier, nope, cried some more, ext so, there was a lot of crying... ALSO: if they whitewash Beckendorf, they should at least make Silena black
Whole "The Last Olympian" Book ripped me apart. First chapter... death... I stopped reading.... for an hour because I couldn't handle it but I at the other side couldn't stop! And then I finished it in a day and I was so done. My husband asked my many times if I want to go asleep an read the end tomorrow. "Just one chapter" it was and then there was another thing and another death and I couldn't stop and at the end I cryed for the last chapters so hard.
All of the deaths are sad but for me the saddest deaths are Zoë Nightshade, Luke Castellan, Silena Beauregard, and Bob. Zoë dying alongside her good friend Artemis was so sad. Even though her death was sad, it was also beautiful because she was turned into a constellation. I did see Luke as a traitor but towards the end, he saw the error of his ways and turned on Kronos and was responsible for defeating him. I think he was a hero towards the end. What Annabeth said to him, "Family, Luke. You promised," was so heartbreaking. He was good towards the end. But that's just my opinion.
What about Leo Valdez He technically died and came back It took my aunt a super long time to finish the book as she left it alone for 5 years after reading that he died
Ok this is irrelevant but: Why did camp half blood send Grover to get Thalia. When Luke, Thalia and Annabeth were running around together, Grover was send to get Thalia because she was a daughter of Zeus but Grover decided to also help Luke and Annabeth. But Grover is the same age as Percy and Annabeth, in human years Grover is much older but in satyr years he’s the same age, meaning Grover was 7 in satyr years when he was send to bring Thalia to camp half blood, why did they send a 7 year old satyr to retrieve a demigod of high importance like a child of Zeus, I just thought about this and it just doesn’t make sense, there would be many older and more experienced satyrs who could have been sent to get Thalia but they sent A 7 YEAR OLD, why did they send child. Anyway, that’s just something I thought about.
Spoiler Selena and Luke are heros. Definitely. About Bianca, um......I was sad when she died, and I liked her even though she left Nico alone, but when I realized that she made the childish-funny-innocent-adorable Nico disappear, I was like oh.......ur.......Bianca why !?!?😭😭😭 And Jason~~~I don't hate him, and I don't love him, but hi is really such a great character, and how he trates others is very kind, like how he wants to be friends with our favorite death boy, and he died for saving a girl that breaked up with him, a girl he had just met for maybe a week, and a week guy who was a jerk god before. I'm sorry for the Piper lovers, but she made a new girlfriend from nowhere right after Jason's death is making me angry.
My sad death list... 10. Micheal Yew 9. Luke (never felt too much of a connection but I put him here because he was alright in the end) 8. Pan (it was very depressing for me) 7. Charles Beckendorf 6. Silena Beaurogard 5. Bianca 4. Ethan Nakamura (he may be a bit high but I just felt really bad for the dude) 3. Jason 2. Bob 1. Zoë Nightshade (she literally knew her fate the whole journey) there are probably a couple more deaths that I thought were sad that I can't think of at the moment :')
I was going to say if you didn't say Jason's death was the saddest I would of had to fight you. I didn't know Jason was going to get killed off like that. When I reread "The Trials of Apollo The Burning Maze" I started tearing up again when he got killed. Then in the 4th one when he was delivered to Camp Jupiter and they did his funeral
The musical has so many references my personal favorite being from grover says about Percy and Annabeth "they'll kill each other or they will kiss if we're lucky they'll end up in an abyss"- in the same boat
The saddest deaths in no order for me are: Charles Beckendorf (TLO), Randolph Chase (HOT), Zoe Nightshade (TTC), Jason Grace (TBM), Luke Castellan (TLO), Crest (TBM), Bianca di Angelo (TTC), Bob (not actually dead but yeah), Gunilla (SOS), and Ethan Nakamura (TLO)
I'd read The Burning Maze when it first came out and when I came up to Jason's death I slammed the book shut and went into my room (because I was in the living room enjoying a snack and I'm not allowed to eat in my room) and started sobbing. I came out puffy and my mom looked at the shut book and she was like "who was it?" I told her Jason died (mind you my mom never read HOO) and she looked confused for a minute and then nodded. I wasn't a fan of him in HOO but I did like his relationship with Nico (god dammit TSATS hurts thinking about how Nico felt) and I wish he and Piper got a real chance But fucking gods Rick you did not have to go that hard
Silena literally took the Ares cabin to war that alone is a redemption act in itself. Luke died a traitor who realized he f***ed up, so he was both since he did realize what he did wasn't right. Zoe needed more book time she was awesome and deserves the higher placing since Bianca wasn't given much of a back story, we saw Zoe's hatred for Riptide and the fact that she faced her family who exiled her was beyond heartbreaking. And Beckendorf was an amazing character and all made me cry
Percy: (nervous) It started out as a minor scramble with a few monsters, but next thing I know, I'm tangled with half the Titan Army. Annabeth: (panics)
I'm a little unsure about including Bob First, he is immortal, so he can't die Second, it was never confirmed he did Third, it seems Nico was hearing his voice calling out for him from Tartarus in ToN
If the Disney+ show didn't kill Charles Bekendorf...I mean I love the guy but......this fandom practically started a riot because Annabeth wasn't blonde....
