Just go to his YT channel, and say, "Eenie, Meenie, Minie, Mo..." and you won't be wrong. I would suggest that maybe you might want to start with his sections from the older years, and then go on from there, but...yeah..."Eenie, Meenie..."
His talent and voice is natural and pure! It´s so touching. HE got me 🥰Thursday I go to my first Tom Jones Concert, here in Germany. A incredible VOICE with 84 years now... I was a voice teacher for over 40 years and I can tell you, if you can match pitch, you can be a better singer. Now, can anyone sound like Tom Jones? Not likely. A lot of it is god-given and he has a lot of power that many people don't have. He could have been an opera singer. But hey, we're glad he wasn't because a lot more people got to enjoy him! I saw him last year in concert and he's still amazing at 82! Look for clips on him in the British voice. Listen to the duet between him and Jennifer Hudson of It's A Man's World. Wow! Still has it!
Tom Jones is a Welsh singer who has one of the smoothest powerful voices around. And he was a showman too, in fact he was a big heart-throb with the ladies. He has so many hits such as "It's Not Unusual", "Delilah", "What's New Pussycat?", "Green, Green Grass of Home", "She's a Lady" etc. He covers a lot of genres. He is still performing & is a coach on "The Voice" UK version. He also had a variety show from 69 - 71 & had some of the biggest music stars at the time.
You're 100% correct: you CANNOT learn this! You can practice, improve, and hone your gift, but you have to HAVE that gift in the first place! I can stretch my lung capacity to the max, but I ain't never gonna be Marvin Gaye (or Tom Jones)!
Tom Jones is from Wales. He was 27 years old in this video and still has that powerful voice today. He's around 82 and is a judge on The Voice UK. He and Jennifer Hudson have done some amazing duets. There are several videos of Tom singing on The Voice. Check out Tom and Janis Joplin singing together. He had a TV show and you're right about your wife. LOL Check out the video "Treat Her Right" from The Tom Jones Show. The theme song to the James Bond movie "Thunderball" was performed by Tom and it is one powerful piece of music.
@@katrinacash6393 Hi Katrina! You have a lovely name! I named my middle daughter Katrina, however she doesn’t like it and has used Katie since she was a teenager! I was reasonably sure of his age! Peace and Blessings to you and your family from Down Under!
Sir Tom Jones still sounds good...he turned 84 in June 2024. He is from Wales, United Kingdom and he has the great voice of a lot of the Welsh. Nobody sounds like Tom Jones. Check out "Delilah". There is a video of Tom, from The Voice, where he sings this song with Peter Lonnegan, the son of the man who wrote this song, Lonnie Donnegan.
He had a TV show, sang duets with his guests, many of the greats from that era: Janis Joplin, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Stevie Wonder… all fantastic
One of the great pure vocal talents of our time, and a hell of an entertainer too. This is killer stuff for sure - great choice, and great reaction as always. Peace and love from Canada☮
Thank you for your reaction! Tom Jones was HUGE back in the day. He had his own TV show. Women used to throw their panties at him on stage. Really. And he's still around. We all loved Tom Jones.
If you're talking of God-given vocal talents you should check out Amira Willighagen. Unusual genre for you but I guarantee she'll knock your socks off! Try 'Your Love'!
You can look up Britain got talent and look for Tom sings he is 83-84 now and still sounds just like this. His son manages his shows. Married his wife at like 18 and stayed with her till she passed a few years ago. It is rumored he slept with over 1000 women he was a ladies man. And yes he still tours somewhat. He doesnt do big concerts like stadiums but smaller more personal venues, is what i read.
There is a video of Sir Tom on The Voice UK, when the son of the man who wrote this song (Lonnie Donegan) auditioned. On the spot, they did a duet. Both great musicians, so able to just "jam".
His name was peter.his dad was a skiffle artist.tom Lonnie had passed and Tom's wife(childhood sweetheart) had passed a couple of years before. You could see the emotion in his eyes.
He's been a judge on all the voice uk series bar one when the bosses decided they wanted someone younger but it didn't work and ge was back the next year. A new series starts soon with will i am,sir tom, Leigh ann rimes, danny and tom from McFly. The crowd gets them to sing in-between auditions and they do a song together at the beginning of the series.the vioce uk has a yt channel. You may know him from it's not unusual the song carlton dances to on fresh prince of bel air.
