The Chiefs GREAT defense is overlooked. From their defensive line to their secondary they are not given enough credit. That plus Mahomes doing Mahomes things when it counted most "with below average receivers" was the difference.

Come to terms with how insanely great and above the rest of rhe NFL is Patrick Mahomes!!! He has taken down Justin Herbert, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and add Brock Purdy to the list!! He very much reminds me of NBA legend Michael Jordan who did the same thing to Carl Malone and John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler and Akeem Olijawan and so many others. Unheard of playing in 6 straight AFC Co ference title games, 4 out of thr last 5 Superbowls!! Winning 3 of them plus back to back championships and 3 Superbowl MVP awards!! No one can stop him, all of these great young qb's have the dubious distinction of having to play Mahomes for the Lombardi Trophy. And the scariest thing, is that Mahomes is now moving into his prime as a player. Who will. E able to stop him!!!!!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮

I can’t believe Peacock is naming miscues in the first half that lost the game. Pacheco also fumbled in the red zone that stalled a scoring drive. The fact of the matter is the Niners we’re up 10-3.

We had joy using depth receivers and each time Mitchell ran the ball he gained above the game average. Muffed Punt, CMC drop, Dre going down and the extra point miss all impacted the outcome. However it was clear when we used depth players Spags was caught off guard. The KC D knew what was coming. They have two shut down corners so they took away Deebo and Brandon. Kittle got jammed. Juice had a great day. The Conley, Juan and Ray Ray receptions were big gains. To beat a champion you need to have Swiss Army Knife approach and trust the players. The O Line wasnt good all night, Jones wrecked us up the middle. Purdy was on his heels most of the night. Purdy had a great game the tape will show this. The outside run was abandoned too early.

The Chiefs shut the passing game down also because they have two great coverage corners. Purdy kept trying to hit a covered Aiyuk. The passing game only started to crack open once you went to Jennings and other depth recievers.

I still got Nick Bosa as best D lineman in football. Best edge guy I’d say is Madd Maxx. Nick plays on the edge a lot but he plays inside a lot, he’s a beast. Ferocious. Micah way overrated. He disappears. For years it was Donald as the best, but he’s trending down. I thought Bosa had a great game myself.

Most of the passing issues was not just Purdy missing passes, the OL did not give him a chance, 3rd down in OT and a rusher runs freely towards Purdy, can't blame it on Purdy

Crocker is correct. The mistakes and turnovers contributed to the loss. But in those last 5 minutes of 4th quarter and OT when it was tied, a play NEEDS to be made, do or die, “over my dead body” type situations. Both teams had equal opportunities to cash in at that time. 49ers didn’t and Chiefs did.

49'ers 31 rushing attempts for 110 yards - 3.5 yards per carry. I'm sure the Chiefs were saying, just keep on running it. . Even the "they can't run the ball" Chiefs ran for 130 yards on 30 carries - 4.3 yards per carry.

Yall didnt run the ball enough when you was on offense all night long. So many wasted possessions. And not running on 3&4 at the end was crazy aswell. Some of the playcalling by Shanahan was not good at all and it was costly in the end. But also shit like moody missing the one point kick and ray ray fumbling the return punt it just seemed like it wasnt meant to be

Outside of a couple 1st half drives both offenses were smothered by the opposing defense. Also, for the unfortunate there was the fortunate, like the td to CMC not being called back for either offensive pi or illegal man down field on the o-line. Peacock seems blinded by his support for Purdy. Close games almost always come down to which qb made more plays when they needed to. Thats what Purdy did vs the Packers and thats what he did vs the Lions. He made plays and Love didn't. He made plays when Goff (and his receivers dropping passes didn't). Both of those games the 49ers were outplayed until it mattered most.

Excellent point. Purdy beat the Pack & Lions on 4th quarter drives when the 49ers didn't play well for the 1st 3 quarters. If you watched Peacock & Crocker after those victories, they praised Purdy for his closing out the game heroics. But Peacock, in particular, refuses to use the same logic that Mahomes scored the game winning TD.

@@zacsinden4514 for most of the game the Chiefs offense was bottled up. Yes Mahomes had a 50 yrd pass but RB fumbled right after. They both had 13 drives. For most of the game both teams were punt, fg or turnovers. They combined for 4 total td. Both defenses showed up until they tired during the end. It was timely disguised blitzes, missed blocking assignment by a backup, after the starter went down, that ultimately decided the game. It was a chess match.

That being said, Purdy was still 12-19 for 130 and a TD while being blitzed and had a 70QBR against a defense that held the previous 3 teams to a 40-45QBR. My point is that while we always want TDs, when Purdy walked off the field the final 2 times he did, he did so with a lead and the Defense and Wilks couldn’t hold it. I place that on Wilks.

Purdy played a good game. I was surprised how composed he was in the game. This was on Kyle. Run the ball. Also, Oline was getting destroyed. Purdy had no time. Call screens and check downs to let playmakers make plays and stop the blitz. Did we watch the same game?

