Ariana thanks for the amazing post - loved it... I was fortunate and honoured to have directed every TNS Finale for all 7 seasons! In total I've directed close to 40 Episodes... a TNS Finale is the most challenging (takes a massive amount of scheduling and preparation) and of course the one of the most fun series I've ever directed! Season 1 - Regions (4 Episodes) Season 2 - Nationals (4 Episodes) Season 3 - Internationals (4 Episodes) Season 4 - Regionals (4 Episodes) Season 6 - Regionals (4 Episodes) Season 7 - Dancemania (4 Episodes) Season 1, 2, 3 and I believe 4 all were written as 4 script finale but because we shot so much great footage they were able to add an extra episode for each of the finales... Agree with you regarding Lucien - he is one of my favourite characters to direct... Lucien is played by Allain Lupien who in the real world is Isaac's (Eldon) father and a renowned choreographer - he choreographed a lot of TNS's competition routines at the first 4 finales... Season 1, 4 and 6 were shot at a theatre at York University in Toronto... Season 2 (Nationals) was shot at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga (a city just west of Toronto) and Season 3 (Internationals) was shot at the Sony Centre in downtown Toronto - during the shooting of the Internationals we sold tickets for fans to be in the audience when we shot the dances ($5.00 and covered the cost of security at the theatre) and had 3 seatings of close to 2000 fans - was so awesome to see the fans lined up around the entire theatre I took a picture of all of my final scripts (2 signed by the cast) but couldn't figure out how to post a pic on here.. again thanks for rating the finales and look forward to more of your videos... Cheers Mitch
Ariana - thanks for the ❤️! Forgot to mention that Season 7 Dancemania Finale was shot at the CBC studios in downtown Toronto... let me know if you would like to see the pics of my signed scripts or any other behind the scenes pics I’ve taken over the years
@@mitchellt.nesscsc1777 Hi Mr. Mitchell it is really cool that you address the fans and you directed the finales I have some questions for you so could you give me your gmail so I can contact you.

This is gonna sound super weird, but I actually really liked the fact that Eldon asked Riley what was next because at that point in the finale, the only dancer with some sort of set future plan was James who was going back to his band full time meaning that he's the only one that we knew at the time for sure wouldn't be on a troupe anymore, so it kinda made sense to me that the two people closest to him were all like, 'well, what are WE supposed to do now?'
the subtle hint in the series 1 finale with beth and james/riley is the type of thing more recent seasons have been lacking. like, in S1 E1, emily tries to fix riley's hair clip - foreshadowing when her hairpiece comes off in the dance at regionals. it's stuff like that which is so well done in earlier seasons and it's just been lost in later seasons.
Oh my god! I thought I was the only one who noticed the Riley James and Beth thing in s1 it’s one of my favourite scenes because it’s such a good hint :)))
I feel worst for Jones, who was basically Richelle's best friend this season (R.I.P. Kenzie). Even though he did seem a bit snobby at first, he was the most friendly with Richelle during the competition and seemed to actually care how she was doing. A-Troupe hardly acknowledged Jones's presence as a competitor, and now he's stuck with Maria - and I kind of think he deserves better now.
@@myalalala2913 exactly. She’s had 4 love interests in 4 seasons, and once she moves on, it’s like the other ones don’t exist. It’s just a lot comparatively to everyone else in the show. And they usually come out of no where. If it were in real life okay 4 guys in 4 years isn’t bad, but it’s almost like the writers don’t know who to put with Amy, or how to develop her character. I would really like to see an Amy storyline that doesn’t involve a guy.
@George Antoniou nope the first qualifier was Piper, Noah and Richelle and the second qualifier was James, Alfie and Skylar's solo. So she hasn't won anything with TNS...
