Fun fact : Leonard, Radahn's horse was named "Leonard" wich is a name originating from the latin word "Leo" wich means "Lion". He was so much a fanboy of Godfrey that he named his horse "Lion"
Lol I came here to say this. To add on to your comment Leonard comes from the Old High German "Leonhard" which comes from the words for Lion and brave/hardy, and can basically be translated into "strong as a lion." So basically Radahn was such a massive fanboy of Godfrey, that he not only dressed like him, but also took on an animal companion and named him in relation to Godfrey's lion, basically saying "my horse is just as strong as Godfrey's lion."
Ranni's warning on her ring I don't think is her being apathetic to her potential consort, but trying to offer a kindness. Her path is dark, uncertain, and dangerous. Following her would mean, in the end, abandoning the lands between to travel amongst the stars with only her. All previous bonds, connections, and fates previously held would need to be severed to follow her. She knows it's not an easy choice. She tries to hide it, but it's clear Ranni is already mourning leaving Blaidd, Iji, and her mother behind. If we commit to her, we must be certain. And I think it means a lot, in the end, that she's willing to bank her continued survival past killing her fingers on this choice. Maybe she had that much faith in the Tarnished by the end, or maybe she was just content for us to choose our own path. But you gotta admit, there is something pretty romantic about all this.
"Big girls blouse" is an old fashioned English insult to refer to a man who is acting womanly. He's not actually referring to a blouse or its size. He's calling Godrick a coward because he begged for his life (which he considers a womanly action.) Within the context of a medievalesque society, as a warrior and especially as a noble lord, Godrick would be expected to prefer death to embarrassing himself and his station by begging for mercy.
I always find it amusing that plenty of characters speak in this 'ye olde' manner with older forms of some words, yet the terms 'big girl's blouse' and 'country bumpkin' find their way into Kenneth Haight's dialogue.
I think we do know how Rykard looks since he has paintings of his Pre-Snake self in Volcano Manor and most prominently a massive one right behind Tanith's chair
@@Chaos_Feyre in his boss fight we learn that Godfrey is Hoarah loux who was shown crucified in the opening cutscene, brought back to life by the Grace of the Erdtree.
@@ComradeOgilvy369 Huh? Kenneth was calling Godrick a coward, as Alex explained. Replace "Has he no shame, the big girl’s blouse?" with "Has he no shame, the coward?" - same meaning, just one uses more colorful phrasing.
I think that is an aspect of the reason for why he did it, but I am also thinking that he did so in order to prevent Ranni's fate as he seems to be a order purist and obviously Ranni's plan is in direct opposition to the golden order etc.
A good theory i heard was that ranni asked radahn to hold back the stars until the time was right and her big plan was set into motion. After the night of the black knives, she would be rid of her emperion flesh and then could ask radahn to let the stars flow again. This would also keep the monsters like astel at bay. But the thing ranni didnt account for was the shattering. Due to which the world was set into chaos and radahn specifically lost his mind. So maybe ranni also thought of the radahn festival to not only get the stars moving again, but also give her noble brother an honourable death. Ranni needed to make sure nokron wasnt revealed prior to her becoming a doll because the golden will could find the treasure used to kill the two fingers, which would make it impossible for ranni to retrieve it. I think radahn is more loyal to caria, i mean his mom literally lost her mind cause of the golden order. I also really like this theory cause of the cool brother-sister dynamic
Personally I like that idea because it gives him a reason to have tried to take Leyndell, for which he is several times referred to as a traitor, despite being such a "golden order fanboy"
@@althebeastisbay I think both things are true. My pet theory is that Marika produced Radagon specifically to have plausible deniability when her bastard children caused the shattering, as intended.
Rykard, Radahn, and Ranni reminds me of Loki's 3 monstrous children: Jörmungand, the Serpent; Fenrir, the Beast; and Hel, the goddess of Death. Although their parent story's resembles that of Eros and Psyche.
And Loki was a descendant of the giants, he also is often shown with red hair, both tie into Radagon pretty well. Might just be a coincidence but it's still a fun thought
This is interesting because this makes Radagon resemble Loki and In Norse Mythology Loki was behind assassination of Baldur (if look deep into Characteristics of Baldur he seems a lot like Godwyn the Golden). So it is possible that Radagon (not Queen Merika) was behind the assassination of Godwyn. Even though “Radagon is Merika” they seem to have independent conscious at some points. Radagon’s action would have angered Queen Merika into scattering the elden ring. The only downside to this theory is that Ranni would never conspire with Radagon (it possible that she kinda even hates him). Maybe she did it in purpose knowing that the “Greater Will” will punish Radagon/Merika.
