Rant: My Hero Academia's Final Arc SUCKS!!! | Horikoshi RUINED My Hero Academia!!!

My issue with the war is how fast it happened. The first war had 252 chapters worth of build up while the second war only had 83 chapters of buildup. That’s 2/3 of less buildup and results in many things feeling so muddied and rushed

The most suck thing about MHA was when the writer decided to make shigaraki and tenko as different personality. So what is the point of all Shigaraki development as character? All of his freedom when he fight againts redestro? When in the end he is still a kid who need to be save. This is bs.

I was hoping you would mention Midoriya restraining Toga with Blackwhip and then letting go her because it has to be Uraraka who must defeat her. First of all, the fact that Midoriya restrain Toga with no problem is already annoying because he could’ve just done that from the very beginning, but instead of knocking her out in 2 seconds, Tsuyu convinces him to let her and uraraka handle her. Why does it matter WHO defeat her? It not like we want to see toga and uraraka fight for next few chapters which I’m hoping Horikoshi wasn’t planning on doing. It literally a giant plot hole just to make Uraraka look strong, it doesn’t.

Horikoshi must really want to end this series, cause it took little to no time for them to get to the final arc I’m actually sad about it:/ not to mention how much the other characters just developed off screen like crazy. Literally stuff we could have seen. But I hope it gets better

I feel like if The villains do win, we may see a direct sequel where the heroes have no choice but to go to other countries and leave Japan for the time being to train and learn more while detailing with their mental trauma and so much more. Unfortunately that’s very unlikely and we’ll probably get a predictable as hell ending

Horikoshi literally said that he wanted to end MHA as soon as possible, that’s just a clear sign that he doesn’t give a shit about his series anymore lmao, like it whole ass feels like I skipped an arc getting to the final arc, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else has been writing the series for him, since chapter 318, rip MHA

The reason the author is rushing the ending is because he is worn out. With the Hellish Schedule of working in Jump, and the horrible fandom, the author is spent mentally and physically. The guy has been taking breaks to recover, but it doesn't seem like it's enough. I feel bad for the guy.

The problem with MHA is that they have too many characters to introduce. They had too many characters in the beginning of the story. A school like UA should be filled with the best of the best and nothing less. And the best should be at least 11-15 students. The fodder/side-kicks should be attending a side kick academy. Heroes should be the main focus heroes and then the side heroes later throughout the seasons after everyone is established. As for the villains...There are too many fucking villains. Like hot-damn, there are literally too MANY fucking villains in MHA. What in the hell was Horokoshi thinking? Introducing all these villains and heroes and shit, and now he wants to rush the fucking project because it's too long?! He should have thought about that shit while he was making it! I dunno if this man has a short attention span or not, but when you're making a manga, and I never made a manga before but I have done some story writing, you have to have everything on point. The protagonist, the villains, the setting, the power setting etc. Making a manga, an anime, is so damn easy, a monkey could it. So if a fucking monkey could do it, why is so hard for Horokoshi? And people still praise anime? Shounen anime of all anime?

Bakugo was always annoying. That bunny bitch is likely popular because people like buff waifu even in series and not for her being "professional". This is why popularity polls are shit. There may be a hero that is almost as useful as almight but nobody cares about him because he doesn't give autographs or interacts with fans. Dabi would obviously lose to Zuko Wannabe simply because he has double quirk and no downsides to it. The fight between the female characters only exist for fan service for shippers since the characters fight for LoVe.

I'd be willing to watch a 2 hours video about this man rewriting BNHA. Cus' like, so many RU-vidrs go "This is wrong, this is bad" and they just don't say how to fix it, so in the end we just watch 13 minutes of that meme of the kid breaking his keyboard.

The danger sense not working on Mirko is an obvious reference of Peter's spider sense doesn't react to Aunt May. It makes sense for Peter because Peter doesn't see his Aunt as a threat and she's his only closest relative but for Himiko TOGA it's a complete BS. Deku has no relation with her beside she's a villain, they are not even close. She's a creepy stalker one of the most dangerous type of individuals and the manga is telling me this quirk doesn't work on her. I hate Himiko TOGA as a a character because she's cute she becomes popular many people close their eyes about what she did despite everything is reprehensible. Even the half-assed sad backstory they gave her won't change anything. She's literally a psychopath serial killer. The excuse it's because of her quirk doesn't hold water. Seriously the urge to drink blood of the person she feel attracted with, is the same uncontrollable urges as serial killers, rapists, pedophiles can have. Hell the dude whose she stabbed and drink his blood he was not depicted to be attracted to her, they were not acquaintance. Hell Shigaraki's backstory is sadder because they develop his family members and especially his relationship with his father. A better example, Twice's backstory is the best, you can understand him, the guy did a mistake in his youth he tried to move forward lost his job because the guy he had beaten is a big client for the company. His boss blamed him for that despite it happened many years ago before he even started to work them. That's why the speech Hawks gave him didn't work because he knew how shallow it is. Everything about him is understandable. You understand why he was so attached to other members of the league of villain, hell this guy was motivated by the nakama's power something you find in shonen protagonist. Toga's motivation is like she stated entitlement, she felt entitled and blamed the heroes because they are like her parents they don't value people outside the ones they saved. Oh yeah do you value the guy you assault ? Do you think he was agree to give his blood ? You just stabbed him and drunk his blood. Same for the bird you drank its blood when you were a kid.You are a complete self-centered and hypocrite narcissist who gave ne shit to the pain you inflicted to the people you claimed you love.

