I am old enough to be your mother, in fact my daughter is older than you, but I am developing a lot of admiration for you because watching a hard-core rapper become a lover of country music is seriously a beautiful thing. I also admire the fact that you catch yourself when you start to say a curse word and substitute a less offensive word in its place. And yes, we can actually see you do that. Relax, I'm not a stalker and I won't be trying to find you, I just greatly admire your willingness to give country music a chance and your willingness to actually LISTEN to the lyrics so that you understand the song. People who do not listen to the lyrics have little chance to develop a love for country music because country songs are all about the stories they tell and if you don't get the story, you have missed the whole point of the song. It's WONDERFUL to see you react so positively to country songs. Thank you for your reaction to this beautiful song by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow.
i am an oldER woman myself, and i feel the same as you do! the admiration is a strong one here too, but not too worry! I'm married to my best friend who happens to be 15 years younger than i! he keeps me young and turned me on to Kid Rock, the singer. i never listened to his rap, and we're both from Detroit suburbs. In fact, i was raised 15 miles from where he was raised! BUT! B.P. you ARE my favorite reactor, and i keep watching your Devil Went Down To Georgia reaction! it is EPIC! but i found you doing Home Free, and I've stayed! i admit i don't watch all your reactions, but i do a good deal of them! Kid Rock "Purple Sky" is fantastic! lots of love!
As a member of Gen X myself (mid 50s), I too appreciate watching an adult reactor with a more mature, nuanced, and humble opinion while still providing an energetic & expressive reaction that I can appreciate AND entertains. Great job, BP! I definitely have you in my top 5 favorite RU-vid music reactors of all time and probably my current co-favorite with Knox Hill. Keep up the fabulous work! Cheers!
Welp,.lemee pile on here, another Gen X woman who adores BP. I found him with the aTech N9ne interview (my favorite rapper). Y'all probably old enough to remember 'Must See TV'? BP, is my Must See RU-vid. This was a great one. I had forgotten how great that video is. And how cute was "Who is HE?" 🤣🤣
Black, when Kid hit rock bottom, Hank Jr flew him to his ranch and kept him secluded; daring any of the people with ill intentions to come on his property. a beautiful friendship developed. Check out many Hank Jr & Kid live
I always prefer Kid Rock when he's more country than rap. It suits his vocals better. His album with All Summer Long, Roll On and Blue Jeans and a Rosary was my favorite Kid album.
Never really was a Kid Rock fan until I saw him in Afghanistan. Just him, a guitar and a bar stool. Getting rid of the excessive surroundings brings out a talented individual.
Whoa, whoa, whoa… you can’t make that face and ask her who she’s lying next to when you didn’t bat an eye when he said he was laying next to another woman!🤦🏻♀️😉
To be fair, his whole verse is talking about him making bad choices while hers was about missing him and wondering what's wrong, lol. So it feels almost left field for her.
Men think and want to believe they corner the market on cheating. To separate themselves from women makes them feel better. They think women get emotionally attached just because they sleep with a man. They don't realize for some reason that women can detach also. Unfortunately as well some women really love the man and then when they mistreat them he is right when they go for another man they can definitely be done. Where a lot of men just cheat and come home!
I can't believe you've never heard this! It was literally EVERYWHERE for a solid year. Country radio, Rock radio, Pop /Top 40 radio. Huge, HUGE song & well deserved. ❤
@@justmejoy124 does he deserve kindness? Or were you pointing out that I've responded in 'kind' to an individual who has no problem letting me know what he thinks of me?
Kid Rock was one of my Dads favorite bands. Some of my earliest memories of our fishing trips include Kid Rock songs on the way to the lake. When he passed away 5 years ago we played Only God Knows Why at his funeral. That song will always hold a special place in my heart
Kid Rock wrote it and gave Crow a co-writing credit for her contributions. They recorded it before getting permission from her label. Her label wound up refusing to grant permission so he had to re-record it with Allison Moorer for a radio version. However, when people heard the Moorer version they complained to the stations who just switched back to the Crow version.
It’s so good to see someone “discovering” the true voice of Kid Rock. So much of his stage performances were just that: performances. Not many ppl know that he had a really great voice with lots of amazing texture. So, thanks for bringing this to the light.
If I’m not mistaken, that studio is in his house in Michigan. Same with those outdoor shots in the snow. I believe Cheryl came to stay with him while they recorded this song. I live in the same town and I stopped in at one of my favorite restaurants/night spots one day in the server told me I had just missed him and Sheryl the night before when they came in to chill and did some karaoke.
I've always liked Kid Rock. All Summer Long is a great bit of reminiscing. He has a pretty diverse catalog. He even did one with Hank Jr. They are very good friends.
I don't remember how big this song became but however big it was it should have been 10 times bigger. I love this song! And it's perfectly performed by the both of them
BP I’ve never anticipated your reaction more! I’m so glad you covered this and loved it. Seeing/hearing this took me back to the very first time I heard this song. Good old days, good memories. Thank you.🫶
Hank Williams, Jr calls Kid Rock his rebel son. They have done several duets together and even did a TV show together called CMT Crossroads. Some of the songs they've recorded are Cadillac P**sy, The "F" Word, and my favorite is Redeneck Paradise. There is also a live video of the doing Hank's Family Tradition together.