I like your videos but I think the premise for part of this one comes from a misunderstanding about the Giant's Red Braid. I believe the implication is that Radagon, at least the person he was before he became one with Marika, was the offspring of a fire giant. Not that there was a curse laid upon him or Marika in particular. More similar to the curse of the 1st gen Albinaurics; wherein they all have a genetic (?) predisposition to having their legs become increasingly useless with age. My reading of it was that Radagon was born somewhere in the mountaintops as the offspring of giants, but not of full blood, and for whatever reason he felt a much stronger sense of connection to people of the rest of the Lands Between rather than to his Giant kin, which are opposed to the Golden Order. If it was a curse laid by the giants, I would imagine the description would have read "Perhaps that was a curse /from/ their kind". "/of/ their kind" implies both the giants and Radagon are of the same stock.
@toptier bryan Morgott’s like the definition of a cuck tho. He’s a great character but I wouldn’t call him a gigachad. Radahn and Godfrey fit that bill more
@@filippogrimaldi7228 Everybody in ER is a warmonger. In ER there are shades of gray. Very few characters are purely good or purely evil. While Radahn had his flaws, the game constantly reiterates him as a mighty hero among the Demigods whose men loved him and wished to give him an honorable death. And there’s also the cute backstory with Leonard which is clearly meant to add a sense of tragedy to Radahn’s story.
@@zaynthemane it's not the fact that he's a warmonger that makes him a villain in my eyes, it's his loyalty to the Golden Order and his opposition to Miquella's and Ranni's plans
when thinking about the great runes we can see that the 7 we can obtain from - Margit Mohg Malenia Radahn Rykard Rennala and Godrick are all similar so that they can create the full symbol of the elden ring, however i believe its incomplete as we havent seen Miquella's or Ranni's great runes. idk how this may relate theory wise but i see it as a possible questline for dlcs in which we may encounter miquella for his rune and possible rediscover ranni's since she cast it away instead of it being destroyed.
There’s actually nothing to imply they even had one. Being a demigod doesn’t automatically mean you have a great rune, it’s something that some of them took during the Shattering. They don’t just automatically take one. Neither Miquelon or Ranni seem like characters who would lust after more physical power and both were pretty preoccupied with their own plans, not to mention one was in the body of a small child and one didn’t even have a body. There’s nothing to imply either of them even have one, but it’s an interesting theory and maybe they do
I think that Ranni's great rune is the one we take from Rennala, but I'm not completely sure. Now, something I haven't understand yet is how the demigods got their great runes in the first place. Did Marika hand out the runes to her children after shattering the elden ring or the runes simply appeared in their possession?
Radahn sure was a general, just not one of the Golden Order. Elden Stars reads: "It is said that long ago, the Greater Will sent a golden star bearing a Beast into the Lands Betwwen, which would later become the Elden Ring." A Sword Monument close to the Impassable Greatbridge reads: "The Starscourge Conflict, Radahn alone holds Sellia secure, And stands tall, to shatter the stars" Ruins Greatsword reads: "The ruin it came from crumbled when struck by a meteorite, as such this weapon harbors it's destructive power." Radahn probably thought he did everyone a favor by holding the stars. And he also prevented the Greater Will from using them to punish the Lands Betwwen. There's a portrait of Radahn in the Volcano Manor, which means the Gelmir Knights admired him. There's an Abductor Virgin in Redmane Castle, and some outside in Caelid. Rykard helped Radahn in his war. Morgott calls Radahn a traitor, and we see them fight during the intro, which means the Redmanes sieged Leyndell. That sure made Radagon proud. When telling Jerren about Iji he tells us Iji forged swords resistant to the rot for Radahn's army. Jerren tells us to inform Iji that killing Radahn will set Ranni's fate back into motion. Then when we tell Iji he is flabbergasted as to how he didn't think of this possibility. This shows the act wasn't specifically against Ranni as if it was she'd have already known. The Greater Will banished Radahn's idol, later made his father marry another woman and drove Rennala mad.