Luke and Silena are the two deaths that have always had me conflicted. Silenas death hit me really hard, mostly because of Clarisses and the other campers reactions. But another part of me felt like her death was kind of necessary to the story. She was a traitor, and even if her motives can be justified by how you look at it, if she lived, the campers would forever hold a grudge against her for being partially responsible for a lot of deaths. Silena herself would also have to live with the guilt of being responsible for her boyfriends death, and I think there is something bittersweet in the idea that she is now in esylum (or whoever you spell it) with Charles. She might not have fully lived a heros life, but she 100% died a heros death, and that's what i think makes her death so tragic. Lukes death though, I cried at, and I don't fully understand why. I never liked Luke, I have never been able to see him through the hero lens that many other people could. But knowing that a part of him felt remorse and regret for what he did has me conflicted. He chose the right thing in the end, and although I personally believe he deserves the fields of asphodel, he fulfilled the prophecy and died the way he was destined to. Lukes backstory also added a lot to what could have been a fairly basic death scene. His history with Annabeth and what happened to his mom just made it so much worse then it needed to be. Luke was still young when all of this happened, and although he wasn't a hero and he clearly was not a good person, he never wanted Kronos to take full control. He wanted revenge for his parents wrongs, but he picked the wrong outlet for that anger. So idk, those two have always struck a cord with me.
Me who just read the chapter when jason dies in toa yesterday............and yes I was spoiled abt his death which made me rly mad but yeah his death was super sad but I feel like bob's death in my opinion was sadder These heroes deserve more!
I haven't read any of these books for a few years and I don't remember who most of these characters are. Some of them are names I remember and a couple are ones that I remember very clearly.
I didn’t know how much I like Jason until I heard of his terrible fate He didn’t do ONE wrong thing (Luke betrayed the gods, Silena was the spy, Bianca stole sth…) and yet he had to BREAK UP with his girlfriend, DIE and then not having all his friends at his funeral Not mentioning being “abducted” (or given up) at 2 years old, having no mental backup (how did he even survive? No one actually cared for him except Reyna, he had to carry duties from a young age…). His whole short life was nothing but devastating, with only a few months of happiness with Piper, and then Piper got into some “identity crisis” and got herself a girlfriend Yeah, probably a typical life of a son of Zeus (minus Perseus?)
Man. I'm not planning on reading trials of apollo so i'll never know wether jason ever unlocked a personality before his very premature death. I thought he had so much potential in HoO but rick never stopped writing him as if he was stil amnesiac. His POVs are blank and every time a jason chapter appeared it felt like rick just wanted a break from writing unique personalities into the narration. His backstory with his mom was jarringly sprayed on my face at the opening of blood of olympus and then brushed off like it had never been brought up. That was dirty. He should've been grappling with it since mark of athena at least. He could've been so cool and was criminally underdeveloped/used. There was so much more to his character that could've been made into several stories.
I feel that Bianca's death was sadder than Zoe's. It's more tragic because like you said, she brought it upon herself, and DECIDED to make up for it by killing herself.
I pretty much agree with you but my top 10 deaths are: 1. Luke Castellan - I cried so much during the scene of his death, I wanted him to live so bad. 2. Selena Beauregard - I hate so much the Battle of Manhattan, I swear. 3. Jason Grace ‐ his death wasn't really the saddest to me, but Piper's reaction after absolutely killed me. 4. Bob - do I even need to explain? 5. Charles Beckendorf ‐ I really liked his character, was it really THAT necessary to kill him? 6. Zoë Nightshade - she wasn't one of my fav characters but her death was really impactful to me 7. Ethan Nakamura ‐ I never disliked him, he was actually one of my fav side character of pjo 8. Bianca Di Angelo ‐ same as with Jason, her death wasn't the saddest but Nico's reaction was 9. Castor - idk if y'all remember him, but he was the son of Dionysus and died in the Battle of the Labyrinth, his death was actually quite sad to me 10. Frank's gradma - I'm not sure she actually died, but the whole "goodbye" moment was pretty sad
(this is for the bianca one) i mean i get her wanting to have her own life and stuff, like i have siblings and stuff but like, she was the only one that knew Nico’s secret, and considering she and Nico didn’t know that it wasn’t the 1940s anymore it was basically like her saying “ok so, ik you could literally get tortured, harassed, persecuted or even f*cking murdered for this and its not something that you can exactly hide forever since it’s a part of you, but i do need to have a life and yk this guy looks kinda nice, you’ll be fine!” like girl- tf?
