I just feel like Acola shouldn't be #1 when he's entered like 3 events so far compared to basically everyone else's 10+

I remember as a TO I was asked to make a player ranking for my circuit. And so, as an accountant, I did the logical thing. I make a power ranking based SOLELY on the stats of tournament placement. Not results over friendlies, not results of RRs, not results of grudge matches, not results of other peoples tournaments 1, 2, 9 cities over, or states over, or countries. Just our local tournament results in my circuit. Very simple, straight forward, simple, logical. And every competitor and their mom came out to argue why one player was higher than the other because they beat the x in bracket, but never fought them again and that x player then won the tournament boosting their PR but blah blah blah And when I said "Yeah idc about that. I'm not using additional variables for this. Its tournament placement only." The nightmare that ensued, my lord. Needless to say I did not make PRs much longer. TOing smash might have been the worst couple years of my life honestly.

The thing about this is that it could be COMPLETLY different in a matter of weeks

Not diminishing his accomplishment of winning Umebura bc it was huge/stacked, but Sparg0 has entered 7 events, all majors/super majors, and has top 3'd at all of them. Not a spotless record, but he's entering more events and made grands in all but 2. He's consistent, he's grinding, and he's showing up more than acola at the moment. Hoping he can finish the first half strong and finally get the #1 placement he's been at the level to achieve for years.

As a Frenchman I hate to say it but Gluto isn't indeed top 10 atm, and likely won't be until he adapts to his switch of controller, which will probably take some time.