I believe that when Kenneth Haight says that big girl's blouse, he is referring to Godrick and not Malenia. As it is an insult demeaning men who are weak, in this case Godrick the Grafted.
That’s insane now we know how marika and Radagon are one being. Knowing about the curse of the red hair. It’s really mind blowing! great video as always Jake! ♥️🔥
I think also Radahn is serving the golden order and the main purpose of him holding back the stars is to prevent any more outer gods coming to the lands between, because the greater will came to the lands in a falling star
Close but not exactly. The elden beast did but not the greater will itself. It also could be to stop the falling Star beasts and astels from approaching. Even the alabaster lords too
Radahn is referred to as a “willing traitor” by Morgott, the most loyal to the Golden Order. I don’t think he serving the Greater Will. He admires Radagon and Godfrey for their warrior status, but that doesn’t mean he is loyal to the Golden Order
When you face Morgot at the foot of the erdtree and he lists the demigods you can see a size difference for all of their individual chairs. Malenia and maquella have smaller, or normal size chairs, while radahn and rykard have giant chairs. Ranni’s chair is somewhere in between but still larger than normal. Interesting detail.
I’ve always wondered what Radahn and Ranni’s relationship was like. Did they hate each other, love each other, or were just grossly indifferent to each other.
Considering Ranni despised Radagon for what he did to their mother and the expulsion of Godfrey from the Lands Between, certain fans speculate Radahn heavily disliked his father after that.
I believe the Fate of Ranni was simply the dagger in Nokron. Had the path be open, she would eventually retrieve it and use against her own two fingers, who were hiding below the lake of rot. Radahn likely wasn't targeting Ranni specifically, but rather trying to stop external influence in the Lands Between. When we kill him, creatures from space fall, so it could be he was simply stopping another vassal like the Elden Beast from coming. Rennala's children were all knowledgeable about the starts, and each rose up in one way or another against their influence. Radahn stopped new vassals from reaching the lands, Ranni tried to free herself and go to war against the Golden Order and Greater Will, and Rykard literally declared war on every outer god.
Great video as always! The ending with Ranni was the choice of my first run, but the partial moon you see, is certainly her Dark Moon! The Full Moon is from Rennala and I'm not sure if the theorie with Ranni's Great Rune on the Full Moon is correct, but if it is, it would make sense, that her Great Rune is not needed in her ending, because she wants to start a new kingdom of the stars! Oh, and the gen pool of the giants could be right as well, cause even Godwyn is so damn big, but it would mean, that Marika couldn't get rid of it through splitting up...
I'm still wondering why people keep saying that the giants/Fell God cursed Marika and Radagon was created by her to get rid of this curse. Giant's Red Braids description only asks a question with no direction, as to whether the red hair is a curse or not. It never really implies any like “Marika created Radagon to get rid of a curse”
I was just about to comment on this. All the braid says is that Radagon hated it because it was red like the giants'. And even the part about the curse mentions it might have been "the curse of THEIR kind", meaning the giants were the ones who might have been cursed with red hair.
@@notacrow8942 exactly. Those lines are open to interpretation, as in good old FromSoft fashion. However, I feel is a bit of a stretch saying all that whole thing. Those lines are not that conclusive nor give that much information in any way
@@greanbeen2816 well if he is an artificial person he may not have a choice in the matter, also isn't his rune the circle around the elden ring making it the balance that holds it all together so there may be something about that
I'm pretty sure Radahn isn't against Ranni's fate specifically Radahn isn't even that affiliated with the Greater Will. We only know that he has his fathers (Radagons) hair and Armour (Godfrey). His seat is empty in Morgott's scene when he called them all "traitors" for not being truly loyal to the Greater Will/Golden Order. Also both Rykard and Ranni are outwardly against the Greater Will, it would make sense Radahn is also like them. If he was more into protecting the Order, Rykard wouldn't keep a portrait of Radahn, it goes against his idea completely Marika before giving all her children Great Runes were "forge your own path, whether lord or god. Just don't become nothing", giving more reason that Radahn wasn't following the Greater Will directly His repuation is of respect from everyone in game, not a single bad mention of Radahn anywhere, it's likely his intent for holding back the stars is not personal nor selfish despite being the most powerful Demi-God. A greater purpose that most characters aren't aware of, keeping to himself We're also indicated he was taught gravity magic by the Alabaster Lord, someone from the Stars. Why would something from the stars teach someone to stop other stars from arriving? It's definitely a warning. But Alabaster Lord can't control the stars, he's not powerful enough. But Radahn is with his Demi-God powers, thus giving him a greater purpose to learning gravity magic other than protecting his horse We could also say Radahn is even keen to learn sorcery in the first place due to inspiration from his mother Renalla, something both Rykard and Ranni are also capable of. That's tied to Carian/Raya Academy, not the Golden Order Ranni wanted to usher in a new age, and Radahn was unfortunately in the way. There's not much reason to say Radahn is purposely stopping Ranni when he isn't following the Greater Will according to Morgott and is son to Renalla