imagine being jason selfless for your whole life 15yrs putting the others needs and the camps needs before himself working hard and preventing the position of leadership and power in any form due to his determination to restore honour back to a disgraced cohort imagine putting a brave face and leading the people though he was scared shitless and barely knew anything about himself or the leadership position he was handed but still he managed to be a good leader even though he never desired it or needed it because he was selfless and too good at his heart that he can't let other people die so he decides to shoulder the responsibility and pressure that crushed him for years leads the disgraced cohort to it's victory (which is a big deal because not many talented people will be there) against mount othrys the home palace and territory of the titan base which had a million monsters and hundreds of scythian draceanae ( the most underrated battle which is not even discussed in detail another reason why author is biased towards jason) and personally managed to beat down krios hand to hand combat without Achilles heel ( remember the attack on mount tam is offense so the fifth cohort and some other legionnaires along with jason went there not the entire camp after successfully managing to conquer mount tam and coming back to camp he was raised on the shield to become a praetor reyna wasn't involved in this since praetors are supposed to guard the camp ) and managed to topple the black throne of Kronos which severed the power connection to kronos much like the throne of the gods on olympus which has the power connection to god's that's y Kronos was trying to destroy the throne of gods so coming back to the story after being selfless for his whole life and then finally finding a girlfriend and a best friend who he finally feels at home with and getting a break and an opportunity to find himself and forge a path for himself that made sure he was a part of both camps just like he wanted finally finding a light in his life finally feeling at home with the person he liked the most after deacades of not choosing anything he wanted he finally chose for himself he finally was selfish and chose to put himself and his needs for the first time after being selfless for nearly a decade realising that he could be his own person having his free will only months later to be revealed that the presumed love of his life feels like she doesn't really love him truly after all just imagine the pain and heartbreak swelling in your chest realising that all the free will and all the future he beleived all those moments he spent happily in his life was after all a lie putting on a brave face once again for his girlfriend telling that he understood her decision so that she should not in any way feel sorry or guilty for him because he was selfless went back to honor his promise of building shrines for minor gods for both camps and then finally he was offered a choice a free will to choose between him and piper and without any hesitation or second thoughts he chose piper to live and for him to die and all in all his last moments he was not angry or bitter for the shit he was thrown in his life he never even thought about himself all he thought was his friends safety and the promise he made to kym the daughter of poseidon that even poseidon himself neglected and made sure the future generation of demigods were safe by making apollo to promise to remember what' it is like to be human in his final moments he gave himself to save his friends honour the promise to prevent the gods From fighting amongst each others and made sure his future demigod brethren had a bright and peaceful future ahead of them he was the true prince of all the demigods now that is why he deserved better from everyone even from the own author who wrote the character that's the kind of character jason is and that's why I want to know more about him and that's why he is my favourite character
Sorry for that was really emotional while writing this so I didn't think too much about giving some changes to the comments or to properly punctuate it
HEY ALL THOSE WHO DONT LIKE THESE CHARACTERS!!!! SILENA DIDNT DESERVE TO DIE SHE WAS BRAVE GRAFFUL AMAZING KIND AND HONEST BIANCA DIDNT DESERVE TO DIE BECAUSE SHE WAS A BUG THREE KID AND HAD A BRO NICO!!! Sorry I’m lazy and don’t wanna do the others but yeah I love them alll
I have an idea. Piper goes down to Hades Orpheus style, and asks him to please let Jason come with her. Hades accepts. Then haters can hate again, fans can be happy again, everything is perfect. Unless she looks back. Then Percy gotta fight/beat Hades.
@@Unclaimeddemigod I thought Percy cause he was already down there several times. Also he already had confrontations with Hades... But yeah, Piper going down and fighting Hades would be cool, though i doubt wether Charmspeak works on the dead...