Tom was one of the greatest singers ever. Just type in Tom Jones duets on youtube and there's so many that are very entertaining, one of the best is opposite Janis Joplin
OK...I believe that God gives the ability to sing to EVERYONE. Scripture? One of them is Psalm 68 (and check out many other psalms...the word itself MEANS...singing praises). God created ALL people (the devil CANNOT create people). Innately, He gave EVERY SINGLE PERSON a voice to both SPEAK and to SING. No...that doesn't necessarily mean that every single person can sing in a way that is melodic to anyone EXCEPT God. It doesn't matter. We are ALL supposed to sing TO God with the voice that God GAVE us. Period. Even though there are sometimes people who are born MUTE, they can STILL sing to GOD...inside. On the other hand, it takes a lot of work to learn to sing out loud in ways that are accepted by someone's surroundings (nationalities), etc. Yes...I DO agree that there are some people who seem to have exceptionally-tuned and lovely singing voices. However, there are ALWAYS going to be people who do NOT like everyone's singing voice. There is ONE (all three PARTS of HIM), though, who DOES both like and LOVE every single voice that speaks to HIM in song (NO MATTER WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE TO ANYONE ELSE). I would say to every single person, "Do NOT refrain from singing...EVER...whatever way you CAN sing...DO IT!" PERIOD! I would also urge you to use your voice to sing to GOD. You already know that I've been singing since I was tiny. I REMEMBER singing, back shortly before I was two years old. My mom and dad also told me, from WAY back, that I pretty much sang from the moment I was born. That's just the way of it. Also, both of THEM sang (beautifully), and what they heard was SONG, when I would open my mouth to say ANYTHING...even when I cried. That's what THEY always told me, and most of that, I remember, firsthand. It's all I ever wanted to do...produce MUSIC, and SING. I'm still that way, and though the devil did his best to ROB ME of those skills, he did NOT succeed...well...he did, in a small way, for some 12 years...BUT GOD...!!! As for Tom Jones (who was born "Thomas John Woodward" by the way, and is now a "sir", and he's still singing)...he has been one of my VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY FAVORITE singers, since I first heard him sing, back in 1965. That, of course, was shortly after our little band started up (in late 1964), and some of his songs were the first ones we ever sang. I will NEVER forget any of them. Amazingly, there are actually people (like my daughter Judi) who do NOT like Tom's singing voice. To me, that's "INCONCEIVABLE!" but...every person hears things differently, so... Another "by the way" is that Tom has been a judge on the UK version of "The Voice" for many years, and he still has been, in 2024!!! Thank you VERY MUCH, Steven, for your great reaction to this "oldie," which I have loved for a long time! 😀
Great points Linda and I always appreciate the insight! He truly has an incredible voice and God does give us all ways to worship him! 🙌🏻 Really needed to hear this today! Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
another great UK singer is Englebert Humperdinck Let the Heart aches Begin he had the same manager as Tom Jones also Gilbert O'Sullivan singing Alone again Naturally
One of the top male vocalists of all time, my mum was a bit obsessed (which was way out of character for her), but he has a magic power over the ladies that's for sure. Tom will always be on my playlist. Thanks for another great reaction, loving the diversity. ✌❤
Check out Sir Tom Jones singing (in his 80s) at the recent 80th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony regarding the D-Day Landings. His voice is still amazing!
Question for the ladies: Elvis and Tom enter the room at the same time: which way you headed? (And they knew each other - this is a scenario that must've happened to somebody!) [Edit: bonus question for the Brits: Elvis, Tom, or Cliff?]
He is now Sir Tom Jones. He’s in his 80s and a judge on The Voice U.K. He can still singing and hitting those high notes. Please check out some more of him. Delilah, You don’t have to Take your Hat Off x
Tom Jones It's Not Unusual . Would think record labels or artists would want the old songs no one ever hears to get a little recognition which in turn could possibly bring in new Revenue. Otherwise the songs Just Fall Into Obscurity. Tom Jones was good but my sister has had a crush on him causing his music to old real fast.lol Was able to make a deal when I was around for them to play The Carpenters Ever hear the song MacArthur's Park by Richard Harris? 🚜🤠🐂
I saw him in person in 1969 at the Greek theater in Los Angeles! I was with my two older sisters, and it was a sellout. And he was at the height of his early career. He came out on that stage and for an hour and a half saying every popular song he had done so far and every single one got a standing ovation for five minutes, it was happening! I can relive that like it was yesterday that’s how outstanding he is… His voice gets to your soul every single time no matter what he’s singing. I think my uncle who got us the tickets at a very last moment.💙💙💙
He is amazing. The women were crazy over him. They used to and still pull off their undies and throw them on stage. He would wipe his face with them and give them back to them. His Rock and Roll is amazing. He is 80 and just started his 2024 tour. He is a Judge on the Voice.
I had been losing my voice recently and I was sent to the Ear Nose and Throat doctor where they examined my vocal chords. She looked at them, and while they didn't find anything wrong, she said "you can't sing can you?". I said no, absolutely not. I don't have a powerful voice to begin with. I sound like a goat with throat cancer. She said, yeah, these vocal chords aren't going to let you sing. No amount of lessons could change that. At best, I would sound like a seagull with throat cancer. I forget exactly why but she said it's just the way my vocal folds are. It's the way I was born. So yes, I would say it's a God-given talent.
You need to see him on the Voice UK a couple of years ago where the son of the writer of this songs son was competing and Tom in his 80’s belted it out with him. I do believe he is still touring.