Okay seriously a lot of characters better die in this Arc. I'm not talking about just the heroes, I mean students, civilians, hell even some Characters parents as wel. Because they are literally fighting against someone who has been hyped up as this ultimate evil, so if a lot of them don't die in this 'war' then MHA went from meh to complete and utter trash.

The final arc might suck, but ya gotta understand horikoshi is going through major health problems and constantly gefs death threats to finish it.

Edited: I will say in a writing perspective mha writing is not cohesive. There are parts missing as if Hori did a rough draft of the series and didnt fully complete it. Its almost as if the series is in pieces. Adding on to it any character in the series can be killed individually at any time and it would make the series better. Literally anyone can die and you would get a better series.

Lol i really enjoyed your review bro. I agree Hori killed the series and for me it started since 319 till the beginning of the 2nd war with glorifying class A and undermining Izuku's efforts. Heck i even don't like the Uraraka speech. I do like her character but not her overrated speech mainly because how she gets potrayed as the one to surpass all might when she didn't do anything after the war compared to what Deku did and even certain things that happened the traitor reveal arc. Also what was the point of bringing Deku in the fight between Uraraka and Toga if he isn't contributing anything. I would've liked if he contributed something. For example Deku together with Uraraka could've done the whole trying to understand Toga's reason part and coming to a conclusion whether she deserves to be punished or rehabilated. Infact this also one of Izuku's theme of being a hero. To me Deku deserves the title of becoming the Ultimate Hero before anyone considering he has done so much.

The series on gets praised for the villains especially on Twitter and Tumblr. No one gives actual criticism to the villains writing.

Bakugou is just sad, it wouldve been great for his development if he died to save the very kid he wanted to literally kill it wouldve been good because he went from a bully getting better and better as the story went on, and then this last arc just ruined bakugou

The only reason the final Arc of the manga sucks is because horikoshi decided to waste time fleshing out the Vapid Vampiric Psychopath Toga as if My Villain Academia didn't do that already

If I remember right around the time red flags started to turn up was when hori got a new editor. In case anyone doesn't know this editors at jump get switched to different mangaka every so often and horis new editor is the editor for the Red Hood manga that absolutely bombed and got dropped by jump. Editors get some level of input as they review the chapter for publishing and suggest changes to the mangaka before release.

Judging by how Madara vs the Five Kage went I got a pretty good idea about how the fight between Endeavor, Hawks and All For One is gonna go, that also goes for the rest of this arc I fucking knew it

This arc is rushed and out of place horikoshi has left so many loose curtains I think he's struggling I mean for example look at the 2 latest chapters we went from the whole endeavor vs afo fight which I guess he was trying to develop just for the next chapter to come out of the blue with shigaraki vs bakugo it's getting worse and worse horikoshi should have either built up more or at least should have taken a break cause whatever is happening now has me uninterested.

Also never forget what horikoshi said in volume 1 "I don't expect the series to stay popular. I want to create something that I can enjoy too". To explain danger sense, It works on the intent of the attacker. It sense whether or not a character has malicious intent. Its not about physical danger but malice intent. That's why danger sense went off at UA when Deku was not in physicals danger. Heck, we know that class 1-A was attacking deck and sent him into a building with attacks and danger sense does not go off. Also, Mirko was never and has never been mature in the series. That is apart of her personality. Same goes with Bakugo. That is literally their personalities. Just because they are at war does not mean their personalities will change.

I'm just here listening as an average, appreciative and avid reader of MHA and just laughing at how someone finally noticed all these things other than me, I like the emotional context and all but you can't tell me that Deku, who right now is with at least higher than 50% of OFA control, can't just speed blitz all the villains other than strong or defensive quirk people like AFO, Shiggy or Dabi plus if they choose to bring in some random ass villain who's meant to be stronger than 50% Deku then that's just pure Bullshit. I understand the villains have higher numbers but if 100% All Might was weakened in the USJ and had to go overtime and still was 60X weaker than his prime that means 50% Deku, who isn't even injured yet, is like 50% prime all might and that's like 30X stronger than USJ all might. Like Deku should be OP as fuck right now but because Horikoshi made the power scaling commit suicide with Shiggy in the war arc it's just all trash even if the power scaling wasn't messed the fuck up it still doesn't make sense why Deku can't deal with normal villains in an instant it's only gonna take like half a minute to clear out all the ez villains and then he can just leave the masses of heroes to deal with the high-ends and strong villains at the island and after he's done with shiggy Deku can just come back. Even if he can't then they can just send Daddy + Mommy Issues, Jeans Charles, Boom Boom go brr, Yandere with energy powers or even just tintin who hasn't been shown to be at any battle field yet. Simply put: Horikoshi is showing what a bad ending is. I want to see these match ups but the thing is if you're gonna bring in Deku to the island just for Toga to confess and then make Deku run 300km then it just shows how bad the series really is if it can't even deal with a simple power vacuum. Like Hori could've just made Shiggy not a one-shot machine and since Star and Stripe deleted some quirks from AFO it would actually make the entire sacrifice half useful by getting rid of most of Shiggy's oneshotting quirks and have some sort of viable explanation.

