Sad to see how much older the woman looks 5 months later as well. It's killing both of them.

It's merciful that he went that quickly. A good friend of mine started showing signs 12 years ago, was diagnosed 11 years ago, and is still alive - barely - in a home. She was 58 when it started and hasn't been able to talk for years now. Survival in that state is terrible for everyone, especially her.

@@peacechildrasta91 My friend did go through a stage, unfortunately, when she was fearful of her delusions that there were "devils" all over the place - she told me that what looked like the light fixture in the ceiling was actually a devil. But that passed, thankfully. I haven't seen her for several years because we live thousands of miles apart, but she has long since gone past feeling or showing any emotions. I'm sure she is now just in a clueless fog, which is merciful, to a degree. But death will be a relief when it comes for her.

The reason why Alzheimer's patients get worse in a hospital situation is that they are more confused, in a strange place. It will be scary for them because they can't understand what's going on and where they are at. The worst thing you can do to those patients is to move them from place to place.

Amazing how these women have a only me attitude. I feel sorry what this lady will do to her poor husband. I love it, since when is a 50 50 relationship. How can you put a percent on a relationship?
@alienwarex51i3
@alienwarex51i3 3 года назад
If your wife's condition suddenly (within WEEKS) became such a burden that you had to essentially take care of their every need, wouldn't it be a good way of describing the progression of your relationship? Previously, you both had taken care of things in a more even distribution, but since Alzheimer's struck, your significant other's previous responsibilities have fallen unto you. No need to shame somebody for the way they're dealing with these truly horrifying circumstances. The one thing that people want most is a loving relationship. When your own wife doesn't recognize you after 40 years of marriage, what do you suspect that does to a man? At that point, an "only me" sort of attitude is entirely warranted - because it's literally _only you_ that's left. There's no saving your wife; they're fucked, and it's on you to take care of them. They have no idea who you are or what you're doing in their presence. They may as well not exist, because it makes no difference in their eyes. You're a complete stranger. They don't even know your first name. It's extremely sad that people repeating the same rhetoric that you do fail to recognize the atrocities that people who have a loved one with Alzheimer's experience on a daily basis. And, if you do have a loved one with Alzheimers, you seem markedly unempathetic, and I hope to God that your own loved ones can find peace in spite of your own indifference to the challenges that they face.