First of all , this is one of the best game ever . The 2 teams are both good and evenly matched , although the 49ers is clearly the better team but the Chiefs is very resilient and they have a better QB . There were more mistakes on the 49ers side but the Chiefs made some too , which was expected in a game like this . The main reason the 49ers lost was their coach having a fetish of throwing the ball when he did not need to . I am talking about when the 49ers were 3rd and 4 right before they kicked the FG at the end of regulation . They drove the length of the field , got 4-6 yards average from running the ball , it was just under 2 min., it’s 3rd and 4 and they threw the ball . Brock Purdy is not Tom Brady , he could not change the play before Jones was closing in so he missed the throw . But if Kyle ran the ball , it’s only 4 yards , the Chiefs D was tired , Christian was running thru the Chiefs D like a hot knife thru butter , if you could not get a 1st , then kick the ball , went up 3 pts and drained the clock . CMC was taking a beating. He was hit or miss in the second half. But he was usually hit by 2 to 3 guys at the end of his run. He averaged 3.6 yards per carry by the way 80 something yards on 22 carries.

Crock, my only thing with what you said about Brock is that it's up to Kyle to put him in a better position. He can call high percentage plays repeatedly and make them work. I just dont think Kyle adjusts in the biggest moments.

Crock is dead wrong and can’t even stand behind his bad take. “I’m not putting it on Brock, but at the end of the day it’s which QB can make those plays”. He is putting it on Brock and it’s a bad take. Peacock is right. The CMC fumble, the penalties, and the missed punt. Those were the unforced errors that lost the game. Bad luck? Sure. But you can’t put this on Purdy. He did his job. There’s only one Patrick Mahomes and you can’t whine and complain we don’t have him. Purdy played great and the team worked hard. Sad we got the outcome we got, but proud of the team that got us there.

Purdy played ok,but not good enough,he missed two long throws into the endzone for td's and he was awful on 3rd down,melted against the blitz, looks off first wr too quick.he could not get td in OT and we all knew it was over at that point.heck if Purdy got one first down at end of regulation they coulda ran clock down and won with FG but he could not deliver.Would i want Purdy as my teams QB,??? NO. And with Deebo,Ayiuk, and Kittle,Purdy could NOT deliver.

Penalties in the 1st half and the decisions to throw before the go ahead FG in regulation (leaving KC w/ 2 TO and 40 more seconds) and on 3rd and 4 in OT cost us the game. Should have ran twice on 3rd and 4. I don't care about the defensive look, run and impose your will.

This is all on Kyle!!!! And I agree with crock, Brock could have made some plays but rewatched the game and the offense line started sucking and Brock was holding on the ball too long! Kyle tries not to loose instead of go win!! Plays too safe and that has bit us in the butt to many times.

I have been processing this loss. Rooted for 49'ers but not necessarily a fan. Listened to many different opinions and read options. I personally thought the Chiefs won it. The 49'ers had some miscues especially on OL pickups but I thought if there was one thing that I would change was in regulation...to go for it and play 4 downs on the fg drive of SF. Too much time for Mahomes with 2 timeouts. Can't give the ball back against Mahomes/Reid/Kelce.

The worst moments of this season for me was screaming for Shanny to run the ball and then losing my cool when Purdy throws it. He threw a pick in the end zone during the Pack game when they should have ran it. In todays game, the worst moment was 2nd and 5 in FG range 4th quarter…. We pass, then 3rd and 4… We pass… At least we could have ran the ball both plays and at least chew the clock/take a KC timeout before the FG. But instead we give it to Mahomes with 2 minutes left…. WTF else is gonna happen but him going down field with 2 timeouts………

I have never seen a game where both team don't have missed opportunities. Both defenses are elite, that is why you had an UGLY Game. I myself don't think it was ugly, because I love watching defenses more than offenses. The SF D lost this game because they came out on fire, but burned out at the end. They looked exhausted. Bosa even said on the sidelines. OT, OT Sucks. Chiefs were EXCITED to go into OT.. There is your answer on why the CHIEFS won.

Find a way line he did in lions game against a weaker D. Crock right. But Purdy can get better imo too. I don’t think he’s trash. Brock and the Niners played well. But if you’re gonna beat the Chiefs…you gotta outplay Mahomes. 9ers had their chances. They could’ve put the Chiefs away in the 4th. All they needed was 4 yards for a first down. Then milk the clock, kick the field goal. Game over. CMC could’ve gotten 4 yards. Even if they needed 3rd and 4th down. No guts, no glory. As soon as they put the ball back in Mahomes hands….i knew the result. Tough break

Love Crocker but he is giving too much of a pass to the defense and putting too much on Purdy. That Deebo overthrow he was getting hit so he couldn’t step into the throw. The defense had 2 chances to make a stop and win the game, the offense needed to do more but at the end of the day they gave the defense a chance to go out and win the game. Farrago would’ve taken two sacks and thrown an incompletion or interception, Purdy gave us a chance.

You have to give credit to the Chiefs defense. The 49ers had multiple opportunities to create separation and the Chiefs defense kept them in the game. The Chiefs will just find a way to win in critical situations. They adapt to whatever they need to be.

Although the Niners lost the game, they gained me as another fan this year! Life can bring us adversity that we are unable to overcome at certain moments in one’s life. The Niners certainly had theirs losing Kinlaw early in the game, a unlucky bounce of the football during a punt return and a missed extra point was more than enough reasons for the Niners to lose. However, in my eyes the Niners are Champions by their faith in God and their dedication to their craft! I have no doubt the Niners will get another chance to right this wrong in another SB soon! Gos bless the Niners and the Niners nation!