AUSTRALIANS! TNS season 7b is now on ABC Me! It has all been dropped at one so you'll be able to binge! I have a playlist called 'season 7 videos' so if there are any reaction videos you've avoided because of spoilers, you'll be able to find them there once you've seen the relevant episodes! 😊
some video ideas: ranking the first group dance of every season ranking the off season episodes ranking tns outfits ranking the group dances after the mid season finale
10:19 Ugh this is like my least favourite plot hole in tns. Like in the very first/first few season/s it was obviously meant to be a _reality_ style drama where the characters would look at the cameras (at times) and the cameras would shake. Even though in seasons 3 and 4 there was less emphasis on it (which was annoying and did through you off), you could still imagine that they knew about the cameras (season 4 literally tells us). But in the seasons after that they forget about it all, ESPECIALLY season 7 when they LITERALLY NEED TO SHOW THEM HOW TO BE ON CAMERA. If season 4 was DEFINITELY filmed why wouldn't Piper, Richelle, Henry and Amy know how to be on camera? AND IF THEY AREN'T BEING FILMED WHAT'S TALKING HEADS? JUST A FIGMENT OF EVERYONE'S IMAGINATION? I don't buy it.
literally they need to decide whether they know or not. You cant have them introducing episodes, rapping to the camera, and addressing cameras in s4, then have Richelle in s7 saying she's never been on TV

The Season 7 finale made the entire season pointless. What was the point of watching A Troupe make the decision for Dancemania and chose to pursue professional careers if they're just gonna make a 180 turn and decide not to in the end? What was the point of Richelle having a flashback solo similar to Noah if she was going to just come back to A Troupe. Oh and the ending, if there was still any ounce of character development left, all of it got thrown into the toilet with the "cliffhanger". By far the worst ending. Season 7 makes season 4 look like a Tarantino film compared to this.
i think alfie and amy had their scene at the end of season 4 because they both just had their hearts broken, alfie understood what amy was going through, so even though amy had her zero percent club, it was still understandable that alfie spoke to her - her friends didn't know anything about love by then 🤷🏻♀️
I think it was weird for piper to just walk past her though 😂 That makes sense but ultimately I could have seen Alfie talk to Henry and Amy talk to zero percent
honestly, I agree with your rankings. however, I would switch the last 2 around and also season 3 and 6 so my ranking would be: 1. season 2 2. season 3 3. season 6 4. season 5 5. season 1 6. season 7 7. season 4
Also in Season 4 Sloane was supposed to be in the final routine but I CAN NOT see her do any section in that dance, yes there was hip hop sections but still not to Sloane's capability
aside from the flying duet, the best moment of the s3 finale was hunter, chloe, emily and b troupe reacting to their win I wish that was in every season finale win
I have never clicked so fast in my life. I have been waiting for this vidoe. I usually agree with your opions. But I completely forgot about season 2 haha
honestly i love all seasons (expect 4 haha) but it feels like s1 s2 and s3 are a show and s4-s7 feels like a completely different show like idk edit: i just watched the rest of the video and you basically said that same thing aha
I agree with this list, but just saying, Alfie comforting Amy makes sense to me. Like, he understands her problem with the two love triangles in the season.
The thing I don't understand about season 7 is why couldn't Summer go to dancemania with them to begin with? When Richelle leaves they debate doing it with less dancers don't they? So if the number of dancers isn't set and anyone can join as long as they dance in the first round- why not just... choreograph the dances for 11 dancers? I mean, it worked for the Alice in Wonderland dance and I think it would have added more variety to the "prom" dance if you had maybe a trio of friends so it wasn't just all couples because that was quite boring really. The only reason I can think of for it is that 10 is the max number, and whilst you can have less you can't have more but then this was never clarified!
I don't know what was worse about Season 7's finale: that they had one of the show's most legendary and original characters leave without saying goodbye or that 11 characters had their character development completely backpedalled. I think that A-Troupe could have pursued their goal of becoming professional dancers instead of going to Nationals and the show would just end with B-Troupe taking their place. We would then know that the studio would be in good hands and would continue as normal under Nick satisfying all who have been avid fans of the show. Qualifications can not excuse lack of rehearsal or commitment. Like if you agree.
Also, I need to say thanks so much for giving us a time to skip to because I haven`t seen the last 2 episodes of TNS because I had training the days they were on tv , so thanks for no spoilers ! x
I feel it makes sense that eldon asked Riley because that eldon was sort of portrayed as the funny and dumb guy and Riley was the super organised person. What do you think???
