Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern: July Freight Trains

Coming in the summer month of July is the Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern Railroad. Based in Rapid City, South Dakota, the railroad is one many short lines owned by Genesse and Wyoming. Formed in 2014, the line was purchased from the Canadian Pacific, that owned the line of the Dakota, Minnesota, and Eastern. Today, RCPE continues to haul freight throughout South Dakota and parts of Nebraska, Wyoming, and Minnesota. The film includes shots in Rapid City, Piedmont, Summerset, Black Hawk, and Whitewood. There are even a few bridges trains cross as well as going through a tunnel beneath Interstate 90.
