This is a great matchup and can’t wait for round two. Also, can we stop putting these events on a stage. Wyatt Hendrickson was run off and fell feet off the stage yesterday. Does someone need to be hospitalized before we fire the morons who think this is a good idea? This is ridiculous.

I've seen the replay a few times and I don't know why there is any controversy about the Gilman challenge.. Spencer clearly landed on the inside of his shoulder, no exposure.. Match 2 will be a war, Lee needs to turn it up!!

I thought that was 4 from Gilman but we had a really bad angle. Still happy for Spencer Lee, I predicted 6-2 win for Spencer so I was really close to the correct score.

From the angle I saw it looked like Lee just avoided danger. But these things need to be reviewed from different angles; I saw that Lee's shoulders stayed out of danger position but I didn't have an angle to see his lower back. That fast standup at the end of 1st period when Gilman was in on a grounded single leg puzzle me. They were well within bounds, and I didn't see any illegal grip or danger to Lee's knee, so I have no idea why the ref blew the whistle. I was really surprised by Gilman's decision to hang onto Lee's leg after he got taken down and the 2pt were scored. Maybe he was looking for a defensive turn or reversal, but that's risky on someone like Lee who is a straight-up sorcerer on the ground.

@@jsl8461 yeah I think the was just the referees, they have been doing crap like that all tournament it annoys me. I chalk it up to American referees not being good at freestyle

It was a great match. Gilman came out hand fighting hard. Luckily Spencer slowed the hand fighting down and took over slow. It looked like Spencer got gassed or injured his knee because after Spencer took down Gilman and put Gilman in a tilt, Gilman held on to the knee and hyperextended it during the roll through and tilt. Then when they got up Gilman took Spencer down for two and tried to challenge for 4 because they thought it was a feet to back, but Spencer went to his chest so it never broke the 90 degree angle!!

Flo seems to extremely biased against Iowa. They have hardly talked about Spencer Lee the entire tournament and this is the only match the didn’t say the outcome in the title.
