This guy is wrong about some things. The "Zetas," or "Z," originates from the color of their military uniform, which was called color "Z." It was also the code they used to communicate with each other over the radio. They would refer to each other as "Z1, " "Z2," etc. In addition, the Zetas revolutionized the way Mexican cartels operate, not because they were well structured, but by introducing military tactics and military weaponry. All cartels are well structured and cordinated or else they won't function. Anyways the Zetas are just a shell of what they used to be. The name does not have the same aura it ounce used to. The Sinaloa cartel and CJNG the main cartels to worry about.