Love kid rock , Sheryl Crow just made this more fantastic . Her voice blends so well with his . Shes an awesome singer as well you should jump in to a few of her songs. Keep reacting to great music :)
Sheryl Crow is worth a listen - to put it mildly lol. Some of her songs include: The First Cut is the Deepest, Everyday is a Winding Road, If It Makes You Happy, and my favorite - All I Wanna Do.
At his concerts his drummer sings the sheryl crow part. She is an absolute badass!!! She plays the drums like a mutha fucker and can belt out songs like a champ!!!! She is awesome
This song was played constantly back in the day. BP please do Kenny Rogers-Coward of the County. This is a must for anyone discovering country. You will love it!
You should totally check out The Judd's. Rockin with the rhythm of the rain, Grandpa Tell Me Bout The Good Ol Days, there are so so many good ones! Now THAT'S country❤❤❤
I used to listen to this song ALL the time! It’s a great one! ❤ Sheryl Crow came to our small town last year and sang at our State Fair! My Mom took me, my 2 sisters & all the granddaughters to see her! It was such a fun night!
Huge song and whenever I randomly hear it in the car, I stll sing along...one of those songs that you never forget the words too. Thanks for your reaction. I always appreciate the way you deliver your commentary. Keep doing what you do.
The first time I heard this song my wife of 22 years and I split up. I started drinking 18 to 24 beers a night in 5 hours and passed out. Done that for 18 months before I got some help. We are friends but never got back together after that. I remarried a wonderful gal and have been together for 10 years. I had my first child at 57, that was 7 years ago. I'm 64 and she is 36. My ex remarried and she is happy also, sometimes things work out for the better.
It's the same for us girls, when a dude leaves his girl enough she gotta do what it do. For every groupie he's got she has 2 , believe me my baby daddy is a rocker. This is a song that makes me cry cause I lived it.
To your question about if it's different between guys and girls, take a listen to the Isley Brothers "Who's Makin' Love (To your old lady while you're out makin' love)"
I'm so glad you found this song, it's one of my all-time favorites! Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow just plain kill it, voices are amazing, the story sucks you in, and their performance is off the charts.
Sheryl Crow was a successful song writer for years before she started recording her own material. There's no one song that fully shows her talent, but my favorite is If It Makes You Happy. As for Kid Rock, I have to agree with other pointing at the song Only God Know Why.
Love seeing Kid Rock on here in a reaction man I been listening to him since i was a kid in the 90s and I haven't listened to this one in a long time. Thanks BP!
Young man, the only difference between a man and woman in this situation is that the woman is looked at with contempt, shock and awe. Congrats on the coming birth of your new daughter, open your mind and don’t push double standards on her.
The reaction to the man saying he couldn't look at her while he was lying next to someone else, and the woman saying she couldn't look at him while she was lying next to someone else was night and date. Kind of sad really but also a good educational reminder that we as a species need to concern ourselves more with the the combined happiness of everyone as a whole and how double standards prevent us, and delay us from achieving that.
Your cheeseburgers reference almost made me lose it man! I always thought the song was from the point of view of a couple that split up and can’t stop thinking about eachother. Can’t even try to leave eachother alone for too long. This is for sure one of my favorite duets.
Kid Rock’s singing songs are 🔥🔥🔥. Real emotion. Check out “Only God Knows Why. That song got me through being away from my son 19 months during an extended stay at the “Gated Community”
I don't know who thought of this collab with these two but God bless em!! I would never have thought of it.But they blended their styles and vocals and BOOM fabulous! I got goosebumps. Telling a story of a couple in trouble. Life's s*** gets in there and next thing you know... .Then you figure out whether still something left to hold onto...
Your reaction is spot on! This song is so relatable. Me and my person used to sing this song to each other when we were together in the past. We aren't together now for a variety of reasons, we've moved on to new relationships, but we're still each other's person. I'm always gonna be the good girl who misses him.
Kid Rock is great, and Sheryl Crow is amazing. She is just a wonderful person. I am from a town next to her home town. Met her quite a few times, had some great conversations with her to
Kid Rock has range and is a better artist than people give him credit for. This is one of my favorite Kid Rock songs. Sheryl Crow and his voice blend so smoothly. *chef's kiss*
@BlackPegasus thank you! Great reaction! Kid Rock is very good friends with Hank Jr, the late Toby Keith (kills me say ‘the late’ 😢, & many more Country artists. He’s done several songs with tons of them. I love Kid Rock! His concerts, besides Chris Stapleton’s, is best I’ve ever been to! Please react to Kid’s official video “All Summer Long”! And my favorite of his “Cowboy”! Heck I love all his songs! Especially newest album! Thanks friend! Congratulations on the upcoming baby girl, friend!!
I grew up on Hank and the Stanley brothers and others. My dad was a bluegrass and country dude lol. Then I heard ll cool jay at 11 and was obsessed with hip hop!
I've always listened to great music of all types. I really enjoy watching you experiencing all the music I grew up with. You're not afraid to give genuine reactions, too, which is a great asset. Let the haters hate my dude, dont shy away from those social commentaries you occasionally muffle. Be well my dude...🇺🇸
I remember when this came out. Pleasant Surprised. Love Sheryl Crow. Their vocals matched wonderfully. I remember when Kid Rock first came out. Great musician's.
he has been the soundttrack to most of my adult life If u love ur faith ,country ,and family and are trully expanding ur musical mind His entire catalog should fit perfectly He is a great song writer especially his deeper cuts I call it Rap-a-Rock-a-Billy Check out hisPresidential Points of Light performance of Born Free goose bumps
