All the private servers I've played in have had Fury topping in DS. Don't know if because of balancing or because it is as such. Still, I have faith in Blizzard pumping Fury to the sky
I played Fury throughout Cata, and I was at or near the top of the meters for FL and DS, and even in T11 I was still fairly high, and I raided in a Heroic-clearing guild. Fury requires careful management of the CS window, but if you know how to play it well you can absolutely pump, especially in T13.
I main an enhancement shaman and I just have so much fun on it and I tried the arms warrior and was breaking out so much more dmg but it just wasn’t fun. Thankfully my guild told me I can main my enhancement, it’s no worries :)
Thanks for the vid! Def agree with the rankings. I feel a bit bad for Frost DK. I love its playstyle, but when UH exists (of which I'm not a fan of the snapshot + pet playstyle), it kinda kills it a bit for me. Here's hoping we find some tech for it.
I don't think you should feel bad playing it. Super solid dps and during p1 frost should out dps unholy on quite a few fights. The frost DKs have been playing around with the APL in sims and are getting similar single-target dps as UH with the masterfrost variation.
According to private server data from twinstar. Unholy topped out at 57k and frost topped out at 49k as arms was 62k and the rest of the melee were all below these 3. However ranged did very well. The top dps spec was an ele shammy with 170k
Lust does stack with unholy frenzy, the reason people don’t think it does comes from the fact that on pservers and OG cata gargoyles was gcd capped (like it will be now) but it does stack for a Uber buffed DT or fast rune regen
@@Riyaniwow i would recommend not resting. The algorithm is popping off for you rn I think. In just a few months time your shit might be comparitvely dead, you never know. Get to grinding if you wanna blow up.
@@joshua_lee732 no shot. Whered you hear that? I mean maybe you're right but I just highly doubt it. Frost is a pvp spec by design, they don't even try to balance it for pve. And fire mage, while weakest in early cata, is probably the overall strongest caster of the whole xpac and possibly the strongest dps of the whole xpac. However fire does depend heavily on scaling so I guess I can see how maybe frost in pre raid bis would be best and then quickly outdone by fire once you get any sort of raid gear
As being a (rogue) progress raider back then I really think that combat rogue should be S tier in later patches, especially in dragon soul with legendary daggers. Blade flurry was insanely good.
3:20 Are we certain this is the case in classic? Wowhead comments and recent world first race raids suggest they do stack. Or at the very least gargoyle benefits from both. Can't find specific data on the haste required to hit the gcd cap on gargoyle, but if people use unholy frenzy with bloodlust, it shouldn't be something to really worry over in t11 before the stats get too high. Also is it worth macroing gnaw to dark transformation to use only when the ghoul is transformed? It's basically single target claw with 30 energy instead of 40 with a built in stun. Not seeing anyone on logs do this.
ok i feel like you started this video by saying that only raw damage would be considered since raid buffs would be easily covered, but it also seemed like that was a major thing you mentioned right before ranking most of them.
Gonna throw this out there as someone who has done many many cataclysm private servers, This list is fine and all, but a good player can pull numbers to succeed in everything. The only real exception is prot warrior. it's really really bad in t11 so if you play prot warrior, don't expect to tank HC nef or anything like that.. As for dps numbers, I've seen good players pull 25-30k as every spec in raids throughout my time. Some fights are better than others, but honestly outside of pvp specific specs (lookin at you sub rogue), anything you want to play can succeed in raids and pull their weight easily if you know your class well. The amount of times I've had people trash talk me playing combat rogue in t11, telling me to go assassination, then proceed to put out 26k single target while assassin rogues are doing 20k is a little insane at this point. TL:DR - in 99% of cases play what you want and you'll do fine, just learn your class with their new stat prios and rotations.
I would change ass rogue to S, combat to A and feral to A. Rest is perfect, long private servers player here. Ass rogue simply does a lot of dps in cata because almost all bosses can be backstabbed and its easy to play. Feral same story but a bit less dps, with best opener after demo warlock.
I have to disagree about Enhance, they are extremely explosive along with bringing a wide variety of utility. A big part of Cata is running heroic dungeons, the ZG/ZA tier needs that fast burst. I think the Classic community of Enhancement players will surprise you when you see them properly geared with a skilled player.
