Unown: the worst Pokemon of any type that still manages to get more attention in the anime than Ho-Oh, Raikou, Ash's Heracross, and Cynthia's Garchomp.
Not a fan of Altaria, but with those defensive stats, don't let it set up a dragon dance or two, cuz these "okay" attack and speed stats are gonna sweep you!
In my opinion, the fact that it's a dragon type alone makes it so it shouldn't have been considered worse than Alolan Raticate. Altaria actually has some redeeming qualities, Alolan Raticate doesn't: it's too slow and has too weak of attacking stats to be any good offensively, even with Swords Dance, it's not that bulky, and it's defensive typing is pretty bad. Not only that, but hilarious enough, it was so bad that in gen7, it managed to get both of Raticate's 2 forms the untiered status, while all the other Alolan forms at least made the Pokemon they were given to better in some way, shape or form
In Pokemon Y I was mystery gifted a German Altaria right at the start of the game and it stayed with me til the very end. It's now my favourite pokemon
It's far better than crabominable that's for sure. Every time I see that thing I just laugh. He's almost always an easy knockout, while Altaria has given me trouble quite a few times in the past.
So here is the thing with trick room, you need a very specific speed range to actually be useful in it becomes if your speed is only mediocre like base 60 or something you can actually make your self get out slowed and still run into trouble. There are also many pokemon that are good in trick room for helpful to cover weakness of the trick room mons. Obviously it is not a band aid for bad pokemon but for a lot of slower bulkier mons it is legitimately a good option.
@@Limbo-.- Really? Just the jump from gen 1 to gen 2 changed it from: 1 weakness (that being Bug which was essentially worthless in gen 1), an immunity, and resisted by only one type: Psychic. Into: 3 weaknesses no immunities and a type immune to it, and now resisted by 2 types. Then there's the split of the Special into Sp Att and Sp Def, which weakened some Psychic types, such as Alakazam who now has lower Special Defense, or Hypno who now has lower Special Attack, and with Dark type being Special, it just made them more vulnerable to it. Besides, my comment was supposed to be funny, pointing out the irony in how OP Psychic was in gen 1, but now it has the weakest Pokémon.
Psychic is actually a super powerful type. A lot of types have some bad apples in their typing. I would argue that psychic is probably top 5 strongest types in the game still.
@@levistokes3960 If you couldn't tell, I was being facetious. Plus, dropping from #1 to top 5, doesn't mean it isn't a major nerf to the Psychic type. It just goes to show how OP Psychic type was to begin with.
I probably already said it in the Fighting type video, but Ice Hammer IS affected by Iron Fist, because of its Japanese name. So it's pretty much Crabominable best stab with a ton of coverage.
it's probably because the name in english doesnt make u think its a punching move similar to hammer arm. plus ice hammer is just a reskined hammer arm as it the exact same move just with a slightly different name and type change
@@bulborb8756 Hammer Arm has always been powered up by Iron fist though. The animation unlike sucker punch has always involved a fist slamming on top of the opponent.
@@costby1105 i was saying that because of its name in English, it would make you think it's not a punching move, when its actually the opposite as it is a punching move, unlike sucker punch which isnt a punching move at all
Tbh Shedinja could've been WAAAAY better Because remember, it has defense stats. If those were made 1, just like it's HP, and the defenses were transferred to attack and speed, it just might become a hell of a lot better
Unown is so obvious that I can tell without watching the whole video. What I think can be done with Unown is that the more different types of Unown you have caught, the stronger all of your Unown get, like a collective. And by getting all of them, their stats are equal to a pseudolegendary and/or Hidden Power has 40pp and always hits for supereffective damage.
Spinda @ Choice Scarf Ability: Contrary EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Copycat - Sucker Punch - Trick - Body Slam Pair with V-Create Victini, enjoy. No other mon w/Contrary can use Copycat. I use this on NatDex.
A pity Altaria didn’t get its Mega evolution as a regular one… it would have been so cool to have such a dragon-destroyer in the majority of the games.
pikachu vs unown: turn 1: pikachu use thunderbolt (unown a lost 89% health) unown use hidden power ground (pikachu lost 45% health) turn 2: pikachu use thunderbolt (unown a lost 11% health) 50 turns later pikachu wins
#1 isn't even in Sword ⚔️ and Shield 🛡️ because it's missing _that_ particular move. XD Like what would it DO? Shout-out to Shedinja for initially giving me trouble in the Battle Tower of Ruby/Sapphire when I was younger. Lol. I had NEVER seen it before and seeing "Wonder Guard" activating so many times blew my mind.
I love Ledian so much, and I’ve always wanted to make this Pokémon useful somehow. It’s such a cool design!!! I’ve run plenty of sets on the poor ladybug to help support it, but unless you get a TON of free turns due to sleep or status, it’s not setting up. A shame too, because Iron Fist/Sword Dance is a fun combo with Drain Punch. I’d love to see it get a boost in some way in the future.
