Mom was right…right? I was in my 20’s then and everyone wanted to be Elvis Presley (I bet your mom loved him, too), or wanted to be Tom Jones. Tom performed this before a live audience, no special microphone, no cutting and pasting. Just pure talent. Tom is now about 81 and he still has those pipes! In today’s fake music, there are no more Tom Jones, or Rightsous Brothers, or Elvis.
Yeah, Elvis loved Jones voice..riding back from a concert, Elvis heard Green, Green grass of home on the radio, and called 6 times to have it played again..Even Elvis couldn't cover Tom's songs ....

Written by his friend Lonnie Donegan in 1962 Tom recorded this in 1967 ..Elvis Presley ( who was an admirer of Tom Jones) did a cover of it in the 1970's ..In 2019, Donegan's son, Peter, auditioned for The Voice UK in which Sir Tom Jones turned his chair for him. Tom Jones when finding out and taken aback by who he was, performed an impromptu duet of the song with Peter! Well worth watching
No one can compare to Sir Tom Jones 🌟 his voice is absolutely stunning 🤩 he will be 82 in June this year and is still singing 🌟 he still has his powerful voice and still sings with compassion and emotion 🌟
He turned 83 last June (2023) and he and his wife were married for 59 years when she passed from lung cancer in April of 2016….got married at 16 and 17. He is FANTASTIC!
Sir Tom Jones in now in his 80s and a judge on the Voice in Great Britain. One of the contestants on the Voice was the son of the writer of this song. Donny Lonergan, wrote this song specifically for Tom Jones and when Donny's son was on the voice Tom Jones and he did a duet.. Even though Sir Tom is in his 80's his voice is still just as powerful as it when in the 60s. There is a video of that encounter on RU-vid.

Tom was just about 18 months into his career and I think this was second hit record. He is now 82 and us about to tour his home nation the UK 🇬🇧. Tom’s first hit record is better known to American audiences at least as Carlton’s dance, Carlton in Fresh Prince Of Bel Air dances to Tom’s 1965/66 record It’s Not Unusual!! This song was written by English singer/songwriter Lonnie Donegan who had already recorded it with no success. He invited Tom to his home to listen to it believing that Tom had the vocal skills to do the song justice, the rest as they say is history!!!!

I'm 60 years old. I grew up with Tom Jones music. I still cry and get goosebumps when I listen to his songs today. This one, in particular, is pure joyful talent from the gods. I love Tom Jones and always will. You can do more reactions of his music and I wouldn't mind. Can you please also do some reactions from a new talent by the name of Jonathan Antoine.
