What a year for boots. a good vapor, great tech from adidas, mizuno embracing new trends (somewhat), puma breaking through to the top… good year for boot nerds.
I’ve been wearing the 6+ Pros for a couple months now and I love them. Only complaint is I wish the heal was slightly lower but other than that they are great. I’ve worn mercurials my whole life and I decided to switch it up and was not disappointed. Great boots
Wonder if there will be cuts in prices to football boots going forward in general - as Josh says (for most people) why buy the others when the Ultra is cheaper and just as good in its own way?! Great vid Josh
Doubt it - even if the ultra is cheaper than a lot of boots and performs just as well as them the truth is that the X's and mercurials or any boot made by the more popular brands will always be the most popular choice amongst consumers and hence there is no reason for them to ever lower their prices.
Because marketing, that's why. Nike and Adidas can afford to charge a higher price than Puma. If this wasn't the case, Puma wouldn't charge less, because they know Nike and Adidas would copy their lower prices. Puma gets the value conscious consumers, Nike and Adidas get the buyer who is persuadable by marketing, and they split the buyers who have very specific tastes and don't care about prices or marketing.
i feel like he never tries to be funny but it turns out funny. like when he said, “in paragraph form.” idk why but i just started dying. keep the good work tho🙂
One thing I noticed about the Puma Ultras is that, in the UK at least, the soleplate is advertised as FG/AG. There’s no dedicated AG option and the soleplate is far far too aggressive for an AG pitch. Almost to the point where you deliberately hold back to prevent injuries. Seems very disingenuous to advertise it that way.
Really wish the Elite tier boots from Mizuno were more common here in the US. Every once in awhile a small stock appears. I did manage to order a pair of Beta 3 Elites a month ago, bought them for 175ish dollars. Talk about value for money. They were only available in the blackout, I wish there were more colorways available. I kinda like to standout. But anyway they are very, very good. Easy to get on with an accommodating fit. Superb heel lockdown and a nice deep lacing system. Two thumbs up from me.
Is it just where I live or is there a shortage of supply for boots cos of covid? I can’t find any boots I want in my size it seems like everything is sold out. Great video
Awesome job on the pure grip sock pro Jose!! Today I justreceived my 3 pairs of pro's in...pink...grey and navy blue. Great quality and very quick delivery from NY to CA. Love my 2 pairs of the OG pure grip socks in black and white. Got them when they first dropped and they're still solid! 👌🏿👌🏿
I was looking at buying AG Superflys from Unisport but then I saw Nike actually prevent them from shipping Nike boots outside Europe. Can the Boot Nerds talk about how ridiculous this policy is? Especially since Nike don’t sell their AG boots in America, even though we have turf fields everywhere.
Bro, same!!! A guy emailed me and said it was a temporary thing, hopefully it is fixed soon because I really a pair of court shoes and some Ag superflys
@@trentonhogsett0311 as far as I know, to get top end Nike boots with an AG soleplate in America you have to get a custom pair of Vapors/Superflys or the Phantom GT from their Nike By You service. So it costs more, and you can’t get it on the Tiempos.
@@Feanaro5503 Yeah, it seems like that is the only way, which means you pay full retail price. You can find Adidas X Speedflow.1 AG at discounted prices though. And for women or men with narrow feet, the Puma Ultra 1.3 women with conical studs are also a great option. Too bad they are not offering conical studs on the 1.4 version.
He has a video about the Tiempo 9 takedown model being one of the best and closest to the high end model ... I have mercurial take down model, Pro, and think it's still great if you are a mercurial fan
I had a pair! At the time they were given to me, I had no idea there were such boots, i wondered where they came from, I just had so much questions... but after wearing them on the pitch, I have to admit they were really great! What ever happened to them though?
From what I understood from the video… yes I assume he would recommend them over the speedflow regardless of price. At the end of the day though these are all great boots and really comes down to what fits and suits you the best.
Puma got the Football boot's Game locked off at the minute. I do wear Merc Vapors for training an Future Z 1.2 Tech for match football if dry an on AG. If it's on Soft Ground then the Copa SG come out to play ⚽️
@@FDGrilo They sure do! Just got the X Speedflow + after being a lifelong Mercurial user. They have terrible lockdown, I slip and slide within the boots, but if I wear a second pair of sock they’re too tight and kill my big toes. On top of that, the pads in the heels give me terrible heel blisters and pain regardless of how many socks I wear. 2/10 boots, very close to trying to send them back
I have been wearing the adidas speedflow x.1 for like 2 weeks now. And I honestly like them but when i got them they were really tight cause I have wide feet. So I had to traditionally steam it in my bathroom. Overall very great boots and really can bring out the fastest version of you! My next boots might be vapor 14s or still the speedflows. I don't really like the latest speedportals
I really like my speedflow.1 too but if you have a wide foot maybe the new balance furon v6+ or v7 would be a good option because there is the wide (2E) variant that you can pick
What boot would you buy a 9y/o (in California)? Things to consider: 1. No matter what, he will outgrow it in less than a year. 2. He may outgrow it halfway through the season. 3. 90% of fields hard ground, 5% soft ground, and 5% turf. 4. Plays midfield. 5. Tends to wear out the big toe/sole plate connection. Seperation. Anyone can respond. Cheers!