Even Unown's higher SpAtk Stat can't save it's HP Psychic from being weaker than Ledian (either Special or Physical sets), but don't worry, when 2031 rolls around i'm sure Unown will get Nothing at all while Ledian gets a Mega
When I was playing Pokémon Moon version for the first time, I caught a Crabbrawler, which evolved when I was in Victory Road. It was actually really helpful against the Elite Four and Professor Kukui, but I didn’t even bother including it a trick room team
Shednija was in the top 10 teams of VGC 2 months ago these Pokémon are only based on smogon rules if your going to look at a worst perspective of a Pokémon do it from all angles
Don't really agree on Carbink and Ariados. At least carbink has some good bulk, with sturdy, so it can run with light clay or mental herb. You can't say that about ariados.
A similar argument can be made for what he said about Ledian: he stated that it is bad at a number of different sets, which honestly means it should be lower down than it was placed, since it doesn't matter if it's able to run multiple different sets if every last one of them is terrible
Here's a team you could fix on your pro thing. My Black/White team when I still in the day just caught and trained the first six Pokemon I liked: Emboar, Stoutland, Lipard, Simisage, Unfezant and Zebstrika.
Im actually training an ariados in heartgold at this moment. it has a sick design, I wish it got a mega which will turn it into the first bug \ dark pokemon
@@bulborb8756 taking a look, it appears that Altaria is likely based off of a dragon-like bird from Chinese mythology named Peng, who is sometimes depicted with wings that resemble clouds. Also, it's Japanese name, Tyltalis, could be a reference to the star Tyl, which is in the Epsilon Draconis (Draco) constellation.
Shedinja is good for a sacrifice. Using it with Alolan Muk with the power of alchemy ability and an air balloon to hold is a good combo, but sucks that nincada isn't available in sun and moon.
Im not surprised Unown is at the top cause it is BY FAR the WORST pokemon of all time: atrocious stats and a move pool that effectively doesnt exist....Unown can't do a damn thing all
i think shedinja still wouldn't even be anywhere near relevant for most players if wonder guard protected it from everything, including hazards status and weather. it would be a good buff for it and actually capture the "fantasy" of the ability it possesses
Unown is one of those pokémon that actually needs a complete rework. Each different forme you have gives a +10 Stat Boost in Sp.Atk, Sp.Def or Speed (+90 to each of those, if you happen to have all formes, with a BST of 606). Since Hidden Power got removed from the game, it should be brought back as Unown's signature move (as still the only move it can learn) and also be reworked to share typing with the Hidden Power of other Unowns (potential to deal Super-Effective damage against any pokémon, unless Fairy is the opponent's only weakeness since HP Fairy doesn't exist). Pokémon from previous generations lose access to Hidden Power when transfered.
11:00 skill swap makes it such a niche support mon, like seriously imagine putting wonderguard on a mon like scizor or any water-ground type that doesn’t rely on their ability (swampert for example). Talk about near invulnerable demon
well, i agree with everything, i knew unknown would be the worst, but was interestin see how the orders are the tier. i expected ledian would be higher
Don't do my boi Altaria like that, Gen 8 gave it the combo of Fire Spin + Perish Song so you can Perish Trap with it so that's something unique that it does which at least makes it better than Appletun.
Don't see why Altaria is on this list. Its speed is not horrible and hp is better than normal. It can use cotton guard to boost defense and I'm sure you can boost attack and sp.atk.
#8, #7, #6, #3, & #1 prove to me one thing; Johto Pokémon need help. Give them form variants, or at least boost their stats, Gamefreak! Make them more viable!
tbh gen 2 introduced a lot of very weak pokemon, so not many gen 2 pokemon are very strong....unless your name is T.Tar who is still a monster many years later for its versatility, stats and ability sand stream
Luvdisc is the worst Pokémon ever. Unown is a gimmick piece of crap that only uses one move, so from any fully evolved Pokémon capable of possessing a full move set, it’s the worst.
Totem Raticate wrecked my team because I was too stubborn to get the in game trade Hawlucha before taking the trial. 4-5 consecutive flinches. If you want to feel my pain you can watch my vid where it happens.
@@chendror872 if you can at least get Litten to level 16 before facing it in UM, that one is actually better thanks to Double Kick. Primarina is still the best starter overall though.
I am confused as to why Alolan Raticate is better than Altaria. I understand why Crabominable is better than Altaria as Crabominable is able to one hit ko an opponent but how is Altaria worse than Alolan Raticate? There are literally no redeeming qualities about Alolan Raticate unlike Altaria. At least Altaria's natural cure ability is more useful than Alolan Raticate's Hustle ability because while Alolan Raticate's attacking moves will do more damage to opponents, lowering its accuracy is a bad trade off as it will be more likely to miss and thus, doing no damage. Hustle is Alolan Raticate's most useful ability but it really isn't that useful to be honest. Don't forget that Alolan Raticate's movepull is mediocre while Altaria's movepull is pretty solid. Altaria's stats are actually a bit better than Alolan Raticate's because while their attacking stats are sub par, Altaria has better defenses than Alolan Raticate which makes it slightly harder to knockout than Alolan Raticate. Therefore, Alolan Raticate should be no higher than Altaria.