Finally somebody who views the state of mha the same way I do, and to have AFO as a final villain is a fucking joke. Nigga lost to All Might on screen he doesn't even fucking do anything. I don't get Shigaraki anymore all he does is cry like a bitch and DESTROY because it's convenient. And then there's psycho ass Toga and Dabi in the background wtf All they really do is just stand around and doing nothing but talking for the majority of the chapters from the final arc.

The video is not yet released. And I already say, yes! Yes, Horokoshi killed his own series. I don't even know how people can keep watching and not notice how bad it's getting. Like seriously. It took me a long time to realize all the flaws of the work, its characters, wordbuilding, etc. And the big joke that is Deku. But the most frustrating thing is that there was plenty to do! Everything was in front of the author's eyes and the fans managed to get more interesting things out of his universe than he did. Because, yes, there are fanfictions of MHA that are much better written than the manga! Anyway the moment when all the A1 class did their shonen moment cliché. And the out of character and not even coherent excuses of Bakugo, it already announced the color for the continuation. But really what sold me that Horokoshi doesn't care anymore is the revelation of All for One's goal. It's a big cosmic joke. I was hoping that the villain would have a logical, coherent and morally grey goal. That it was a fight against the hero society, the hero commission, the administration, you know like a good villain. That if they hadn't already carried out his plans, it was because he wanted his brother's quirk back. No, they gave us the cliched thing. And that means everything. I had said it before, that the goal of All for One would set the final tone of the work. And that if it was a bullshit will of control the world, it would be bad. You're going to make believe that the guy who has lived for over 200 years and can steal everyone's quirk decided that he wants to control the world now? That's flat writing. There are so many other flaws besides that. But all it shows me is that Izuku is a big joke of a character. We would have had Bakugo as the protagonist of the manga, it would be a much better story. Atleast for me.

I've been saying that MHA is an overrated hype job and has only been good waaay back in Stain arc for years now. And Stain was a rip-off from Garou anyways. Ever since All Might "defeated" AFO and we got Shigaraki as the main villain I dropped this shit for good. Here and there I check it out to see how it's going and lo and behold, it gets worse whenever I peek back. I already knew this was gonna turn into Naruto 2.0

I agree that it sucks ass, but for completely different reasons. Ochaco vs Toga would have been absolutely fine, seeing as how it was a rivalry battle. It's like with, say, Batman vs Joker. You know Joker is going to lose, how tf could he not? But still, it doesn't take away from the fact that it's a rivalry clash. My issue with it; Tsu. Why tf did Horikoshi throw her in!? This is Uraraka's rival! What effing purpose does throwing Tsu serve? As for Shoto vs Dabi; again rivalry, but this is just straight up underdone. They have not had enough time to establish themselves as rivals, but now Horikoshi is essentially shoving this fight down our throat and saying "enjoy." But the thing that I absolutely hate about this entire arc is what he did with the traitor plot line. You wanna make Aoyama the traitor? Good for you, go for it bro. But you know what you absolutely have to do when you make that kind of decision? You milk it for all it's worse. You show us how each and every character reacts individually to the reveal and have some outright lose any and all trust in him. You show us in great detail what led Aoyama down this path and show how much he struggling to keep his God damn sanity throughout the Arc, like what even fucking AoT manage to get right. Hell, you can go crazy and make a whole mystery arc before the reveal, maybe even have one of those underdeveloped side characters heavily involved in said mystery arc, just cause. What you definitely not do is have the f*cker confess, get captured immediately, get insta forgiven by every single character you can think of, then become a plot device that leads into the final battle all while completely and utterly forgetting about him. AND THAT’S WHAT HORIKOSHI DID! I'm just sorry I liked this anime in the first place man. Had I known the writer was straight up dumb when it came to writing a good story from start to finish and can't even comprehend the universal truth to writing "the story comes first", I would have backed off and never even glanced at it. Although I can't hate it completely cause it was the first anime I ever watched, aside from Pokemon, which I didn't even know was anime at the time I saw it, wnd if not for My Hero, I would never have gotten into any of the actual good shit like One Piece, Death Note, Fullmetal, the list goes on.
