Shepard druid totem ability is a radius. Its not just you who gets the temp hp, advantage on attacks, and extra healing. Its your whole party (and summoned creatures), just like the paliddin auras.

I definitley didn't give the totem enough credit but even still the bear totem is only equal to a single cast of Aid granted it affects more creatures it still just feels underwhelming to me.

@@ThisCrits 5 + your druid level hp temp, so way more powerful than Aid (Which, btw, Druids don't get access to), not consuming a spell slot and recharging on a short rest. The most powerful totem is by far the unicorn. Read it again.

I have been having a lot of a fun with my Kalashtar Circle of the Stars character, battlefield control and healing are where I fit into the party, although I have dished out more damage than our Barbarian on one or two occasions so far.

Stars is my personal favorite out of them all! Everything from the theme straight to the features are just so good!

Stars is amazing! Kalistar is better for moon druid though. Kalistar's whole thing is that it can communicate telepathically (even in wildshape). I loved my fairy stars druid. Her star map was on her wings and she could turn into a being of light and magic. It was really cool, I'd definitely play her again.

I def agree with most of your final list. I think I’d swap Shepard and Spores based off seeing it in action. Your reaction to the Moon Druids’s Alter Self was the exact same as mine 😂😂😂

I have a spore druid in my party which is always disapointed by his halo so I might be a bit biased lol. As for the moon druid, im like 99% sure thats everyones reaction lol

@@ThisCrits Yeah, infinite free group teleportation is so bad. Totally not worth it. (Not even mentionning area of effect bonus action dmg)

swamp land got that darkness which makes them good range healers with devil's sight, duergar stars grappler for that bonus spell with advantage, moon is ultimate OP furry

Spores: What it is, is multiclass bait for Ranger and Monk. You get your two attacks in those classes, grab polearm master, maybe the level 6 ability, then just dive into spores druid. A Swarmkeeper Ranger 5 with Polearm Master feat, Spores Druid 2, using a quarterstaff and Shillaulegh: 3 attacks per turn, 2 * 1d8+Wis, 1 * 1d4+Wis. Assuming Wis+4 Hunter's Mark: 1d6 per attack Spores: +1d6 per attack Swarmkeeper: +1d6 on One attack. Averages 48 damage per turn at level 7, using up to a one level 1 spell slot per encounter and a wildshape charge. Even if you factor in the typical 65% chance to hit, that's 32.5 damage(up a bit since you can add Swarmkeeper after the hit is confirmed.) You're sipping at your resources and chunking out twice the average damage, and 50% more max damage that a Great Weapon Master GS fighter can do at that level. Even if you give the GWM GS Fighter *advantage* he's still behind the *non-advantage* Spore Ranger Druid by 10%, he'd have to burn Battlemaster and Psi Warrior dice or burn Giant's Might Rune Knight to match it. Shepard Druid is amazing, and so is Guardian Spirit, provided you using summons to abuse action economy. The more summoned things you have, the better its abilities, including Guardian Spirit, get.

The only Druid subclass I ever played was the Blight Druid which is super fun and the anti-nature druid...Spores also looks really fun to play

@@ThisCrits takes a couple rounds to fully set up but blight druid can drop a small area of difficult terrain and if an enemy takes damage while on the terrain, you can spawn a little blight sapling to attack and move, at level 10 the sapling and any summons you have will blow up when they die to do extra damage...combine with spike growth and you are just summoning walking bombs essentially

Ok sorry this video went from "hmm I agree with you mostly" to "WTF are you even talking about?" like you aren't trolling abour shepherd druid right? Sorry if you were being sarcastic but if you weren't here is the good thing about them. At 6th level if you use conjure animals for 8 wolves and then bear totem you will give them extra 8x4(from mighty summoner) + 8x11(from bear totem)=32+88=120HP. Not counting their base 8x11 hp because every druid will have that Your party (assuming 4) also gets 4x11 temp hp, so total 164 HP More if you have NPCs

It also scales exponentially as temp HP increases based on your level and number of conjured animals also become 2x then 3x then 4x at high levels. Like at 20th level in a one shot your 9th level conjure animals wolves will have 32x(11+4+25)=1280 HP and they can heal upto 32x10=320 HP per turn for free

I 100% didn't give the totem enough credit for what it did and looking back on it now I might move it up a tier but I still feel pretty confident about where I placed it. All the subclass really does is make your summons a little bit more tanky which to me is super boring. Sure having 32 wolves with 1280 hp between them all sounds nice in theory, but in reality what does that mean? All 32 of them still only have 41hp and are still a high roll damage fireball away from going bye bye. Is it cool? Sure! But is it practical? I really don't think so. I think summoning creatures is a cool concept, but thats all I think sheperd has. Cool doesn't equal effective and when you start getting higher up in levels and they can't hit anything and they vanish after taking a single attack/aoe spell. No disrespect meant, thats just how I see the subclass 😁
