It is the story of a great WW II hero, one of the bravest Polesin history - Captain Witold Pilecki, was, according to manyhistorians, among the most important conspirators of WWIIon all fronts. His heroic and sometimes even hopeless fightagainst the two ruthless totalitarianisms of the 20th century -German and Soviet - is dramatically visible in his biography.The film tells the story of a man whom the communistpropaganda tried to erase from the consciousness of Polesand history for nearly 45 years. The viewers can follow thefate of a brave conspirator, a loving husband and father, anda man who voluntarily agreed to be arrested and transportedto Auschwitz. Soon after the end of WWII, he finished writingand editing the so-called The Pilecki Report, which is anextraordinary testimony to the German crimes in Auschwitzand the activities of the resistance movement in the camp.