other than him lookinh up to two people who gave their entire being to the greater will? i dont see how it doesnt line up maybe morgott sees him as a traitor because he’s a zombie that kills indiscriminately? nothing about radahn exists to indicate he’s doing anything but trying to be a good doggy for the greater will he was probably the next in line for elden lord behind godwyn until morgott stomped him and he got rotted
@@bigfrogs4207 We don't have a single mention or dialogue from Radahn to suggest one or the other, and every other dialogue about Radahn is how powerful and respected he is, not his alignment. So we have to go off what we know and what seems more likely Again, Queen Marika set all her children on a quest with their own Great Runes to not follow the direct guidelines, to do whatever they seem fit. She wasn't exactly with The Greater Will completely either as she did the shattering and was imprisoned for it, she saw the flaws. Each Demi-God clearly listened to this except Godrick, who was looked down upon by everyone, including other Gods. Morgott also is the only one who stayed behind to defend the Greater Will directly, his entire speech was about that. He called them all traitors for not following the base lines, but Marika's wish is "rules are meant to be broken" in laymans terms. He never once mentions the state of Radahn yet calls them all traitors, not Radahn specifically, so it can't be about Zombies unless you think Malenia, Miquella, Mohg, Godfrey and Ranni are all Zombies We know Radahn has Radagon's (Greater Will) hair and Godfrey (Greater Will) inspired armour, but he also has Rennala (Carrian Family/Star God) esque Star sorcery and still has Radahns portrait up in Rykard's (Anti Greater Will) Volcano Manor. Rykard wouldn't keep his portait up if Radahn was so into the Greater Will, that entire Manor hates the Erdtree Also the Radahn that fought Morgott was clearly small, Morgott is bigger than Radahn in the painting we see xD Throughout the land he's called the most powerful, even after the Malenia fight, so i'd rather trust the lore then our comments there The only indication he would be fighting for the Greater Will is holding back the stars, as we don't know his intent. But we do know he learned to hold back the stars from someone who came from the stars, the Alabaster Lord, who wouldn't be affiliated with The Greater Will as he has gravity magic like Astel and whatever other God they're connected to. He seems more neutral than anything. Doing his own thing like Marika said to, finding that greater purpose to hold back the stars for his own learned reasons
@@filippogrimaldi7228 It's anyone's guess, since "celes" can only be translated as the singular 2nd person of the subjunctive mood of the verb "to hide", which is clearly grammatically incorrect.
I have a theory about future DLC or even Elden ring 2 where I think Rykard will be the final God you face. Why well let me lay out what every Demi-god was, since this is also a George RR Martin type story. A really fleshed out world. Where almost every little thing has meaning. So think of it as Game of thrones on the God tier level. Margot: Demi-god King Mogh: Demi-god Lord Melenia: Demi-god Queen Godfrey: Demi-god petty King (which was a title in the middle-ages). Godwyn: Demi-god Elden Lord (emperor?) Ranni: Demi-god Witch Radahn: Demi-god General Miquella: Demi-god blue blood child Rykard: A king but since he let the Serpent eat him a ‘god devourer’. Which means he’s killing gods and taking their power and thus in rebellion to the earth tree. Since the earth tree is the only thing that can take power from beings for the gods. I think Rykard is on his way to god-hood. It’s implied he’s still alive which means he’s very powerful. Kinda like becoming the frenzied lord. Taking an outer god and using it to become one. Rykard is taking the serpent god powers. Mogh could’ve become this, but failed and couldn’t even get the Kingship. Rykard didn’t fail with the Serpent and was on his way to becoming a new god/Elden lord/emperor. Of course the shattering stalled everything. So that’s why I think he’ll be the next final boss. PS: I also have a theory that before the shattering The Lands Between were/still is what the name implies. The lands between other lands and thus a traders port/busy with foreigners traveling between The Land Between. You see boats and little row boats on the map which implies it’s easily traversable. Now it’s empty thanks to all the wars and traveling isn’t as frequent. I had this thought because I noticed on a lot of armor descriptions it said it came from a foreign land. Why would there be so much foreign armor and goodies on this land? Yes because it’s a spot just between to other major landmasses. I think we don’t even realize the scope of the story told here.