I feel like season 7 was like a trailer it finishes when you want to know it I feel like it could do with a bit more detail with the storyline but overall i rank it out of 10/7 season 6 will always be the season to beat
Something I have noticed with TNS is that the black girls tend to not have a storyline or its for another character Tiffany- Only thing she did was be an E girl, pick Michelle over Emily but was only addressed once, get kicked off of A troupe, and decides to leave Thalia- Gave up her Duet for Jiley, Eldon's love interest, starts studio to rival TNS Zara- Math vs. dance now this was a storyline but it was super weak and was used to develop summer's storyline plus she ended up leaving Kenzie- Davis, tried out to be DC but was never touched on again, Is Richelles frenemy also never touched on again
So i have heard people say on the big debate on B troupe or A troupe to nationals that B troupe just step in for A troupe and now they can do it....that does not automatically mean A troupe can be so entitled and just think they can do whatever THEY want ugh. Peopl have also said A troupe has a better chance but nationals is "right around the corner" which i think is like a week or maybe or couple of weeks but not enough for a whole dance, rehearse it(especially with how little they rehearse) and polish it when B troupe already have a good dance!!!!
I really felt the intensity of the season 2 finale when I watched it! The tone of when Lucien says "Elite and the next step merge for internationals" was so good. Felt like a worthy finale cliffhanger
I really wished that one judge that’s always negative went up to A-troupe and gave them a new opportunity to be professionals even tho they didn’t win, like he was so stunned by their performance that he didn’t wanna let them go
In s 1 they had to do a fashion show to afford their costumes. Also miss kate was panicking when the money was taken because they didn't have a lot of it.
I don't know how but I honestly thought the season 5 finale was the mid-season finale. I actually had no idea I was watching a new season when I was watching season 6. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree wholeheartedly with the entire ranking, but I’ve always felt like the link between series 2 and series 3 was weak... James says in the car (FANTASTIC scene, I agree) that they’re being evicted to build condos... I don’t know, it’s always seemed to me like they decided AFTER series 2 had aired that it was going to be Lucian who had bought the building, and that he was just being opportunistic at the end of series 2
yeah very true, however i think it would be an after thought FOR lucien, to think 'hey if i BUY the building, there'll be even more chance TNS will merge with us'. I think him being opportunistic actually fit his personality very well!
@@mockingariana3 I can see Amanda coming back buying the next step she might come and say hey can I buy the building or maybe Chloe & west coming back maybe Emily will
I wish they removed the Lucien stuff with the season 3 finale and had a scene where Miss Kate is saying gd luck to A- troupe before they go out on their final performance, basically her spilling her heart out to them and them all embracing each other like we got at in the season 2 finale
I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but this A troupe have just been here to long, I want them to leave and have good future if I’m being honest, there character development has been terrible and I think they should just move on , it just feels like there keeping them on for the sake of keeping them on. I personally prefer season four over season seven and that’s saying something
I share that exact opinion! After season 3, I also wasn't pleased to see all those new characters & like most of the viewers, missed the cast from s1-s3. But all those new characters are todays 'old characters'. Like we grew used to them, learned to like them, so it just goes to show that new characters aren't a bad thing. This current a-troupe has been dragged on for too long. Seeing b-troupe, new characters, was so refreshing & exciting. Now imagine s8 with the SAME characters AGAIN ... unpopular opinion: it ruins the show, along many other things we have seen this last season.
@@SoulDropsChronicle I know! Like imagine season four with the SAME cast, like I know it wasn’t very good but it would been worse if it was all the same people, and there just too old now to play teenagers I want them to have a nice goodby and not drag there character out and maybe have a couple of guest appearances like Giselle
@@lunalovegood8931 s4 wasn't the greatest, but I can appreciate it so much more today & honestly enjoy the dances unlike in s7. That's what I always said! In s7 they all looked too old ( yet behaved childish & spoiled ) to be still on a troupe while the members of b troupe gave me a kind of like s1 vibe, all fresh & new, a feeling that made me want to see them go to nationals & internationals again & THEN have the show come to a clean end.
i personally think that the writers might pull out a plot similar to season 2 for season 8 and have a troupe leave and compete at a separate regionals to go against b troupe, similar to how elite went to another regionals to compete against the next step at nationals. i guess it makes sense bc i think both teams should go to nationals and it would be sort of a fair rivalry. don’t @ me lol i just think both teams should get a shot at nationals
while i really wanted a bigger goodbye for Emily, the one that we got really quaintly mirrors the one from beginning of season 3; and she came back after that so maybe this isn’t the last we’ve seen of her?