@@MeganArthur-kr6tj Nah, I fully understand the problems with Enhance and why Ele is more popular but when the pool of players playing a spec is smaller, you don’t often see its full potential.
hey bro loved your video, any chance you can do this including all the races? for example unholy dk and cat much better on horde but ret better on ally etc. and a phase by phase tier list if possible 😅😅😅
I am hoping for that too my friend, with the removal of the faerie fire glyph that we got in wrath we will see how we do. Maybe they do a change like that again in cata we will only see lol
@@haptreefriend well I hope they remove it because the glyph is way too busted. if they want to buff feral, they should try to get a little more creative than to slap a glyph on them that increased their dmg (in Wrath) by roughly 15%. I dont think ppl who want the glyph to stay, have any clue whatsoever how this will scale into cata.
I have only played feral in classic and im gonna be honest i dont think it should be in cata not because it will be too strong but because the rotation in cata is already pretty fun and having to change it to spam faerie fire every 6 seconds would make it not as fun in my opinion
Oh man oh man, every single tier list I have seen has gotten rogues completely wrong.... In terms of raw DPS and output for the first couple of phases Assa is S tier and in Dragon soul Single target dps Sub rogue is the most dominant spec there is, Sub rogue for about 4 of DS Bosses is number 1 DPS and combat rogue takes the spot for the other 4. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VMK_huoSnVQ.html The above is rogue DPS without legendary daggers, I mained sub rogue myself in a raiding guild that had 8/8 HC on farm and had leggo daggers etc, can safely say that I was top dps almost every fight, occasionally our Surv hunter might be 1st with myself as 2nd. You can watch literally any raid from Paragon whether Al'akir, Firelands or Dragon soul and you can clearly see rogues are top 3 dps without fail in almost every video. Granted the rogue was mainly played by arguably one of the best PVE rogue players back then but with addons that we have now and sims etc, most rogues will be able to perform their rotations optimally enough to be top dps. Everybody sleeping on Rogues and I just don't understand why or where their cata knowledge is coming from.
Dont play enhancement the sering flame mechanic sucks and was a big reason a lot of shamans went elemental enhance was good when it got elemental blast in mop but for cata play elemental. lightning bolt on the move is so much fun.
For specific fights, absolutely. But for the overall expansion I think it's accurate. I may be wrong, though! Will be fun to see how the meta plays out.
Yeah it's super useful, it's my bad-- didn't know it batched the % reduction past the absorb amount, which definitely makes it waaaay more valuable than I initially thought.
Fury wont become good in DS , they were overnerfed in original 4.3 and are only usefull of Spine of DW where you need CDs or if you wona do logs in middle
Great video, i cry as a fury warrior main. Time to spec arms i guess. I was still a young person back in original Cata so i don't remember how good the different specs were.
@@Riyaniwow its an option ofc. However i am a heroic raider and also skilled enough to test it out myself and be realistic about it. If arms pulls ahead by too much i will swap to keep my raid spot.
The damage gap shouldn't be as bad as it has been in the past. There will be best choices, but a good player can make the worst class look good still - and a bad player will still be bad even with the most broken option.
Well, most of the classes now have a few things that they need to be aware of, and if ur not doing so, ur dps will decrease, but theres still a gap between a mid skilled "god" class and a pro using a "bad" class, not to mention if they were both "pro", the god class would DESTROY the other one
You forgot that during firelands, there was a spell power caster axe that was best in slot for enhancement shamans that would hard cast some spells along with their enhancement abilities for sick deepz
Tier lists pre sims is kinda pointless, private servers and even original Cata data don’t mean much when we are staring on the final build for all classes and no one played that in T 11 or 12. For all we know blizzard buff or nerf specs. Honestly would be a huge fan of seeing the lesser played specs getting some buffs to close the gap with the S tier.
@@mcbaggins12 Depends on the gear and player. The scripting isn’t really any different for classes on Apollo and Whitemane with small bugs that have mostly been fixed. I’ve played UH on pservers and it’s solid
@@brandonkruse6412 idk how much of it was scripting diff or classic players are just better than pserver players but there were never any pserver 16 udk stacks to my knowledge. Unholy only became the number 1 best spec in classic. On pserver, aff was number 1 (except icc)