It’s definitely God given, he’s one of the kindest people you’ll meet. This list doesn’t even touch the sides… ‘IT’S NOT UNUSUAL’ (1965) ‘WHAT’S NEWS PUSSYCAT’ (1965) ‘THUNDERBALL’ (1965) ‘GREEN GREEN GRASS OF HOME’ (1966) ‘DELILAH’ (1968) ‘SHE’S A LADY’ (1971) ‘KISS’ (1988) ‘IF I ONLY KNEW’ (1994) ‘BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE’ (1999) ‘SEXBOMB’ (2000) ‘MAMA TOLD ME NOT TO COME’ (2000) ‘STONED IN LOVE’ (2006)
That richness you hear.. he's Welsh..😊 examples. Richard Burton and Anthony Hopkins, we used to say "those Welsh have a hidden third lung somewhere" Elvis was first a fan of Tom, then they became friends.. apparently Tom was the ONLY GUY who made Elvis feel a bit insecure around his women 😂😂😂
Thank you for this and your utter appreciation of it. Tom Jones for us WELSH people is a national treasure, not England. We have many other Welsh treasures, Dame Shirley Bassey, Bryn Terfel. There are many more for Wales. We are considered here in Wales, as 'The Land Of Song' and for very good reason, All I can ask, is that you listen to who we as the Welsh actually are. x
You can indeed learn to sing. There is some basic talent involved but, unless you are completely tone deaf, you can learn to sing by singing a lot. The 'God given' part of singing is your voice, the physical mechanism of it. That's genetics. But that is not singing, that is just your instrument. A guitarist that has enough hours of practice can make even a crappy guitar sound great. Some people need more coaching than others, but with enough practice you can work with whatever voice you have and become a singer. But you need to really want it and be willing to put in the hours and hours it takes. However, it's true you will never be Tom Jones. He's in his 80s and still sounds unbelieveably great.
You could check out a female equivalent from the same part of the world - Miss Shirley Bassey. She sang the themes for the Bond movies Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever.
Sir Tom Jones is still out there dropping panties in his 80s!! I often tell a joke that I'm so grateful to Tom he never came to my town back in these days and gave my mom the nod. I would've grown up without my mom bc she loved him back then. Learning about Tom as an adult, I can def see why. He has a lot of great stuff out there. Duets with the most talented people in the industry on his own TV show. For something wild, check out Tom singing, Treat Her Right, on his show. I don't think I see one guy in the audience, and for good reason. He goes crazy with the singing, dancing and kissing!! Absolute legend!!
He's from Wales in the U.K. where singing is in the dna. He was the original guy to get ladies panties thrown at him on stage. Still singing today, gets along well with John Farnham from Australia.
You might enjoy these YT vids - 'Sir Tom Jones & Peter Donegan's 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again' |Blind Auditions| The Voice UK 2019' and 'Sir Tom Jones & Jennifer Hudson's 'It's A Man's Man's Man's World' | The Battles | The Voice UK 2019'
Sir Tom Jones is from Wales. He is a judge on 'The Voice' UK and sang this song with the son of the composer who was Lonnie Donegan (a singer in his own right). He sounds just as good today as he did then and he is over 80. Another great singer from Wales is Shirley Bassey who sang 3 James Bond theme tunes. You should listen to 'Goldfinger' and 'Diamonds Are Forever'. She is approximately 87 now and still sounds as good.
Oh ya, the women would fall in love with him! LOL They would throw their underwear at him at concerts! LOL My mother LOVED him!! She wanted to go to his concert and throw HER underwear at him! My sister and I told her that NOW we're going to have to get the scissors and stab out our minds eye cuz we SO did NOT want that vision in our minds!!! LMAO
Tom Jones had his own TV show in the late 60's and we weren't permitted to make a sound when he was on. My mother was so in love with him and instilled that love in me and my sister to this day. He was best friends with Elvis and they'd go to each other's shows when both were playing Las Vegas.
He was known as 'THE VOICE' in the UK. He can still sing like that now at 84 years and was touring regularly, with appearances in Las Vegas from 1967 to 2011.
"GROSS: One of the things that apparently always happens at your concerts is that there are some women who throw their panties at you, throw them onto the stage. Do you remember the very first time that happened? JONES: Yeah. It was in the Copacabana in New York in 1968. It was a supper club. And the singer is on the same - the stage - the band is on the stage. But the singer is on the dance floor, which is at - and all these tables - you know, tables and chairs all around you with the people. And I was perspiring a lot, so these ladies were handing me table napkins. And then this one woman stood up and took her underwear off and, you know, handed them to me. And it was written up in the newspaper the following day. And that's what started it. And that was in '68, and I went to Vegas the same year. And then the room keys, you know, started because people that are in Vegas are staying in the hotels. And they have, you know, room keys in their handbags or their purses."