I got the feeling that for a long time Ranni specifically did not want anyone to be her consort, and did not believe anyone would want to be, because her plan after the ending is going to be such a long, difficult, and lonely mission. One possibly spent out among the stars or even on the literal moon She doesn't want or trust anyone else to come along with her, until she meets the Tarnished, who gains her respect and possibly also her love. And then when the Tarnished chooses to be her consort and go on this mission with her despite all her warnings, I think she's a bit relieved
Glad you're growing. Really enjoyed your origin story video. Hehehe. Glad I could get some perspective coming from rocket league e.t.c. Lore Hunting was a different vibe when I first found it, content keeps my interest and appreciate your positive vibe! Have a good day duder!
Is it explicitly stated anywhere that Marika was cursed by the fire giants, and not Radagon? Weren't they, upon their first meeting still two separate beings? Melina tells us that Marika said something along the lines of "thou'rt yet to become me" so wouldn't their union have happened after Radagon got cursed with red hair?
I was questioning on this part too, the remembrance of the fire giant only says explicitly that was marika who lauched a curse on the last giant to become a warden of the red flame. I can't fine evidence of the curse than painted red marika's hair
There was the item red giants braids that mentions radagon hating his red hair with the text wondering if it's due to the curse of there kind and his body during his fight looks like a stone statue crumbling apart
one thing to note is that From always makes even human bosses taller than the player character for gameplay reasons (so you can clearly see their attacks) this was also the case in Sekiro with its many human enemies with no lore explanation for their size so I wouldn’t read too much into Malenia being tall
Manus Celes? Kind of on the nose as the name for a place a giant hand falls from the sky to. I wonder if all the finger and hand references were originally inspired by the phrase "hand of fate"?
This channel is so underrated. The thumbnails are so good and his theories/lore videos are sooo good. I was really surprised when he said he wasn’t at 100k yet. I honestly thought he was around 750k or something
I always thought Radahn bullying the stars might be him attempting to release himself from the shackles of fate in the most shounen way possible. Who knows? Maybe he planning on giving each one a swirly in the milky way until they promised to leave his family alone.
What if the “red hair curse” comes with an uncontrollable, or difficult to control, bloodlust. Marika manifested Radagon as an avatar of rage, the part of herself overtaken with bloodlust. That’s why she becomes radagon when fighting, that’s why she led her golden host into battle as radagon. They share the same body, when radagon was “called to the capital” to marry marika, that was just marika going home. Wasn’t Godfrey pretty busy while radagon was making babies with the lunar queen? Anyway, Godfrey is banished from the lands between, marika goes home to put her plan into motion, and radagon has to leave renalla because marika has to go back to the erd tree, so radagon can’t physically stay. That’s why radagon was able to gift her a great rune from his/marika’s body.
The description of the Giants’ red braid weapon mentions that Radagon hated his own red hair, which reinforces the notion that it is the product of the curse
Same just outergods in general tho it seems their rule is created through exploitation of people with inherent characteristics, as in forexample under the formless mother people who have the curse of omen are place upon a higher pedestal than those without To me I understand the gods as a very good representation of nation-states as they do the exact same to stay in power and nation states see themselves as basically immortal and never to be taken over by the downtrodden
Really love the lore and speculation agtjake! People were always confused about when Marika and Radagon joined together, your theory that they just snuff out everything that's not them is the most convincing and evidence bound that I've seen.
Thank you for the great video; awesome way to start the week! 🙌🏿. By the way, maybe Marika sent Godfrey and the Tarnished away so they would be free of influence from Greater Will, get stronger and come back to take over the Tree and Elden Beast. At least that is what I understand from Melina’s repeating words of Marika in Pilgrimage Church…
I alway find notion about "Radahn was loyal to Golden Order and working against Ranni " to be very absurd: 1) Radahn admired Godfrey, as his hero, but Godfrey was later exiled by Marika and Golden order. does it make sense for Radahn to be loyal to an organization who exiled his hero ? 2) Radahn's hold on the stars literally made Ranni to be immortal. How's that could be counted as working against Ranni? It's like "I hate this guys, so if you want to kill him, you need to kill me first."