I just grabbed myself a pair of Mercurial 14 Elite HG (HG for Japan market) for the equivalent of £65, by comparison, the same boot in AG form in the European market is still €180 even in sale price
Amazing line-up! What do you think of the MG Puma Ultra 1.4 for artificial grass instead of those sharpened FG/AG boots? Don't want to twist my ankles! 😅 Thank you for your insight!
I got me the new adidas speedflow.v2 insanely comfortable and i can fell the ball like never before. I wanted the nike mercurial but changed my mind last minute what a decision that was. I always thought I need to sacrifice a bit of comfort for performance. This one is different
Hi, I've had Adidas speedflow for 6 months , at first I can't wear them , it was impossible, they hurt me so much , I think they are not for wide feet , am I wrong ? However 2 months went by and they fit perfectly, you feel the ball like no other
@@carloshoces7602first of all i am having the best experience with feeling the ball and my touch is the best with this shoes. I found out that it is not for wide feat as well but my feet is not very wide. It hurts when tightening the laces. The solution where a good thick socks. Like grip socks so you don’t have to tighten them as much. At least just make sure yor heal locked in. If your feet are wide I think predator is better but I doubt you will get the same feeling of the ball.
I’m struggling to find these in my size. Are they on back order or are they no longer available or is there a Morelia 3 version that is also fully kangaroo leather?
I’ve had Furons since the 3s (4s were unreal for comfort), new balance just had to make the only quality wide boot on the market ugly. Just gonna stretch out some predators and have sore feet this spring.
@@GiovanniRivera_ when they’re white, pink and have grey digital camo. Yeah dog. Gonna be a no from me. Plus the preds have some interesting grip tech that makes torpedo kicks (rugby) pretty easy so it’s half looks and half trade off for really tight spirals off the boot.
To me bring speedflow.1 up to 1, then ultras to 3, mizuno 2, then speedflow+ 4, vapor 14 is 5 then superfly 8 is 6, then new balance 7(don’t know enough about em)
I’ve tried most of ‘‘em and ngl the v6 + just don’t work for me, the heel is way too tight and they haven’t really gotten comfy yet for me,big fan of the rest tho
I got the Ultra 2.3’s because of you and bro these are by far my favorite pair of cleats that I’ve ever owned, going to have to upgrade to the 2.4’s soon 🔥
@@Soccerreviewsforyou I wish that they will come back to flyknit ,because this sock like feeling was amazing ,sadly I just can’t find the boot that will replicate this feeling :(
I've been wearing the vapor 13 elite for about a year now, they've been a fantastic boot but now everyone has upgrades to different styles of boots, leather or mercs, speedflow.1 or freaks, puma, tiempo I'm wondering which boot you'd say is the best no matter the price. The speedflow.1 have the carbon tech which so do my marathon shoes the nike alphafly next %. I'm 5.10/11 I'm agile and a fast player I play winger, striker and cam. I I really wanna hear your take on the best boots
@@esportsmiyagi so that doesn’t mean they are good. If anything they are better than the current new releases which just add nonsense features and sell it for £200+ every year
I really feel fast and score many goals in puma ultras but its shell life is just too short, material is too thin, a few intense games and it will tear
I'm really devistated I can't find any made in Indonesia neo beta 3s for sale in my size at the moment. I can't offered Japan made and I love my beta 3s 😭
Personally the X Speedflow is the most overrated football boot, the fit is kinda sloppy and the upper has a bit too much give for a speed boot. The soleplate though is Elite there is no two ways about it. I'll be trying out the Ultra 1.4 next they look amazing
Is the puma ultra 1.4 actually that much of an upgrade from the 1.3? I love the under the lights color-way but it only comes on the 1.3 so I was wondering if it’s worth getting the later model for the color way I like.
1.3 and 1.4 are basically the same things, I’m pretty sure that the only difference between the 1.4 and 1.3 is a little change in weight and design. I would just go with the color way you like but it’s your choice
