I had fun taking this apart and cleaning out the oil nipple channels which had become clogged with hardened grease in the rear land rollers and cylinder bearings.The blades are in excellent condition and I think the mower has been sitting around doing not very much for most of its life. Fantastic little mowers made properly with a beautifully simple design that does the job and this is a very good example in nice condition.

Was the rear roller painted when brand new ?

Green yes, you can see it here at 0:27 and if you look at the landrolls of these mowers now there is typically some green paint left between the ribs

loverly mowers i think the rollers were origionally gteen.were did you get the broche from.

How can I replace the cutter cylinder bearings?

this mower cutting low does it cause any riffling effect on yhr grass? american push mower seems to not work too good when the cut height is lower then 1.5 inch.

Probably not as it’s hot many blades

Normally the ribbing of the grass is usually when the cylinder is not sharp so it bites at the grass i would make sure the cylinder is fully sharp and that you start on a higher setting and work your wat down

Rifling is caused when you’re taking off too much length in one go. Really you should be mowing every day or two and just just taking clippings rather than ‘mowing’