What I found interesting is that the stars don't just resume their movement, they seem to be moving to where they should be all at once, as if all that stored potential energy was released. You then see them settle into place and move normally (that is to say, so slowly you wouldn't really notice they were moving at all). That would mean that our appearance just happened to coincide with the coming day of Ranni's destined ascension and that she needed us to defeat Radahn to see it come to fruition. In my playthrough at least, Ranni first showed up at the church of Elleh, very early into the adventure. I wonder if she sees something special in the player character, choosing a champion in her hour of need or if she simply solicited every Tarnished that happened by, hoping one could do the job?
A theory i have as to why Rahdan may have held back Ranni's destiny and the stars is because while we know he idolized Godfry he could have also idolized Godwyn and knowing both of his siblings Ranni and Rykhard used such under handed means to kill him. Rahdan being a proud warrior who idolizes 2 of the greatest warriors in the land between took it upon himself to set up a means in which to both foil Rannis plans and or force her her to challenge him herself in an honorable battle in order to reclaim her destiny. I also theorize that maybe it was Ranni herself who put Melena up to fighting Rahdan in an attempt to either weaken or kill Rahdan which Melena succeeded in doing thanks to her scarlot rot. I believe ranni appeared to Melena on her long journey to search for miquella and either lied and said Rahdan had miquella captive or that of she defeated Rahdan Ranni herself would assist in the search and seeing as neither of them believed in the golden order Melena wouldnt have an issue with aiding Ranni. It seems kinda wierd Melena would stop her search just to fight Rahdan for seemingly no reason. And maybe after the draw Ranni betrayed Melena and didnt keep her end of the deal knowing Melena was now too weak to be able to challenge her. I also believe Ranni is the one behind the Festival of challenging Rahdan since if you complete the Sellen questline it is revealed the ring leader is associated with ranni blaidd and iji. Ranni probably orchestrated the festival to further weaken Rahdan until she could find someone to assist her in killing him so she may continue her destiny and kill her fingers. It gives a sense of irony to Rahdan's character because while at first look he died an honorable death at the hands of a strong warrior in reality he was set up and killed in an underhanded method that was orchestrated at the hands of the person he found to be the least honorable.
i love that the curse being radagons reason for coming into being is being picked up by others, i had suspected this myself many months ago and mentioned it a few times
The halting of the stars is related to astrology as it is practiced as we look at their positions compared to one another and what is aligned with what, as if to be writing fate as time progresses, but if the stars cannot move they cannot progress the Astrologers (irl this is astrologist) fate.
Strange, confused people: "Why the hell would Radan want to hold back the stars? To screw over best wife Ranni?" Me: "Seriously? Have you fought ANY of the fallen star beasts? Astel? Why WOULDN'T Radan want to keep that shit out of his homeland?!!"
Her ending is cooler if you talk to her at her tower after completing her quest line, because there she finally tell her all of her secrets, and for the first time she did not make any demands and expects you to comply, she ASKED you if you still want to join her. And by summoning her after defeating the Elden Beast, you have given her your answer, and for that she speaks to you not only as her lord and consort, but as someone dear to her. For you are the only one she has left, standing by her side to the end. Perhaps Seluvis spoke truth in the end after all, that under that cold persona, Ranni is still a soft, gentle girl.
I solemnly believe that Ranni is the main character, she started this story and we get to chose if she ends it by helping her, we are the pivoting factor in her story and eventually becoming her spouse if we chose to help her, we are the new chapter in her story that she never expected to have, so her ending in my opinion is the canon ending but I could be wrong but this is my belief
Even though she passively warns you her path is dangerous and lonely, you still follow her regardless ( if you want to anyway) showing her you are committed to her, and would abandon everything ( well I don’t know what we had before but as a tarnished we probably had nothing so yeah) just to be by her side, she is glad and if you talk to her before beating the game she’ll call you her dear consort ( spouse ) instead of fair consort which feels like a slap in the face, but other than that, I’d rather be called dear, so y’all go together on her path, just you and her, what an ending
I mean, the cathedral of "Manus Celes" makes it sound a lot like those two fingers where connected to the stars (Manus meaning hand and Celes alluding to celestial things), but the fact it is a cathedra, a whole ass building, might also mean that the fingers where already there, and their celestial connection might be simply due to Ranni's whole moon and starts theme
I find Ranni's questline a bit sus. You get your strings pulled by a puppet and somehow all her co-conspirators end up dead. She tied all loose ends and you ask yourself when is it your turn to be the loose end that gets tied?
