unpopular opinion: will and magnus arent as sunshiny as the fandom portrays them and the only basis for thinking that they are is bc of their dads and partners

Honestly I kinda agree with some of the reviews. It DID kinda feel like a fanfic. It was way too lovey for me. The plot was almost a background thing. Then again that’s just my opinion as someone who looks at published books for plot and fanfics for romance. To me I felt overwhelmed and the romance didn’t feel special anymore cuz there was too much of it. Definitely wasn’t pushing a gay agenda tho, what 😂 Edit: I also did notice the co writing. I read the description and it wasn’t what I was expecting even then. This all being said, I’m also autistic and really don’t like change, so the fact that it changed from what I was expecting could have tilted my view.
I LOVED that book so much and my friend has read it 17 times. These reviews are making me angry. Homophobic people don't get it. Also this book was so great so I don't get the "Its so poorly written" like what?
one time i was in a bookstore and i saw that the sun and the star was wrapped in plastic with a warning that said ‘unsuitable for children’….next to some of the dirtiest booktok ass smut i’ve ever seen in my life
Hey Celia! It's the persistent False Prince recommender. The reading order is 1. The False Prince, 2. The Runaway King, 3. The Shadow Throne, 4. The Captive Kingdom, 5. The Shattered Castle. I do think the author wrote it to be a trilogy but maybe later on wanted to write more so she made it a 5 book series where Shadow Throne and Shattered Castle's endings go hand in hand. I do understand why you didn't enjoy the books a lot and to be fair I read these first when I was 10 so nostalgia is definitely a factor as to why I love them to this day. Also because the author replied to a digital fan mail I sent her so that unconsciously made me like the books more ig. Also personally I'm fine with teen marriage depending on the factors but Jaron and Imogen should definitely have matured more before marriage. They need couples therapy fr
I didn't even read the books I just somehow got sucked into the persassy edits but once I discovered that Nico and Will are gay for eachother I looked up some fanart and they actually looked so wholesome together idk how could someone hate them
The fact that im 5 minutes into this, and a 12 year old felt uncomfortable with literaly makes me wanna die. Im literaly 12 and this book helped me come out as lesbian. HOW ARE YOU SO IMMATURE TO NOT EVEN FEEL COMFORTABLE OR RESPECT IT, LIKE HAVE SOME BASIC HUMAN DECENCY!(Sorry for kinda lashing out)
I went into this book expecting a classic Rick Riordan book starring my favourite characters nick and will, who I was rooting for with all my heart but I just thought it was written with the fact that the characters are gay in mind…the amount of times the word boyfriend is used is way too much like for example if it was Percy and annabeth they wouldnt use it so often? I felt that. Rick riordan was trying to normalize being part of the lgbtq+ community that it inadvertently made it seem different than a straight relationship. As a result of this I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I was hoping to because I was waiting for a solangelo book for a long time and it felt disappointing to me at least
It's kind of wild to me how having a lot of queer rep in a book is seen as 'pushing' representation, but as far as I can tell, unless explicitly stated otherwise, most people assume that every character in every book is cis/hetero 😅
Umpopular opinion (maybe, I haven't heard that many opinions about it): I didn't love TSATS that much. It felt long winded compared to previous books, which I wasn't really prepared for. I just don't think it did Solangelo justice.
As another member of the Ace community, the way you talked about it felt a little... idk, dismissive and invalidating? Like allo being "the default" and not a label that needs mentioning. "Choosing" a celibate lifestyle meaning someone's not really ace, because abstinence must always imply underlying attraction, ig? And needing to give off ace vibes for your sexuality to actually be believed as valid. Idk, probably not what you meant to say, but that's how it came off to me at least. There's so many "not ace enough" arguments out there that seeing it come from one of our own, feels a little icky.
You can be ace and choose abstinence, what I meant to say is that *choosing* abstinence is NOT a sign of being ace As for the rest, I only talked about it in such a superficial or dismissive way because they’re fictional characters (not to mention historical) so it’s more black and white than in real life aaaaaaand ✨vibes✨ are all I have to go off of (since nothing is stated clearly in the text) Hope this clears things up 💜🤍🩶🖤
It's kind of high school English class-esque but I always have to reccomend flowers for algernon but only read it if you feel like weeping :) Also the dark tide is a really great fantasy book that I feel like is pretty summery?
For the third graphic novel it’s like his sword is celestial silver not bronze it’s blue not the bronze like isle celestial bronze not selestial silver😂
The Sea of Monsters outfit might not match, but it is a cute outfit. Also, The Battle of The Labyrinth outfit reminds me of something Leo Valdez from Heroes of Olympus would wear. All the outfit look nice though
The only part of the book that made me uncomfortable was when Nyx tried to baby trap a 15 year old. Kinda suprised how few of the reviews mention that 😒