You literally choose to do her quest so not really it's not like she forces or manipulates you into her service , ranni didn't kill byltth or iji that doesn't make any since she literally told you to tell them she loves them , them being loss ends don't make any since ranni didn't know bytth would go berserk and iji was completely loyal to her what would she benifit from killing him ?
In very old English, “Eo” often is pronounced “Ay-Oh”, so it’d be Lay-Oh-Nard. However, most commoners in England would’ve shortened this “Ay-Oh” sound to just the soft e, “eh”. It happens naturally if you say it fast. So Leonard has been pronounced Leh-nard for a long ass time. The same goes for Eoferad, now spelled Everett.
If you need an idea for a future lore video I'd love to see you explore the lore implications of black knife assassins being in ordina the liturgical town
Wasn't the star that crashed after Radhan's fight the one that opens up the pathway to the eternal city though? Also, I saw another comment say this, so I'll mention it here as well because I do think it's important: The line says "The stars hold the fate of the Carian royal family." When we've been talking about this line, most people are talking about it in regards to Ranni, but keep in mind that Radhan is **also** a member of the Carian royal family. I'm not sure how much farther that idea can be carried, but I like it I think
This is the first video where I heard that Marika was cursed with red hair of the giants. It honestly goes a long way to explain Marika's and Radagon's situation. Marika purifies herself by giving the curse a physical form to inhabit through magic or other means, and this physical form becomes Radagon. Radagon is not a fan of his red hair because it is very literally a curse. Marika and Radagon are the same person because Radagon started out as a curse from within Marika. Melania and Miqulla really do have a sad branch of the family because not only are their Mother and Father the same person, but their Mother created their Father.
The fingers are hidden in Manus Celes Cathedral. That means literally Hidden Hand. Wouldn't make sense to call this if the fingers came down from the stars. The meteorite should have only opened the path.
Anyone else notice Iji has a stone tablet lodged in his chest hole? Almost positive he's the only troll/giant that has one. Can see it clearly after he dies.
People want to argue about the pronunciation of Leonard vs Leonard but nobody's contesting Queen 'Merica, which I pronounce "Muh-ree-kuh" because I doubt Fromsoft would make a character named after how an American Hillbilly pronounces "America". Also, who actually cares? The pronunciation of fictional names is subjective; it's not like you can offend made-up people by mispronouncing their names.
Jake, I think Kenneth is calling him a “big girl’s blouse.” Which is a pretty rad diss. He didn’t make fun of Melania’s shirt. He’s a blouse because he snuck out of the capital disguised as a lady and then groveled at the feet of Melania after she beat his skinny a55.
How did Malenia and her army get to Caelid? Because if they used the lift of Rilf they would walk through Leyndell. But why should Leyndell accept an army going through it if there is/was a war /potential war going on? Malenia fighting Radahn makes somewhat sense since Miquella is in Caelid just deep underground. Can Malenia or an other Haligtree-follower sense Miquella or did they guessed Radahn did it because hes the only demigod they knew about who could have done it (flying, gravity magic) Could Godwyn be an unwanted child? (Dialog about mausoleums) If Marika planned the Night of the black knifes it could be that: -Marika wanted or needed war, conflict or struggle (for some reason) and one ² other than Ranni had to die -> Best choice would be the stongest demigod or the one most capable of bringing peace -> That would be Godwyn or Miquella ->Both are unable to act after the Shattering ->Maybe Moghs contact with the formless mother was influenced by Marika Mogh just teleported to the food of the Haligtree because Miquella was watering it with his own blood.
I know there has been some speculation about Radahan holding back the stars to help Ranni, but I wonder if he was holding back the “star” that housed her two fingers to prevent her from killing them?
3:00 How have I never heard this referencing of the giants curse on Marika to have red hair??? That is huge, it also sheds a ton of light on why Radagon came to even exist in the first place. Are there no characters in elden ring that one might consider a living curse?
